On the topic of field effects: I think we all agree that the fields in E19 are going to play a huge role in the players approach to teambuilding moreso than they did up to this point in the Reborn story. I wonder especially with the Nightclubs battle tower style fights. If the fields and teams are somewhat random everytime you fight a new trainer, should you prepare your for a certain field especially (e.g. nobody would prepare directly for an electric field, but youcould argue that you have to prepare for an underwater field or new world field)

Does the Necklase imply that Ari is the only true Reborn protagonist? :-P

Do we know yet if the elite battles will be in a singles, doubles .. or triples format? (or a mix of)

So a challenge run ranking could look like that: "easy": Differemt tactic teams (stall, weather/field altering) "intermediate": monorun (e.g. type of the next gym leader), speed-stat-restriktion run. "advanced": classic Nuzlocke challenge.

Hey Jace3, so up until now, I used mostly pure offense on the playthroughs ( like P-Z or sheer force Darmanitan), there was little strategical thinking behind it. I never went with weather teams or stall teams, though that could be a challenge aswell, couldnt it :). Hope that helps a little and thanks for your endeavor. Edit: ..oh and i never considered a modpack before, is there a mod that controls the "challenge rules" of a monorun/ nutlocke run and prevents you from quote on quote cheating?

Heyho, I have the following request (which is mostly catered towards the experienced "challenge" runners of reborn) For someone that never tapped outside of the regular style of "everything goes" in reborn playthroughs I wondered, which style of "special" playthrough is, in your regard, most friendly and which is worst for a first-time experience. If you have some experience to share in regards to monotype beginner friendliness or nuzlockes and similar challenges, I'd love some type of theoretical ranking. Thanks and have a nice weekend all.

With all the pokemon (except legendaries) available, I doubt we will have many (if any) pokebattles on equal footing not giving the npc some sort of biig advantage. Since as you said before, simply having a Hydreigon for the final fight is no feat for us anymore, hell we could have 6 Hydreigons for that fight (or 5 Hydreigons and 1 Pikachu if we want to keep things kanon). So there might be a twist, maybe a pulse Hydreigon? Or a fusion of Lin an Hydreigon like with ZEL?

As of now im reading a book about the evolution of sex. in the book the author pointed out, that having only 2 genders (for mating purposes) is in of itself not efficent, as 50% of the population are ruled out as potential mating partners. The idea of a third gender (again Im not talking about sexual identification but the mating propositions) would induce a very curious dynamic the the process of human evolution... but I guess I went a bit to far with those assumptions. So thanks again and hopefully you take this thread with a grain of salt.

heyho, if you intend on going hard in the postgame it might be a good idea to start a run now, as quite all non legendary pokemon are available as of ep.18, which means the grind for your worlds best team can already be done. If you'r not about these postgame struggles or regard a second playthrough after e19 comes as a bad thing then i would recommend you to wait a little longer. cheers

Thanks for the update. I enjoy these tidbits of your "journey" through E19 development quite a lot (more than just a cold soulless statusbar).

I just started playing Reborn again. It has become a once a year kind of game. Even if E19 would have to be postponed further, the game as it is already is such a fun experience. Going through every episode up till now (Started with episode.8) really exemplifies that old shaolin saying 'the journey is the goal'. It feels weird but in a sense I am happy that the game isn't finished yet.

So for the ultimate challenge: 5 male Combees and 1 skitty ;)

Hey durps, I was thinking about Reborn recently and which Pokemon I deemed to be the most invaluable. I'm awfully curious, if you had but a single Pokemon to accompany you one a playthrough of Reborn (yes, I know that is virtually impossible, but let's pretend it would be) ..which one would it be for you?? If we keep legendaries out of the equation, I myself would go with... Porygon-Z! Reason being it learning Agility and Nasty Plot. If you manage to set up two rounds, I guess you might be able to one shoot almost everything. What are your high runners? :)

Heyho, Thanks for the update. It is very much understandable that Starlight had to take priority in the past. I started the game while being an engineering student. Now it's almost two years working in the industry. In that time I realised, if you have to put a project aside, it's always best to stay clear with your communication about the progress. Some people, myself involved, I'm sure we're lured into a false sense of "progression-estimation" by the progress bars, so I very much think a clear statement about the general progress is a step in the absolute right direction. Edit: meant to say "...giving a statement once in a while..."

Really, it's great to see the love for the plot and upcoming fights by you guys. :) that said I'm digging into most of your suspections but one. I do not think there will be a classic elite4 fight. Considering the deep diversions between the possible elite members, especially Elias vs the others, I can not imagine them just pretending everything's fine and we're all pals now... No I'm betting on maybe 1 or 2 new characters making their debut in E19 as elite members.

Hey mateys, are we still allowed to hype here, or what :-P as for the Ep. 18.3 release, I'd love to know who of you was sucked into reborn once again for the sake of "testing" out the new AI. ;) (...and how was it?!) For myself, I'm still out here trying to circumvent replaying the game until we're all the way there. To be honest it's getting harder and harder to not succumb to... … the engaging hours of resets in front of Ditto in the blacksteam factory! … the soothing rides in front of great hall waiting for my Mons back at the daycare to … *wink wink* ;) … the meticolous, innovative, thought trough battle plans we all came up with to kill that Garchomp on the vulcano (bar prankster PS Murcrow - you nasty cheaters! :-P) it will be a pleasure to just wait a little longer for as the joyful anticipation is often said to be sweetest. :)

As I'm watching GoT as of now I'd like to ask you the following: what are your top 3 people most likely to die in EP. 19? For me its the following: 1. Lin 2. Dr. Connal 3. Fern

I personally will start all over again, once E 19 ist out. And this time, ill write down all of the Meteor grunts names, so that fanfic writers all over the world may rejoice, as lovestories and rivalry between the Meteors may unravel! .. but in all seriousness, one would argue, that if one now grinds all the way up to E19th release You will be seperated from the story if you play it now and than wait for the last part (that will connect to loose strings) for ~1 year. If I now spend my time maticulously crafting the perfect death squad, carefully considering the endgame fields like the Starlight Arena, I may find the last part to be a wash, when it otherwise would be a good challenge. Also one might miss out on interesting changes made in the early- and midgame. but ofc everyone should do, as he pleases, there is no right way to Approach E19 and the game in general.

very well written! but hotdamn, taking out Terras ???-Type Mons with only 0HKOs will be a neckbreaker. Are there any "tricks" for the lategame you're having in the back off your head... like x5 Destiny bond users + x1 'Giga Impact' Slaking? ^^
