Yes, I do believe in God. Specifically, I am a Christ-follower, meaning I believe in the triune God that is the Father (Yahweh; God.), His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. All three in one, one in three. --- I hold belief in Jesus is entirely faith based, but if you want "commandments" there are only two of them that are deemed most important. "Love the Lord your God, and love others as yourself." - I hold that loving God means being aware of our sinful nature and making a concerted effort to atone - and that loving others means being quick to be self-less and instead try to help humanity prosper, while making others aware of the reality that is our sin so that they too can fight against it. I hold that all interactions must be between God and the believer, meaning things like forced conversion and coercing Christ are ineffective so much as simply going out and following Jesus' request to make disciples through exalting the good news of our undeserved forgiveness. Ultimately - the "guideline" if you will is simply believe. --- I believe the true meaning of "Religion" is best applicable to what is usually the second meaning of the word found in most reputable dictionaries, being a SYSTEM of faith and worship. - and my opinion of the Christian "religion" varies depending on the area. In America for example, the Christian "religion" is FAR from ideal - whereas over seas in unfriendly areas such as Vietnam believers - even under watchful eye of their government - have it down perfectly. It should be noted in this section that I don't worship religion. I worship Jesus Christ. --- The is no problem with having a singular God so long as you are following Him (and if you are NOT following Him than the issue would be that you are not agreeable with Him.) The larger issue than lack of agreement is posited in other two scenarios. In the instances where there is no God or there are many Gods everything is subjective to individual taste. While this may sound like a nice and fluffy thing to have in some arenas, one cannot justifiably have a justice system in place if the rules are subjective and the defendant can hold that according to his subjectivity he wasn't breaking the law. Also, multiple Gods tend to grapple for power and control in the lives of their followers and lead to contradictions. Contradictory faith and subjectivity are the biggest looming issues in non/polytheistic scenarios. You have to know WHAT you believe in -AND- know it to be consistent to the world around you. --- I see myself as one of God's vessels, which would be lower on the totem pole than God Himself. The cool thing though, is that He came down to my level and died so that one day I could ascend as He did regardless of current positioning. No other religion advocates this model. --- With Christianity, the cornerstone of ANYONE's faith is the real-life historicity of the Resurrection. If you can definitively prove Jesus didn't rise from the dead, you prove Christians are fools. "And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain." - Paul, 1st Corinthians 15:14

I think I'll go ahead and divulge that some of them are being moved to more suitable forums. You should just look around the site to where they've been moved. --- On to the topic at hand: As much as I like Diggersby's typing a lot more, Azumarill has more uses and a decent HP stat. Breaking this down - Diggersby is allowed to function as a revenge killer and a wallbreaker. Azumarill is allowed to function as a Choice Banded attacker, a bulky attacker with the Assault Vest, AND a sweeper with Belly Drum. On top of having more roles it can fill, Azumarill is much more apt to take priority attacks than Diggersby. Like before we break it down. Azumarill is weak to Bullet Punch Diggersby is weak to Mach Punch, Ice Shard, and Azumarill's own Aqua Jet. It also doesn't resist Sucker Punch as well as Azumarill does.

Hello friend. Welcome to Reborn! I'm Hilda, one of the many moderators around these parts. If you haven't read our community rules yet, make sure you do so - those can be found just under your avatar on the menu found on the left-hand side of these forums. If you are interested in competitive battling, why not do as Gore suggested and check out the showdown server? That is found above the search bar (which is the bar ABOVE your avatar on the left-hand minute. The one below is your status bar.) If you are interested in roleplaying, look for the resident sensei Hukuna. He'll tell you everything you would need to do so. Again, do enjoy your stay, and we're happy to have you.

I simply don't have time to train my eyes to multitask when I'm really not multitasking at all. If I was multitasking, I would want it to be dubbed even more so I can hear the dialogue when I'm not viewing the screen.
-
Gonna have to go team dub, but I'm a casual anime viewer. When watching subs, I find myself getting tunnel vision and reading the subs and missing everything on the screen. When you're watching something - you aren't doing so for pure dialogue.

I wouldn't be worried about will-o-wisp users, as you have Fletchinder and Camerupt to negate them, as well as Jellicent to soak them up. My biggest concern is why you are concerned about Pelipper and Mantine in RU. The latter is somewhat understandable in regards of running Rock Slide due to it's noteworthy special defense > but Pelipper would take an equal amount of damage from Ancient Power > which is also boosted by Sheer Force and plays off of Camerupt's superior attacking stat. If it works > okay....but in cases versus Pelipper you're better off using Ancient Power and I don't feel Mantine is too much of a threat to be running Physical offense in this meta game. I may be a little out of the game though.

