[IC] Bullet Hell

The sheriff looked to the man who'd interrupted him before shrugging.
"I'd say that my method worked out fine... or maybe if was you doing the same thing basically."

With that said he follows after the woman, figuring that he wouldn't be getting an explanation out of someone this grumpy.

Mokou

After half an hour, maybe forty-five minutes (it was hard to judge the passage of time in this unchanging place) of walking, the group arrived at the town. There were a surprising number of people about, coming in all shapes and sizes. It wasn't a bustling metropolis, but it was far from deserted. Under these circumstances, however, more people wasn't necessarily comforting. A few people on the street glanced towards the newcomers, but most took no notice of them.

Their guide stopped walking in front of a smaller building. "Latrine" was carved into the stone above the door, much to the desperate Rei's relief. "Welcome to the grand tour." the girl told them, "I always start with the most important place. But make it quick."

Also Terumi...

Arrived shortly before everyone else and thus was left to explore the town on his own.

Rei had started doing that 'I really fucking need to go' sort of movements a good 20 minutes back. She wondered if being half-oni was why she could hold it this long, but didn't really care as she bolted inside and went for the toilet (or equivalent) with a quick "Thank you thank you!"

"Well, at least that's dealt with. . ." She looked around the place. Lots of people, at least compared to what the surroundings would make you think. "So this place is called Bullet Hell? . . . Shouldn't it be hotter?" If it was any sort of Hell, it was supposed to be hot, right? Or was that only Old Hell? She hadn't ever heard much about New Hell. Maybe they had it set up differently, figured that burning corpses was inefficient or something.

"It's just a name." the guide told the oni girl. As soon as the other oni girl returned from the public restroom, the guide began walking again. This time the building they were brought to had "焼き鳥" painted on its wooden door at around shoulder height. She led the group inside. The room inside was rather small, most of it being taken up by a bar that spanned across it and the stools placed in front of the bar. Behind the bar was a grill and a doorway with stairs inside leading up to the second floor. The guide went behind the counter, grabbed some ingredients from underneath the bar, and started preparing something. Those who cared would note this as the first time she took her hands out of her pockets since they'd first met her. "The food here is spicy." She said over her shoulder as she worked.

Suguri SP

Suguri had rejoined the group as they neared her, although during their travels she had remained silent. She had taken the chance to use the latrine as well before heading to the next location. As it seemed like the red pants girl was intended to provide them food, she took a seat at the end of the bar and waited. Although the town had many residents, it seemed to her that most of them were doing their best to avoid associating with the newcomers. That would put a wrench in her plan of teaming up with someone more knowledgeable, it looked like she'd have to work with the lot she was brought in with. She turned herself so that she could see the other four that had come here. "It seems like it would be a good idea for us to attempt to work together somehow." She offered, "I don't think our captor will give us much choice when it comes to fighting or escaping, living in this town presents a challenge on its own."

The sheriff shrugs and sits at the bar.
"What's the prices look like?"
He turns to the chick proposing team work and shrugs.

"I mean, I'm not adverse to it. But if Headly wasn't just some weird extra dimensional being that we have to pass to get to this dimension then it would seem we're all gonna be fighting each other at some point."

Shinobu perked up a bit at the prospect of food. She reached down to her waist, and was quite delighted at what she found; though she may have been dragged off to another dimension to fight until she died, at least she still had her sake gourd. The half-oni immediately took a swig from it, before electing to reply to the girl with some sort of plan. "Sounds like a good idea. This place is drearier then Hell." Something about her tone was odd as she said that, rather lacking in emphasis. She held the gourd up in front of herself. "Anyone else want some? You need any to cook with?"

Suguri SP

"Of course." Suguri agreed, "But we can worry about fighting when the time comes. As I already said, I don't think we have much choice about fighting, we'd be working to make it to the fighting." The first thing they needed was shelter. As hospitable as the white-haired girl was being, Suguri doubted she was just going to give them a place to stay.

