I've played Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Xillia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Tales of Xillia 2, then Tales of Graces F, in that order. Just get the 2x grade thing at the end of your first, and you'll be loaded by the end of your second. Unless that's too many playthroughs for you. Anyway, I've played Abyss and Legendia myself and loved them both. (I still don't get the hate for Legendia. The game was awesome.) I've also done a bit of co-op with a friend in Graces, Xillia, Symphonia, and Destiny, and I pretty much know the plotline for Symphonia and Phantasia, so there's that too. They were okay and not mind blowing in any way for me. Some similar games I enjoyed were Star Ocean: Til the End of Time, Radiata Stories, and Rogue Galaxy. Unfortunately for me, I've only played Tales of Phantasia ((GBA)) and Tales of the Abyss ((3DS)). And actually, while reading all of these comments, I saw Tales of the Abyss mentioned the most! My favorite within the series comes down between Symphonia (Lloyd's catchphrase I swear was "bastard") Abyss ( best story that didn't go over the top in the 2nd half like a lot of them do or Xillia (best cast hands down) The sequels are alright. Symphonia 2 happened... for some reason and Xillia 2 was fun but I played it to see Jude and company again. The worst imo is Legendia. It was so bad after the first half ends with a pretty forgettable group. It didn't want me to play it. I wish Vesperia wasn't xbox only because I really wanted to play it. For those of you who really want to play the game I suggest Abyss or Xillia. Symphonia was awesome and had fun characters but since the gameplay only ever receives moderate tweaks except for Zestiria, Abyss and Xillia have the stories that really pull you in. Finally Zestiria.. Fun game and cast is lively as always but this one is easy mode. I've been playing on the hardest difficulty for my first playthrough and because of character fusion its almost impossible to die. I can't imagine the ease of playing on normal or easy mode. The bosses are the only real challenge. Also I dare you to play this game and not think of the Avatar. That's my three cents on this beautiful series. Great mechanics, anime-like stories and settings and all around fun times. Watch every skit.... Every skit. Link to post Share on other sites
