  1. Nope. Come forth... *random guess*... ICSW
  2. I have been waiting till it got 23:59 to wish you a happy birthday. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/10/10ba1282b4c68d18a22550e4bdd963f90e90ca2d08e8674ac6ed7c10993fc4a9.jpg I have every reason to call you a bro here, and I see many others do as well. Stay chill, cool, swell, and from my heart wish you the best of luck in what you are aiming to accomplish in your life... and what you aren't I wish I could convey more in a simple text message, but we know each other well enough to understand that would be impossibru. Come get another one.
  3. Did you know.... ... Tangrowth can take a +2 Brave Bird from Talonflame? http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-419534583
  4. Every time I decide to use M-Zam, an opponent has scarf Gengar. Is this a new trend I have not caught up with yet?

  5. In the meantime everyone who has already prepared for the next episode can save their progress at a separate folder (usually where you keep backup saves at key points), and start a new playthrough perhaps with a challenge. There are monogen challenges, nuzlocke challenges, monotype challenges and I know a cool guy who is doing an XX<BST challenge. Ame, I've noticed that between certain gym battles, the MC's pokemon are going to be underleveled unless they decide to return to the Grand Hall to grind. The wild pokemon give so little exp it's pointless to battle them, and there aren't many trainers that help solve this issue. This happens mostly on areas that people avoid or cannot access easily, like the Wasteland, Route2, Iolia Valley and the Mountain Trio. Especially post Agate, there's this issue that battling Clown Indra with your underleveled pokemon has a high rate of failure, but you can't do otherwise because the people you can battle outside the circus are very few. I think adding a pokemaniac here and there or an event that gives a lot of exp could help alleviate the hours some of us spend battling the rainbow battles. In regards to the rainbow battles, they don't seem that balanced to each other. Yellow is by far the easiest one, since it has Dedenne, while Red has 3 pokemon viable for OU. Also, why not replace Simipour from the Blue team with something non-Water (since the other 2 mons are Water type) that's much more threatening? A final question: Will we speak to Terra again?
  6. Use Focus Blast they said. It will improve your Alakazam they said.

      Ironbound

Hey, if you didn't wanna miss you could always use HP Fighting. Or Drain Punch, which it funnily gets.

    3. Noir

      Noir

Well, Focus Blast is technically a double-edged sword, and I'd steel prefer HP Fire on Zam for Steels like Scizor and Skarm

Scizor OHKOs with Bullet punch. As for Skarm, it can't really take Shadow Balls.

