  1. Oh, I was just going with it as something he has a fair bit of difficulty with, but can still do in a very limited way. Now that you mention it though, I'll actually be moving that point to Manipulation
  2. Edmond reached into his pocket, and pulled out six of the business cards. They were slightly crumpled, but hopefully that would not be an issue. He held then up before the man, inviting a response. Actually, some people may not have seen them... He turned to those behind him. "The cards say that we need to head to this place, and say 'Harlequin' to the bouncer." Turning once more to the man, he said: "So you want to discuss this further when we get there?"
  3. "You know who we are, then? I'm assuming that you were the one who summoned us?" The man before Edmond was fairly disturbing in his general demeanor. Edmond frowned, and stepped back. "You don't need introductions, correct? So what do you need us to do?" He may wish to stop speaking in riddles, considering how poorly we did on the first...especially since it wasn't that hard...
  4. So not everyone's human, at least in the sense I'm familiar with... Who was this odd man, who seemed to know the ragtag bunch? "Wait. You're a book? I was about to ask who you were, but I suppose that's irrelevant now...How nice to meet you! I've never met a talking book before." What possessed Edmond to diverge along this whimsical, if slightly sarcastic tangent, we may never know. All that is certain is that he did so. "Do you know who we are?"
  5. "Nothing much of interest here...Theo, I don't think you need to take any of what's here. I think there was something sitting on top of the box when you picked it up? You ignored it, so I assumed it was of minimal importance. Did anyone pick it up?" He shuddered. Edmond made his way to the entrance of the alley, and peeked out. Assuming there was nothing obviously threatening, he made his way out into the street, planning to head north.
  6. Apparently I don't stick to my resolutions. Here's a prospective character:
  7. Edmond stared in utter astonishment as Theo once more attempted to obtain the can of tea. Edmond himself had never been one to partake in stimulatory chemicals, but when Lexiel had spoken, he had felt the need to give up...something. It was disturbing that her aura had so little effect on this man. "I'm fairly certain that cannabis is a drug...even something like coffee would be considered a stimulant drug. While cannabis may not be among the most detrimental drugs, it is a drug." Perhaps he wasn't affected because he doesn't consider it to be a drug...still odd though. "In any case, Lexiel, it's probably fine to let him have it right? As long as it doesn't get in the way of missions, Theo's recreational habits are his own business. On to the mission at hand. We obviously were transported here for a reason. Someone wants us here. Therefore, they would have a method of assuring that they could get into contact with us. I believe that's what these business cards are for, out method of contact. So we need to get to University way and fifty-second street and say... harlequin...to the bouncer." He paused, and looked out over the ledge. "The location appears to be somewhat north of here. The rooftops don't appear to lead that way, so we should get down to street level. We do have some rather unorthodox appearances...", he turned his gaze to the angel and the fishman. "If we meet any trouble, we can try to pass off what we are unable to hide as prosthetics or costumes. If that doesn't work..." He left it at that. After he had laid forth his thoughts, he stepped over to the fire escape leading down to the side of the building, and began to climb. Edmond climbs down the fire escape.
  8. "So, there appears to be no way to continue north, though there is a building to the east. I'm thinking that we should head to the bar listed on these business cards, over the roofs, preferentially. The sirens have stopped though, if we want to go to ground level by way of the fire escape. There's also the door into the building of course...They left it open, so they might not be concerned if we enter..." Edmond made his way to where Halley stood, carefully avoiding the narcotics strewn underfoot. He looked out at the street signs, straining his eyes to see into the distance. "So it looks like fifty-second street would be a ways north of here..." Edmond looks out over the rooftops to see if there appears to be a way to actually continue north to the bar if they were to jump to the building to the east.
  9. Interesting. Caseless ammo was a thing back in the late 21st and 22nd century, right? Edmond popped one of the rounds out of the clip and hefted it. It weighed about what a lead projectile normally does, and noting nothing of further interest, he put the bullet back into the clip. He then placed the clip in his backpack. At some point, well hopefully have someone around who can tell us about this... "Oh. So we probably want to go to the bar then? I would advocate for roof hopping for now. We don't know much about this place, but it's quite possible that some of us might draw attention." Specifically Halley and Lexiel...
