  1. Elektabuzz needs to get them from somewhere too. Your safe bet to breed is Hitmonchan.
  2. In this case someone is not reading carefully. Speaking for my part, all points have been explained and solidified. Arguing for the sake of it would be counter-productive. Statements are judged on evidence, and not the way you present them, aka rhetoric, because sooner or later they will be disputed or verified, based on the case. Your analysis has a flaw in its first case. A person who likes raising their pokemon wouldn't decide to bring it down and back up again, but would gladly accept one in a level that makes sense for the environment it's in, but not at an already competitive level. To explain the environment, I'll present two examples: Joltix and Heracross Joltix is a low-level event pokemon. One can argue that the way you find it hints that it's constantly hiding from predators, therefore it couldn't be high level Heracross is also low-level. However it is seen constantly fighting with Pinsir, so it has to survive through force. Not to mention that you fight it at lvl55 and it suddenly drops to 30. This one should be raised a bit, say 40, in order for more people to use it. I believe these ones are clear about how I and other people see event pokemon. Edit after reading Kithros's post: Piplup is given to you in a competely different context than pokemon that fight in the wild to survive like Absol and Mismagius. It is regarded by its trainer as garbage that's only worth trading for drugs. Therefore it makes sense for it to be so low leveled, as it never actually fought. Most event pokemon are handouts. Therefore they could be theoretically speaking at any level. Since people are giving them away though, it makes more sense for them not to be trained, therefore low-level. Perhaps not complete babies. They could be low enough not to be instantly useful. The "wild pokemon" statement is probably misinterpreted here. When you receive pokemon as events in the wild, like Tropius, Nuzleaf, Heatmor, it makes sense that they are about the same level as the surrounding pokemon. They can be a little lower (aka low level pokemon) due to certain circumstances, but they won't be baby pokemon. Examples of such circumstances are Joltix hiding from forest predators, Vulpix and Smoochum being bullied by higher level pokemon, that essentially don't let new ones to train, and others. I can't cover every case in one post. I see your point, and it makes sense that some people don't have the patience to bring up more and different pokemon, and sometimes grinding gets repetitive. I like doing it at an extend because Reborn has a nice environment for experimentation (who would expect that Charlotte in ep13 could be beaten by a Honchkrow, a Manectric, a Swoobat and a recently caught Donphan?). My point is that you do not need to grind every single event pokemon. This is something you will do based on your individual interests. As event pokemon are considered better than those you normally find in the wild, and the best example for that is Route1, having to grind them up a bit means having to work a bit more for better pokemon. You can always pick pokemon a bit higher, but a bit worse than the events, and move on trying to use something you normally wouldn't. Both could work in the end, and both are under Reborn's "style" Sorry for the wall of text.
  3. Many shall the false prophets be, when a pariah by the name of Goomie, the sticky dragon shall come to power and gather it's legions. Fear not my brothers and sisters, as the real Lord will vanquish StickyGoomyThingie back to the realms of Giratina. Our belief is the true belief. Our god is the only god. Now, I believe it's Sonikku's turn to be sacrficed. Are you ready my child?
  4. I'm getting fond of M-Absol. What's happening to me?

I remember that feeling. M-Absol used to be one of my least favorites 9mostly because of the fake wing tufts) Then I tried using it in battle because <3 Magic Bounce and I just kinda love it now

  5. @Lagless, Kubrick is dead.
  6. Mega Absol. Because disasters are never enough.
  7. -.- If it is confusing, let me re-phraze it. When you receive an event (or catch a wild pokemon), which you want to use, 9/10 cases you will grind it. It is easy to bring it up to the level you want, because there are many places of scaling levels (aka for some, difficulty). Easy in terms of time as well, as you can use the exp. share. If you read my comments, you'll see mentions of its use on early event pokemon leveled up till the 50s, by the use of the exp share and parallel grind of a higher-leveled pokemon. This is a way to do EV training at the same time. Now that we're all at the same page, we can discuss about this: What I asked for was to put the event pokemon at an approximate level as the wild ones, only some levels lower, because they tend to be better and as such, can't be put on the same page as everything else in the area. I believe this is easy to understand and not nitpick on the specific words used. What you propose is indeed ridiculous, and I don't remember having suggested it. Nobody does, as it bears no reason to be done. Now do you really want to start a debate on which opinions are more "valid" than the others? When one addresses the value of somebody else's opinion, one should sit back and evaluate their's first.
  8. Neat, a new member! Welcome to our ranks! Check the column on your left. You'll find anything you need to get started. Reju can be considered Reborn's little brother, so you have a long way of joy playing both of these. Stay tuned for the newest changes in Reborn. If you like, you can chat with us, learn from the community, and play competitively on showdown. Link up left to get to our showdown server.
  9. Remove Surf and Leaf Blade from Gogoat and replace them with EQ and Milk Drink (if you dislike using items) Breed a new Zard with Dragon Pulse
  10. In the end Eagleby might be influencing people's vote. Stahp!
  11. As stated before, receiving lower level pokemon makes no difference as it is quite easy to grind them up. In this way, what you can accomplish is easier EV training and keeping moves you deem important. Given that the source of heart scales is mining and tedious Luvdisk fishing, managing them is a valid point. What works for all parties is having most event pokemon at a good level, regarding the process of the game (eg 15-20 lvls lower than the next Gym). Keep the best ones at really low levels to keep the balance. Weavile is probably going to fall under the 2nd category. When receiving Sneasel, I expect it to be around lvl 25
  12. Hail, Icy Wind, and Glaciate should terminate the field and turn it to a Hailstorm (perhaps). The same goes for Sandstorm, to just terminate it. Also +1 on the thought, that pokemon with sniper shouldn't get reduced accuracy. The following moves never miss: Thunder, Blizzard, Hurricane Any stat reducing moves will always fail.
  13. Why not liven up "Deal or no Deal" by putting a nail bomb in one of the boxes?