Your personality type is: Logician (INTP-A) INTP Strengths Great Analysts and Abstract Thinkers – People with the INTP personality type view the world as a big, complex machine, and recognize that as with any machine, all parts are interrelated. INTPs excel in analyzing these connections, seeing how seemingly unrelated factors tie in with each other in ways that bewilder most other personality types. Imaginative and Original – These connections are the product of an unrelenting imagination – INTPs' ideas may seem counter-intuitive at a glance, and may never even see the light of day, but they will always prove remarkable innovations. Open-Minded – INTPs couldn't make these connections if they thought they knew it all – they are highly receptive to alternate theories, so long as they're supported by logic and facts. In more subjective matters like social norms and traditions, INTPs are usually fairly liberal, with a "none of my business" sort of attitude – peoples' ideas are what matter. Enthusiastic – When a new idea piques their interest, INTPs can be very enthusiastic – they are a reserved personality type, but if another person shares an interest, they can be downright excited about discussing it. More likely though, the only outward evidence of this enthusiasm will be INTPs' silent pacing or their staring into the distance. Objective – INTPs' analysis, creativity and open-mindedness aren't the tools of some quest for ideology or emotional validation. Rather, it's as though people with the INTP personality type are a conduit for the truths around them, so far as they can be expressed, and they are proud of this role as theoretical mediator. Honest and Straightforward – To know one thing and say another would be terribly disingenuous – INTPs don't often go around intentionally hurting feelings, but they believe that the truth is the most important factor, and they expect that to be appreciated and reciprocated. INTP Weaknesses Very Private and Withdrawn – While INTPs' intellectualism yields many insights into their surroundings, their surroundings are ironically considered an intrusion on their thoughts. This is especially true with people – INTPs are quite shy in social settings. More complicated situations such as parties exacerbate this, but even close friends struggle to get into INTPs' hearts and minds. Insensitive – Oftentimes INTP personalities get so caught up in their logic that they forget any kind of emotional consideration – they dismiss subjectivity as irrational and tradition as an attempt to bar much-needed progress. Purely emotional situations are often utterly puzzling to INTPs, and their lack of timely sympathy can easily offend. Absent-minded – When INTPs' interest is captured, their absence goes beyond social matters to include the rest of the physical world. INTPs become forgetful, missing even the obvious if it's unrelated to their current infatuation, and they can even forget their own health, skipping meals and sleep as they muse. Condescending – Attempts at connecting with others are often worse than INTPs' withdrawal. People with the INTP personality type take pride in their knowledge and rationale, and enjoy sharing their ideas, but in trying to explain how they got from A to B to Z, they can get frustrated, sometimes simplifying things to the point of insult as they struggle to gauge their conversation partners' perspective. The ultimate insult comes as INTPs give up with a dismissive "never mind". Loathe Rules and Guidelines – These social struggles are partly a product of INTPs' desire to bypass the rules, of social conduct and otherwise. While this attitude helps INTPs' strength of unconventional creativity, it also causes them to reinvent the wheel constantly and to shun security in favor of autonomy in ways that can compromise both. Second-Guess Themselves – INTPs remain so open to new information that they often never commit to a decision at all. This applies to their own skills as well – INTP personalities know that as they practice, they improve, and any work they do is second-best to what they could do. Unable to settle for this, INTPs sometimes delay their output indefinitely with constant revisions, sometimes even quitting before they ever begin. See, I'm an open-minded conservative Christian.....who is logic based person over an emotional one. I KNEW IT WAS POSSIBLE.

