But the Tyranitar cracked some of her ribs which implies a blow to the torso Okay, this is a plausible, acceptable explanation. (Besides, the entire Pokémon franchise as a whole requires a good amount of suspension of disbelief, so it's not even that big of a deal if Amaria survives things that don't seem survivable.)
-
This is far and away my favorite answer. Tyranitar can level an entire mountain with a single swing of its arm. Now imagine if the energy required to destroy said mountain was concentrated directly toward a single human body... (Granted, this is based on Pokédex entries and thus doesn't hold much water, but SPEAKING OF WATER) Once you reach a certain speed (around 75 miles per hour), the water no longer serves a function in breaking your fall - contrariwise, the bodily damage caused by impacting water from a height of about 250 feet (or roughly four seconds of falling) will usually result in near-immediate death due to impact trauma. Assuming that the Celestinine Cascade is significantly taller than that, death is practically guaranteed.

It's just an Avatar: The Last Airbender reference. Let's not get too worked up here.

Conqueror of worlds - An ancient pokemon (hardcore) playthrough

It's the giant panoramic view of the Kalos war that appears in Pokémon X and Y, when AZ is telling his backstory about the ultimate weapon. Unless the mural is a historically inaccurate artist's rendition of the war, it's safe for us to conclude that all of the Pokémon depicted therein were present 3,000 years ago. -
Name up to 3 pokemons you're going to use to face Reborn's champion.

Blaziken, Blissey, and Cofagrigus! ha, like we're going to get magikarp before the elite four -
I think it might have been deleted by the mods that time? Personally, I believe that the guy raises some valid points. The story isn't really bad, but it has some areas where it could be improved upon.

Can you provide a link to a study with proof that the music is harmful? I've read that it only causes mild headaches.

...Are you giving people the option to completely skip over crucial, plot-relevant dialogue? I dunno if that's a good idea. (Although I'm guessing that this feature will mostly be used to skip huge chunks of text that occur before important battles, so you don't have to sit through the entire conversation again after each loss.)

I was actually going to address this exact point in my post, but I omitted it for length reasons. Also, I figured it was WAY too nitpicky of a detail to hold any merit.

Shade's exact words were, "Four screens foretold four souls' fortune forsaken, For, forsooth, from foreshadowed, only two will be taken." Why would he say that all four were foretold if Corey's already happened? Unless the fourth that is being foreshadowed is actually Titania? (or garchomp, hue) Sounds like we're just reading into the wording too much.

Ha! Truer words were never spoken. Speaking of which, I hope the event Pokémon in the city won't become inaccessible after the renovation (Zangoose, Zorua, etc.). That would make me sad.

In that dog analogy, the dog's name would just be "Dog." Perhaps "German Shepherd" or "Border Collie." Changing a pet's name from its species (or breed) to something unique isn't unusual at all.

Holy fuck, that Solaris fight was brutal. Is there anything even worth training up in your PC? Can't wait for season three!

Conqueror of worlds - An ancient pokemon (hardcore) playthrough
Foamy replied to Genesis's topic in Team Showcase
If you're going to use Pokémon from ancient times (like Floette-E and Aegislash), then you can use all the Pokémon that appear in this image. -
Hey, that actually got me thinking! Assuming that we DO fight Lin in the next episode, and assuming that it is indeed meant to be an "impossible" battle, it could create a rather drastic storyline split. If we lose the battle, Ame's character could give us the Mega Ring and say something like, "If we want to protect our city properly, then we'll need to utilize every resource we can get. Everyone needs to be in top form. Here, this Mega Ring should help you put up more of a fight next time." But if we win, we will continue through the game without receiving the Mega Ring, thus making the game (slightly) more difficult. We would still obtain it in a future episode, but we wouldn't get it until much later. (Kinda like that storyline split in Cave Story where you can obtain the prototype Booster right away and play for a regular ending, or skip over it to receive an upgraded Booster later in the game and get the best ending.) If Ame (the person, not the character) is feeling particularly sadistic, this purported storyline split will also include Mega Stones that can ONLY be obtained by choosing the path that makes you wait for the Mega Ring. "What's that, you want the Salamencite? Well TOO BAD, you should've beaten Lin back in Episode 16~!"

True. I'm personally not a fan of moving things around unless it's absolutely necessary, but this could also work. Perhaps, after we liberate Agate City, Nyu will call us up and say "Hihi, I found some nifty rocks in the woods~ Got any ice cream for trade?"

