  1. I had originally made a three different lines where I made the black parts white, red, or pink respectively but this is what Ame said about them on page 4. I just followed her suggestion as close as I could. But yeah, I'd prefer a gothi shiny line where the black part has been changed because since in the Gen 3 thread we made a gothy Gardevoir so I think I'd be neat if we had a bright, happy Gothi line; like a cheerleader Gothitelle. Yours looks pretty good too.
  2. Okay I made several Gothitelle sprites and tried to follow Ame's suggestion as close I could. I tried doing a full color reversal of the bows and face. the bows looked fine but the face was awful, the eyes and face merged together, kinda looking like Sonic the Hedgehog eyes. I made 4 other face/hand color options and I want to know which ones you think are worth doing the full line with or if I should try a different bow color. First row: Full Reverse, Ponyta toned, Pangoro toned Second Row: Pangoro toned, Light Skinned Third row: Dark skinned I'm thinking of seeing how it looks with yellow, red, or blue bows but I want to settle on a face/hands tone first.
  3. Hmm... Husky or Fox could look interesting but since we did Grumpy Cat for purrugly Doge could work too. In my opinion try fox and husky first. A beagle, collie, or old english sheepdog could be neat too. Also, I absolutely love the Cherry Blossom Lilligant. I'd definitely grab one of those if it is implemented.
  4. I don't think so. While it is in the lead and Ame did say she really like the idea I don't think she said she had accepted the sprites. When she says that it is, it's locked in. Besides, even though Blue Moon will probably win out I couldn't let it go by without making a good chocolate or strawberry one and giving it a run for its money. I'll probably work on the Gothi sprites Ame asked for. Should be easier since it's only the face and ribbons but I'm not sure about making it a 1:1 switch because they eyes might blend with the rest of the face.
  5. Here we go with an updated and greatly improved Chocolate Vanillite line. I took the advice of taking colors from photos of ice cream, hopefully it doesn't look like poop anymore. I did the same with the cone part but I'm not sure about it since it looks a tad bit fleshy. The cones on the vanillites are different since they were disturbingly fleshy with the old color set. I also made a strawberry/cotton candy/pink line too. I based it off colors from Cherrim's sunshine mode. I'm pretty sure the faces could use some work but I want some feedback first. Hopefully the colors aren't blending into each other too much. Chocolate Vanillite Line Strawberry Vanillite Line
  6. As much as I love Zeta/Omicron, since it was my very first pokemon game it did have a lot of flaws, especially the very limited soundtrack, recolored sprites, and stuff but it did have a lot of fun things like the 2nd Region Shadow Pokemon arc, the secret base actually feeling like a base, and plenty of post elite 4 content. I liked that the focus was on beating the enemy team rather than being the best but it was probably overhyped. Insurgence looks to be trying to avoid/fix the mistakes that were made in Zeta/Omicron. I'm not sure if it could be considered under rated if it's still in very early alpha but Generation 0 looks like it could be very interesting since you get to play as a young Oak or Agatha. The creator said he's designing it more like a traditional, albeit very difficult RPG, rather than a typical pokemon game. Gym-wise you have to beat it all in one shot, no leaving to heal, and if you fail you are heavily penalized. Apparently if you don't look around the first town for hidden items and stuff you'll get your clock thoroughly cleaned by the first trainer you come across. All held items have a use limit, this is to offset the fact that you don't have to constantly buy new equipment for your pokemon like you do in other JRPGs. There are a lot side quests as well. I think this is one that could be worth keeping an eye on, especially if you like challenging pokemon games.
  7. Try yellowish/tan/brown since that's the traditional cone colors. What's the plan for the ice chunk arms.
  8. I used the shading from Mamoswine as the base for the chocolate since I thought it looked like a good chocolate color, maybe I should've gone for something darker. Would the browns from litleo or bouffalant's afro work better?
