O0mega Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 So im finishing up some side quests before the upcoming update and I wanted to know what people use for pokemon that aren't used in battle. Things like Slugma for egg hatching, A thief and.. compound eyes? user for wild pokemon items. Plus anything else I'm missing.

Generic Gamer Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 Pachirisu, of all things, can be a fantastic utility mon. in particular, Pickup is good in Rejuvenation, and Super Fang+Nuzzle by level makes Pachirisu fantastic at safely weakening wild pokemon for capture.

Vespiqueen for sweet scent, flash etc. Donphan for Strength (useful in battle too, especially in certain fields) and/or Rock Smash. Dewgong/Gyarados for water HM moves or alternate HM slaves. Butterfree/Venonat/Wurmple for CompoundEyes, fainted + Smoke Ball wielding Frisk user for Item Hunting Slugma with smoke ball for egg hatching
kithas Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 Yeah a Honey-Gather Teddiursa sponsored my way through the first half of Reborn, up until the point I was able to overlevel two Linoone (who now are in the high 90s) to Pickup my way to fortune getting me Big Nuggets once in a while. They are excellent HM users, too.

I've had half a dozen or so playthroughs at this point, and only one of them have gone without having that Pachirisu from east gearen in my party at some point lol
Shiruu34 Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 The pokemon I use for utility are a flame body Chandelure ( which I also use in battle ) for hatching eggs, a team of 6 Linoone for Pickup, a Galvanthula with thief and compound eyes ( also used in battle ) and Zangoose with False swipe ( It's actually one of my 6 main mons, i just keep replacing False Swipe and Facade with each other depending on if I catch stuff or battle ). Don't use mons for HM moves, you can buy Golden items in the casino / AP center that replace the HMs.
