Something I see somewhat often is mixing Physical and Special attacks on a Pokemon when most excel at one or the other. I tend to stick to one type so as to maximize damage. Also, don't waste move slots on field moves like HM's. IMO it's better if you load up as few Pokemon with as much field moves as possible. Sandshrew and Pelipper can use almost every field move between the two (the only exception is Waterfall.)

1.) Their's a guy on Route 2 that wants to see some Pokemon (Cherrim, Magcargo, and Zebstrika) and he'll give you a Magnet along with a Charcoal, Miracle Seed, and the TM for Nature Power. 2.) Wild Nosepass have a 5% chance to be holding one (found in Caratos Mountain.) 3.) If you've finished v9, you can buy them in GDC's Underground. 4.) Their's a Magnet hidden in West Gearen (I think it's outside the east side of the Power Plant.)

Leaf Stones can be bought in the Lost Camp by one of the children (you'll have to find that child first)

If you change the date on your computer to a Sunday, you should be able to proceed (only works if you set it to a future date.)
