Yeah, I don't think that needs to be there.

Why are the Pokeballs differently colored? And what're the blue (and green) bars at the bottom?

    3. Rot8er_ConeX

      Rot8er_ConeX

The Pokeballs are differently colored based on the Gen the Pokemon came from - I'm using the same color scheme the Gen VI National Pokedex does.

As for the blue/green bars at the bottom, that's the base stat total relative to the highest possible BST (Mega Rayquaza/Mega Mewtwo)

      Oh wow, that's really neat.

  1. Pokemon Entropy version 0.7.2 is out! Happy Thanksgiving! Known bugs: Anyone who downloads the demo should read this spoiler: Changelog (0.7.2):
  2. That moment when you realize that by clicking the trash can icon, you're only sending something to the "trash" folder, not outright deleting it. So the prior versions of Entropy, a currently-999-MB zip file, were sitting in my Google Drive taking up space...

  3. This project is not dead. I have an update coming within a few days if my wife's health allows me to be on the computer long enough to input the balancing tweaks Wave suggested. This update is going to come with a huge overhaul to Generation Battles. Previously, only the following items would change to match the generation: - Type Effectiveness chart (Fairy type moves become Normal in gens below VI, and Steel and Dark in Gen I become Electric and Normal respectively) - certain type Pokemon being immune to certain status conditions according to the generation. - Hidden Abilities don't work in Gens below V, and pokemon with an HA are assigned a non-hidden ability based on their personality value. - weather triggered by abilities does not lower its turn counter while the generation is below VI. Weather triggered by moves lowers turn counter regardless of generation, and weather triggered by overworld weather doesn't lower it ever. - Abilities cease to work in Gens below III. - Held items other than Mega Stones cease to work in Gens below II. In a recent update, I made it so that critical hits worked by using the Gen I Speed-based formula in Gen I battles. Now, the following updates are being added: - Gen I battles will have a stat called Special, which will be used to calculate both SpAtk and SpDef. This is calculated by looking at the Pokemon's base stats. If the SpDef is lower than the SpAtk, then the Pokemon's SpDef is used; otherwise the SpAtk is used. In battle, both the SpAtk stat boosts and the SpDef ones apply to Special, up until a maximum of six boosts in either direction. A special graphic is displayed during Gen I battles if you have the stat boost indicators on, to help players understand. - Any move that changes base power or accuracy between official generations now has that change reflected in the Generation Battles engine. For moves that changed mid-gen, I used the earliest value from within the generation that it changed. Moves that are similar but were introduced after a change - for example, Low Kick had a change in accuracy between Gens I and II, but Grass Knot wasn't introduced until Gen III - get changed accordingly. Note that changes between PP values between generations are not reflected. - Moves of a type that gets changed because of Gen now display as the proper type - for example, Moonblast displays as Normal in gens below VI. The one exception is Attack-tics, Delta Hawlucha's signature move. This now means that the only real difference between the mechanics of the official games' generations and their GB counterparts is the PP of moves that had their PP changed, and the base stats of Pokemon that had their stats changed (between Gens V and VI mostly).
  4. Yay, a redhead! XD. I have what I consider to be a narrower definition of "redhead" than most people I encounter, and you qualify IMO.
  5. I think wytch is saying that Ralts was axed, and used to be obtainable before the first gym.
  6. I haven't edited the folder name in a while. The zip file has the correct version number in its name, the folder inside the zip file doesn't.
  7. just saw a picture of Jasmine. is it just me or does she NOT look like a Steel trainer?

      not too much no....

      pbood2

i agree that she doesn't look like a steel trainer. I would have said she was normal type at first.

  8. That is the exact same error someone else posted before...It's working fine on my end. Literally, that error is telling me that some Pokemon's gender ratio is missing in the Pokemon data. I don't get it...
  9. Your personal thoughts on the idea of merging the two Nidoran species into one, like Meowstic, with gender-dependent evolutions?

    1. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

At this point, I'd leave it. They a bit too similar anyway and this way you don't change the evo's they have had forever now. I dunno, just seems like a lot of work for something that ultimately doesn't really change them that much. I mean their movepools would need to redesgined since they are based on them having a Level-up evo etc etc... it would be a stupid amount of work for not really any gain.

    2. Combat

      Combat

It would have been smart to do all of those years ago, but it would be pretty hard to do now since they are definitive species. Of course, back in generation One, there weren't genders to begin with, so Game Freak kind of created the issue on accident.

