  1. All hail King Tootgoop and his mem. Bravely they fought the Pizzonia but in the end, this is hoe.it.goes.

  4. HERE COME DAT AMA O SHIT WADDUP If you had to meet your ten year old past self, what are three positive things about your current life that you'd want to tell them about? Assuming, of course, that talking to your past self wouldn't alter the timeline, because that's why time travel is such an annoying thing to write about.
  5. Depending on what character you want to draw you could also ask for any details you need. I've been under the impression that Ame is glad to help out artists who have questions. Most of the characters also already do have fanart, maybe it could help as well to look at that and see how others have drawn them.
  6. Ayy, same favourites! Jean is definitely my fave when it comes to character development. I remember getting into SnK and immediately thinking "That one's a jerk, I bet he's gonna be cool and I'll like him". I was not disappointed. He has some awesome moments coming up, gonna be excited to see them animated. Also, that one Connie thing. Because I like the way my feelings get broken.
  7. [waves non-native speaker flag] To me the those things are pretty much synonymous, though people often seem to use edgy for when they want to put the meaning in a negative context? I don't automatically associate edgy with being bad, though. And I've seen it used in a neutral context before. No idea, really. I'm not even sure if we have a truly equivalent word in German. ...That said, I am now imagining various characters in Hot Topic kinda outfits and it's beautiful.
  8. Personally, I'm pretty happy to have a 'painfully edgy' Pokémon game that gives me a bit of a challenge. Everyone's cup of tea? Certainly not, but I enjoy it, because sometimes I don't want subtle edge. Sometimes it's fun for me to have a story go all the way. If I feel like playing in a more peaceful and bright setting, I can grab a canon game of my choice. To give me an incentive to play it, a fangame has to offer me something that the canon games don't have, and in Reborn's case that's the full load of dark'n'edgy stuff. As far as the outfits etc go, I never really found something to complain about with them, because it fits the setting, with the shabby city and its gangs. You'll notice this with a lot of real life gangs/groups as well: members trying to set themselves apart from everyone else, making sure everyone knows on first sight where their place in society is, where they choose to belong. To go with Cain as an example, he IS that kind of flirty and weird guy who you could reasonably expect to find hanging out in the nearest cheap club. ...Or maybe I'm too used to Metal subculture to find edgy emo things noteworthy any more, whoops. Reborn has significantly less men in lime green fairy costumes or duct tape bras, though.
  9. Oi, Sparky, I think you'll like this guy! I think I approve of you, too. Always cool to have more soccer-interested people around. But what clubs and countries do you support is the question So hey there, welcome to Reborn! All the sanity jokes and "here forever" jokes have already been made, so please forgive me for being boring and settling for "enjoy your time here". Your distraction didn't work on me because it's not a bird, so maybe next time you wanna try that.
  10. Not gonna lie, I'd love to toss the damn thing into Mount Doom the lake or something Then claim that I tragically lost it. I mean, that ring is a bad luck charm if I've ever heard of one. Being the Seal of Pain doesn't make it any better.
  11. Do you ever feel like people only ever take you seriously when it's convenient for them? Like your words get dismissed and forgotten about, and it's always like you never said anything in the first place? Because I feel like that a lot.

You need practice expressing yourself and then standing behind what you've said. It isn't for the meek of heart.

    4. Eternal Edge
  12. Yeah, with Shelly it makes enough sense to me to say that she's just that meek. Her entire character arc, after all, was about how she needed to overcome her fear, and it wasn't until Ametrine that she had the "click" moment where she realized she'd have to be brave. Her teaming up with you against the Meteors was exactly that. (And the part where you and her are in the orphanage had her clearly motivated by the thought of saving Heather.) Shelly is a talented battler, but for most of the game so far she did not have the strength to stand up against others, especially not alone. She also expressed on at least one occasion that she feels more safe and confident when she's with someone she trusts. So if nobody else were to put up a battle, she'd be less likely to as well.
  13. I do think they'd probably be highly wary about fighting Sigmund, knowing he would try whatever he must to get them. But I find it odd that none of them would be attempting to at least put up a fight. Charlotte, for one, sure doesn't seem the type to surrender willingly. Which is what made me headcanon the bit about how their reflexes and battle skills may have regressed to an extent, as they are out of practise. (And this would go both for the trainers and for their Pokémon.) Sure Sigmund would go to any length to get the orphans back, as we've already seen. But it's not in character for some of them to give up just because they might lose. We've seen them readily team up on Sigmund when you free Heather, so they clearly do have the guts to challenge him.
  14. That doesn't explain their lack of action the slightest, though, because as we've seen over and over, the orphans are terrified of the prospect of returning to Sigmund. They know he has the legal right to take them, but they don't want to be taken, and thus nothing would be stopping them from at least trying to defend themselves. It's not legal for them to be on the run together with youin the first place, after all.
  15. One explanation that I came up with during my first run was that perhaps due to how long Sigmund has kept the orphans away from their Pokémon and from taking on challenges, they simply are no longer used to actually being able to call upon their teams to defend them. Since the orphans appear to not have gotten much, if any, access to their teams, they would likely lack the "fight" response to getting into danger, as they have been lacking the option for a very long time. This does bring up the question of how the kids got so strong in the first place (in Anna and Noel's case at least) if they never got to train, but it's the closest I've come to making sense out of the lack of trying they've displayed. Cain and the PC would be much faster to send out their Pokémon because they're so used to it. I do assume that at least to some extent, the Belrose sisters were able to develop their skill when they still lived with their parents. Charlotte's story of how she thinks their parents died does mention how she was out in the cove with her Pokémon, and snce her mom was the Fire leader, she surely encouraged her children to develop their skills early. With Noel and Anna we don't know how long they've been in Sigmund's care, but I'll admit I find it harder to accept their high skill level. If they had been outside and able to train, I wouldn't question it as much, considering Shelly and Heather exist in the same story. But locked-up it does make things hard to believe.
  16. I got so much cleaning done today. Now I just gotta be motivated to continue tomorrow. Hah...