Terumi

In all honesty, Terumi wasn't exactly doing much aside from strolling around the town, figuring out what the town itself had to offer (which was practically nothing), and continuing to go over the fact that not even an hour ago he was practically humiliate by both Abyss and that damn cowboy shit. It angered, no INFURIATED him that those events transpired... Which made him hope that when Abyss actually decided to let them fight (after all, it was a "gladiatorial game" to her), Terumi would be able to kill that cowboy first and foremost.

Because obviously, he needed to be taught a lesson.

Terumi

Despite what Terumi might think of the town's value, he did actually find quite a lot on offer in the town. A variety of small shops each dedicated to a specific craft, varying from food and clothing to swords and guns. There was also housing about: apartments, homes, and hotel-like establishments. All of them seemed to require payment, but so far Terumi hadn't seen any form of currency yet.

Rei, similar to her sister, was quite interested in the prospect of food.  "Oooooh, fooood~" she muttered as their guide worked. To the person who suggested they work together, she responded without shifting her gaze. "Uhhhh cooperation? Sure, sure. Don't see a problem there, right sis?"

Akemi

Akemi surveyed his considerably accommodating surroundings, facilities, albeit not for their use due to the lack of currency now brought before them in comparison to the dull hall they had first gathered before. One of the members had proposed a truce or cooperation of sorts, to which Akemi took no heed at present -- it was unsure yet if they were to fight together or each other, or both, and to that Akemi wanted to minimize any acquaintanceship-esque obligations. He had to admit, however, that he was getting thirsty, and hesitated to order a drink from the bar, knowing that he lacked the required resource to pay, would likely end up in vain to swindle himself a drink, more or less know if there was anything appealing to his tastes in this unfamiliar realm to begin with.

That was until what was a slightly clawed -- if her talons at her fingertips were not mere aesthetic, of which the artist himself found...unfashionable -- offered something in her gourd, of what he presumed to be wine or alcohol. A dry mouth wasn't something Akemi would settle with at the moment, nor did the woman seem any hostile at a glance. No longer able to ignore the pestering feeling of thirst waiting to the nourished at the back of this throat, he raised his gloved hand and waved at the girl in signalling to grab her attention.

"I guess I wouldn't mind a drink," He shrugged, trying to hide the fact that he desired the drink in any way, appearing as though he wanted to do it merely on a whim. "There's always time for good wine, perhaps."

"Finally, someone with manners!" Shinobu beamed and handed the sake gourd to the masked man. "You really can't trust someone who won't take a drink from you." She turned her head to their host. "Hey, do you have any sake cups? It's a pain to just pass the gourd around to everyone." She supposed she couldn't blame everyone for being standoffish; this was a strange and hostile-seeming place, and their yellow friend hadn't seemed particularly friendly. A hell of a piece of work, that guy was. She'd seen the type in Old Hell, evil spirits that got left behind and filled with hate. Still, it couldn't hurt to try and break the ice.

Plates of skewered chicken were placed in front of everyone by their host. It had a purely salty flavor, yet also managed to somehow burn as though it were spicy. Mokou also grabbed a couple ceramic cups and placed them in front of Shinobu. The sake suffered a similar fate. Though it still tasted exactly like itself, there was an underlying sense of burning as though it had been spicy. Mokou herself seemed unperturbed by this as she ate her own chicken. "Abyss may call at any time. You should find housing before then. Saki will help." She said when she finished.

The Sheriff nodded as he ate his chicken. If he was bothered by the spice he didn't show it. He wasn't of course, this was the best food he'd had in weeks. If it wasn't for not knowing how to ask politely he would have seen if he could get some more of it.

Suguri was slightly confused by the strange taste of the food, but she was hungry so it didn't matter all that much to her. She scarfed it down rapidly, taking the cook's warning about their possible summons to heart. Unfortunately, it seemed only one of the other was interested in working together, that didn't bode well. Still, at least one was more than none. She would make an effort to communicate with them further once they were done with their own food, for the moment she needed some more information. "So, where can we find this Saki?" She asked.

