Y'know Neo, the ironic thing I find about being a white American, is that I'd think maybe after two centuries of bull shit imposed on minorities of this country, AND the extra two centuries prior to the country's development, that it would make white people a target of minority uprising.
-
So if you don't live in the United States, don't read the international news, or are actively involved with a religious community, you may not have heard a certain news story that occurred in the states that is a premier story. A few days ago, in Charleston, South Carolina (in the southeastern US) a young man named Dylann Roof decided it would be absolutely smashing to go to an African Methodist Episcopal Church, and shoot some members of the congregation who were in a Bible study. How it went down in order, was apparently, Roof went down to the church, and sat in on the Bible study for maybe an hour. So then he decided to pull a gun and proceed to shoot all nine of the members of the study: three men and six women, and one of the men being the pastor of the church (the Pastor is the Head Priest in terms of the Methodist church). Anyways, Roof fled and police caught him about 250 miles away in the next state/providence either today or yesterday, I forget which. Now one thing that caught my interest in this particular case that disgusted me was when I first heard about it being a potential hate crime, I thought it would be a hate crime on religious grounds. Well I was very mistaken. For those who aren't familiar, the African Methodist church usually has a supermajority of black members in the congregation, and all the Bible study members fit that bill. The shooter - Mr. Roof - was white. This isn't to say that African Methodist churches don't have members of other races, but this actually pissed me off a lot, when I found out Iit was a racial hate crime rather than a religious hate crime. I was pissed because this is the same "racial insensitivity" resurgence America is supposedly going through, specifically with the police around the country. In cases in four different cities in America, there was upheaval over the racial "bias" that white cops supposedly took out on black men. One case in Ferguson, one in New York, and one in Baltimore. Three of these cases were shown to be misunderstandings or pure bullshit that should not have happened. In Ferguson, a black teenager was gunned down after he supposedly surrendered. In New York, a chubby black man was thrown into a chokehold by a white cop and suffocated after he said he couldn't breathe. And in Baltimore, a black suspect died of neglect to injuries caused by the cops who beat him down to detain him. What I hated here was things were blown way out of proportion. Ferguson was shown to be bull crap accusations, New York was a misunderstanding on the cop's part, and Baltimore literally had massive riots amongst the black population. What angers me about hate crimes is the lengths people go to to commit these crimes, as well as encourage people to carry out these sort of crimes. One man on Facebook posted about encouraging people to go out and shoot cops. Even though he took it down, the thought is no lessheinous. Because what if a select someone felt inspired enough by the message to act it out? That disappoints me. Reborn, this is where I understand it's a societal problem with people behaving on the grounds of a difference. But sadly, the madness won't end as long as people care too much about difference.

