  1. Wild Magnemites have a small chance to hold Metal Coat! It may be frustrating until you find one but since Steelix is one of your favorite pokemon it will probably worth the wasted time And yes, Mist changes the field into Misty Terrain for 5 turns. But after that it will return to the Wasteland field.
  2. Give Camerupt Quick Claw, pray to go 1st and use EQ. That will change the field. If it faints, revive it and repeat 2 more times to EQ it in the cave field. The cieling will collapse and will KO the Arceus. I did something like in my monorock accidentally and was really surprised
  3. Ursaring with Guts and Facade can do a crap ton of damage if it becomes poison from TSpikes or something (Quick Feet is also acceptable). Houndoom can learn Sucker Punch via breeding that will go 1st and OHKO Gengar. Quagsire is indeed a nice option with that Mud Bomb and Yawn and Amnesia can also be helpful. Prankster Murkrow with Perish Song can guarantee a kill when Aya has 3 or less mons. Steelix's typing is amazing + its Dig doesn't get nerfed on the field
  4. Swampert is what you are asking, especialy its mega evolution under the rain! Other options are Conkeldurr, Mega-Gyarados (normal is still decent), Gallade (mega or not), Mega-Kangaskhan, Aegislash, Mega-Blastoise, Heatran, Hydreigon
  5. I want teamates that works well with Zoroark's Illusion! I know its hard to make Zoroark work in doubles but it is one of my favorite mons to mess up with the opponent's mind
  6. Actually Magcargo is really good. I have swept with him Shelly, Shade, Serra, Noel, a thousand times Fern and has helped a lot with destroying fields. It just need to face specific pokemon to set up for a sweep!
  7. The only strategy that comes to mind is to give Magcargo an Air Baloon and set up 3 times hoping for the AI to only use EQ
  8. Mega Luke sweeping in Triples! http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogontriples-286707929
  9. Changed my team a bit. I replaced Mawile with Gliscor cause it gives me immunity to both Ground and Electric moves. Switched Heat Wave and Wild Charge on Typhlosion with Flamethrower and Focus Blast. Gave Gallade Memento over Leaf Blade but this one is still in testing! Lapras @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 100 SpA / 152 SpD Modest Nature - Freeze-Dry - Heal Bell - Ice Shard - Surf Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature - Eruption - Flamethrower - Hidden Power [Grass] - Focus Blast Gliscor @ Toxic Orb Ability: Poison Heal EVs: 184 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Spe Adamant Nature - Earthquake - Stealth Rock - Taunt - U-turn Gallade @ Leftovers Ability: Justified EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Adamant Nature - Will-O-Wisp - Drain Punch - Memento - Ice Punch Zoroark @ Choice Scarf Ability: Illusion EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature - Knock Off - Dark Pulse - Flamethrower - Trick Sylveon @ Leftovers Ability: Pixilate EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD Calm Nature - Hyper Voice - Wish - Protect - Helping Hand
  10. Lapras winning games faster than Talonfame using Brave Bird!!! http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ounomega-284634618
  11. After days of testing various teams I decided that I want to challenge the league with my favorites rather than the strongest pokemon. So I decided to pick one beloved pokemon from each generation and I came up with the team bellow: Lapras @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 100 SpA / 152 SpD Modest Nature - Freeze-Dry - Heal Bell - Ice Shard - Surf I know that Walrein is waaaay better than Lapras and does everything better, but I wanted to give a shot to one of the pokemon I felt in love with the 1st sight. The EVs are not standard and they will constantly swich, but most of the times it will be bulky. I gave it Heal Bell instead of giving it to Sylveon cause I wanted Helping Hand for doubles and triples. Ice Shard for some priority other than Sucker Punch in my team. Too bad that Lapras doesn't get Scald . Generally I'm not really sure about this moveset and I want some recomendations Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature - Eruption - Heat Wave - Hidden Power [Grass] - Wild Charge The main special attacker of the team. Most of the times it will be choiced, but this can change anytime. Eruption is the best move on Typhlosion and is going to hurt a lot! I chose Heat Wave for the double battles, but Eruption still hits both opponents so it might change to Fire Blast or Flamethrower (the later synergises better with Zoroark's Illusion). HP Grass is for that annoying Water/Ground mons. Wild Charge is for other Water types that have better special bulk than physical and for any Gyarados that might pop up. I still consider Focus Blast as an option. Mawile @ Life Orb Ability: Sheer Force EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD Adamant Nature - Play Rough - Iron Head - Sucker Punch - Stealth Rock Mawile without its Mega is not that good but I really like its typing. Sheer Force and Life Orb gives a good damage output and negates the recoil when I use my STAB moves. Sucker Punch is a really good priority move that helps Mawile's poor speed. I put Stealth Rock on it cause I wanted at least one kind of hazzard. Before that I was using Rock Slide but I found hazzards more useful. Ability, item and EVs are going to change in case I want to Intimidate some threats and/or want tank some hits that no other of my team can't. Gallade @ Leftovers Ability: Justified EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD Adamant Nature - Will-O-Wisp - Drain Punch - Leaf Blade - Ice Punch Another bulky physical attacker. Usally I love to set up with SD but after building a fighting mono thinking that redemption league was a monoteam challenge, I came up with this set. Maybe not the best Gallade can do, but I wanted to be creative since I challenge for the fun. Zoroark @ Choice Scarf Ability: Illusion EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature - Knock Off - Dark Pulse - Flamethrower - Trick I can write all day for how much I love using Zoroark. Even if the leaders know my movesets they still don't know what pokemon is out! Trick and Knock Off might seem contradicting but I love messing with the items. Second Scarf might seems weird on the team, but neither of them is going to be scarfed all the time. Sylveon @ Leftovers Ability: Pixilate EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD Calm Nature - Hyper Voice - Wish - Protect - Helping Hand Sylveon was my least favorite eeveelution until I built my 1st OU team and wanted a special defensive pokemon. The set is pretty much the same I was using in OU except I had Heal Bell over Helping Hand. Someone might wonder why to waste a turn to boost my 2nd mon's attack rather than hit all the opponents with a powerful Pixilated Hyper Voice? The answer is I don't know but Helping Hand boosted Eruption sound really broken to me
  12. Quick question: Can we change ivs and gender between battles like abilities, evs and items? With the ivs we can change the HP type giving different coverage each time to a pokemon (or play some mind games with minimum or max speed) Also if someone for a reason wants to use attract/captivate/cute charm etc. if he uses the same gender gym leaders will always know what gender they pokemons have to be.
