Ok I don't want this thread blowing up with pointless arguing over intricate detail. I will not make specific subtiers, but instead make a potential to where people may think it goes, and it stays in a certain tier. For instance, why I put Turtwig line as an A is because of the potential it has for sweeping the the power. That is not as good as Bulbasaur's versatility. I'll put tiers but not subtiers, only what people may think as for a subtier range. Turtwig could go B+ to A, whereas Venusaur can go from A- to A+. I am really tired for now, so I made four or five starters to give a preview. Will get a tad more intricate as time goes on.

Alucard (Gengar) Alucard woke up from his unconscious state with a splitting headache. He looked around to see the two dragons talking amongst themselves in a corner. There was a circle of psychic and esper-sensitive Pokemon around him, many clad in white robes. He rubbed his head in pain. "Oh, what on earth happened..." One particular mage split the circle and walked through it. "You had an evil spirit possessing you. I felt your heart while we extracted the spirit from the Stone. You better have a good rebuke for your transformation though, because the dragons are most displeased, and they do not believe me on matters, and for that matter I am one of the newer members." "Oh why...my head," Alucard muttered to himself. "I need to talk to Ulkina now." He attempted to vanish through a wall, but something seemed to change in him, as his head panged hard and he bounced off the walls instead of disappearing through them. "Urgh. Damn my luck."

Well I'll compile the starters list tomorrow, and edit it as needed when E15 comes out. I would like to talk about a couple of hidden gems that some may overlook. Machamp: (A- to This guy is balls off the walls if you use Trick Room setup, but he's pretty versatile in the moves he can learn. Status spam? Guts can handle it. Anything else? No Guard Dynamic Punch. No Guard can destroy teams in Double Battles when it's paired with a fast Pokemon with an OHKO move. One of the few mons that can naturally learn Knock Off, which is pretty useful in certain portions of the game with annoying items on certain mons. Has access to priority through breeding in Bullet Punch. Ok bulk. Noivern: (Solid A) Noivern is not the prettiest weapon of Reborn's arsenal, but the thing is an absolute beast as support. Access to Super Fang, self-recovery, a high-chance flinch move in Air Slash, and most importantly, Tailwind, which can make the hardest of battles eons easier by making your Pokemon able to outspeed the opponent most of the time. Frisk is nice for scouting, and Telepathy is nice tech for Surf, Sludge Wave, and Discharge abusers on your team. Excadrill: (A+ hands down) Although it's Steel type moves are lacking in Iron Head, with access to Swords Dance and EQ real early, this guy is an easy boss. When paired with Machamp, it becomes an OHKO machine, and becomes a near sweeper when paired with Noivern. It's meh speed can be tossed aside after a Tailwind boost, but for everyday wear and tear, this one is a king. Mold Breaker and Sand Force are both good abilities depending on what you want in coverage. Staraptor (B to B+) With access to either Intimidate or Reckless, both of these abilities are really good again depending on what your team needs. Has a good attack and better speed than most of the sweeper Pokemon you have later in the game. Would be insanely OP if obtainable earlier. Coverage in Close Combat, helping this guy dent the Pokemon that would normally wall him. Ninetales (A easily) Not so much of a hidden gem. This one is available at a decent point in the game, fairly obtainableafter three badges. Drought is good for powering up fire users on your team and allowing Pokemon weak to Water to stand a chance. Natural access to burn and confusion make this Pokemon one of the good status users on Reborn. EDIT: I ACTUALLY LIKE DONDON'S IDEA OF RATING POKEMON BY AREA. I THINK ORGANIZING THEM INTO TIERS BY USABILITY IN THE GAME IS A GOOD SYSTEM. LOOKING FORWARD TO CONTRIBUTIONS.

Well, I'll voice an opinion for the furries. I think you know where this is going. R34. That is all.

Can sum up Reborns and my feels for each. Squirtle: Bout fuggin time. Totodile: Bout fuggin time. Now that Life Orb exploit is a thing... Turtwig: Meh, because it's one of the first self-sufficient starters, with Curse Synthesis set. Fennekin: Bout fuggin time. MUDKIP: B-BUT HAVEN'T YOU HEARD I LIEK MUDKIP? (rip buddy) Tentacool Staryu: (See Fennekin) Shroomish: Pls no Spore ab00se. Larvesta: replace Kricketot with this and we got a game. Frillish: Same boat as Turtwig. Fine. Axew: HOLY SHT GET THE DRAGUN D.DANCE HYEP TRAIN ROLLING. Vullaby: Bout fuggin time Drilbur: Good to reduce it to limit. Too solid and available maybe a tad early. Sneasel: Bout fuggin time Lapras: Bout fuggin time. Gastly: NNNNNNEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! Hippopotas: Solid enough to debut.

