Are you referencing what I think you're referencing?

I'm not quite sure what to say. Pokémon Reborn favors the prepared. Everyone else hasn't had much trouble with Ciel because they've caught and trained Pokémon from the pre-Agate areas in anticipation of future challenges. I'm surprised to hear that your Alakazam doesn't outspeed Archeops, though. You said it has 31 Speed IVs and max Speed EVs, but does it have a Speed-boosting nature?

I'd like to weigh in on this! Personally, I wouldn't mind (heck, I'd prefer it) if you decided to finish all of the animations in one go. However, it's important to be mindful of the development time. If you spend too much time without an update to show for it, a good chunk of players begin to lose interest and wander away from the game, possibly never to return. ...Although I guess you're not making any money from the players in this case, which theoretically gives you less of an inclination to care about how bored a portion of the fanbase becomes. Besides, the loyalists and forumgoers will always stick by your side, and the eventual update won't fail to bring in new players.

Are we playing X-Men vs. Street Fighter now?
-
You're probably having trouble because you have almost no special attackers on your team. Steelix excels in one thing: physical defense. If your entire team consists of physical attackers, then it's no wonder why you think it's too hard.

Just a little nitpick: Florinia's name has a second "I" in it. It's not "Florina." Hehe, I like how Heather becomes one year younger every time you mention her age.

It doesn't matter who the Champion is. They're still going to lose.

Aw man, I've got to be at work in ten minutes. At least I'll have something to look forward to when I get back!

I wonder why Amaria didn't just use one of her Pokémon to make an Ice Beam bridge to the Oshawott.

Much more entertaining than shofu's playthrough by a long shot. Please don't ever stop, you wonderful person. (Dude that's actually a really nice view from your window) "Although now that I think about it what did Team Rocket have to do with Rockets? Or Plasma with plasma? Or Galactic with Galaxies? Cyrus wanted to change the world so that'd be planetary not galactic..." I dunno about the games or the anime, but in the manga, "Rocket" was an acronym for "Raid On the City, Knock Out, Evil Tusks." Plasma wanted to acquire Reshiram/Zekrom. They wield fire and electricity, respectively, which are both forms of plasma. Cyrus wanted to rewrite the parameters of the entire universe, which seems more than galactic to me.

Would it be plausible to turn Mega Evolution and PULSE mutation into two separate sets of code, with the only difference being the animations and HUD symbols? (Unless they're already two different sets of code? I dunno, I'm crazy inept when it comes to coding/scripting stuff.)
-
Eeeeee, these all look so cool! Is the Mega Evolution animation going to have the little Mega Evolution symbol in the middle of the swirling energy ball thingy? And if so, will the PULSE variant have a yet-to-be-designed PULSE symbol? I think it'd be pretty sweet for the PULSE machines to have their own logo.

I find it a hilarious twist of irony that Game Freak inadvertently made Reborn harder by no longer making TM moves breedable. It makes sense in that context, though, since TMs are now infinite anyways. But for those of us who want to give Thunderbolt or Ice Beam or Toxic to our Pokémon? We're SOL.

I think that we have a necromancer in our midst.

I think part of the reason why the "xe, xem, xyr" pronouns were created is because "they, them, their" is ambiguous in that it either can refer to a single non-binary person, or a group of people. An example: "I encountered Adrienn with a group of friends at the Department Store, and they greeted me warmly." Am I being greeted by Adrienn, Adrienn's group of friends, or both? THE WORLD WILL NEVER KNOW

This is true for every generation (with visual accompaniments for stat changes) except gen 3, where each stat was color-coded. Speed was blue, Defense was green, Attack was red, multiple stats at once was gray, etc.

Whoops, hehe. I thought they'd be under Held Items, so I just tunnel vision'd there. Thanks for the prompt answer!

Favorite Reborn soundtracks? Also a question about the artists
Foamy replied to Monochrome_Complex's topic in Reborn City
Hey, that puzzle was fun! I stepped into that room, gazing upon the goddamn OCEAN OF BOULDERS, then screencapped it and said "WTF IS THIS CRAP" Then I cleared it without any trouble. :B -
Hello? That's what the forum search function is for.

That's more or less exactly what I said.

This question has only been asked several dozen times since the end of May. The answers you've seen in this thread are the fruits of over two months' worth of discussion on the topic.

Guys, Masquerain knows that Shade gives out Shadow Claw now. There's no need to confirm it threefold. She was asking if the TM appears anywhere later in the game.

Okay, my speculation for the upcoming episode! Lin spearheads a full-scale assault on the Reborn League headquarters. The player fights - possibly alongside Amethyst, although not necessarily in a multi battle - to repel Meteor's forces, but they're steadily being overtaken. In a dire moment, Ame declares that "We WILL protect our city!" and gives the player the Mega Ring. My rationale is that if Ame were to give us the Mega Ring before the postgame, it would have to be through a very, very significant event. It needs to be important. It needs to be impactful. Mega Evolution is a big deal; one that can only be rivaled by a battle to decide the fate of Reborn City. Some potential counterpoints: 1. "But Ame has stated that her character isn't going to be plot-relevant!!1" The ambiguity of this statement means that it can be interpreted in a number of ways. Does that mean her character won't make any important, plot-altering actions or decisions? Does it mean that she simply won't get any significant screen time at all? In my proposed scenario, Ame isn't given any special relevance - it's being imposed upon her. Her office building is being attacked, and she's defending it. She's doing her job. So what other alternatives are there? Sculpt the storyline in such a way that Ame's character is never put into a position of action? Relegate her to the sidelines entirely, even though she serves an important function in the workings of Reborn City? Sounds like a great way to screw up a good story. 2. "But we won't get the Mega Ring until postgame!!1" Admittedly, this is a big potential strike. The only reason we wouldn't get Mega Evolution until after completing the game is because the game follows the actual Reborn League, where challengers were not permitted to use Mega Evolutions. I don't know if Ame has straight-up stated that the Mega Ring won't be obtainable until the postgame, but if someone can link me to a quote, then that would be much appreciated. As it currently stands, though, Mega Evolution wouldn't make much of an impact from a gameplay perspective. Right now, the players only have access to, what, four or five Mega Stones? Only a couple of those are actually good enough to incentivize players to jump through the necessary hoops to play them, and even then, they aren't overly powerful for a playthrough. Anyway, that's my crackpot hypothesis! Let's see some more theorycrafting, everyone! It wasn't a disease. She suffered from a mental illness and committed suicide.