  17. That was exactly my point, though. If they decided to leave out entire scenes or parts of scenes from the manga, then they can cut down on the length of other scenes as well. If they can make cuts to the content, they can make adjustments to the pacing. The part that I named as an example above was just one of many where the anime did not include the whole scene from the manga. And it sure was a lot more important than stretching out moments where nothing happens for the sake of building tension that we already have. Especially if said scene builds up a connection between the protagonist and the season's main antagonist. It just irks me, and from all I heard of other people's opinions, the pacing is one of the most commonly criticized aspects. Edit: Of course, there's also those parts where Armin's involvement in things gets replaced with Mikasa. 'nother thing where the anime makes changes to the content of the manga. They totally are allowed to do things differently. If this stuff goes through, then I don't see Isayama going "b-but I wrote this scene to be longer".
  18. I do hope that the pacing problem is fixed a bit better in season 2. One of the things that bothered me about the first season was that they didn't hesitate to drag us through several episodes of the Trost arc no matter now stretched-out many of the scenes felt (especially around the part where the Garrison are attempting to kill Eren), while cutting down on stuff like Eren and Annie's interactions as trainees. The one scene of Eren using her hand-to-hand combat technique against Jean at dinner didn't do their relationship justice in the anime (what with missing the part where Annie tells Eren it was bad, and he asks her to teach him). Definitely not enough to justify Eren's hesitation and failure to fight her in the season finale, or Mikasa's questions about his feelings for Annie specifically. The manga has a pacing problem itself especially in the beginning, but the anime isn't forced to follow it, not when there are things they could rather show.
  19. I HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST TANIA ONE WHY DID YOU NOT SHOW ME I call betrayal Serious betrayal. That stuff is my aesthetic and you know it. ...Or maybe you don't I dunno. But we did talk about that Wasteland AU! >I trusted you Ama I really did You made a mistake if you think you can trust me to not demand you post your art here over and over again. Not all people here look at tumblr so it's just fair :3 >"Eve is goddess who deserves worship" I trusted you jasmi I really did PS I mean, I'ma just say, if you were to draw Zero Suit Zero I would not even complain. That thing doesn't just look neat on a female body IMO.

  22. FUCK I forgot that ColognePride's street festival is this weekend. Well, I'll be rushing to get ready, then, I promised myself I'd go this year.

  23. #RememberHardy He's a nice character who has been getting good characterization since he was introduced, and he's the kind of guy I'd legit wanna hang out with. Wish I could rock long hair like he does, too. ...Not trying to oppose the claim that the game needs more strong male characters, because I do think that's true. But is Hardy really that forgettable to everyone else? He's on of my favourites. On a note unrelated to all the character discussion, I actually liked the Crustle puzzle. Don't judge me.
  24. You've got to keep in mind that if we're talking about the term villain purely in a fictional context ("a character in a story or play who opposes the hero"), the answer to who would be defined as a villain and who not depends entirely on whose narrative they're in. Since the game makes it explicitly clear that the player character sides with the faction that tries to stop Team Meteor, their members (and those who aid them) are our villains/antagonists, whereas those who help us, no matter how questionable their means, are not. Not every character who does questionable things is automatically a villain in fiction. If this whole game was played in the perspective of someone who is on Team Meteor's side, then suddenly you'd have people like Saphira and Titania as villains, whereas Solaris wouldn't be one. We see the Meteors and Cultists as the villains because they're the ones who oppose the side we're on. Consider games in which you have a choice over what faction you join, and how quickly the other side will be the villain then. Saphira and Titania are not villains to the player character in Reborn because the morally objectionable things they do don't hinder our goals. Whether we agree or disagree with their choices to kill the Meteor/Cultist grunts, those actions still further our endeavor of saving the city from Team Meteor. Now, if you apply the other definition of a villain, however ("a deliberate scoundrel or criminal"), then yes, Saphira and Tania would be villains. The fact alone that we feel the need to excuse their killing is a good indicator that we see it as a bad action at the core. Something that we'd normally see as criminal.