  10. That was surprising. After the strange group had retreated inside the building, Edmond stepped over and picked up the ammunition clip and inspected it. Seems to be gunpowder based, probably lead... Edmond inspects the clip. Are there any words on the side (manufacturer) and how many bullets are there?
  11. Edmond listened anxiously as the sirens stopped. He thought he could hear the faint crackle of radios. We left quite the small mess back there, didn't we... He cautiously walked past the presumably homeless folk, keeping his hands visible at all times. They seemed rather nervous, and would doubtless fight if the group overstayed its welcome. When he had reached the edge of the roof, he saw Lexiel doing...something. Glowing, and talking to a group of what appeared to be drug addicts. Edmond hopped down, and surveyed the rooftop. "Where exactly are we going? We need to figure out why we're here...I'm assuming that someone called us here, and they wouldn't have brought us to the alleyway unless there was some guarantee that we could find them...Is there anything in that box you picked up earlier, Lexiel? Something back there was probably a lead for what we need to do..." He reached into his pocket and pulled out the business card from before. "There's an address here, and some sort of passcode. It might be what we need..."
  12. Edmond watched as the angel, Lexiel, summoned a troupe of some form of creature. In addition to assisting with pulling up the fire escape, they had found an auspicious looking black bag hidden amongst the piles of rubbish. "Huh. Odd that something like that would be under a pile of trash...What do you think might be inside of it?" After saying this, he followed the group to the rooftop off to the north
  13. Woops... Edmond looked up as someone introduced themselves. An angel? Hmm. We had another of those somewhere, didn't we... "Nice to meet you." He turned his attention towards the pen-like object. There was nothing of note on the outside, and it seemed to be made of fairly cheap plastic. Probably hiding something inside. He stuck it in his pocket for further investigation at a later time. He stood up, and heard another unfamiliar voice. The owner seemed to be of the rather impulsive variety. "It might be reasonable to wait a moment, don't you think? We have many experienced people here, so it might be best to come to a consensus before we actually decide where to go..."
  14. Edmond peered in, and saw the small pen shaped object. Having failed in his attempts to open the cabinet, he settled on a new tactic. He turned the cabinet on its side, shifting it in the hopes of liberating the object. Edmond turns the cabinet to try and drop out the pen shaped object. If it rolls out, he carefully taps it with his foot, and presuming nothing happnes, picks it up and investigates further.
  15. There was a small hole, perhaps once holding a knob of some kind, covered with adhesive tape. Slightly worrying...perhaps something that needs to be kept sealed? They wouldn't have used plain wood then... After a moment of uncertainty, Edmond carefully uncovered the hole. He stepped back a moment, making sure that nothing obvious was leaking out, and then peered in. Without putting his eye too close of course. Edmond carefully peels away duct tape and investigates.
  16. "Seems like we have two primary options. Going down to that roof with the people, or entering the building. I would advocate for entering the building, but I'd like to hear what other people think. Also, does anyone know what we actually need to do here?" After stating his opinion, Edmond made his way over to the dilapidated cabinet that he had noticed. Odd...He carefully inspected it from all sides, searching it for anything obviously dangerous. A cabinet sitting on top of the roof was...unusual to say the least. After he had ascertained whether there was any danger in messing with the cabinet, he attempted to open it. He hoped that any locking mechanism might have rusted long ago. Edmond checks the cabinet for danger, and then tries to open it.
  17. Harlequin? Edmond followed to the roof, as that seemed to be the direction in which the group was proceeding. Some unfamiliar faces... "Since we're going to be working together, and I don't recognize some of you, I'm Edmond. That will have to suffice as an introduction for now." Edmond looked out across the rooftop, taking note of the positions of other buildings, and searching the sky. Edmond searches the cityscape the sky for anything of interest. (Distances to buildings, flying vehicles, anything on top of other roofs, etc.)
  18. "No idea exactly, but we appear to be in an allyway of some sort on a mediumly advanced world. You were just minding your own business when you arrived here, right?" he shouted. Edmond sighed, just a bit confused, and looked around. The amount of trash was unnerving, but standard for certain parts of Old Earth history. So...some sort of...twenty-first to -twenty-second century world... He grabbed the odd paper cards on the ground, and took a look at them before pocketing them. As he heard the sound of approaching sirens, he clambered up the fire escape. "Those are police sirens...", he paused for a moment. From what he had seen, Visrii was from a world entirely of magic. "Think royal guards or something. We probably don't want them finding us." Edmond takes a look around, grabs the paper cards, takes a look at them, and makes his way up the Fire Escape. Once he had arrived at the platform where Psymund had landed, he stopped again. "Should we continue up, or break into the presumably abandoned buildings?"
