  1. GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA) Emmanuel's A-Comm beeps after a short while: "Gee, that's a mighty fine written report, mr...I presume you'd be Emmanuel. That's what the screen says here...I-I can't do this...is there really no one who can show me how this dispatching stuff works...Raaaaaaay-" The transmission cuts off just as the groupd reaches the clearing and sees Kai, Shelly and Anthony there. And a small Carbink. [GROUP 1 meets up with GROUP 3, forming the new GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA, SHELLY, KAI, ANTHONY)] GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA, SHELLY, KAI, ANTHONY) The small creature plops up and starts levitating in front of Anthony, spinning around eagerly. It seems to be rather lively and grateful. It then notices Anthony's shades and sees its reflection in them. It cocks its head to the side. Thinking back, Anthony recalls the Sableye have also been strangely focused on his shades. The Pokemon then shakes its little head and continues floating in front of Anthony. Music: Won't you come with me? [Anthony befriended the Pokemon! His A-Comm identifies it as a Carbink!] [Do you want to give the Carbink a nickname?] As the other group approaches, Shelly's A-Comm buzzes and Ray speaks again: "Oh, guys, there's another group of people approaching you! We have the readings but please confirm that they're the other Cadettttttt-" The transmission is interrupted as you hear a bellowing roar somewhere in the distance in the direction where Radovan, Sena and Emmanuel have come from. Poochy barks and tries to dig itself into Emmanuel's armpit. She seems scared... GROUP 2 (DESMOND, TAYLOR, KALVA) The Patrat nod at Desmond and Kalva as they make their escape. They salute them before running off into their holes, tunnels or whatever they lived in. [Taylor, Desmond and Kalva have earned the Patrat pack's trust, however, they won't tolerate you if you trespass again] Desmond and Kalva meet up with Taylor. Meanwhile, Taylor's A-Comm buzzes: "Did you just leave Kalva behind, you heartless monster!?!?!? I hope you get eaten by that Garchomp!!!" Gina shouts her face off through the Communicator. In that moment, however, she notices Kalva's message and breaths a sigh of relief. "I'll forgive you this time, but watch your back! And Kalva, you shouldn't follow those tracks. Judging from the picture your so-called friend sent us, this creature is highly volatile. Our analysts have, however, deducted these aren't Garchomp tracks. They're actually Gabite tracks, but they're incredibly oversized. Something must have triggered such rapid growth in that Pokemon. I repeat, do not follow the tracks! There's reports saying that the other two Cadet groups have met up. You should see if you can reach them. They should be at the end of the road leading to your riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-" The transmission is interrupted suddenly, as you hear a bellowing roar followed by the sound of crashing in the distance. As you look down the right path, you see a violent, red glow slowly growing in intensity, approximately a 100 meters away from your position, closer to you than the other group you don't yet know about. The crushing sounds come from that way, and before you know it, a Gabite, at least 2 m in height, bursts out from behind the trees, crushing them seemingly effortlessly, scattering broken crystal everywhere. It is surrounded by a red hue. It bellows as you look upon it, but doesn't seem to notice you. Instead, it stops and violently shakes its head around before clutching it with its talons. Fire spreads from its mouth as it roars again before digging into the fallen branches, absorbing the energy flowing through them from the Nexus... "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Music: This is what we've trained for... All your senses are sent to overdrive by the chilling sound. You have two options, either face it, or run down the other path. You can't turn back to the Patrat. Unless you wanna get torn apart. Well...you might get torn apart anyways.
  2. "OK, that just sounds kinda weird, haha!" Cass laughs in response to the nomad's odd choice of words. And also at his attempted humour. "I doubt I'd be able to pull something on you anyways now that you'd be expecting it." He turned to all the mess happening around the place...it was that deadly woman burning down innocent trees and threatening the people they just decided they'd turn over to the authorities. OK, then...he decided to listen in on the discussion being held. 'Twas interesting.
  3. TAYLOR As Taylor investigates the footprints, he concludes that they must be from a member of the Garchomp family, characterized by the three sharp talons sticking out of the foot. He can't tell whether it's a Gabite or a Garchomp, though the destruction left behind by it suggests that it is indeed a Garchomp. Which means big trouble. If he wanted to, Taylor could try and contact Space Aether regarding this information and perhaps find out if they know anything about it.