  13. Call me stupid, but all this time I though for some reason that our team must be a monotype >.< It seems I have to start building a team all over (or go insane enough and try to take on the league with a fighting mono!)
  14. My team also has no OU mons. My highest ranking pokemon is BL and got 2 UU, 2 RU and 1 NU. Although I'm still considering swaping some pokemon around! Regarding teambuilding, can we create a discussion topic for ideas/opinions etc. ?
  15. Maybe a special move tutor that learns Sketch only once for each Palateon? Also how about protean for its HA? Maybe it would be too op, but it doesn't have the best learnset to utilize it as good as Greninja.
  16. I know it is possible, but since the old reborn league the mechanics have changed quite a bit and many more options have become viable for doubles. New moves Wide Guard, Heal Pulse etc. are really good moves but only for doubles. So if I need to have one of these for a double battle it becomes a uselles moveslot in singles. Also stalling mons while they are good in singles, in doubles they are less effective due to how fast the format is.If we don't know what format we are going to play and have a to build a team for everything, so gym leaders should do! They already have the upper hand + secondary teams, it would be better if the format was chosen randomly before the challenge somehow.
  17. I really want to take on the league cause I really love the challenge it provides. But I hesitate for only one thing: since our pokemon AND their moves are set, how we can perform in both singles and doubles/triples? Since the leaders choose the format their teams are ready for what the chose. But we can't make a team that can perform good enough in both singles and doubles. So how about we register 2 teams with the same pokemons but with different movesets for each style? For example in the singles team a Marowak has Bonemerang and Stone Edge but in the doubles team it has Eartquake and Rock Slide. I think it should be consider something like this cause trying to make a pokemon work for both singles and doubles is almost impossible
  18. Chandelure doesn't have levitate! It can have either flash fire, flame body or inflitrator(shadow tag only in gen 5) and I think Shade's Chandelure has Flash Fire (correct me someone if I'm wrong)
  19. If Magcargo can set up twice (holding a white herb) can take 2 physical hits easily, outspeed anything and KO everything with Lava Plume, except Chandelure that gets destroyed by Ancientpower! But I agree that you should use Emolga against Gengar. Nuzzle it first turn for the paralyze and then either use Acrobatics or field boosted Electro Ball (there is also a chance that the filed nerfs it but pray for the boost )
  20. The AI currently is pretty messed up since the update to Essentials 15. But it should be fixed at the new episode I think! Also you need to break the field and turn it from factory field to short-circuit field for this to happen! So I find it interesting that you benefit from the AI in this situation (even if its cheap!)
  21. Maybe relearn Torkoal Shell Smash and try to set up 2 or 3 times on his Wigglytuff. Then burn the field with either Erruption or Heat Wave (I prefer Heat Wave cause it doesn't depends on your hp) and keep spamming it for the rest of the team since the new burning field will boost it even further! Also make it hold a white herb for the 1st stat drop
  22. In my ground mono I found out that Rotom can't touch Diggersby at all! The best it can do is Confuse Ray which is annoying but you will be fine. But then you will ask what Diggersby can do in return since it only gets normal, ground and fighting moves at this point. And the answer is Odor Sleuth! This will let you hit it with your normal STAB for neutral damage (and I think it has Double Team which Odor Sleuth ignores the evasion boosts). Furthermore it can learn Nature Power wich will turn into Discharge due to the field. You might think that it is useless but in fact Discharge turns the field into factory field and then Nature Power becomes a field-boosted Gear Grind!
  23. When you get so lucky that you feel bad for your opponent http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/randombattle-280169697
  24. I have a Serperior in my second save file, but unfortunately I'm past agate circus right now so I can't breed it :/ I can revert to an older episode to return to the city but I don't remember at which part I'm right now and if I have to defeat a gym leader. Maybe in the next days I'll start that save again and see what I can do for you
  25. How to beat Shade with 2 pokemons: Lead with Curse Onix. Set up 3-4 times on his Gengar while it spams Shadow Claw. If it uses Hypnosis Heal with an Awakening. Use Gyro Ball for the KO! Shade calls that he will send out his Trevenant. You send a Magcargo holding a White Herb and knows Shell Smash. Set up twice while and then wreck havoc with Lava Plume to the rest of his team and Ancientpower for his Chandelure! But if you insist to use Skuntank and Mightyena the Beedrills/Carnivines in the forest are good for the att EVs and I think the trainers in the Grand Hall are available by now!
