  1. "I am unfortunately not authorized to share many technical specifications," Conrad mutters, looking over the document, "But... Yes, I do believe we'll be able to contribute significantly to the bombardment. And we may be able to share more commonplace technologies."
  2. "They're sometimes called laser swords, but that isn't accurate. They're actually plasma contained in a magnetic field," Mirri ignites her lightsaber, the blue glow lighting up the hanger, "And focused through a Kyber Crystal, or more than one. Any crystal can become a Kyber when it's used as a focus for the Force, steeped in its energy by an adept, and... the color generally reflects their disposition and how they prefer to wield the Force. Thanks to energy conservation hardware, they only expend power when cutting, so the power cells last a lot longer than you'd think."
  3. "How much effort would you need to expend to break CFW Magic's shield? What methods would you use?" Saejik asks, "Depending on the procedure, and the costs involved, I might have a way to make your efforts easier."
  4. Rachel continues to sing, transitioning into a new hymn as she uses Feel No Pain to give Jun two stacks of Guts, and designates the Genji Armor as the target of her Orange damage reduction. "A mighty fortress is our Emperor, a bulwark never failing! A helper He amid the sea of heresies unfailing!" 5. "We've had those a few times," Mirri sets the tablet aside with a still somewhat sour expression, "Sometimes I wonder what could have been if the reaction hadn't been to ban or harshly legislate the avenues of research that led to them. Obviously, the Sith Empire went too far, as they always did, but a more moderate approach could have done a lot of good. That said, there's something to be said for technology that doesn't grow out of hand on its own. It's been thousands of years and we're still not sure we got all the Rakghouls. Nasty things. "Anyways, if we want to get anywhere today, we should probably get back to the task at hand. I'm not going to be getting much of anything done until my armor is back in good working order."
  6. "I- that- Give me that!" Mirri grabs the tablet and starts looking over it. Then she calls over R2-P14, and they both start looking over it, beeping and muttering with increasing frustration as Mirri's knuckles pale over the tablet clenched in increasingly tight fists. "Breathe in to concentrate the anger, breathe out and release it into the Force," Mirri mutters to herself through clenched teeth, "Concentrate it and release it. It's not his fault, you're not mad at him, don't screw this up." She breathes out heavily and slumps over, tapping her face against the tablet. "Well, that's at least two years of higher education wasted. Let me rephrase. Droids are absolutely necessary for the rest of us because we can't do math like that in our heads in seconds flat, or input it into a computer just as fast."
  7. "Bwoooa Blyat," R2-P14 chirps at Law from where he's fussing around in an open maintenance panel on one of the X-Wing's engines. "Hey, don't use language like that on allies, you little gremlin," Mirri chides the droid idly, to which her responds with some rude gestures with a manipulator arm in her general direction, "And droids are plenty useful. They can crunch numbers and recall data far better than any organic I've ever heard of. I'm a trained hypernavigator. I can calculate a jump to about half a dozen planets in my home universe in about two or three hours by hand if I need to, and I could do it to other planets if I've got the coordinates and more time to work with. R2 over there can run the calculations in thirty seconds flat, and remember every inhabited planet in the known universe with yottabytes of memory to spare for his personality matrix, engineering and repair functions, and personal purposes."
  8. "I am capable of synthesizing most small items as part of my self-repair functionality," Alexandria explains to Liliya, as she turns towards the door, "Otherwise it would be... difficult to find adequate replacement parts in the field. The main limitations are size, and my own knowledge; I must know how to manufacture whatever I am producing. I could theoretically reconstruct myself from only my processing unit, power source, and nano forge. Though I would likely go insane in the thousands of years this would require."