Okay, so I was screwing around with the Teambuilder again because for some reason I've gotten the itch to try and get better at it. I dunno if I made any progress or not, but whatever. Find a way to use Chesnaught offensively in OverUsed Use a Mega people probably forgot existed Try to build for coverage against the voices in my head yelling to just use Pokemon I like HERE WE GO. ----- 1. Pick a 'mon to build around - Chesnaught - Chesnaught is my favorite Pokemon. I decided to run the really wacky Belly Drum set on Smogon's OU listings for it. Chesnaught was BLESSED in ORAS with great Tutor moves like Drain Punch (which will replace the Sitrus Berry Azumarill usually boasts) and with the help of the Salac Berry and Substitute, Chesnaught reaches max attack power and is able to outspeed things....like....Latios somehowsometimes........weird - but I LIKE IT. 2. Pick a core - FWG - The next thing I wanted to get out of the way was a tight bond between Chesnaught, a Fire type Mega, and a standard OU water type. I decided that 1 - Chesnaught needed a slow turner, and 2 - to use Mega Houndoom as a Special Attack Sweeper/Utility Attacker. Mega Houndoom is an often forgotten Pokemon and isn't very keen due to the Stealth Rocks weakness and Fairies galore in the current meta - but with Nasty Plot it just needs one turn to set up if it gets the opportunity and in games it would sturrgle in it would at least provide more burn support along with Rotom-Wash. This core consists of a physically bulky pair and a good synergy with Mega Houndoom as any Psychic type attacks aimed at Chesnaught will be nulled - and any Water type attacks aimed 'Doom will be soaked up by Chesnaught in return. Rotom manages against Azumarill - leaving the only threat from the Fairy type coming from the Special side of the board... 3. Shore up weakness - Special Fairies - I decided to go with defensive normal Scizor here - although the only really wonky thing about my team is that I have two defoggers. I don't know what I could swap out Defog for between either Scizor or Latios - so there's where you guys can help me. 4. Hazard Control - Landorus-Therian / Latios - I decided to go with Offensive Non-Choice Landorus-T and Latios to take care of my hazards. Between the four OU Pokemon on my team, the goal is to just chip away at the opposing team for the other two to finish the job. Rotom and Landorus-T form a VoltTurn core with each other and could use those moves to bring in Chesnaught or Houndoom after getting off chip damage. Latios runs Surf to deal with opposing Ground and Rock types for Mega Houndoom as well as Fire types for Chesnaught. ----- Chesnaught and Mega Houndoom - Sweepers Rotom-Wash and Scizor - Defensive Walls Latios - Hazard controller and Special Attacker Landorus-Therian - Stealth Rock setter Rotom and Landrous - Volt-Turn companions Houndoom and Rotom - Burn Spreading Have at it.... and watch this to get a kick out of how bad I am at Pokemon. :] http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-264867574

Wow! Thanks Skitty, Ody, and Yagomi! I'll experiement with those changes. The only thing I'm really not fond of is getting rid of a beloved Pokemon in Tangrowth for easily one of the most despised Pokemon in Jirachi - so I may have to get over my pride to make that change - but I didn't actually even know...the Wise Glasses even existed. Seems like what Id like to go with. My mental block there is 'If Leaf Storm is going to boost my special attack anyway, why would I need something that only works for grass type moves? - the Glasses will make a great replacement for the Expert Belt for my intents and purposes.
-
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-264815318 I don't always use Belly Drum..............But when I do, I make sure I'm using it on the best Pokemon of all time.
-
Chesnaught used Seed Bomb! It's not very effective... The opposing Latios lost 100% of its health! The opposing Latios fainted!

> Belly Drum, Substitute, Drain Punch, Seed Bomb.
SALAC BERRY and likely not a fully speed invested Latios.

Maybe it was a more SpA oriented latios, and the guy gave it more defense investment rather than speed.
A belly drum chesnaught wasn't factored, probably.

I've seen Mega Alakazam run Focus Blast. If that's the case - Ttar outright loses and Sand Rush Excadrill has to outspeed it. I've liked Stone Edge on Ttar because I have two grass type Pokemon and flying types are a concern. If you read my RMT completely through, you would see that I have Serperior in this team to act as a special sweeper and not an outright wallbreaker. I was only noting that it can used as such when in need. I want ALL of Serperior's moves to score KOs and after a Leaf Storm boost (which is generally what Serperior will go for when it forces a switch) - as I'll often see something like Ferrothorn or Scizor come in to check it and I want my HP Fire to get the job done. Same thing with slower Dragon types. I get my boost from Leaf Storm - and then get another boost from Dragon Pulse. I like to play aggressively with Serperior, meaning Giga Drain is only on my move-set if I absolutely know I need to get HP back. The great thing about this team is I can dance around walls like Mega Venusaur. Residual damage and burns will open the way for Excadrill to finish the job - possibly without having to SD. On top of that, SD once and Venusaur isn't much of a threat in return.

