  1. "I suppose we head for Snowdin town then?" Rachel muses, "There doesn't seem to be anything in the other directions."
  2. "I mean I have heard this Asgore's tale before, hundreds of times over," Sister Rachel sighs, the bombast falling away from her as her shoulders slump, "From the greatest of sorcerers to the least, there comes a time when their ambitions overreach their means. They are confronted with a problem that demands more warpcraft than they can muster, and they must make a choice. To accept their limitations, to seek help from others or simply leave alone. Or to give in to the whispers within the warp, and sacrifice their kinsmen, their humanity, and their very soul to power through. 'And so'," Her voice grows quieter, taking on the cadence of someone quoting from well-trodden memory, "'Magnus looked at what had become of his body, and his works. He looked at the fruits of his endless lust for secrets and power. And in the moment before his mind and soul shattered, he wept, for he had become the very thing he had sworn to defend humanity against. The very thing he had sworn to destroy. Yet he could not, for he had let the Ruinous Powers into his soul, and they would not relinquish their prize.' By the time a sorcerer, as Ignia put it, escalates to empowering themselves through ritualistic murder..." Rachel moves over to the keyblade wielder and starts bandaging and stitching her larger wounds almost on auto-pilot, so practiced at treating flesh wounds that she barely even needs to think about it. Anesthetics are *not* used; Astartes-grade disinfectant is. "The Emperor's Mercy is the kindest thing we can do for him at this point, and administering it before he can complete his ritual the surest way to keep the abhumans of this place safe from his lust for power beyond his ability to control it."
  3. "Of course they are. The heretic Asgore must be attempting to ascend to daemon princehood with his human sacrifices!" Rachel exclaims, "It becomes ever more imperative that we find him and stop him as soon as possible."
  4. Rachel’s prayers proved fruitful... but not in a way that would grant offensive power. So she prepares an action to Deny the Witch for Arminius or the Child should Toriel choose to strike one of them.
  5. "I see. If you have a way to more... actively defend myself without breaking my oath, I would be willing to attempt to use it," Rachel nods at Toriel, stowing her sword and letting her medicae take the used needles for sterilization, freeing her hands.
  6. "I swore to you that I would not slay any of the abhumans of the underground until we tracked down the heretic Asgore, barring extreme circumstances," Rachel reminds Toriel, "As my last official tour of duty was as part of a campaign against splinters of Hive Fleet Leviathan, I do not have any anti-riot equipment. As such, any attacks I make will likely be instantly lethal to soft targets to ones such as those we have encountered. Unless I break my word, and I will not do so, any hostiles we encounter therefore must be defeated through diplomacy, intimidation, or subterfuge."
  7. "Be careful, Arminius!" Sister Rachel loads up her extra large needles with the good drugs, and uses Feel No Pain to give Arminius two stacks of Guts, "I am protected by my armor and the grace of the God-Emperor. Faith is well and good, but you don't have any body armor to fall back on."
  8. Sister Rachel moves to stand between Arminius, Toriel, and the dog. She swore an oath to not kill anyone if it was at all avoidable, and this dog doesn't seem particularly well armed, but, well, there's more than one way to fight a battle. She unclamps her helmet from where it hangs off her jump pack and puts it on, to protect her throat and face from any lucky blades, and pulls her Nemesis Force Sword into a ready position, resting against her right shoulder with both hands on the hilt of the Astartes sword. She doesn't activate the power field. "You will hurt no one today."
  9. Mirri snorts in Leo's general direction. "Yes, let's deliver the pets before someone fries themselves... Or something. And delivering lost pets might not be the most glamorous things around, but people care about them. It's as good a bounty as any, and at least they tend to appreciate being brought back home in a cage more than bail skips, criminals, or whoever's poked at Prince Xizor's ego with a stun stick this week." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Overwatch is a peace-keeping organization," Vitor explains to Lucian, "It was originally founded when some of the omnic robots we created as servants and menial laborers were hacked and taken over by these things called God Programs, and used to wage war against humanity. Overwatch saved the world and got... mostly equal rights for the omnics who didn't go off the deep end, and was disbanded. With the way things were going downhill before I left, Winston got the band back together so to speak, with new recruits like me. But meddling from other worlds has been increasing, and... I figured joining up with this group was the best way to help make sure the only threats Overwatch has to deal with are native."
  10. "Vitor Santos-Schultz," The magus shakes the offered hand, "Overwatch combat engineer. And, uh, no, that company name doesn't ring any bells. Which considering what a lotta the big names in industry back home are hip deep in ain't necessarily a bad thing."
  11. "I didn't even fire a warning shot," Sister Rachel protests, "What was threatening about that?"
  12. Cell carves Bazelgeuse's tail, and obtains 3 Explosive Scales, which deal 6d6+15 damage to a single target enemy. He also gets the Bazelgeuse Tail, a high quality crafting reagent with explosive properties. You wake up in the morning, and find that it's a very short walk to the location of the Air Stone, underneath a very tall tree that towers over the rest of the jungle nearby. There are definite signs that the Nui-Rama were here, claw and stinger markings, and a few dead Rahi beasts, drained of their vital fluids. And alongside the stone, you find a silver mask. "All right! That's three stones!" Nuparu celebrates, "We're halfway there! We still need the water, fire, and ice stones. Well, the water and ice stones, since the fire stone is in the safest place it could be right now. Ta-koro's defenses have never fallen, after all. So would you rather freeze to death or drown?" "The water isn't that bad," Hahli scoffs, "It's just a bit... deep."
  13. "I hate unannounced teleportation," Vitor groans, prying himself upright and wiping his mouth with the offered cloth, "It's not nearly as bad if I can brace myself first. Uh, hi. Thanks, and, uh, sorry about that. You one of the locals or part of this crew of misfits and philanthropists?"
  14. Mirri, sensing Law's discomfort, holds her lightsaber high, searching for possible threats with the pale, blue glow.
  15. "Hm." Mirri considers the creature, "Looks like it's caught in something that's tight enough to draw blood. Any ideas on how to get it off?"
  16. Mirri runs forward, trying to get closer for a better look at the strange creature and the thing on its head.
  17. Sister Rachel looks at her blessed flamer, then at her melta pistols, and then at the bird made of ice. "I really don't think you want to try to fight us," She informs the creature, "It is not going to go well for you."
  18. "Good thinking. We might need reinforcements," Mirri nods minutely to Law, igniting her lightsaber again for the light and possibly the self-defense as she advances cautiously down the tunnel. It feels strange to just be able to pull her blade out with no consequences, but in another universe there's no Empire to try to track her down.
  19. Mirri draws upon the Force, deactivates her lightsaber for safety, and leaps up the stairs towards the noise!
  20. Mirri follows close behind Leo, watching his back. She ignites her lightsaber to provide more reliable illumination.
  21. "You need to get out then," Lexiel orders the merchant, moving forward towards the stairs, "We're clearing the demons out, and it's not safe here. Unless... I don't suppose we have a way to prove this isn't a demon in disguise?"
  22. Mirri briefly closes her eyes behind her visor... concentrates on her feelings... listens to the Force... "Kusuke, stop looking at Leo!" She snaps at the time bender as she stomps into the alley, "You're clouding my senses with false positives." Unignited lightsaber in one hand, she examines the ground for any signs of trouble or a struggle.
  23. "Something's been abducting people?" Mirri checks her blaster grimly, "I'm hunting it down. Anyone else coming?"
  24. "I guess we'll need to find some way to get local currency before we can do anything else here," Mirri heads towards the door out of the store, "Fortunately, if there's any constant in the world, it's that someone's always going to be willing to pay for a little violence."