  9. "Bes'kar, more commonly known as Mandalorian Iron, is a material only found in my home universe on the planet Mandalore and its moons. I've seen it synthesized in another universe, but only in very small quantities. With the correct forging procedure, which until now I didn't think was possible by machine, it can be shaped into extremely dense, heavy, and durable weapons and armor. It's one of only two known materials that can resist a lightsaber cut," Mirri gestures at her own weapon to indicate what she means, "Without help from Sith alchemy or interfering with the mechanism like cortosis can. Phrik, the other metal able to resist lightsabers, is lighter and even tougher, but much harder to work with. It's found on multiple worlds, unlike Mandalorian Iron, and you can work it industrially, but it's rarely found in useful quantities, and you have to alloy it with Tydirium just to do anything with it. And Phrik is a ridiculously strong insulator, which doesn't help since you need to somehow put holes in it if you want to integrate electronics into it. Bes'kar is just easier to work with, and until the Empire strip-mined Mandalore to keep us from getting any more of it much less expensive. It gets its resilience from its extreme density, strong atomic bonds, and the unique crystalline structures the metal demonstrates when properly forged."
  10. Vakama thinks about it for a few moments more, but... he hands the Kanohi Vahi to Tsubasa. "Use it wisely. Use it with care. For all our sakes, I hope you will not need to use it at all." The group gains the Fire Stone, the Kanohi Miru, and the Kanohi Vahi Kanohi Miru, the Great Mask of Levitation Kanohi Vahi, the Great Mask of Time "Now that you have all six Toa Stones, you must travel to the Great Shrine at Kini-Nui, our most sacred place," Vakama directs the party, "Uniting the Toa Stones there will call the Toa Mata to the island, so that they might perform their duty, and achieve their destiny, re-awakening the Great Spirit Mata Nui that the Makuta thrust into a deep slumber so long ago. I have no doubt that the Makuta's minions will attempt to stop you; be ready." Fortunately, Hahli and Nuparu know the way to Kini-Nui.
  11. Alexandria finds a piece of spare detritus, and drops it into her mouth. She emits a faint grinding noise as her self-repair mechanisms are repurposed to break the trash down and transform it into a more useful format. Then she spits a business card onto the table. "I have analyzed local communications devices, and formatted my integrated phone to interface with them. You should be able to reach me at this number."
  12. "To my understanding, Youkai are somewhat conceptual beings," Lexiel explains to Spray, "The biggest difference between a Youkai, which is generally considered evil, and a Kami, which is generally considered benevolent, is perception. You could have a river spirit that is considered a Kami by one village, because its river floods every year and enriches their fields, and another village who considers that same spirit a Youkai because its floods damage their docks and houses. And because they're conceptual beings, the method of harming them matters less than the intent to do so. And for some, these generally the more potent ones, more powerful attacks are more powerful not because they output more damage, but because you, using them, believe these attacks to be more powerful and have placed more effort and faith into them. However, mostly these interactions are going to boil down to your attacks working as you expect them, aside from a few edge cases that are unlikely to apply to just shooting one. "As for injuries? Contusions, cuts, bruises, and the like are inevitable in pretty much any fight, Aside from that... I'd expect burns of the heat and electrical variety, burn-similar effects, frostbite, and extreme exhaustion. Those are the most common consequences of more exotic damaging magic."
  13. "I- what? Teleporting individual molecules? How can you target that- I-" She takes a deep breath and looks down at Law with something approaching genuine respect, "I'm an aerospace engineer, not a theoretical physicist, but I didn't think it was possible to have sensors that precise."
  14. "Oh for... Don't let that slow you down, Jun! Keep fighting!" Rachel uses Triage! Rachel uses Chirugeon's Treatment on Jun, curing her stun and giving her immunity to the next status ailment to afflict her. Rachel designates Guard Armor as her Orange Mode Target. Rachel uses Battle Hymn of the Imperium! Rachel starts singing! "Our hopes are built on nothing less! Than the Emperor's blood and righteousness!" All allies who hear her get 1d6+7 temporary HP until Rachel stops singing, or the temporary HP is depleted by incoming damage (roll once and apply the value to all allies). 15. Figuring that Proditor is most likely to be debilitated by the enemy's attacks based on prior experience, Rachel uses Feel No Pain on him, granting the alien two stacks of Guts. Loadout https://docs.google.com/document/d/1l2jxcNJV1QmvzgjgyfeoAxvdZB1ECuXVlP2zszg1YJg/edit?usp=sharing
  16. Rachel follows Ignia to the wellspring, and prepares her Medicae kit. Until the source of mental influence upon her can be located, she's abstaining from the use of her weaponry, and in fact has left it behind, but she should still be able to provide medical assistance as needed.