After reading the thread for Rejuvination, I wanted to form a thread of certain Pokemon that are good in certain situations and can pull their weight in certain parts, or most parts of the game. I will include all the starters at least, determining an opinion, and a decent reason why. Some Pokemon will be labeled differently, but this is how I will score them -S Rank: The best Pokemon in the game that self-sufficient or can wreck teams by themselves, or stop certain combos, or are crux in certain important battles. Little or no EV investment will work on these guys. -A Rank: Pokemon that are still amazing but may have one or two weaknesses that hold them back from being useful. Team support would make them as deadly if not moreso than S Rank. Likjewise, if they can provide support that can make their teammates amazing. -B Rank: Pokemon that have notable weaknesses or lacks of strength, but their moves, abilities, typing, etc. more than make up for their weaknesses. These Pokemon would need way more team -C Rank: Pokemon that have no chance of destroying teams later on, and are better off as support, or only useful in the early game. -D Rank: Less than adequate C Rank Pokemon. Little to no chance of being included on a team except in the most niche situations -F Rank: Only has one use, and usually said use is for garbage. These Pokemon suck in general speaking Reborn RULES: For an analysis, we will be assuming that these are natural Pokemon. They are the originals and can have no EMs on them (Egg Moves). Will only use movepools available naturally and by TM The Starters Up next comes the Pokemon obtainable before Gym 1 (Peridot, Opal, under the Railnet)

Ah Rejuv. Grotle and Bulba are good compared to what we got so far.
-
So I'll still never understand all the Fern hate. I personally like the guy for halfway giving a crap and trying.
-
Well let's see: (Pulls out list) -Close Combat -Fake Out -Will-o-Wisp -Thunder Wave -Toxic -U-turn -Superpower -Brick Break Yup that's all I can think of. These moves are seen quite a bit, except for maybe Brick Break, b/c screen breaking is not as important this grn.

High and Low? Elite and Mediocre?
Darvan Korematsu replied to Reignited'Light's topic in General Discussion
Well I'll try to answer these questions honestly and derived own personal experience about these matters. I literally used to have all the same problems you have at my school in my freshman year, except apply it to Yugioh moreso than Pokemon. Not saying there were no good Pokemon players at my school, but it took me a while to realize that I was amongst the top. Every player on Showdown is different in terms of a skill level and team they use. Setup can mean everything too. Format can be another factor. Not everyone is good at multiple formats. I believe I am one of the few people on Reborn who will bother touching Rotation battles, and uses VGC a lot of the time. No two matches are the same often. Some excel in a format, which I guess on the server, the gold-standard would be OU singles. That's not a difficult format, but the people who bitch about the lack of skill needed to slap together a team in a format are wrong. It takes careful planning to check or counter potential threats thrown at you. We get a sense of pride when we get it right and flatten our opponents, and we wonder what went wrong when we played. People feel this way because when a lot of us realize we suck at something and know we can try better, we try harder, and it fuels the fires of pride. Like Ikaru says about the happy junk, you can't force your mind on others. Say you and your family gets in a car crash (sorry for extreme instance). Your family dies but you are alive, and you wanna pimp-slap the first person to say "be happy you aren't dead too". People shouldn't force their mindset on you unless it's for your own good, which it is usually not. -
Ulkina (Latias) Watching patiently and frantically, Ulkina saw Stratos revert to his base form and tentatively prepping his claws to dig into Alucard. She gasped as the dragon wasted no time penetrating the spectre's form even as it writhed uncontrollably under the control of the mages. With a proper amount of force, it looked like the Salamence had indeed found the prize it intended to seek. It pulled out a Mega Stone from Alucard's spasming body, dripping with the ghost's misty shadow juices. It looked like a dark black with the familiar purple stripe running through the middle. Ulkina felt the presence of the spirit she felt earlier. "Spirit? What's going on?" She called asking.

Ulkina is actually trying to call out Thanatos for real (she is a psychic to a degree). Also, you know when someone says something would smell or taste like something? That's what I tried to achievr. -
I got one for ya. I've actually been going on a site called "chooseyourstory.com" and it's a pretty good site for blowing away a few hours at a time. The site is dedicated to CYOAs (choose yer own adventure). There's an array ranging from zombie stories, to fanfiction ones, to an awful lot of fantasy ones. The higher quality ones are actually sometimes scripted depending on your choices, I.E - a zombie story would tell you you got mauled Iin a room full of zombies, since you didn't grab a pistol in the last room, and you could have survived had you grabbed it. Nothing else I can really throw out, except the Silverwing series and Airborn series by Kenneth Oppel. They're some interesting reads.