Heh, my first playthrough was quite something, considering I didn't consult the forum until I needed to find 7th street. The Gyms are assumed from my first time playing on E13 exceptions to Terra and the new Leader. Anyways: Julia - 3 tries. As usual, I was like "bitch please" on the difficulty of the game like most of us were. Then I tried out the OP crap known as Kricketune and destroyed her up to Emolga. 3rd try checked her for good. Florinia - 2 tries. If it weren't for sand hax and shutting down my Kricketune early, I easily could have won this. Haryiama + Kricketune = No chance Corey - 1 try. Wasn't as hard as I thought considering his only real threat to me was Crobat, which was handily crushed by Manectric. Shelly - 2 tries. Damn field did me no favors and Kricketune finally saved my life for the last time with Struggle Bugs to the max. Luck was the biggest win factor here. Shade - 2 tries. A lack of items cut me short here. Toxicroak Sucker Punch and Hariyama Knock Off made pretty quick work of Shade when I got items. Kiki - 4 tries. Her Medicham was freakishly quick for this early in the game and I got swept by it. After restructuring my team and strokes of luck, she got destroyed. Aya - 3 tries. Brutally lost first time around, got myself a Donphan, and learned what didn't destroy Donphan and protected it while it EQ'ed. Serra - 1 try. She was surprisingly weak for what I encountered so far. Hariyama and Toxicroak owned the match essentially, covering everything fine. Noel - 2 tries. Stupid friggin Swellow and Clefable of his. Never mind everything else. The Clefable refused to die till Poison Jab from Toxicroak, and my new Excadrill took Swellow's hits like a champ. Radomus - 1 try. I won't give Radomus a badge for a lack of effort, which he sure did try. My Gardevoir with Calm Mind and Shadow Ball essentially swept his entire team. He did a good job taking out all of my other team members. Luna - 1 try. At this point, with my current team fleshed out, I made quick work of Luna. Calm Mind Gardevoir with Moonblast just wrecked her entire team. Samson - 1 try. Calm Mind Gardevoir, again for the win until damn Hawlucha. Stupid Circus field made it nearly impossible to combat, but my Noivern outspeeded it, and Air Slash. Charlotte - 6 tries. What I expected from Amethyst as difficult. This was the double Ninetales shenanigans, but Sableye Rain Dance and Gardevoir Trick Room finally put me ina suitable position. Terra - 2 tries. It took me some reading on her stupid field to formulate a good strategy, and it paid pretty quickly. New Leader - 1 try. Considering I made 4 reserve teammates to blow time, 3 of the reserves swept the Leader by themselves.
-
Well there's a few ways looking at this of course. Amethyst COULD have made the game difficult and left it that way from the get-go. Then again, the majority of us have already beaten the game, and Reborn is geared toward being difficult to new players. We can complain about nerfs about the leaders, but this is strictly my opinion when I believe the Gym Leaders did not have to be nerfed, although Arceus should have had one coming a long time ago. All the leaders we shouldn't forget have exploitable weaknesses almost no matter our strategy. The game charms itself with difficulty, and if you ask me, I wish the Leaders were a tad more difficult. Not stupidly unfair and overleveled, but provide some checks to the counters, I.E giving Radomus a way to deal with Escavalier like I have heard infamously spoken across the forums. To conclude, Aya did not need to be a nerf, because there are certain Gym Leaders that need to remind you this game is not to be taken lightly. (For me it was Florinia, Aya, Noel, and Charlotte)

Well for those who haven't seen me on the RP forums, I'll introduce myself as Darv. A good six or seven of you active on these forums may remember me from the currently discontinued Pokemon Battlegrounds RP. While I am reluctant to have departed from it, not much would have fleshed out had I stayed. Ladies and gents, what I am here today is to confide upon you readers two different ideas I have for two new roleplays that I want to add. However, I can only devote my time and effort for one. This is where YOU the Reborn RP community come in and give your opinions on the two new RPs at the top. I will give a quick synopsis of each idea I have and I would appreciate if you could answer the poll up top when you're finished reading. So without further ado: The first RP is a project I have been working on for a few weeks, and I did an initial IC check a few weeks ago and I got a decent response in return. This RP is a zombie-themed RP, then named Dead Man Walking, which I have tweaked and tinkered with to get the new world of the now-working title Project Eternal. This RP would be a survival RP and plot would go somewhat akin to the Walking Dead, but I have other ideas for this zombie RP that would make it interesting, such as the randomizer I invented called "Shit Happens" to add some realistic element to the RP. The world is a little rough, but I am finishing tweaking it right now. My second RP was inspired by a combination of Sword Art Online, Super Smash Bros. and a decade-old cartoon named Chaotic. What I envision in this universe is an MMO virtual world where all the avatars are of recognizeable video game characters, and it's an arena style MMO but also an RPG at the same time. Although the plot here would flesh out somewhere of a mix between SAO and the Subspace Emissary from Brawl. This is more of an idea, and I need to put work into it to make it real. The working title is We Immortals, for the gaming characters of legend who will never die and always live on. So that's all I have to say for now. I am leaving for America's captial, Washington D.C on Friday and plan to be back on the 28th or so. I won't be around a computer much, but it will give me time I need to read input and edit my two ideas. As always, stay cool RP community.