  17. "I- you can- That's-" Mirri sputters, staring at the Ender-Printer in shock, "I didn't think it was possible to machine Bes'kar. It's not... No one's ever successfully worked it except by hand before. This... I don't even know..." In a bit of a daze, Mirri explains to Law the complicated, esoteric, and tradition-steeped methods of forging Mandalorian Iron ore into the absurdly durable Bes'kar used to form the plates of her armor.
  18. Music fills the mall, faint at first, but growing louder, accompanied by the stomp of Deadite feet. "ARE YOU READY TO GET LOUD?" Around a corner comes a Deadite who looks more like a thin, pale, emaciated woman than a walking corpse. She's wearing a purple leotard and leopard print leg warmers, and her blond hair is styled into a spiky mullet, as she moves along with staggering, unsteady footwork that results in a curious shuffle. "YEAH!" The Deadite crowd begins to follow her, rank after rank, grooving along in perfect sequence. There's plenty of the usual skeletons and zombies, of course, as well as a smattering of other Deadites scattered throughout. And they're all dancing. "ARE YOU READY TO GET FUUUUUNKY?" She raises one arm to the sky, down to her waist, and into the sky again, in the classic, corny disco move. "YEAH!" "WE'VE BEEN CHALLENGED!" She spins to the left. "YEAH!" "TO A GROOOOOVY DANCE BATTLE!" She spins to the right. "YEAH!" "AND WHAT WILL WE DO?" She thrusts both hands in the air, making the 'rock on' gesture "DANCE 'TILL THE DEAD WAKE!" The Dancing Deadite horde shouts gleefully. "IT'S TIME FOR A MONSTER MASH!" She crows. A blur of motion fills the air before her, and five colorful figures land, bits of their skin and muscle flaking off to reveal their undead nature, before striking a flamboyant pose. "NECRODANCER, ALLOW US THIS FIRST DANCE! WE'LL BRING THE HOUSE DOWN, WE SWEAR IT!" The Necrodancer appears to consider this for a moment. "VERY WELL! THE FIRST DANCE GOES TO... THE NECRO FORCE!" "GULDO!" The short, green one shouts, combat rolling into position and striking a snappy beat with his tap-dancing shoes. "BURTER!" The tall blue one leaps into position, standing ready... "JEICE!" The red one leaps after, grabbing onto the blue one's hand and causing them both to spin about, keeping each other balanced as they strike a pose behind Guldo at a 45 degree angle from the ground. "REEEEECOOOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEEE" Screams the largest, relatively normal-looking one, as he whirls into place to the right of the trio, standing delicately en pointe despite looking like he weighs the better part of 250 pounds, all of it muscle. "GINYU!" Shouts the last, a purple, horn-headed one, as he leaps into position on the left. A DJ stand appears before him, and he shuffles records rapidly, before slamming a set down. The music stops. "NECRO FORCE RULES! THE DEAD WILL DANCE!" Initiative: Status: Theme Music: Ginyu Tokusentai
  19. "Oh, Sithspit," Mirri curses, "It's not just the electronics. Something must've had an odd chemical reaction with my plates. I... I can't fix this with just some quick work. These plates will need to be melted down and reforged. Blast it. Bes'kar is usually pretty good at resisting that sort of thing. And it got into the undersuit too? Well, better that than my skin."
