e19 appreciation thread

I was literally... twelve when I first heard about Reborn, and I enjoyed the version that I did play a lot. I'd even have considered it one of my favourite Pokemon games that I played at the time. Then, I promptly forgot about it until 2021, when I decided to search it up for fun. The amount of changes and improvements that the devs have made is astounding, and I'd like to thank you all for everything that you have done to make e19 so great. :) Looking forward to trying out Starlight Divide when I have a bit more time too!

I just finished the game from my e18 playthrough, and I must say it's a wonderful, amazing Game. I'll be starting a new save soon, to see the changes to the story.

I don't know how to express how much I enjoyed this Game though, because even saying "it's possibly the best game I played in a decade or so" sounds reductive.

I loved the plot twists, the characters being all uniquely characterized while not being stereotypical, the suspence, the amazing level of challenge... in the Pokémon games I was used to I could just grab a legendary or three before the Pokémon League and would end up steamrolling through everything, and with nothing more to do other than completing the Pokédex it was not a matter of challenge, but of chance. And stubbornness.

In Reborn, I actually had to strategize at all times, especially since I wanted to try doing everything with my main team of 6, only swapping something else in if needed for plot reasons. It was very satisfying to get past a difficult fight without resorting to spam healing or grinding, but instead focusing on strategy.

So, as I said before in this very same thread, THANK YOU to all those involved for this amazing Masterpiece. I loved every minute of it, and I'm really glad I actually took a moment to research what Reborn was when I read about it. So, Thank You all again.

Hello Dev, hello everyone.
So I've been withdrawing myself from community since, I feel misfit and I don't know how to approach people. But it's nice to see the E19 is finally came up. Thank you for Reborn. This is an amazing game, or I could say, the best fan game I ever played.
So, what I'm trying to say is, CONGRATS! and THANK YOU!
Hope you guys good and these beautiful moments stays forever.

Dear reborn dev team and dear readers of this post:

After finishing the second to last quest today, I felt like writing down my feelings and thoughts in the appreciation thread @andracass opened thankfully, would be a good way to express them.

I first played the game back in 2015, not knowing how captivating and extiting this new game would be.

Honestly, you got me with the flagship 'new shiny sprites and increased shiny encounter rate', after a few minutes playtime i was overwhelmed, when back then 18 pokeballs laid on three tables and I could choose a starter from any gen.

That's when I began to love Pokemon Reborn.

After continuing the story a little further (I admit it wasn't easy sometimes to follow all the progress because English isn't my native language), I realized that there is so much more than the shinies, what every official pokemon game misses:

Real challenges. Tactical gameplay even offline against NPCs.

Riddles, that let you become desperate and asking yourself "what the hell am I doing here?"

Not a normal pokemon world, where every gym leader is waiting in his gym to be screwed by the protagonist and then smiling and laughing because we're all friends...

A bit crime, blood and death is always good for business

I never ever trained and changed my teams so often in my whole 15-20 years experience of playing pokemon, than in the ~450 hours I spent in the reborn region.

Usually I love challenging games and this was the creation's crowning glory.

Since e16 my anticipation for every new episode was huuuge and I can't name any other game, that I enjoyed playing so much.

And 3 1/2 years waiting for e19 and postgame was absolutely worth it.

All of you did an amazing job in forging characters, thinking about the riddles, creating the field effect system (which honestly should have any other pokemon game too, because you can't earthquake a fucking ocean or use water type attacks with full power on top of a volcano), redraw almost all of the shiny sprites (I'm really glad you left my favourite mythicals Mew and Celebi in their 'normal' shiny forms, because they look awesome) or building a completly new region with a loooooooooot to explore.

I guess I could go on with my eulogy endlessly, but I think it gets boring sometime.

I am really really exited, what brillant gameplay you considered for the last quest and what monster of an endboss you are serving for the cherry on the cake.

But my wedding next week is a biiit more important atm, so I took my time and start the last chapter after my honeymoon in july.

Short conclusion:

Thank you so much for your surperior performance on Pokemon Reborn and I'm very lucky I found this site and joined the community😊

I don't think I ever actually continued to get through a hard game without giving up (it was hard then ok, I was too smol brain) before Reborn. Its probably what opened me up to a lot of things that I enjoy now. Didn't even know the Forums and Discord existed until 2019 which probably tells a lot about my tech usage back then. The improvements are something I really love, especially the early game. My already declining sleep schedule was in no way affected by the release, no sir. Now just have to get this one particular shiny that I like a lot, which of course the Soft Reset Overhaul helped a lot, felt the sweet embrace of sleep. But seriously loved this game and really happy that it got finished.
