  1. Dude....interesting stuff. *brb gotta find favorite sailing team* Also, Notus, Do you mind if you make this a Sailing only thread for now? It makes your OP less cluttered. Pretty broad topic if you were to ask me.
  2. Thank you, Hukuna. I really do appreciate it.
  3. We need to get Rose to visit this one, based on the Saints; fan option. : ] she specifically said something about paper bags...
  4. Please don't "banter" in stickied (pinned) threads. These threads are stickied because the discussion there is to be meaningful year-round, and is not designed for inevitible trash. Please direct your smack-talk to threads that are not pinned or the 'Buffalo Wild Wings' room on Showdown. Failure to comply may result in event staff escorting you out of the stadium. (along with some shiny new warning points.) Thank you all for your cooperation. [Other rules will be placed here in the near forseeable future]
  5. SPARKY YOU'RE A 'STROS FAN? LET'S BE FRIENDS!
  6. We do have a place called the Trainers' Journal, but Dobby actually is referring to ACTUAL Journals. It can go both places.
  7. Another work in progress thread. Hi, folks. As you all probably know there are several different forms of literature. Just like the roleplaying sub-forum, I ask that you identify what type of literature are trying to write in the title by using "tags". It would be helpful to determine the type of work, and the genre, yes? Tags are where you announce those in the thread title. For example, Creative Writing topics usually have the imfamous [CW] before the name of the thread. [CW] - Creative writing - Fiction works. (If you're going for Novels, Poems, Haikus, Jokes, etc, you can specify by making your take [CW: Joke] or whatever.) [News] - A news column. [Journal] - A personal place to lay down one's experiences. I would appreciate any readers to refrain from posting in journals -here-, as they could also be placed under the forum known as the 'Trainer's Journal.' In a writing forum, I would encourage reading other threads and asking permission to post, unless it's granted in the first post by the original poster. [Essay] [Lyrics] [NF] - Non Fiction major works (Basically, dissertations or multiple page essays require multiple posts. [Review] - A "review". This is a conflicting type of literature could easily fall under content suited for other forums. In order for it to be fit for -this- forum, you must structure it so that it is thorough and contribute a substantial amount of information to it. [Critique] - An opinion thread. This one -again- is suspect to being suited for other forums, and you would need to make a logical argument worthy of falling on a professor's desk for a grade in order to justify putting it here instead. (All a moderator would really need to see is effort) [Draft/Plan/WP] - The preparation stage of the Writing Process - You -may- use this forum for your offline affairs, and if you use this tag, you tell users that they may critique your work. I want this to be useful and offer a place for essay help, since I know a lot of us are still having to write them for other parts of our lives. [Feedback] - This denotes the thread in which feedback for the author is given. It usually accompanies a partner CW or other type of thread. The purpose of it being to keep the main Thread clean for the reader and so that the Writer's Thread updates automatically when adding a new chapter. [Other] Keep in mind that I am taking suggestions for more tags for a while. If you think of other types of literature, call em out on this forum and I'll make additions! Examples of Thread tags: From you friendly Local Sensei; Hukuna. [CW: Short Story] : Denotes a thread being used for a short story purpose. This is where the writer will be writing a reoccurring ((or updating.)) a story. Other types of literature or CW ((such as Novel length or poems, jokes, etc...)) will be placed where Short Story is in the tag like so [CW: Novel] [CW: Type of Work/Feedback]: if Feedback is written here this mean the writer will not be updating the thread or doesn't mind feedback coming in through the same thread. ((this can be done by the writer only updating the Main Post to update, that is totally up to the writer.)) [Feedback]: For simple Feedback purposes. Writer's should include a link to the actual story thread in here. [Feedback/WP] : this is to denote something someone wants feedback on for their story, but also wishes to have people know it is a heavy work in progress. That means feedback will more or less be taken into account or that community members can help the writer along in their writing process. It also let's reader know a LOT is subject to change with a work. If there are other tags you would like me to make examples of, just shoot me a pm or something. Most other tags don't need heavy explanation though. Hukuna Sensei out~

  9. Hi folks. Title speaks for itself. [WIP thread] - Lemons.** We don't your stinkin' lemons (That's like......'50 Shades of Gross'.....except possibly written by amatuers, which makes it worse. (If you like to write lemons, there are other sites for it where you can refer users to your work if they have established interest beforehand. Some people may take offense or probably shouldn't see such content here on a pokemon forum. )) - Political or Social "opinions" that are not in Newsletter format (...which means, it -does- have to be news! We have a Political Soapbox forum elsewhere for other stuff.) - Anything other forums cover. [basically, if it's not in an actual literary format (such as a news column, it shouldn't be in -this- forum.)] - Disrepectful content torwards potential -or- specific members of this community...or in general. Respect people. - Let's not go for beyond the macabre** (beyond jump scare or psychological types of fear appeal) here. Again, there's some people who may appreciate seeing it -here-. Friendly reminder that things will be a work in progress...as this is a shiny new forum. I -am- happy to take further suggestions on things that should be considered bad to put here. Yes, Aces, You do have -another- place on this forum for your mature content.**
  10. Hmm....what kind of curveball can I throw at you, friend. -any type of team- Most contain Gardevoir -and- M-Gallade. As high of a viable tier as OU. Thanks for the kind offer. (This doesn't have to be any kinds of "competitive" whatsoever. I just wanted to see what you could do with bare minimal suggestion. Fun for you, surprise for me. )
  11. Mega Gallade. If I were ever interested in having children, you can in the line for possible fathers.

  12. I personally would go with Victreebel because I like offense.
  13. I don't know what that option even means Nick, but it -will- be discussed.
  14. Again. I could look it over, regardless of collaboration with Huk and Murdoc or on my own. It's something I have a general idea of how I -could- structure and get off the ground fairly quickly.
  15. Yeah, I would hope "tagging" your work would stick around in the IW forum as well, seeing as there's going to be various types of works there.
  16. I wouldn't know what to look for, but assuming it does get created we can take a look at getting you guys a U-Haul.
  17. I have a feeling I can tackle IW and at least nurture the Sports forum.
  18. As far as I see it, a sub-forum needs to have a group of people that are willing to contribute regardless of popularity levels, and it needs to be kept tidy. - For instance, I have a feeling the sports forum would draw more attention during international events, such as the World Cup (which was stifled under ten feet of miscellanious threads in the wasteland) or the Olympics, but if there are just enough people who casually step outside of their own boundaries, you can find something that a particular individual would be interested in (such as American College Fooball, which is something I would contribute regularly to.) - Also using the sports forum as an example, You could have seasonal "stickys" depending on the year, which means the "casual" forum user would be able to see 'priority' threads when they are in season. As opposed to the IW forum, the Sports forum would be -very- easy to moderate and keep clean. Call it mild campaigning, but if you don't build them, they won't come. End of story. A great example of a 'popular' forum would be the Roleplaying forum. Today, it's hard to imagine how that would be popular at all if it wasn't as popular to begin with, but it had to start somewhere. It also has a great team of auths that keep the place in order in Huk and Murdoc. Another sub-forum that is run well is 'Gaming General'. It may have been popular immediately, but part of it's success is due to the real enthusiasts, such as Wolf, who invest in the sub-forum as a whole. People notice effort, and sometimes, that causes enough curiousity to justify checking a sub-forum out.
  19. Huk. That's kinda the point of this poll. Testing the waters.
  20. *votes yes for both polls* At least at the time of this post, Reborn's feeling athletic.