  4. GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA) The Poochyena tries to bite in the direction Radovan was swinging his branch. Also, Radovan's branch doesn't seem to glow. And the Pooch is calmer now that they weren't en route to the angry pack of Patrat. Emmanuel, Radovan and Sena come to where the road takes a turn right again. They find no new broken branches as they walk. Meanwhile, Poochy cuddles into Emmanuel's chest. She likes her new nickname~ GROUP 2 (DESMOND, TAYLOR, KALVA) The Patrat jump up at Taylor's escape, but then, after realizing what the odd human had done, they nod their heads to him and redirect their angry stares back at Kalva and Desmond. Furthermore, a group of Patrat emerged from the trees and blocked the path that lead outside the clearing. They don't give half a crap for your hand-raising or whatever. The new group of Patrat nods for you to follow after Taylor, forming a small hole between their ranks for you to pass. If you fail to comply, they'll make you bleed. "Pat-RAT!!!" Seems like Taylor made the right choice. Whoops. But all is well. Furthermore, Taylor, having run away from the clearing, finds that the path he's on forks, one road leading straight up and the other leading right. There's a hill nearby and he can see a silhuette of something in the shape of a square on top of it. Quite a large square. On the path leading to the front, the trees closest to the trail have been crushed and there are relatively large, draconic footprints on the ground, leading further down the path. The soil is littered with branches, all devoid of the light emanating from the trees. Music: Atmosphere - Watchful Eyes Scary. GROUP 3 (SHELLY, KAI, ANTHONY) Before Shelly and Kai arrive at the clearing, the two Sableye start following Anthony as he crawls away from them. The young man recalls that they feed on gems, so perhaps...does he possess anything shiny enough to distract them? The Pokemon make no sound as they move, only twitch from time to time like ragdolls, ready to chomp down on his oh so-pretty gem-like eyes... Until they see that the human's friends have come back. Their grins disappear instantly from their faces and they turn to look at the newcomers that disrupted their hunt. With a silent hiss, they melt into the shadows and slither across the ground, disappearing into the forest. They leave something behind... It looks like a rock with several shiny protrusions around its body...until at one moment it suddenly moves, ever so slightly, rocking left and right then dropping halfway into the ground, as if afraid, and you notice two beady eyes looking right back at Anthony.
  5. Klaren pouts at the group. Nobody was even noticing hiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmm. He then looks over at Terrin, Luka and the lady offering them a tour. He glares at her specifically with a frown on his face and wouldn't stop even if she looked back at him or otherwise reacted. In that scenario, he'd just pout harder.
  6. "Yep, well, kinda, and it took a helluwalot of practice to be able to do that without frying my fingers off, ha! The guitar ain't me, though. It was a gift, specially made to conduct the electricity and amplify the sound." Cass explains, stretching his fingers one by one with the help of his other hand. He notices the slight change in the archer's face and he grins in response. "I'll play for you after I take a little breather. I once overdid it and it took me a month to get these things back in function." Cass adds as he wiggles his fingers.
  7. "Yeah, I met a couple o' nomads. Some back on Arcadia, and one I actually traveled a bit together with. So if you hear some of your land's music in what I play, it ain't surprising. Also, I'd rather not play any of the songs." Cass looks to the side. It's noticeable something made him uncomfortable. He then shakes his head and sighs. "Sorry. I also can't really play anything right now." He extends an open palm to Idei. The fingers are cramping, just slightly. "It happens when you run electricity through your fingers during an entire battle. Magic hurts, don't try it at home."
  8. "'Straightforward' is not a very straightforward way of putting it." Cass laughs, diverting his eyes to follow Idei's line of sight towards the sea. However, to him, it was only the sea. Kinda barren, even. "Y'know, I'd met some of your people a long time ago. Great taste in music and even better herbal medicine." He grins. "Yep, as surprising as it is, I'm a traveling musician. Been that way since long, long ago. Wait, is it really so surprising..? I've got a guitar and all that on my back." He points at the guitar, raising an eyebrow.
  9. "Sure, I ain't gonna steal, 'specially now that you've gotten me employed and everything, mwaha!" Cass laughs, though he can sense some sort of a social barrier around the guy. Sure, he'd come into contact with other nomads, in the past, 'twas always spiffy, but this one was different than the different that was their people in general. "Say then, how're ya liking these non-desert places, eh? Sometimes it feels like life in a desert'd be way easier than anything around these parts, am I right?"