Mokou

"She has a bakery a little further down." Mokou told the silver-haired girl, "I can lead you there." She removed herself from behind the counter and headed towards the door, next to which she stopped and waited to see if anyone would follow.

Shinobu shrugged and stood up, holding her hand out toward Akemi. She hadn't been bothered by the spice of the food, though the same flavor in the sake was slightly offputting. Still, booze was booze. "Guess we're gonna be here for a while then, eh? What's this Saki like, anyway? Nice as you?" The compliment was genuine; the girl had taken them in and fed them with no apparent motivation, so until she displayed some sort of ulterior motive she would take the gesture at face value.

With absolutely zero warning, the world vanished. It was replaced by an arena, crafted from stone just like everything else. It was rectangular in shape, with spectators inhabiting seats along the short ends of the rectangle. The two unfortunate enough to be called to face each other stood just below these spectators, facing off at a long range. In the center of one of the longer sides of the rectangles was a being whose face was easily recognized: Abyss herself. Her voice appeared in the minds of both gladiators in her pit at the same time. "Destroy them."

Nibiiro

Nibiiro had aimlessly wandered around the town in a panic for some time after she left the main group. A nice lady had just taken her in and offered her cookies when the mean head lady had suddenly taken her to this rectangular prison. "..." I don't want to fight. She pleaded, but her cries went unheard. She didn't want to destroy anyone like the mean head lady said, but she saw her opponent readying their weapon and knew she didn't have a choice. "!!!" Noooooooo! She cried as she summoned her robot allies to her aid. Several beams of white light tore through the air between herself and her foe,  a hail of bullets firing at her in return. Two of them flew close enough to scare her, but she managed to stay just out of their way.

Rei did a double take. One moment, food, drink. Next moment, fight. Well, alright then - oh hey, it was the somewhat jerk-ish seeming guy from earlier. She'd not even talked to him but Shinobu had been trying to do a thing... well, let's go then! She stomped the ground, and in front of her the earth cracked - but Terumi wasn't where she'd hoped he'd go. Of course, his shots went wide too. "...Let's never speak of this again." she said, before moving into action again...

Terumi

Just as Terumi had decided to stop walking around, leaning onto a wall, sighing in annoyance, before he was suddenly thrown into some form of arena, staggering slightly from the sudden change. He WAS able to notice two things though, despite being disoriented: His opponent, one of the few who had arrived in this hell hole with him, and Abyss, sitting their with like the smug little bitch she was. At first, Terumi growled, straightening and glaring at Abyss... Until she said, to both of them, to destroy the other.

And that was the first time Abyss actually made Terumi smile.

With that Terumi turned to his opponent, tilting his head slightly as he began to call out, "Well, look who it is, one of of those little shits who came in here not too long ago. Honestly, I would've preferred that piece of trash as the first person I got the beat the shit out of here, but lucky for you, I can still get some enjoyment from this. After all, I NEED a little bit of a punching bag here" Terumi said, grinning in his normal, sadistic manner... Before suddenly dashing to the side, the same portal in the sky that he had made before opening of and unleashing a torrent of dark green snakes at Rei... Until he paused, noticing how EVERY GOD DAMN ONE simply broke apart the ground around her.

For a second, Terumi look dumbfounded at that, before growling, probably from the string of back luck he was having... Before shrugging, moving for his next attack...

The Sheriff wasn't all that interested in a fight. Especially against the... Weird child mutant? Whatever it was, it was clearly scared out of it's mind which made it really dangerous in this scenario. He opened fire with his machine gun, hoping to end this unscathed but the disorientation combined with a lack of aim made his shots... well they basically flew off into the distance without any of them coming close. Unfortunately, his opponent was some how more accurate and proceded to blast him with lasers, adding some cuts and burns to his clothes. With a frown he started retaliating...
