After somehow messing up the background horribly TWICE, here are the backsprites for Doduo and Dodrio (finally) (Males to the left, Females to the right):

 

 

And here are the frontsprites (again) (Males to the left, Females to the right):

 

Could it be that Gen 1 is done?

So I was still not really feeling the blue still. So I expanded on the original idea and your idea. (I liked the color you gave their tails) So I got this: 

 

 

Still have to work on the blending for Doduo but I think I'm going to go with this. 

 

But yeah, Gen 1 is finished! There should be some sprites I need to fix up, but yeah, we should be done!