God damn Nintendo not announcing any more main series Pokemanz game at E3 yet. Waiting game it is then.
-
That will do fine for now. But you only have five team members. Try to get a sixth first. Again, Phanpy is available at this point in the game and it is a great option to round out the team you have right now. As for Toxicroak, go Dry Skin or Poison Touch. Poison Touch is decent for racking up Poison along with Poison Jab and Dry Skin is a more universal ability to wall out water moves if you don't mind extra damage from fire. Your team is good now, just fill in a 6th member. Options are always good.

Hm. If I were to make my own Elite Four, they would consist not as masters of the elements, but battle styles instead. They are unique in the case that they are masters of their own discipline and stick to that one strategy. They are not Gym Leaders, but merely powerful trainers who use their teams to the fullest with a unique style. Brief synopsis of my Elite Four: Darvan - Champion and Master of Balance. Obviously the Champion would be an entire mix of strategy as a safety net and catch-all against just about anything that can be thrown at a team, and like most Pokemom teams, the strength of this team is there's no glaring weakness, although in a dual reapect, there is no glaring strength. Barrett - Master of the Elements (Weather) This would be your first guy to face, and he would use a variety of weather teams, most likely Rain or Sun, since those two are the most used and equally useful weathers. His Pokemon would really benefit from the weather in one way or another, ranging from abilities that benefit from weather or moves (like Thunder with 100 accuracy in rain) This guy would have an auto-setter for weather but his biggest weakness would be overreliance on weather. Sylvia - Master of the Patience (Stall) This girl would come second in line. Where the other guy relied on weather, this girl relies on stall tactics, recovery, and moves to slowly wear you down, as slow and steady also wins the race, and rushing through to defeat this Elite Four member would prove an untimely premature defeat for most challengers. The downside to this girl is the overreliance on status moves, which Taunt and specific Pokemon or other moves could easily counter Tori - Master of Brutality (Hyper Offense) This girl would come third, and serves as a complete opposite to the last Elite Four member where instead of playing the waiting game, this member serves as a mirror to beat the shit out of you and get it over with quickly. Using as many disrupting tactics, attack boosting, and moves with raw power, your team would be cut down real quickly if unprepared. The weakness here is most sweeper Pokemon are frail. Either you'd outspeed or wall out this member. Joker - Master of Trickery (Trick Room) Even though this guy would be last in the Elite Four, he'd show you that no single strategy is too farfetched or outlandish. His Pokemon would benefit largely off a Trick Room or have moves and abilities that screw the normality of Trick Room, with stuff like Prankster. This guy's overreliance on Trick Room would be his biggest weakness, especially against Taunt or "outspeed" him with slower Pokemon. I chose them because no strategy is too bad, and even the weird can overcome and puzzle the opponent.

Trying to look for an ava I can stick with for a while. Need it to be serious and light like my current. Any suggestions?
-
Well for starters, I see you are somewhere around Shade judging by the levels of your Pokemon. Your team is just lacking early in the game, and Amethyst made the game so. One option is to go for Starly because it's a pretty good generic Flying type, and of the Pidgey line of birds, it's easily the most powerful you can obtain in Reborn (Talonflame is sadly not). Another recommendation would be to drop Trubbish and replace it with a different Poison Type. I have used both Toxicroak and Dragalge on my playthroughs. I am more of a fan of Toxicroak, unless special walls are your thing. I'd lean more to Toxicroak because natural Sucker Punch and Poison Jab. You can definitely get it at this point in the game. It's literally a Ring from Corey's room and a Rock Smash cave across from Shade's place and you got yourself a Croagunk. Although if you're patient, Dragalge is a better option if you can wait until the 6th Gym Town to get a decent Fishing Rod, because Dragalge is better walling and level up moves. I'd stick with Meowstic for now, because dual screens is VERY useful especially in the early game. Growlithe is fine since you can mine Fire Stones, or grab your first Fire Stone at a certain Academy you will be visiting real soon. CC and if you could Relearn Flare Blitz, and Outrage, Arcanine makes for a good beatstick. If you wanna go for status, do Vulpix instead. It can learn Will-o-Wisp and Confuse Ray early and both are useful (especially with Drought and Flash Fire). Ampharos is also fine, with bulky pseudo tank stats, some decent coverage, and equally decent status. For now, it's also ok on your team. For new suggestions, Donphan is pretty good with Earthquake real early and Sturdy. Magnezone is also really good, although the room you use to evolve it is a pain to get to. If you don't mind breeding for Growlithe eggs, the police station guy gives you an Egg that has a 1/18 chance to be a certain Pokemon. All that hatch from that egg are really good. Can also get Ralts after the 5th badge, and Ralts hardly needs explanation. At this point in the game till your 6th badge, these are some of the best options.