  9. Here's some Gothitelle shinies I did. The first set is a simple inversion, it was my first shot at anything sprite-ish so they probably need a lot of work. With Gothorita I had trouble keeping the eyes from blending into the rest of her head. With Gothita I had a lot of trouble with her belt/diamond things and I'm not sure what to do to make it look better. Here's some pink ones I did. I figured since we made a gothy Gardevoir we could do a peppy, cheery Gothitelle. I changed the face color because it blended too much with the pink. I also made a red one. I haven't done the full line like this since I wanted to gauge people's reactions. Also I'm not sure about the black lips. Also if people want I could try it in yellow. I also tried my hand at Vanilluxe. I know Ame wanted Rainbow Sherbert but I did it in chocolate since chocolate is the opposite of vanilla. I'm just a little stumped with it though. I'm not sure what to do with the shiny part on the cone since I envision it as a waffle cone rather than ice. Also the chunks in it, I wanted the ice shards to look like chocolate chunks but I couldn't figure out how to make them look right and not blend. Right now they look more like rocks. I'm not 100% on the faces too. So some advice would be appreciated.
  10. I'm mainly looking for a drifblim and tropius since those are two event mon I missed. This is mainly for potential dex completion. Though I wouldn't mind a shroomish or non-event starter outside of chimchar or bulbasaur. I already have a pretty good army of trained mon at my disposal but knowing reborn I'll probably need more. Edit: Here's the mon I'm willing to trade in the proper format. First are the mon with unavailable TMs bred on and then are shinies with good IVs. I have most of the mon available episode 12+ mon too. 11. I may just have gotten lucky but my camerupt just swept through them like nothing else. True, she is ev trained pretty well and had a focus band on but I was able to knock out all of her mon by spamming Earthquake or rock slide. I used my other mon as healers. I was absolutely stunned after I managed to beat her in less than 3 tries.
  12. I trained up a Jynx with perish Song and put a quick claw on her. I put her in front and it was only a matter of resetting until she went first and deciding who'd get the exp.
  13. Definitely keep camerupt levelled up. Mine pretty much solo'd the fire gym while wearing a Focus Band. You've got a lot of good mon, just train up the ones in rotation and tweak their natures, moves. As for movesets go with what fits you're fighting style best, though aim for diverse movesets that play to your mon's best stats.
  14. Two of my biggest surprises were my beautifly and arbok. I first grabbed my arbok because I needed a second mon to save the panpour on the bridge so I just grabbed the first one that I found. He turned out to be one of my powerhouses/badasses. He's played a critical role in every pulse machine battle. I'd to EV train him and shuffle around his moveset to keep him useful in the late game here, still not bad for grabbing a random mon off the street. As for my beautifly I never expected her to be as much of an early game powerhouse. I thought she'd be a support mon while my noibat would be the badass flying mon sweeping through everything that stood in her way but it was the opposite. True she hasn't done much since the normal gym but that beautifly was an absolute monster thanks to her wide moveset.
  15. To be honest I barely have any headcanon about my protag, it's the blonde girl, besides her maybe being the daughter of my protag from Pokemon Zeta. I've never actually thought about it much. It's my mon that have all the personality, most have an in-depth backstory and a few of them have even had full blown character arcs. It's because I've been almost religiously writing down almost everything they do. It helps me remember it better. One of my favorites is my hobo/shady drifter Linoone.
  16. You can get Manectric and Igglybuff pretty early and Donphan isn't too far in but the others are a pretty good ways in, as for Megas I don't expect we'll be getting them until post-game, if ever. I guarantee you'll have at least a dozen or so primary and secondary mon you use regularly, as well as a dozen more one time mon you have to train up for specific gym/Team Meteor fights. The game makes you train up mon and consider others you'd usually ignore. I ended up training a Vanilluxe even though I had previously thought it was the dumbest looking pokemon ever.
  17. Normally I don't bother with EV/IV stuff and breeding. I only got into EV training because at that time we could breed TMs so I wanted to do something more constructive to do while biking around trying to hatch eggs. I EV'd all of my mon, especially my early ones since I had grown really attached to them and I didn't want to relate them to a retirement box. EV training gave my Simipour, Arbok, and a few others enough of a stat boost to still be useful here in the late game. I didn't start marginally paying attention to IVs until half way through. I'm not one who'd breed for weeks just for the perfect one but I'd be hesitant to train a special attacker with less than 10 in that stat. As difficult as Reborn is, EV/IV stuff would help you but having solid movesets is more important.