  10. "One of the tribalists, huh. Guess you people don't care much about money. You certainly didn't seem to care I took yours, heh." Cass says with a grin. Stretching his arms behind his back, he leans against a nearby house wall and crosses them. All the commotion around the boats didn't particularly concern him. He was now stuck with them either way, staying on this island or not. He hadn't been planning on leaving anytime soon anyways, so there was no rush. He also wasn't planning on returning the money to Idei. Nono, he'd definitely earned it by now. "Also, no worries, it's Casserole. Beef Casserole."
  11. GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA) The Poochyena weakly wags its tail as Emmanuel places the branch next to it. As it grabs it in its snout, the faint glow it radiated strenghtens, enveloping the Pokemon's entire body. The cut seems to fade before your very eyes, growing shallower. The Pokemon raises to its feet, walks over to Emmanuel and ruffles its fur against the boy's leg, allowing him to carry it. Music: Won't you come with me? Upon closer inspection, it seems to be female. [Emmanuel befriended the Poochyena!] [Do you want to give it a nickname?] There are no more broken branches around you. The A-Comm is unresponsive. As the group proceeds down the main path, they encounter no problems. Thick forest of luminescent trees surrounds the path. After a short while of walking, they come to a fork in the road. Further down the left path, they can hear dozens of little skittering steps, while there's no indication of any events occuring down the right path. The Poochyena is calm for now, resting in Emmanuel's arms. Until a set of faraway angry cries coming from the left trigger it and she raises her ears in alert. "Boof!" GROUP 2 (DESMOND, TAYLOR, KALVA) As everyone's busy with the A-Comm argument with the feisty Gina, except Desmond, only Desmond notices something off... Like some skittering and three pairs of watchful eyes burning themselves into the back of his head... Chills run down his spine...unsure whether he should turn around and face the horror or not..................... Music: Atmosphere - Watchful Eyes Gina takes a breath to say something, when she suddenly audibly gags. "Kalva..." Gina yelps, basically a whisper over the A-Comm. "Watch out, we're reading several life signs nearby..behind you all..." Chills run down everyone's spines. You can feel the hungry eyes filled with hatred. What horrific Pokemon do they belong to? Something scary... REALLY SCARR- "Pat. Rat." You hear an commanding cry coming from behind you. As the party turns to face the Pokemon, startled by this sound, the cry turns into a chant...several different Pokemon at the same time...getting faster...and faster until only their cries can be heard. Their vicious, murderous cries. "Patratpatratpatrapatratpatrat!!!" Oh boy, they're Patrat... What should you do? They glare at you...and you know how territorial these rodents are. There's probably dozens of them hiding in the woods ready to jump you and tear you limb by limb... GROUP 3 (SHELLY, KAI, ANTHONY) As Anthony approaches the site of Mecha Paz's kidnapping, he suddenly trips up and falls down on his face. Something grabbed his leg. When he looks behind himself to see what it is, he's met with two pairs of gleaming, emotionless eyes. Music: Atmosphere - Watchful Eyes The Sableye look at one another and grin without making a noise. They focus their attention on the defenseless Anthony on the ground, their sharp talon-like claws twitching and crackling... Meanwhile, the path Kai and Shelly follow turns left. They reckon they could reach the hill if they continued following it. However, somewhere from that direction, they hear a bark...
  12. "Probably some magic thingie~ But that's not important, LOOOOU!!!! Have you not heard I'm going to the market! Yaaaaaaay, market!!! So who wants to come with me!?" Klaren turned to the other expectantly.
  13. "Wuheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~" Klaren spread his arms wide. The sight of the city excited him and imagining all the things he could see and do only invigorated him further. He turned to the rest of the group, standing before them all. "I'm on my way to the market! If anyone wants to join me, now's the time~"
  14. "Phew..." Cass lets out a sigh of relief. "It all ended well." He adds, looking over at Emilee and the horseman. Specifically the horseman since he was scared Emilee would bash his face in if he looked too long in her general direction for now. "So, what's your name?" He repeats his previous statement in the form of a question. "Didn't catch it."