[Spoilers] What did you guys think of EP 15?
Darvan Korematsu replied to BurntLight's topic in Reborn City
The Gym Leader and their little surprise definitely threw me off at first, but I quite frankly thought we would battle one of the two girls we just saved. As usual Titania was a damn boss with her Aegislash. It ain't really a spoiker when she's the Reborn XV wallpaper. But I hated the god damn puzzles. I always hate those damn puzzles but as usual the dev team finds a FEASIBLE ENOUGH reason to justify putting in those puzzles. This time the puzzles were more time-consuming than difficult. Also the dev team was most sincere by giving us Black Sludge and a few good TMs. Rating 7/10 -
Yeah you can only do Bulbasaur in previous episodes. Basically do the same thing as you would for Chikorita except go to an earlier episode
-
When it comes to all of my team members, no one pulls their weight like Nautilius the Noivern and Gundam Epyon the Metagross. In many battles, Nautilus provides a rich myriad of options from Air Slash flinch hax to Super Fang to Flamethrower or Roost. I've never been second guessed whenever I have used this Pokemon. Gundam is the exact same way. With two STABS, priority, and a great coverage move, I have yet to hate using this guy too.

Man forgot how much breeding can be a bitch.

Gym leader order speculation (Spoilers?)
Darvan Korematsu replied to Solarance's topic in Reborn City
Well speculation time. Y'all put on your thinking caps beause I have a hefty amount of evidence to unload and my own two cents on the Gym Leader order. Most likely, the next one we're gonna fight is gonna be Adrienn. Since we have the HM for Fly now after beating Ciel and the sheer luck of locations for battling, you may have noticed we don't have to travel unbearably far for our Gym battles, unless the quest in the story drags us far away, like in the cases of Luna and Aya. Case and point with most of the Gym Leaders. If we are supposed to be actually returning to Reborn City in E16 then Adrienn would be the most logical choice because he/she is the closest relating to the plot, and also Adrienn is bound to an actual Gym. The only case we would not battle Adrienn is with an ad hoc battle in a Gym that isn't real and the battle will be a quick decision on the Leader's part, like with Noel, or Luna to a point. The second most likely battle will be Amaria or Hardy. This could go a few different ways. We are currently unsure how Titania fits in to the plot with all this if she flew away from the house off to that random scrap yard in the desert where her Gym is. Saphira might not be next because of the fact Agate is still under the sleep spell and the PULSE controlling it is in Labradorra, home to Saphira's Gym and she might pull the old: "I'm too strong for you, why don't you try the other Gym Leaders first" garbage. Only reason Amaria might be second is the sheer convenience of location as it's on the way to Labradorra and past Agate. Hardy would be the next battle in this case, maybe giving you a battle to show how grateful he is for you stopping the PULSE. The next battle would be Titania or Amaria. Maybe Titania, because of her concern for Amaria, you'd have to go through her first. Amaria would be following that battle (Ame describes her as one of the highest ranking leaders). Inversely, Amaria would come before Titania, and Titania would be surprised that you the character defeated Amaria. Saphira would most likely be last, or next to last, as possibly sandwiched between the roads to Victory Road and whatnot. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Labradorra is one of the last steps to the League, either that or the desert. If it's the desert, Titania would be last. Saphira will be amongst the last, because Dragon Gyms have traditionally been that way, in the last quarter. My final analysis on the order: - Adrienn - Hardy - Amaria/Titania - Inverse of ^ - Saphira. -
Favorite holiday is hands down Thanksgiving. Always has been. One day to pig out and bless everything you are thankful for? Count me in. Bitch better not touch my fuggin turkey, mashed potatoes, or cranberry sauce or I'll shank you. I have done it.

