Freeze isn't an inferior sleep at all tbh; it potentially can last for, what, like 10 turns? (Not sure about that) I'm fine with a move that can freeze, but not one that so many Pokemon get and that hits all foes (the only other status inducing move hitting all foes is Dark Void iirc) -
Zubat is available around the fifth badge iirc

Actually, you could get enough stickers before Arceus, but idk if you can leave the cave. You can also try Frisking wild Meowths or Sandshrews with the fainted CompoundEyes Pokemon up front + Frisk Pokemon second strategy though. It doesn't have the highest rate, but you should eventually be able to get one.

After downloading it, you should just have to unzip it with a program like Winrar, and then you should be able to play it with Wine. Works for me, idk.

Gastly used to be available in E14 and lower, but it was replaced with Misdreavus in E15 (and the former Misdreavus Hide-and-Seek event was removed) -