  7. Julia and Florinia were there too with some interesting backstory for our characters, booms, and breaking the 4th wall.
  8. Well it depends on how many bugs and/or problems you can find. Sometimes Opal Ward may not be accessible for some reason, random people jumping on tables, getting items for free because some walls become walkable, M-Rayquaza appearing in your very first battle with a trainer outside the Grand Hall, and more. As for typos and dialogue lines disappearing, those usually stay a while unnoticed or unfixed as more pressing matters have a +1.5 priority. Edit: Instead of a John Cena meme, I would very much prefer Solaris say something along the lines: "You know nothing, Orderly John"
  9. Mega Poliwrath Type: Water/Fighting Ability: Water Absorb HP: 90 Atk: 95 --> 130 (+35) Def: 95 --> 120 (+25) SpA: 70 --> 70 (+0) SpD: 90 --> 110 (+20) Spe: 70 --> 90 (+20) It's high time Poliwrath returned to the competitive scene. This strong fellow from Gen1, whom everyone forgets in favor for his derpier brother Politoed, came back with a mega evolution that's going to shake the waters and destroy your stall teams. Pretty balanced between offense and defense like the normal form, but versatile enough to find itself in many different teams. With a key immunity to Water, it guarantees that the opponent will not spam Scald that easily, and with a nice 90/120/110 bulk, it can take some hits and strike back with powerful STAB and coverage moves, as Poliwrath's movepool is quite diverse. In this take, I gave the remaining points to speed, so I make it certain to outspeed both Breloom and Bisharp, things that could bet on the speed tie to kill Poliwrath. Possible Sets: I tried to make it powerful enough, but not broken. You can take a look at some calcs I made against common OU/UU pokemon.
  10. After missing 3 times in a row with Icy Wind in my last game, I'm a bit iffy about MS. I chose Lava Plume mainly for the 100%Acc and the 30% chance to burn, which is quite spammable. About T-wave on thundy, I might switch Knock Off for it, but then I lose some unpredictability. M-Zard-X at +1 seems threatening, but I gave those 24Def EVs on Keldeo to make sure that doesn't happen if I bring it in for free with no SR. If it's the 3-attacks set, I'll have to play around it. If its Gyarados (which is rare and usually has Sub/DD), it's the same story with Waterfall and Crunch. Other speedsters are dealt by Excadrill or can't get past Heatran. Hawlucha is indeed a problem, but Thundy can tank a hit or two, depending on the situation, destroy possible subs or the pokemon itself for Weavile to kill afterwards either with priority or Icicle Crash. What else did you have in mind? The Keldeo EVs were basically me trying to balance survivability and damage output. As they stand now, I can kill anything I like while Specz, and survive a +1 Dragon Claw by Zard-X and an Adamant Sand Rush Excadrill EQ at full health and OHKO back with Hydro Pump (or even Scald for Excadrill). Zard doesn't do much to Tyranitar. Around 33% max. However, it's much better than the 12% the other moves would do, plus it's going to be switching in and out in rocks, since Keldeo and Excadrill will be constantly chasing it. EQ on Zard can potentially kill M-Diancie when at +1, and destroys Magnezone and Heatran when it DDs up on their switch. I don't really have any other relevant calcs, since it's a move mostly used after the Sun turns are over. Under Sun Flamethrower is usually the answer to everything.
  11. http://9gag.com/gag/avnyO2W It's been 3 days...
  12. Alakazam 85lvl Machamp 85lvl Golem 85lvl And I would rent a room in the first town, just to spite any character that think they can enter people's rooms in RPG games and live to tell the tale. Also have a masterball behind me.
  13. Welcome to another RMT. Today's special is Mega Charizard Y ... with a twist. ~ ~ ~ Even if it's a fan-favorite and has two mega evolutions, completely different from each other, the team preview almost always lets you know which Zard you are going to face. I decided to experiment with a set different than the usual, and pair it with Weavile, a pokemon I usually avoid using because of its frailty. The rest of the team are here to provide support and pave the way for the other two to sweep, because if left unchecked they might become a win-con themselves. Since it's Hyper Offensive, it doesn't have good answers to everything, and most notably Scald and Knock Off absorbers. It occasionally has issues with Paralysis spam, but I guess we can't have everything now, can we? Without further ado, let's introduce the team! Vegan (Heatran) @ Leftovers Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Lava Plume - Toxic - Taunt - Stealth Rock Fast and bulky. Heatran is my SR setter and a way to deal with Stall and stop certain special sweepers on their tracks. Taunt helps deal with Stall, when my wallbreaking abilities are not enough, and actually shuts down a lot of pokemon. Among those are slow defoggers and status spreaders. Its natural bulk allows me to invest in speed, which may be crucial at certain points. Kratos (Thundurus) @ Life Orb Ability: Defiant EVs: 68 Atk / 188 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature - Knock Off - Superpower - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [ice] Thundy is there remove any problematic pokemon that may disrupt my sweep. A mixed set is something people don't expect often, and quite many Latias and Scizor think they can use Defog to get rid of Heatran's SR, only to increase my Atk stat and help me sweep them faster. Since I can bluff a Prankster Thunder-wave set, I force a lot of switches which may come in handy when dealing with inexperienced opponents, switching randomly or carelessly around. A surprize kill against a Ferrothorn or Chansey is never a bad thing anyway. The