I'm not underestimating anything. Being a competitive battler, I know full well what Mega Pinsir is capable of. But again, I don't think that matters. Yes, Mega Pinsir is really good. No, that shouldn't deny us the potential to make bad Pokémon (Banette, Camerupt, Audino, etc.) better. It's okay to keep the Mega Ring from us for a more legitimate purpose, but to do so for such a narrow reason would be an example of poor game design. That's exactly the point I'm trying to make, so I dunno what we're arguing about. These Pokémon were so influential to the players' collective experience that they drastically decreased overall gameplay variance, which is why they were moved around or cut entirely. Mega Pinsir in Episode 16 won't have that effect, mainly because we're so far into the game. We're quickly approaching a point in the game where our options should be expanding, not remaining constricted. Let me clarify the argument that I'm trying to make here. It is twofold. It is my belief that, as the status quo in Pokémon Reborn currently stands, it is acceptable to grant players access to a Mega Ring for the purpose of turning underplayed Pokémon into more viable in-game options. The side effect to this is that, in doing so, we will also gain access to Mega Pinsir and Mega Heracross, which are two objectively powerful Megas. HOWEVER, I believe that this is an acceptable sacrifice from the perspective of a game designer. (Note: the following is only conjecture.) Furthermore, if we do receive a Mega Ring, it will most likely occur when "the heart of Reborn falls." I believe that Lin will spearhead a massive siege upon the Reborn League headquarters in the Opal Ward, where we will help Ame repel Team Meteor's forces. During a dire moment in the battle, Ame will deliver a cheesy, inspiring message to the tune of "We will not allow Reborn to fall. This is our city, and we WILL protect it!" before giving the player a Mega Ring.
-
Not really. Obtaining a Mega Ring doesn't make the game any easier, contrary to popular belief. At this point in the game, the Mega Ring only does two things: - It makes two good Pokémon (Heracross and Pinsir) better. - It makes two subpar Pokémon (Abomasnow and Banette) somewhat usable. The way that the Mega Stone distribution is currently constructed in the game, there is no other "element of difficulty" that is presented by a lack of a Mega Ring. Possessing the Mega Ring doesn't mean a thing if we don't have the necessary Mega Stones. That's like giving someone a gun without any bullets, except they can't even use the gun to pistol-whip someone. It's just there for decoration. What I mean by this is, if the Mega Stones that are currently available don't add much to our repertoire, then the game doesn't really become any easier for us. If we send out a Mega Banette and Adrienn sends out xyr Mega Gardevoir or something, we're still going to get decimated. Again, I feel like people are associating the Mega Ring itself with an overly easy gameplay experience, and I think it's a misnomer to follow such a line of thinking. There are currently, what, 47 Mega Stones? Of those 47, only 4 are available, and 2 of those belong to actual good Pokémon. Giving people Mega Heracross or Mega Pinsir after 15 Gyms when their teams are approaching Level 80 doesn't allow players to effortlessly breeze through the remainder of the game, nor does it skew the gameplay in such a significant way that the vast majority of players will add a Mega Pinsir/Heracross to their teams at the expense of other options. Getting Magikarp/Magby/Ralts before the first Gym? That heavily skews players' teambuilding. Mega Pinsir after the 15th Gym? Not so much. Furthermore, your last statement can also apply to many strong Pokémon that are currently available (and have been for a while). "I mean, who in the world would give you Metagross if they're trying to make the game hard?" "I mean, who in the world would give you Diggersby if they're trying to make the game hard?" Saying "_____ is good, therefore we have zero chance of obtaining it" is an example of thinking in absolutes. Just because something is good doesn't mean we won't get it before the Elite Four. To summarize: it would be perfectly okay for us to receive the Mega Ring in Episode 16, as long as we don't receive too many of the better Mega Stones. (Besides, what better time to be given a Mega Ring than while protecting the heart of a newly-renovated Reborn City?)
-
Right, I forgot. Mega Banette is so inconsequential that I don't even remember getting its Mega Stone. Yeah, I know that Mega Pinsir and Mega Heracross are good. But their Mega Stones are already in the game, which is why I mentioned them. Besides, we already have access to Pokémon like Metagross, Lucario, Rotom and Mamoswine. Including two good Megas and a plethora of bad ones is more than okay. See my response above. I fully acknowledged that Mega Pinsir and Mega Heracross are good, but that isn't a valid enough reason to deny us a Mega Ring. If we had also been given Mega Stones like Metagrossite, Kangaskhanite, and Mawilite, then it would be understandable to keep the Mega Ring from us.
-
Ame (the in-game character) might give us the Mega Ring in Episode 16, but that doesn't mean we're going to get Charizardite or Galladite. We'll probably get the stones for weaker Megas like Audinite, Cameruptite, and Banettite alongside the already-included Abomasite, Pinsirite, and Heracronite. "Hmm, a series of giant, ominous doors with the Reborn symbol on them that are located only in the most remote areas? I have a sneaking suspicion that they might hold something important behind them. Yes, I've figured it out. I'm a genius." But yeah, that's what we've all figured. Those doors wouldn't just be there for no reason. They have to serve an important purpose. To be honest, I would REALLY enjoy it if each door contained a puzzle or side quest to summon the Pokémon in question, rather than just having the Pokémon standing in the middle of the room, waiting for you to interact with it. It would be super boring to open each door and find a Legendary directly behind it, then immediately move onto the next one. No, each door needs to present its own unique challenge or trial to the player, so you can prove that you're worthy of merely being in the presence of these mighty creatures.

What, she's not capable of changing her Pokémon's nicknames?

If there were already animations for these moves that could be used in the game, then why wouldn't they already be implemented? A lot of the preexisting move animations were included with the Pokémon Essentials pack that was used as the foundation for the design of the game. However, Amethyst hasn't been very pleased with the lack of move animations, and has taken it upon herself to create a unique animation for each move. Unfortunately, creating hundreds of animations with only a small team of developers takes a really, really long time. Because it's such a time-consuming process, Episode 16 won't be out for a while. Of course, all of this information is easily accessible in the Episode 16 development thread.

Well, thinking about it logically, why wouldn't more TMs be added to the game? That's like asking "Will there be more Pokémon added in the next episode?" The Reborn team isn't just going to permanently omit a bunch of stuff from the finished version of the game. On a side note, if your Greninja is underperforming due to a lack of decent TMs, then it might be a good idea to train up a suitable temporary replacement. The limitations set within the game are meant to test your ingenuity; if something isn't working, then you must adapt your strategy. But to answer your primary question - Yes, all TMs will be included in the completed game. My apologies if this comes off as condescending; it isn't really meant to be so.

Yes. If my Beldum has like 4 IVs in Attack, it feels like wasted potential. And I believe that if I'm going to do something, I should do it well.