  18. One of my strongest mon early game was my beautifly Mothra. She dominated and was a force to be reckoned with until the Ice Gym. She isn't as useful anymore but her varied moveset is really good for coverage. Other surprises were my simipour Aquaris and my arbok Kaa. Throughout my game they've been monsters. Kaa has been vital in every Pulse Machine battle, if not the sweeper or finisher. Later on I had to rework his moveset to make him a completely physical attacker rather than a mixed physical/special so he could be a glass cannon. My Simipour's Scald has saved me on so many occasions. Mine knows crunch, scald, surf, and acrobatics. He's been very good as an opening mon, making leaders use their potions on their first mon so my other mon can take down their tougher ones. With some EV training I was able to turn him into a glass cannon almost as good as my Infernape. Another mon I never thought I'd think of using was Vanilluxe. It's mainly because he can learn freeze-dry, which will be exceedingly useful in the water gym, and he has better defense and speed than Crygonal or Aurorus.
  19. You can still get quick claws off the sandshrews in the caves under the grand stairway. Just need a mon with frisk and/or covet. I suggest training up a mon that knows perish song. It works just as well as Destiny Bond but you can actually get experience using Perish song. I trained up a Jynx to be my Arceus slayer. So unless Ame decides to change wild mon being able to have items you should be able to get plenty of quick claws if you're patient enough.
  20. What would be really nice is the ability to make multiple save files of the game without having to go to the save data folder and removing the old one. Zeta/Omicron and Insurgence have this feature and they use the same system as Reborn does so I can't imagine it would be all that difficult to implement it. It isn't nescesary but it's one of those convenience things that would be cool for those of us who plan on playing the game multiple times
  21. If common candies have to be increased in price I'd say 1000-2000 not exorbitantly high but high enough to make it hurt a little, but I think it's fine as is seeing how difficult the game already is. Pretty much the whole of reborn is working against the players what with the limited mon availability, low obedience caps, almost no good tms, tough gyms with fields that severely nerf half of their weaknesses, and the fields. I haven't used common candy too often since I always did a soft reset if I lost a gym, or tough battle. Though I do have 13 mon on my active team and 12 more in reserves/in-training. The game is tough enough that it made me EV train all my mon and pay attention to IVs, and I'm the kind of person who usually thinks EV/IV training is a complete waste of time. While making common candies rare or more expensive would make it much harder it would also make the game more grindy and annoying for some people. The players should have at least one safety net.
  22. Typically I prefer to have a fire, grass, earth or rock, psychic, and steel on my team. I've never really cared for or bothered with Dragon types since they just seem overhyped and overrated. I don't use flying, ghost, or normal types too often either. A lot of it just depends on the situation and which types are available early on.
  23. Thanks to farming nuggets off grimers and EV reducing berries my 14 main mon and 12 secondary mon are fully and near perfectly EV trained, except my hobo Linoone. So I'm ready for whatever ep. 15 will throw at me. Which usually means I'll barely squeak by and have to train 2-3 more mon.

  24. Mawile can learn the fairy move Play Rough and Crunch for Dark naturally. Though it won't help you much for Shade since you get them after Aya. Forretress has Payback at lvl 36, Steelix can learn crunch at lvl 37, and and bronzor can learn feint attack and payback. Though of these I'm not sure if you can get any of them besides Forretress before shade.
  25. A fast electric type like Manectric, heliolisk, or Pachirisu are great against Corey's dragalage. One of the keys for me was taking out the dragalage before it could put down toxic spikes. Diggersby would be very good just have to be careful of his croagunk and dragalage. The numel that you can get by the Peridot Train Station when it is raining could be really good too since it learns magnitude and earthpower before level 30. But like the others you'll do fine if you integrate Diggersby and a good fast thunder type on your team.
