On N: Unique is not the same as good, that's the epitome of how I feel about him. It's good that Pokemon tried something different, but there was just way too much focus on that singular aspect of his person and it wasn't really developed so much as repeated a bunch. I do appreciate that he comes back in BW2.

It's funny that you should mention Silver, because I sort wanted to bring him up in my initial response. I think he does sympathetic antagonist way better than N.

@Abyssreaper99 the ex-Plasma sage in Driftveil is Rood. Gorm also appears in BW2 in a postgame event in Pinwheel Forest, though. IIRC he was reprimanding a few grunts that were still doing Team Plasma stuff. He also asked Cheren what happened to his glasses, but then was like "nevermind, that's not important". 

fair points and I agree that Unique, just like iconic, isn't always good. and I personally don't see Silver as an Antagonist at all, he's more an Antihero turns Protagonist (if we have any real Antagonist rival, it's the only one that can make Mario look like Mr. Character Development, Blue).
