Yeah the base game is free but there are so many expansions which kinda turn me off but i got it anyways, maybe i will try it and grab some dlc on a bundle sale someday if i like the game enough. EDIT: On that note since you are experienced with the game, there is a 50% sale on dynasty starter and love bundle dlcs, which one is the more important in your opnion?

I decided to make it a Sylveon! Having a fairy would be nice for my teams I think! EDIT: Ah I changed my mind, it is gonna be a Vaporeon. I already have Gardevoir for a fairy type, Vaporeon would give me a special attacking water type which I need since my Quagsire is more of a physical wall using only Earthquake.

Oh hello there, it has been a while. I took a small break from playing daily because university and a D&D game happened but I have had a new oportunity to play again finally! So our team members as of now are: So as you can see we have quite a selection of Pokemon to choose from for our battles. Especially now that our late-game Pokemon are starting to evolve! Story-wise we are at the point where one would fight with with Noel but then Team Meteor happens and you end up fighting a double battle followed by Sirius. I have tried these battles once, the double battle is no problem but then Sirius' Chandelure destroyed me. He has Energy Ball and Heat wave and he one-shot everyone on our team. Next time I will try to set stealth rocks and then sucker punch him and hope to kill. As for shinies, I have not found any new but that's mostly because I spent most of my time inside training. A shiny Wooper and a shiny Tepig are still available though so if anyone is interested to add a new member to my team, tell me and one of those shinies is yours!

Gyarados is one of my favourite Pokemon but the problem is that I use him ALL THE TIME and kinda wanna mix things up a little. I will take it if you want any of those shinies though.

Alrighty, new update for anyone that is interested. As you can see from the original post I have not found any new shinies since last time. Well kinda. I DID find a shiny Pancham but then I accidentaly ran as I was trying to throw a Poke Ball so there is that... Story wise we just arived at Apophyll beach and it is time for us to climb the volcano to fight Cal. Our team as it stands is: Lordy(Minior) LVL 39 with Take down, Selfdestruct, Stealth rock, Power Gem Klang LVL 40 with Gear Grind, Automize, Mirror Shot, Charge Beam Megan(Pupitar) LVL 40 with Iron Head, Rock Slide, Dragon Dance, Outrage Decidueey LVL 41 with Sucker Punch, Razor Leaf, Synthesis, Spirit Shackle Karna(Gardevoir) LVL 40 with Calm Mind, Substitute, Psychic, Draining Kiss Drakyle(Deino) LVL 40 with Crunch, Work Up, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse Vespiqueen LVL 40 with Air Slash, Struggle Bug, Toxic, Heal Order Crimson(Snorunt) LVL 40 with Frost Breath, Bite, Protec, Ice Shard Ok a few notes I have to make here. As you can see I decided to make Karna a Gardevoir instead of a Gallade because I thought a Psychic/Fairy type would cover our weaknesses better. Also yes I did play the Voltorb game until I had 7000 to buy a Substitute TM and my high score was lvl 7, have not beat that yet though. What I like about our roster here is that every single Pokemon we have has contributed one way or another in some major battle. The easy way for me is usually finding a good oportunity to swap to Megan and dragon dance 3-4 times then one-shot everything but since Vespiqueen is so tanky she can also take a hit and toxic a key target and then stall with Heal Orders all day long. I would say the least contribution so far in key battles is Drakyle but I expected that, I mean he is still stage 1 evolution fighting fully evolved lvl 45 Pokemon, when he finally evolves though I suspect he is gonna wreck some shit. Finally, let me say that we are at the point that we NEED some good water type Pokemon (especially before Cal) and also we need to throw some fire and fight types in the mix. My plan since the traffic in this thread has fallen a bit, if I have not gotten a fire or fight type from any of you guys is to probably catch and use Emboar. As for a good water type I have no idea yet, so if you wanna help me out with some rare/unusuall/your favourite/quirky water type Pokemon, one of those shinies from my OP is yours. xD

So I am gonna write an update log here to tell you guys how it is going. The Pokemon I am currently training are Klink, Vespiqueen, Lordy(Mnior), Crimson(Snorunt), Dartix, Drakyle(Deino) and Megan(Pupitar). I also have a male Ralts called Karna but I have not trained him yet since I am waiting to get his evolution stone first. The Pokemon so far are solid with excelent potential for late game but until the more powerfull evolve (looking at you Drakyle) we are gonna have a rough time. In general we have some glaring weaknesses namely to water and fighting type attacks but Karna should help a lot at that when he is ready for action. I got dissapointed a bit when my egg I got from giving the Growlithe egg to the policeman was a Pawniard since now I am swiming in dark type pokemon. >< At the moment I am at the stage after beating Shelly and have rock smash. It was a tough fight since my team is so bad against water but we managed to pull it through. Mvp was Megan utilizing teluric seed and rock slide and my Vespiqueen with her buffed up heal order because of the forest. Corey's Crobat was super tough too but I managed to get him low enough with Drakyle's Dragon Rages and then finished him off using Crimson's Ice shard. Also finding the shiny Tropius was such a surprise and a scare since it could have whirlwind and I could have lost it but fortunately it has dragon dance instead, pretty cool. xD

So my idea is to find a list of all the pokemon trainers that are in pokemon games (like this one https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_Trainer#List_of_Trainer_classes), pick a random one and try to roleplay as that class. The poblem I see with this is that you could get like a bug catcher for example which would kinda be a monotype run at that point but you could always reroll. EDIT: Another idea I just had is if you like fan-theories to use a team like Clefable+Gengar(Gengar is probably Clefable's shadow), Garchomp+Sharpedo(Garchomp was probably Sharpedo's 3rd evolution), Butterfree+Venomoth(Caterpie was probably supposed to evolve to Venomoth and Venonat to Butterfree based on their color schemes) etc. You could also place a restriction on yourself that you have to use one pokemon after the other that are in a pair for example when you have Clefable out and it faints you HAVE to switch to Gengar or sth like that.

@Gengar768 I see. I usualy soft reset before getting my Ditto until I get a pretty decent one but it is never perfect obviously. Good enough for me though. PS. Nice avatar