  14. Perhaps if we have them on Saturdays, people from more timezones would be able to join.
  15. If I remember correctly, the only pokemon we receive at a level higher than 50 is Absol, and that doesn't evolve. Naturally the event pokemon we receive at high levels, which do not have the egg moves we would like, are going to be bred or put in the pc. This can be solved as stated before. Sticking with the Absol example, one could instantly begin grinding and raising it to levels where it suffices to beat the current opponent. The same occured with the Heatmor event in Pyrrhus Pyrrhon the fire mountain in Apophyll. In general, the event pokemon are in good levels to receive, and as stated before, raising their levels is easy at any point in the game, as there are given methods you can use, no matter how much you've proceeded. The same occurs for EV training as well. The issue on the usage of event pokemon resides on Reborn's difficulty levels. Certain monsters are more capable of dealing with specific threats, and a bit of scouting verifies that assumption. Hence, event pokemon received at an earlier level, sometimes a tad lower than the user's party, are to be used in order to overcome the current obstacle. The game is against giving you the chore of going back to grind with rediculously low level pokemon as your opponents and take this procedure to last ages, by having a scale. Each new area has higher threats to deal with, and as such, better spots for level-ups. In the end, all that matters whether a pokemon is used or not are two factors: a. How fond the player is to the pokemon. This is the less verifiable of the two, not due to dishonesty, but due to the range it has, as evidenced by the numerous threads on "the worst", "the best you didn't know you had" etc. This is solved by having the event pokemon at a proper level, which is neither too low, nor too high. b. How good the pokemon is in general. Giving away OU threats that perform well in-game without the reliance on TMs or breeding-chains is both encouraged, as they also belong to the previous category and actually help the player perform better against the increasing difficulty, and also skeptical, in the essence that it should not be immediately ready to dish out huge amounts of damage. Example gratia, receiving the Beldum at 1lvl is perfect, because it urges you to work for your prize and raise it up if you want to use it. Something similar is supposed to happen with the Marill line if I am not mistaken, and I am perfectly fine with it. Moving along with this train of thought, if Goomy was to be given as an event, it would not matter if it was handed away at a higher level, or had a similar case with Beldum. Find it, catch it, raise it, use it. Not too time-consuming, but it still needs effort. Therefore, taking the way pokemon games work in general under consideration, receiving a bit higher leveled pokemon depends on the pokemon itself and makes little sense for the best of them to be overpowered from stage one.
  16. Caught an Audino for the trade and then I notice it has almost perfect IVs in every stat. Off I go to the Day-Care, even if I'm never going to use it.

  17. It would be nice thinking that, but after Huk's wall of text, I doubt people read any answers (at least before they already voted) guilty
  18. 1. I answered A. In case you want to use it, you'd better level it up. It's not hard. Since you already have higher level pokemon, all you basically need to do is EV train something, while your new pokemon holds the exp share (so you EV train it as you go). Reaching the 50s is easy this way. Then you go to the Routes and you get a nicely done pokemon. The time period between episodes is when it's the best time to do so. Even if you don't want to wait, you can afford a day or two to grinding. It doesn't go against the Reborn spirit. For example, I trained a Donphan to beat Charlotte back in ep13. (only a few levels but still). You can raise some or most of the event pokemon levels if you have to balance things a bit (like Joltix, Sableye, Gastly and Piplup) but not too much. Having an already evolved pokemon doesn't feel like you've accomplished anything, plus such handouts rarely make sense. 2. Final answer is D. When I know of an event, I usually already have an empty slot in my party (to abuse F12 and get good IVs), so egg moves are a bonus I would gladly accept. If you're doing it for completionist reasons, you do not get the egg moves, still can get the pokemon, and everyone is happy. People will understand as soon as they see that some pokemon have better moves than others. I suggest we implement this only after the first two or three gyms, because having a Whishmur with Boomburst from level one hardly makes sense (Reborn is supposed to be hard, remember?). I'm definite such things are out of the question, but it needs to be said. Also, I do not know which pokemon are better suited for such changes. In my opinion the starters shouldn't. Things like Murkrow getting Brave Bird, or Azurill Aqua Jet should definitely be there.

  20. According to Bulbapedia, 5 is the maximum you can inherit. When using the combo of destiny knot and power item, destiny knot works for 4 stats, the 5th being the power item's stat.
  21. Well, that would be low marks for synchronicity, but high marks for execution. Clean shot to the head, back was off the board, pool full of blood... Magnificent!