    3. Rot8er_ConeX

      Rot8er_ConeX

I'm saying "gender dependent evolutions" as in, males would evolve into this at this level, and females would evolve into that at the same level - like Wormadam/Mothim.

But yeah, I tend to agree. I think they should have done it when they created genders, but now it's too late.

  10. Considering making an attack called Pool Noodle. It would be low base power (like, maybe 30 BP?) but have an 100% chance to confuse the target. Problem is, who should learn it?

  11. *sigh* why is loving someone so complicated?

  12. I have (well "had", since I never use him anymore) a character that currently goes by the name Denmark "Mark" Traytantom. Back when I first made him, though, he was Matt X, quite literally me from another universe. In his original incarnation, he had the following powers: transforming into any canon form of Luigi and using his powers. The fact that the form had to be "canon" sounds like a restriction, right? Not really, since this version of him worked for Nintendo and was friends with Miyamoto. He could quite literally call up Nintendo and say "hey Shiggy, I need a version of Luigi with these powers, stat!" teleporting out of this universe and back in at another spot. This sounds fine as well, until you add in the fact that the place where he is in the meantime is made out of philotes, which want to be shaped into objects. This means that if he knows exactly how something works, he could make it out of thin air. He was also the only human who could touch an ancient artifact called the Gosarch with their skin. If anyone else tried it, it would cause the universe to explode. Except I distinctly remember writing a story with him where his friend touched it and then it merely started them on an adventure, so this character even gets points for breaking his own universe's rules. He was the subject of a prophecy slightly older than the Gosarch, but I forgot what it was about. I do remember that after the prophecy was fulfilled, he ended up dying. Except not really. Somehow, his soul and that of his best friend became part of the Gosarch, and when it was placed inside the core of a planet-sized computer thousands of years later, it ended up making the computer sentient and also revived the two souls inside a virtual reality inside the computer. There was an adventure to find a way to get the two new physical bodies, and after that had been accomplished, Matt - but not the friend - ended up falling through a rift in time and landed in medieval times, shrunken down to 1/16th of his height during a time when fairies were real and being hunted down. He ended up befriending a young woman and she helped him and some real fairies escape to North America. He then became the prophet that told the very prophecy he'd fulfilled in his birth time. Honestly, it could still make for an interesting story, if he wasn't so overpowered and if the three time frames had a little more cohesion between them.
  13. Never realized until I was working on the follower sprite for the Primal Dialga-colored form, just how dinosaur-like Dialga looks from behind. And from the front he looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. They did a good job of conveying the concept of "time" with his physiology.

  14. when will we find a doctor that believes us when we say "pills don't work on her because she has gastroperesis"?

  15. Bump. Update in the first post. Already done a minor code change since the update. Not a bugfix, so will wait until the next release.
  16. HUGE UPDATE TOMORROW. (I'd set it up tonight, but I left my laptop cord in my wife's hospital room) for a sneak peak at just how huge the update is, here's the changelog:
  17. I just overheard someone telling the closest thing I have to a worst enemy that "¿Como esta?" means "I'm fine" in "European". On the one hand, I enjoy hearing her being fed false information, but on the other hand the information has so much FAIL in it that it's taking everything I have to not correct it.

  18. If a Pokemon is created knowing mages it doesn't learn by level up - for example, Egg Moves - the Move Relearner can still teach them to the Pokemon. If the Pokemon evolves knowing moves that the evolution doesn't learn, does the Move Relearner teach them back, too?

    1. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

I'm pretty sure they don't. I might be wrong though... only one way to find out.

    2. Commander

      Commander

If a pokemon knew an egg move at one point in its life through breeding, it can be retaught in Gen VI, but not in any earlier Gens.

    3. Rot8er_ConeX

      Rot8er_ConeX

I'm not after an egg move. I'm after something like this:

You level an Eevee until it learns Baby Doll Eyes. Then you evolve it into a Glaceon. Glaceon doesn't learn Baby Doll Eyes at all. You then need someone on your team to know Ice Beam, so you make Glaceon forget BDE. Can the Move Relearner teach BDE back?

  19. Pokemon Entropy engine beta 0.6.2 is out! Known bugs: Anyone who downloads the demo should read this spoiler: Changelog (0.6.2):