EVs don't provide wallbreaker abilities, but it passes judgement where it's due. Adelle (Charizard-Mega-Y) @ Charizardite Y Ability: Blaze EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hasty Nature - Flamethrower - Earthquake - Solar Beam - Dragon Dance Time for the real star of the team to shine. If you weren't convinced by Thundurus trying to hit both ways, allow Zard to do a demonstration. Sun allows me to run Flamethrower instead of Fire Blast because an untimely miss may make my game much harder to win, and Solarbeam is there to remove shits like Keldeo or Slowbro, whom I can bait to come in with Dragon Dance, expecting a Zard X. Said move allows me to outspeed scarfed Landos, M-Manectric, and M-Lopunny who think they can enter next turn and OHKO me. It also boosts EQ, which I keep for things like Heatran or weakened Tyranitar, Tentacruel and Dragalge, which could wall me all day, since I don't exactly trust the accuracy of Focus Blast. Vinny Diesel (Weavile) @ Life Orb Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Icicle Crash - Knock Off - Pursuit - Ice Shard Pretty standard set. At first I had Poison Jab in place of Pursuit, but then I saw that Excadrill was more than enough to get the job done against Fairies, so I thought it would be a nice move to turn my Weavile into a trapper. Usually people expect Low Kick as the last move, so they have no second thoughts about switching their Slowbro, Starmie or Alakazam out, as soon as they see me switch into Weavile or bring it in after a teammate dies. As much as I'd like to remove a random item or do damage in general, I cannot allow things like Slowbro to live much longer and regain health with Regenerator, so I make sure I kill them. The same goes for strong things that expect to survive and come back later to retaliate. The rest is pretty standard, and Ice Shard helps me finish some things with priority or negate an opponent's Sucker Punch (which I love doing). KGB (Excadrill) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Mold Breaker EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Iron Head - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Rapid Spin KGB because you know, because he's a mole and is going to pass confidential information to other gardeners? No? Ok. Sad-face Standard scarf Excadrill set. This thing allows me to revenge kill certain things or bypass Levitaters and hit for hard damage. When rocks are in the field, I'm forcing my opponent to make a hard decision and either harm their birds or risk a lost pokemon. I love those 50/50s because I'm not even forced to mindlessly go for EQ. That said, it's a guaranteed method of removing rocks unless I'm pinned against the rare Breloom/Conkeldurr/Lucario or if Azumarill is still alive. Iron Head for Fairies and other stuff that I can't harm with EQ, and Rock Slide for specific fliers who cannot destroy me with their non-priority moves, like M-Pinsir, Talonflame or Volcarona. It also has a nice typing which can help tank a random Draco Meteor from Latios and strike back. Pony2012 (Keldeo) @ Choice Specs Ability: Justified EVs: 24 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Scald - Hydro Pump - Secret Sword - Icy Wind Also another common set. I used to run HP-Flying to deal with Amoonguss and Celebi, but in the end the speed drop may allow me to bring in another member and sweep, not only in the case of a Grass/Dragon type, but also to hinder setup sweepers. Besides that, Specs Keldeo is a threat for ~70% of the metagame, so even if I don't kill everything, I will have hurt some threats enough for the rest of the team to clean safely. Being able to hit both Special Atk and Physical Atk with the same boosting item is a gift few pokemon have, and of course the casual Scald Burn is always welcome. Oh and I stole that nickname from someone who used Keldeo in Nations2, but I don't remember who it was. So that's the team! I would very much appreciate any feedback, constructive criticism or just your general thoughts on the team. Your input as a 3rd-view spectator means a lot for me to improve my teams and gain battle experience. Thanks for reading this far, and I hope you have a nice day, many battles and lots of fun in your lives in general. Cheers.
  14. Rose up to OU and never used again, so it's dropping down again to NU where it actually belongs.
  15. It's in the same timeline in which you actually beat the Garchomp and fight Solaris alongside Julia. After that incident, could we upgrade John into something less ordinary than a simple orderly? He clearly seems more important than the others both when you meet him at the hospital/orphanage and later, after you defeat the order in WTC.
  16. I'd recommend taking the "Dramalon posts" elsewhere. At this point, I'd like to thank some people for the effort they put into this. I know I might have not been active for the biggest part of Nations, but I still monitored the whole procedure in my very limited spare time. First of all, shoutout to the other committee members who organized the whole thing: Jericho, Rose, Frarpeto, Pyrrhon, and Hukuna, as well as the substitutes/extra help that helped in the challenge discussions and the whole organization of the league, Sheep, Chubb, Tacos. I don't think I've forgotten anyone. They are all great, and deserve an applause. Then to my team, Gaia, which is the fat team, the gnome team, the titan team, and a lovely group of people who may be different, but all awesome, even if some left us either completely or stolen by other teams (I'm looking at you Ravenholts and the precious pig you stole from us). Good job everyone. The result does not reflect your worth, but the effort shows your potential. I'm happy to have been part of the group, even when the group didn't notice I was there. Dark Desire, you know how to lead, and you might have been unlucky, but you still are one of the best players around here, and that's a fact. Also, thanks to Zumi for making the fantastic Nations 2 Logo, as well as the Championship Version of it. She also made a great Amazon Nation logo and I'm still curious to see what her version of Avalon would be if she remained there before we had to make certain team switches for balance and better inner organization reasons. Last but not least, thanks to all of you for participating. I believe everyone has gained something from this competition, be it friends, battling experience, or even some good drama to watch, while eating popcorn. Win or Lose; in the end it doesn't matter. All it matters was the journey and the fun we had while planning and playing. Get out there, watch the championship rounds and get ready for more pokemon battles.