  15. Seeing the girl's expression darken, Cass raised his hands in defense. "Hey, whoawhoa, are you actually getting so upset over th-" "Ouch-!" The swift strike hits him right on the head and he retorts mostly out of surprise, though the will of its wielder grants it an unexpected aftershock, like some sort of a bulging sensation. He faintly hears her words afterwards and gives out a couple of nods in quick succession. "Y-yes ma'am!" The whole event leaves Cass wholly exposed to the Captain/Commander/whatever's proposal. He nods again, not sure what he was nodding in response to. "Right, thank you-agh..."
  16. "..." Cass looks at the archer, then at Emilee. He sighs, then places a hand on the pouch he was carrying the 300 Vespers he took from the archer. "...look, they were actually right, Emilee. I did steal something, from him." He throws a hand behind over his shoulder, pointing a thumb at Idei. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name." He shrugs at the man before looking back at Emilee. "So yeah, I took like, 300 Vespers from him-the same ones we had to pick up from the ground when you bumped into me. And I've been thieving around the town for the past few weeks. I'm a thief. Your thief friend was right. I even came to this island with a group of bandits." The final one there was their commander. Cass stepped forward to him. "Y'can hand me over or whatever. It's not like I actually enjoy taking stuff from others. Lives either. So I ain't going back on the streets. It'd be better if they put me in some cell. Less worrying, at least."
  17. "Temperamental, eh...easy horsey..." Cass maintains a safe distance from the horse as he listens to the archer. "Why'd I come with you?" He grins in response, but it's a pained grimace. "Well why don't you ask your friend over here that question, eh?" He points at Emilee. "She'll be able to tell you everything in detail, because I've still got no clue what drove her to pull me into this situation."
  18. "S-skittish, you say?" Cass took a step away from the horse. "He's not gonna kick me, is he?" He put the guitar on his back and raised his hands up in front of himself, palms open, slowly backing away...nice horsey...
  19. "You can always count on the Beef." Cass gives out a nervous chuckle as he runs after the maiden and towards the horseman again...this was really getting old. "..." He gives Idei a short sideways glance before he starts playing again. "Let's get this done with, okay?" Move to M12, play for Idei and Emilee Checks 'play for Idei literally every turn on the map' from his to-do list.
  20. Oh boy, someone went down...and the green archer missed his shot. Cass turned to the girl, Emilee. "Is that your commander going down? I dunno what you people tend to do with your wounded, but if you wanna go help him out I'll have your back." He gripped the guitar in his hands and waited for the girl's response with a frozen look of 'oh shit I'm about to poop my pants' written all over his face.
  21. GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA) The Poochyena growls at Emmanuel as he approaches it and holds a branch. Upon closer inspection, the Pokemon appears wounded-a rather unsightly cut runs down the left side of its body. The wound looks fresh and the Poochyena limps with its left back leg. Maybe that's why it's growling and barking? Well anyways, when it sees Sena holding out an Oran Berry, it sniffs it before gladly sweeping it from his hand, holding it in its snout. It then limps a couple of steps away towards the forest and digs in. "..." The Poochyena sits down and looks all three young Cadets over from top to bottom. It also keeps looking behind itself as in fear. While looking the boys over, it focuses on Emmanuel, specifically the branch in his hands. It still carries a faint purple glow despite having been broken off Lone Star knows how long ago. The Poochyena whines. You see it's trying to get back up to its feet and getting to Emmanuel but it just can't get itself back on that injured hind leg of its. Radovan's A-Comm buzzes. "We'd gladly help you but you're the ones that crashed the very system we used to transport you here. We're trying to get it back online but that means running all the backups through the servers and loading the whole P-AZ program up again. Oh, my name's Robert, and the other guy that called you was Terrence. He's currently in the medical wing of the HQ. Wait a second, did you say you encountered a Pokemon? Oh gee, I dunno what to do in this situation.......someone please send help and some doughnuts over heeeeee--------" The transmission ends... GROUP 2 (DESMOND, TAYLOR, KALVA) "Why you little..." As Taylor probably expects the woman to start shouting again, she is thankfully interrupted by the message that arrived at her A-Comm. Apparently, with the fixed communication channel having been established, Kalva's message got through. The woman gasps. "Kalva, you're really there! Oh I'm so glad! I don't know what I would've done had something happened to you! I feel totally responsible for this-had we not arranged for you all to be transported to our outpost, you wouldn't have been put in danger! Kalva, please forgive me!" GROUP 3 (SHELLY, KAI, ANTHONY) "Srsly, no comments about the whole process I just described? Sheesh. Oh whatever, just find a safe place to stay until the Prez contacts you." Kai and Shelly can see a path leading off the clearing, lined with stones strewn around. Somewhere in the distance, through the translucent trees, Shelly can see what appears to be a small hill with a square on top of it, devoid of trees. Their only option would be taking the path. Or maybe jumping into the forest, although that would not be recommended as the crystalline trees have very sharp branches. Suddenly, however, they hear skittering coming from the clearing they were just on their way of leaving. Anthony, who hadn't yet gone to follow them, sees three shadows slinking across the ground from one side of the clearing to the other, picking from the ground the one thing all of the kids had purdy much forgotten everything about in the meantime for some reason-the P-AZ Mechamon toy. The shadows grab it and disappear into the forest before Anthony can react. (OoC: the P-AZ Mechamon is no longer in your possession. Whoops.)