So everyone here on Reborn has experienced the game in one way or another whether through playing, watching, or reading. Obviously Reborn does not have a fan-game monopoly, because of games like Rejuv and Zeta/Omicron. Well what I wanted to talk about today is Pokemon ROM hacks. In particular, GBA ROMS, because of the nostalgia intensifying. The DS hacks are fine, but I liked the GBA ones more for a few reasons, and I'd like to list a few of my favorite hacks. The top four in particular. What I liked and what I hated. 4. POKEMON - Glazed This one is well known amongst ROM Pokemon players as a well-crafted hack. Well I say hands down I have to agree. What stood out: -5 starters instead of 3 - New character sprites that are well-crafted - 3 Leagues worth of Gyms and Champions - A Pikachu in a scarf. (Play the game and you'll see why this Pika is kawaii) - Poke-2-Engrish translator. - Pokemon up to Gen 5 - Amazing plot What sucked: - Gets kinda repetitive after the first League you defeat. - Can get all the pseudos by the 3rd gym. Score: 8/10 3. POKEMON - Flora Sky If Gen 3 and Gen 4 made love and had a bastard child, this would be said child. It has many aspects of Gens 3 and 4 such as the line-up for the League, the champion, and character sprites. What stood out: - Good plot - Gen 4 starters - Decent difficulty curve What sucked: - Occasionally get lost (This game is essentially like Gen 3 and 4 meshed together, so again, nothing too special about it, other than I liked it) Score: 7/10 2. POKEMON - Snakewood Pokemon. Zombies. Demonically possessed creature. Pokezombies. The Afro Ball. This game is a decent zombie themed game hack. It is more for the laughs than anything, because the plot doesn't start to make sense after a while. What stood out: - Zombies in a Pokemon game. - Starters that one would almost never use. - The crass randomness. - Again zombies. - Afro Ball (aka - best fake Master Ball ever) What sucked: I can't even begin on this one. The hilarity definitely outweighs the negatives most of the time, but there's just so many puzzles or battles that will piss you off so badly, and there's Fakemons you can't even catch, and so on, so on. Score: 7/10 1. POKEMON - Ruby Destiny: Life of Guardians This one. Just wow. I dunno where to even begin with this one. Totally new region, totally new character sprites (for protags) and nice remixed music. And good Fakemons. What stood out: - New plot perspective (Different purpose for your travels) - Interactive story choices in certain areas. - New region - Amazing music remixes - Recrafted completely - Good difficulty curve - Well crafted Fakemons. - A tutorial stone that helps if you don't know where to go. What sucked: - Rare Candy exploit late in game. - Animation needs some work. - Some annoying parts in game. Score: 9/10 So what do you all like in ROMs or which did you like/hate and why?

Well like Yash says, all my characters have access to a Mega Stone to a certain extent. For instance, Alucard: Wakes with it on his possession when he realized he was actually dead Aria: Inherited it from her parents (and then killed them) and kept it on some gauntlets she wears. Ulkina: (Wait for a reveal later on. She doesn't possess one, but someone else does for her stone) -
Ulkina (Latias) Ulkina could not believe this. She had once seen Alucard Mega Evolve once, right after they first met, just so he could show her how truly scary he could have been to her. She feared for her life when he first Mega Evolved to show her, but now she didn't know the being in front of her. She couldn't comprehend what had just happened. She had been stowed away from Alucard to prevent him from swaying her in case the judges required her on the stand to testify against him. She hid from the ruckus when it first began, right after Alucard had transformed. That beast awakened from the Stone was certainly not the brother that cared for her in her younger years. No, an animosity had to be corrupting him, and she was absolutely certain. He didn't have an evil intentions at heart. Did he? Then again, she had only seen him Mega Evolve once. If it weren't for a few guards keeping her firmly in place, she certainly would have dropped in the fray, trying to convince Alucard that he was insane, and he should stop before he hurt someone. Particularly her. He promised to never hurt her before, but now he had, as the lavender-colored spectre laid slumped over and unconscious. The Lucario was certainly a shocker, but Alucard was a dead-ringer for her. She called out to Azauqyar and Stratos. "W-what are you going to do with b-brother?" They merely disregarded her. She started to cry again. Why now out of all the chances he had for malevolence right now? Ulkina flew to the top of one of the balconies overlooking the courtroom where she once sat during the trials. She thought to herself. What beings were out there like brother? Could she stop them? Could anyone for that matter? An almost sickly reek washed over her mind. She could feel someone. Well not someone, but at least something. It was not a malevolent spirit, but it smelled of....death. She called out to a spirit she thought was there. "Spirit, are you there? I promise I won't bite....or attack." Ulkina shivered as she waited for a potential response.

Alucard (Gengar) When Alucard had pressed upon what he thought was his Mega Stone, he realized something had gone dreadfully wrong. He never experienced a pain like thousands of needles harshly stabbing him when he Mega Evolved, nor had he felt uncontrollable with his actions, and he certainly never felt like a giant hand was dragging his conscious into an abyss... All he remembered was the Lucario jumping on the grounds in front of him and Syni, and pulling out his Mega Stone. He remembered the Lucario's eyes: pitch-black and hungry. Hungry for what, he couldn't figure out. When he Mega-Evolved, he saw himself doing unspeakable things, like attacking everyone in the courtroom. Never once before had he done anything out of malice, and now his chances of walking away free seemed scratched out. But the judges would never believe him and his case. He momentarily regained control of his body. He still felt the stabbing pain everywhere, bit his skin was turning from it's usual purple more to a paler shade of dark lavender. His cheeks were flushed, he saw the Lucario, in it's own inert state, clearly unconscious. He stuttered as the judges closed in on him. "P-PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ME! I'M A MONSTER!"

Pixl, if your characters are in the front page listed on the OOC then they're fine. I never got a formal confirmation for my three chars but they are in the OOC.