  17. Check the FanGame Expose section. There is a thread about this.
  18. Causality increases the possibility of future events, yet the events themselves are still controlled by humans, which means that the randomness in our brains can and will manifest in the real world, creating unforeseen scenarios. Nothing can be predetermined, because there is nothing to determine it. Social constructs and rules do not oppress your free will. They regulate the actions you are allowed to make in order not to oppress someone else's free will. Where I come from we have a saying: "Your freedom stops when another's begins". If what you wish is anarchy and social chaos, you cannot base your views on the concept of free-will and its liberation, because it's humans that set those rules you follow. So the question appears "From whom?". We need to properly work together, as a pack, because of our urges and our innate ability to understand that this is the most effective way to survive. Society provides for its members, and they work to sustain it. As education increases in quality and more opportunities become accessible for more people, human rights will be better protected, intellectual capabilities will improve, and you will protect parts of the planet you've leeched on for centuries in order to survive. If a divine power were to manipulate your moves or the society's moves because your individuality is nonconsequential or among the randomness of individual particles that's inconvenient to constantly monitor, they would have taken a politically correct position and reset the whole situation you are in, with better rules and terms, so you can live your life more happily. If you respect your fellow human beings, there isn't much you can't do. You are born, raised, educated so your general knowledge of the world is sufficient for you t choose an academic direction of your pleasing, you decide to study or occupate yourself with something more technical or agrarian, attend to social events, have hobbies, travel the world and visit different places, interact with billions of unique NPCs (either of your species or others), and make friends, family and descendants. Your lifespan is not infinite, but as the world progresses forward towards a more ideal state, it will be filled with more amazing stuff to do and appreciate. While we're not at that stage yet, your free will is what makes you decide what to become, what your character will be, whom to befriend and marry, how to educate your child and what kinds of experiences you will get. We've long transcended from the simple colony mentality thousands of years ago, and the social problems of this world exist and are noticed just because we have free will and the ability to judge something as good or bad, despite the fact that it may or may not be natural in terms of how the law of the jungle may dictate, because we're above such laws. Your ego alone attests to your individuality, aka your free will. We may prefer to ignore the uniqueness of our actions, because it's easier to deflect blame, or we are inexperienced to discern which events and decisions are simply affected by our environment and the choices of the others around us, yet it's still our own choices that define us. The brain is being regulated as you age, and every single sensory information adds to its function and anatomy. The events of our life, if seen as a linear path to our current state, only have a secondary assistant role, not a primary. Therefore people with similar backgrounds and sensory input do not end up the same, and this is also seen with twins, the most prominent example of this case. So if causality is not enough to determine you, then nothing is. Your free will is safe.
  19. The Leech Seed strategy can work either with Mystery Egg Cottonee, Chesnaught who can tank EQ and Stone Edge, Sashed pokemon and then switch into a lvl1 Geodude or Pineco with Sturdy holding an Aspear Berry just in case Fire Fang managed to burn you. Since you already have turns to waste, teach Pineco that lovely TM, Struggle Bug, Shelly gave you, and use it to attack without making contact. Another method I've used is Curse Cofagrigus which can also tank a hit. If you wish to toxic it down, make sure you have a user of Heal Block or Embargo to stop those nasty Full Restores. The first time I battled that thing, I cursed it and then tried to predict every single move by switching around with Houndoom, Swoobat, Granbull and Chesnaught (to tank the Stone Edges). The second time I had a stall-fest with Jumpluff leech seeding it (luckily it missed so I kept my Sash) and Pineco using Struggle bug till it died, along with 2 ethers for pp recovery.
  20. Would it not be a problem making all these animations for flying pokemon, that nobody is going to see? I'd rather you just made it a Pidgeot sprite or something completely new, without having to include all flyers and whatnot, like Cal riding a Charizard that cannot learn Fly.
  21. Shadows exist because light exists. Not a bad symbolism.