  19. Oh goodie! Well, I've got some stuff for a character, and I'll edit it in here once the world information is up, because backstory is still not a sure thing.
  20. "I really am sorry about that...I was going back to get some of my personal belongings, and I was locked in." Edmond looked around, and took notice of the spheres sitting out on the table. There were quite a few of them arrayed across the table, small metal objects, humming on their own. Interesting...but completely unfamiliar to me... "So did you find those, or are they something of yours? Do you mind telling me what they do?" Tesla soon in a strange sort of magical disappearance. She had looked as though she were listening to something far away, but that was of no importance now. Abandoned once again, Edmond decided to invest the time to make a thorough search of the Engine bay, consolidating what he found. There were a wide selection of basic tools, some strewn across the ground, others in rusting cabinets. He brought those into the office that did not house Tesla's projects, and arranged them by type and function. He hesitated a moment, then placed two screwdrivers of different type and size, a set of small pliers, and a small utility knife. There are others, and seeing as people seem to be disappearing left and right, I might as well be prepared...He seemed satisfied with this justification, and moved on. After he had brought all of the accumulated records that he could find into the Tesla's office--still no real blueprints, just reports--he sat down and waited. Edmond poofs away to Shadowrun
  21. Edmond entered the engineering bay, passing two unfamiliar faces. He waved hesitantly, and made his way over to one of the offices. He poked his head in, and saw Tesla at the desk. "Sorry about disappearing for a while...I was stuck in the servant's quarters when the jump began. Have you discovered anything?"
  22. Edmond obtained Apprentice's Tome "Thanks again, and I'll be sure to keep an eye out. It was a pleasure to meet you." He took the book, put it in his pack, and arose. He closed the door to his claimed room, and began to search around the castle. Edmond heads to the Engineering bay.
  23. Edmond laughed nervously. "Yeah, sorry about that. Take some of the gold too, if you don't mind. And, I will make certain to pick some stuff up. Anything in particular, or should I just use my best judgement?" He handed over the watch, and pushed one of the ingots towards Marisa. Edmond then carefully put all of the unused goods back into his pack. "Actually, I should explain a bit about the watch. It's a hybrid of sorts between analog and something called an atomic clock. The physical apparatus is mainly for back-up, and for a bit of antique flair. The specifics of an atomic clock aren't really that important, but it should be exceptionally accurate. Also, there are a small selection of electronic sensors that can be accessed with that small knob on the side. Most useful will probably be the compass and vitals monitoring, mainly just heartbeat, blood oxygen, and pressure. Believe it or not, it's pretty minimalist where I come from." "Anyway...you said you'll come check up on how we're doing from time to time? See how we're doing?" He smiled and stretched his arms.
  24. Oh. This had not been the item Edmond had expected Marisa to take interest in, nor was it one that he had really wanted to part with. "Well, basically it uses a high amperage electrical discharge inside the body of the machine, the plasma from which is expelled out the nozzle at high velocity." He gestured to the nozzle, a small gun-like apparatus with a shielding parabola and a tube running back to the body of the machine. "This box here is the power supply, and contains many of the electrical components. That's pretty much the whole of it. Basically it creates a ton of heat using electricity, and can be used to join or cut metal. It's quite useful in my profession...Though I've been using it as a weapon, that's not really a good idea...and I really need to pick up some nice goggles. This thing is able to shield most of the glare, but if you're not careful, you could blind yourself for a few hours..." Edmond had been hoping to be able to find a better weapon as soon as possible, and then relegate his welder to its proper function, as a tool. He wasn't even certain that he would be willing to part with something that formed such a fundamental aspect of his life. "So yes, it basically joins metal or cuts it with electrical power. You could use it on other stuff like stone, but on certain substances it would probably not work, in the case of certain ceramics, or completely incinerate the material, in the case of plastics. I take it that you're probably not interested in the other items?"
