edit: oh yes, small mention of what palette im using exactly- im trying to give arcanine a palette similar to stoutland, with the fur looking alike to stoutlands and the manes having the color of stoutlands 'stache. figured id let this know already so that if its not a good idea I can already start working on something else

Finished the Mankey backsprite. Will start on Primeape after I sleep.

Here's the edited versions of Paras and Parasect so that their spots stand out more. Any changes aside from those I can get to after I wake up as well.

these are all of my original claims except for the Magmar backsprites (gotta correct the current one). I also added another design for Magmar(it seems that you could prefer the new one Jan).

turned out slightly different than what I actually had in mind (ended up not using the brown color on stoutlands head, oops), backsprite coming soon(tm) as soon as I finish the outlines

 

that being said I think I found new respect for people who manage to make these as quickly as they do

Magmar is better. Colors need to be adjusted to compliment each other more, though.

Some tips for people who don't know what to do with their colors and want to learn more about how to properly apply them to their sprites:

• http://paletton.com/ is a very good website to come up with color schemes! You can mess around with settings and create a color palette this way that you can potentially use for a shiny sprite.
• Don't use overly saturated colors -- they hurt the eyes... Especially if you put clashing colors next to each other.
• What are clashing colors?
• The basics of color theory
• I got some more shading tutorials and color palettes for you here, here, here aaaaaaaaand here!

Good luck, and most importantly have fun! Don't be afraid to experiment, but make sure that everything looks nice together.

Practice makes perfect!

These are good, but Metapod's is way too similar to the original. Other than that these are good to go.

If you finished Machamp then there's no reason to scrap it. Though, I would claim stuff in the future to avoid this kind of thing.