  22. GROUP 1 (EMMANUEL, RADOVAN, SENA) Radovan attempts to break a branch off at a very specific place but fails to do so as the branch is made of a highly durable and unbendable crystalline structure and he's just a human being. Meanwhile, as Emmanuel and Sena stray towards the woods, something small and dark grey in hue jumps out from behind some rocks and lands a few paces in front of them. "Booof!!!" The Poochyena barks at you. It might be aggressive, but you never know. GROUP 2 (DESMOND, TAYLOR, KALVA) "I won't believe you until I see he's saf-wait what are you threatening to shut me off!?!?! Who do you think you are talking to your senior officer like this??? I'll have you know I can get your ass kicked out of Space Aether before you even blink! Yes I can do that, and I'll do that unless you take your A-Comm asap and give me a video feed of Kalva!!!" The woman on the other side of the A-Comm yells again. You can hear the frustration and worry in her voice. Her threats sound genuine, but only Kalva knows for sure Gina doesn't have enough authorization to do that. Alas, he's mute and can't tell you. GROUP 3 (SHELLY, KAI, ANTHONY) "Right, mhm." Ray mumbles. You can imagine she's nodding right now and taking notes. She then sighs. "Gee, are you still on about the graduation? Girl you've gotta calm down about it, you've graduated, so it's all fine. The official ceremony has been postponed. Also, you're not in the Ather-Net anymore. You're in Nexus #08, a new Main Grid Nexus that had just popped up and that our brilliant techs couldn't predict so this whole mess came to be. And yes I'm referring to you, you shitheaded doughnut-sucking sorry excuse for a high-ranking Space Aether Tech Officer, you should be ashamed of yourself. Oh sorry, there's some poor guy complaining over here." Obviously, that last part doesn't refer to either of you three. "Aaaanyways, you too should chill, Mr.....Dex, correct? I'm supposed to give you intructions until the President arrives at the dispatch site and takes control over the situation so I'll tell you everything that's happened: you faced against our Security Officer, P-AZ, in a mock battle orchestrated by the President to promote the newest revolutionary system Space Aether has been meaning to implement-the Aether-Net. However, when you beat P-AZ, his program glitched out and caused the whole major error-show you witnessed by running some self-destruct sequence. At the same time, Nexus #08 popped up out of nowhere when we tried to extract you from the Net and it totally jammed all our systems and swallowed Micro Grid Preservation Centers 900,445 through 2,080,478, including the outpost we were gonna extract you to that's been linked to the Aether-Net. So you ended up in #08 as a result. Yeah, a major whoopsie on our part." "IIIII'm just gonna make something clear-we've no clue what kind of Pokemon you may find there and no clue about the environment as well. We're running scans but it'll take a while. For now, you should probably find a safe location, stay put and wait for further instructions."
  23. There was no stopping for the Beef. Running around and around and around and around the goddessdamn battlefield. He watched the young boy disregard the thief's carcass, going as far as to praise the pegasus woman that did it, as he stood next to it and threw his axe at one of the pirates, leaving behind yet another bloody mess. Surely, these people were madmen. And he'd gotten involved with them. There was no turning back now. If he turned back, they'd probably cut him up and actually serve him as a beef casserole. He stopped once again next to the three mounted fighters, playing for two of them-once again, the green haired archer. He was really getting his money's worth. All that trouble getting it seemed like a waste now, especially since his life was basically OVER. But alas, if these people so craved blood, he was going to let them at it since if they satiated their thirst now, they'd hold off from killing him for the time being. Move to M7, play for Idei and Rayne