Well if everyone is serious about this, I think I'll step down as well. I'll try to get my zombie RP going and see how that works out. I'll have that up by the end of the month because I am going on a trip next Friday for ten days and still need to work out a few kinks. If y'all want, I'll consider rerolling this RP as a host a few monthes down the road. -

Darvan Korematsu replied to TyranntX's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Tyrann you need to talk to Wander or Eonic about that. Wander is playing the temporary ruler and Eonic pilots the to be named King Eric. I could help alleviate that by talking to Eonic and/or Yash to get something worked out I do, however, pilot the Sky's to be named Queen Ulkina. If you want, Ulky could do something about it, because Eonic should still have school right now and me or Yash coukd temp bunny Eric to get the King ordeal sorted out -
Gay People 101: Attraction To The Opposite Sex
Darvan Korematsu replied to Kyoyoyoyoyoyoyo's topic in General Discussion
Actually, I'll second what Kosher says. Where I live too, you'll probably get ripped on if you talk about another male's BEAUTY. Now I'm not talking about appearance, like I could say a guy is handsome or sharp and get away with it no problem. I can apply some of what you're saying Kyo and apply it to a straight guy's point of view. There are sometimes where I kinda just go "Eh" when comparing girls to guys, but I just can't see myself with a dude as a life partner legitimately romancing me. What you imply about straight guys is somewhat true. I do find some guys really good-looking, but I don't appreciate them if they fool me with their appearance (I.E - cross-dressers). I also like Ama's point too. Like you can love someone but not BE IN love with them. That just measures the depth of affection. -
Ulkina (Latias) Ulkina groaned to herself. One way or another, she couldn't hold trial by herself as the only judge. She knew she would be biased, and never had any official judicial training of any sort, nor did she have any idea of law in the ky Kingdom. She flew over to the front doors and saw the Dragonite she was looking for. "Excuse me. Lieutenant Dravis is it?" She asked the Dragonite. He turned around. "Yes m'lady?" "I need someone to send for Stratos immediately. I don't expect Azauqyar, your captain, to be back any time soon." The Dragonite nodded and muttered select words to another Dragonite guard. That guard flew away without another word. Ulkina turned around, thanking the Lieutenant for his service. She left immediately. "I think I know someone else who can help," she whispered to herself. She thought to herself, hoping to call out for Eric and his company. She needed him. Now. Sora (Excadrill) "Ya know wha I hate about dis...," the mole slurred. "Those damn superiors of mine. It was always work, work, work *hic* and more work." He grabbed his mug, signaling for another round wearily. He slammed down more gems. "Don't you dare fucking stooop keep till...I can't *hic* feel stuff like stuff should be felt." The barkeep sighed. "What's bothering you old chap?" Sora slammed down yet another round in a monsterous gulp. "I tell you wha. T-the damn superiors never let me have legitimate children." He looked down sulking. "Ah children, now they are real treasure. More than these rocks I tell you." He fumbled for more gems for the barkeep. "Them breeding programs they had me on. They milked me dry I tell you. At least one of every six in my mining legion has to be a child of mine. Illegitimate they are, yes, but those little bastards dig like me." The Excadrill slumped over and fell off his seat, passed out in a drunken stupor.

Yo I've kinda done a dis-service to y'all by not posting, but I had to stay with my gramps for the past few days. I had to take him to the ER today because he had a collapsed lung when the doctors looked at it. That's been weighing in on my mind. I'll have something up around midnight or early tomorrow morning. -

Well then, where to begin. Thanks to the game developers team for making the game. Thanks to Chubb for making an assload of guides. Thanks to Yash and Wander for making my RP experience so far very interesting. Thanks to the people who posted in my Bemusings and Questions thread. Thanks to all y'all I didn't mention, but I don't know a bunch of you. Lel.