  20. "Uh... I'm pretty sure whatever gave me my spider powers is still in my blood, and I don't want to leave that at a normal hospital," Spider-Man explains awkwardly, "So I usually get that stuff taken care of with them. We do have actual medical doctors on staff who are trustworthy. But I figured since I have an enhanced immune system, I should be fine without the flu shot, I've been real busy, and..." Fortunately, Harry is at least certain this is just the flu, not some kind of bizarre super-virus. Danielle looks at the assembled heroes a bit reluctantly, but swiftly gets over whatever trepidation she might be suffering. "All right. I'll call him," She takes a few steps back from the group, and looks up to the sky, "Brightwind! I need you!" She calls out, and the sky answers. A pillar of rainbow energy descends from the ceiling, passing through it without breaking it, and slamming into the ground in an iridescent cascade. After a few seconds the energy dissipates, revealing a beautiful, white, winged destrier, standing in the center of an intricate, runic circle inscribed into the floor in a pattern of soot. The horse steps over to Danielle and snorts, nosing her hand, as she grins despite her recent trying experience, "Brightwind... Whatever you're calling your group. You guys, Brightwind. Say hi, big guy." Brightwind snorts again, sounding somewhat unimpressed. Aquila finds this whole sequence vaguely familiar, but is frustratingly unable to think of what it reminds him of.
  21. "Greetings," The aging officer disguises any reactions he might have towards these new arrivals expertly, confining his response to a polite nod in their direction, hands clasped behind his back as he stands ramrod straight, "I am Captain Saejik. Though I understand things are going to be a bit less formal around here than I've previously been accustomed to, so the use of my first name, Conrad, would also be acceptable. The good... women and cat here have filled me in on the general details of what we'll be facing." He looks at his bodyguards and sighs, shaking his head a bit, "Relax, boys. We've only just met, and they're from other universes entirely. If they already want to assassinate me, this endeavor is over before it even begins." The bodyguards show zero inclination to relax.
  22. "I... could call Brightwind," Danielle offers, "I may have picked up a magic winged horse at some point, and he's definitely faster than a car, especially indoors like this. But these zombies are... There's something strange about them. There's more to them than the usual walking corpses." "There aren't any black water lines or other pipes large enough for us to travel through," Jocasta adds, "And unless the building plans are horrifyingly inaccurate, we won't be fitting through the ventilation ducts either." 18 v 13 success! Sha'Tith does not suffer any unfortunate side effects from the Taco Bell beef.
  23. With the help of the group, and Spider-Man's super strength, the Macy's is fortified and provisioned for a siege. (If there's anything further y'all want to do to FORTIFY THIS POSITION feel free to post it.) Jocasta and Scout Skipper rejoin the group, and with Alan phoning it in share what they've learned from the security cameras. There's concentrations of undead in the Food Court, the clothes wing, and the sporting goods store; Doctor Octopus herself is holed up in the laser tag arena. You could go and attack her now... but then she'd be able to call on the undead elsewhere for reinforcements, and the civilians hiding there would almost certainly be doomed. You could clear the zones one by one, which would be the safest for you, but not for the besieged nerds. Or... you could split up... Citing that he still has the flu, Spider-Man offers to stay in the Macy's and protect the civilians. Jocasta offers to stay as well, since being immune to becoming a zombie makes her ideal for holding the front line with minimal assistance.
  24. "I'm certain you would like to die for your actions," Rachel looks at Asgore with a sort of surprised understanding, "It's... easier that way. No regrets. No problems. No consequences... for yourself. You would be safe from these things. But what of Asriel? What of Toriel? Do you think they would prefer your death? To go on without you, as they have these past years? No. I'm afraid, Asgore, king of the MONSTERs, that you will have to take the more challenging road this day. The same road I now must walk. Dying for your sins is easy. Living with them? Far harder. And yet... It is what we must do."
  25. Vakama follows Travis outside to examine the tank, looking at the powder, the shells, the barrel, and even watching a quick test-fire into the lava moat. "I think it could destroy a mask," The Turaga hazards, "But only if it was clamped down somehow, forcing it to take the full impact. Otherwise, it would be thrown back, absorbing enough of the force to likely avoid harm." Travis might note that a few matoran have taken discreet sketches of the tank, especially its treads and engine, as he shows off its features.