No teambuilding process here. I just had a few of things I wanted to try out. Mega Altaria Sand Rush Excadrill a couple of beloved RU threats in OU Here we go. ---- Mega Altaria in this team serves as a Special Attacker and is genuinely not very expected. With it's stats after mega-evolution, it's able to be run somewhat mixed, meaning I can use it to take out more than just physical walls if I need to with Earthquake - which threatens defensive Heatran without going to Excadrill earlier than preferred. Fire Blast takes out other steel types. It acts as a bit of a pivot and a lure - as Earthquake allows other trainers to think it's a physical variant if the move sees early use. Everyone knows what Tyranitar wants to do when paired with Excadrill. Tyranitar serves as a bulkier pokemon and most importantly the sand-setter for Sand Rush. It carries Pursuit to trap opposing Psychic and Ghost types not carrying Focus Blast - and is my stealth rock setter in this unit. Ice Beam provides pressure against Gliscor and Landorus-T it may be matched up against. Excadrill serves as my physical sweeper on this team. The sand set's 'em up, and Excadrill knocks 'em down. It also is in great synergy with Mega-Altaria as any poison type moves aimed at it will be made null by Excadrill's steel typing - and any Fighting type attacks will be cushioned by Altaria. Altaria's surprising Special Attacking ability and Serperior's Special prowess clear the way of any Physical walls the Drill may run into. On the other hand, Serperior is my team's special sweeper. Serperior can be employed at almost any time of the match thanks to it's ability Contrary - granted it's threats are out of the way. Because of this, Serperior sees a lot of time doing Mega Altaria's job - depending on the types of physical walls the opponent is bringing. Serperior packs an Expert Belt over Life Orb due to possibly having to perform in the sand and needing to work as a wallbreaker as opposed to a sweeper. Tangrowth is in the team to provide defensive presence to the team. There's not a really good reason why it's here, other than I wanted to use it. AV 'Growth means it can wall the field amply so long as it's still holding it's vest. This 'mon provides Knock Off support and further resistance against Flying/Ground duals and Dragons. and finally - Cofagrigus - the one-mon answer for several looming threats thanks to it's ability Mummy. Got a problem with Mega Lopunny? Scrappy gets negated upon contact and allows Cofagrigus to COMPLETELY wall it. Mega Metagross upon contact looses it's 30% boost to it's contact moves from Tough Claws. Huge Power Azumarill becomes the Azumarill that has absolutely NO business in OU after contact. Mummy is a FANTASTIC ability to use if you just need to shut down some of the more painstaking abilities physical attackers use. Very underrated Pokemon too - as Hex WoW can nearly KO MegaGross as well. ---- So there you have it. The goal is simply to try and build as balanced a team as possible based on using a 'Mon I was interested in and a concept I liked. I almost NEVER build for coverage - so I'll leave the team bashing to you guys. I promise you - the team is better than it looks like on paper. Have fun.

1. Mothers, as they hold the ability to lactate and give birth, are much more suited for motherhood than a male would be due to lacking those two functions. Faster reaction times and bigger frames indicate that men are better served for combat - even in instances involving weapons. 2. I'd argue that society is actually focusing on empowering women today - this may be a cultural gap we're experiencing - but soceity has become the most egalitarian it has ever been. Professional women's athletics is steadily increasing the payrolls of it's athletes. Women are being entitled to equal pay and the right to end an unwanted life for the sake of their bodies. Women are running for the highest offices in the land. My country's most successful national athletic team is it's Women's soccer team. - I wasn't advocating a contradiction here - I was alluding to your connection to men and women's interest being imposed by gender roles in the traditional hetero couple as being non-existent and instead advocating that men and women are interested in those things as a part of their own personal interest. Meaning - gender roles have nothing to do with liking athletics or shopping as opposed to the individuals specific tastes. 3. Stereotypes SELL. Another stereotype of males is that they will buy things off of sexual desire - Sex Sells. Popeye's Chicken knows that if they can put a black person on television and have her speak in Ebonics that their commercials will attract black people. - On top of this - You may not even watch enough television - as things like they Olympics and Women's World Cup and Women's athletics in general ARE broadcasted without completely pandering to men like the Lingerie Football League does. I'd argue that statistics show upholding stereotypes is something the groups involved will support from their own these days. See: Black Entertainment Television, Sports' Illustrated's "Body Edition" (which is essentially nudes of the most popular athletes out there - male AND female.), E!, etc. Just because stereotypes are being upheld doesn't mean there's a conforming to gender roles taking place behind the controls. 4. That post came after yours anyway.
-
I wouldn't use open-minded, intelligent, or progressive as appropriate terms there, and I'm a woman. Take the multiple studies over decades that stretch into today. I won't argue the "mental" side of the spectrum, but not everything is truly "mind-over-matter." Studies show that men generally have faster reaction times than women do. (remember, this is based on decades worth of studies.) - and it doesn't take long to notice that men and women are built differently. That doesn't make the genders unequal and it doesn't mean one gender can't do what the other cant vise versa, and even all inclusive - but there is no myth that biologically - men and women are different and as such different attributes trend greater or less than the other gender accordingly. You'll have to forgive my interjection into your regularly scheduled programming, but as a complementarian myself, I don't think gender roles are as large of a looming issue so much as personal gratification is in that scenario. The male seeks his own personal pleasure in athletics and alcohol. As a woman I happen to enjoy athletics and alcohol. People don't watch sports and drink because it's a "boys or girls only" social club. They do it because it's personally gratifying. Women and shopping? That's just a stereotypical hobby. There are men who also enjoy going to the mall. None of those things in that scenario have anything to do with roles so much as they are largely stereotypical attributes. Stereotypes are in most cases offensive - and an often determined personal choice to uphold or abolish. Not merely gender conformity. Taking it back to the topic - I'll posit that gender roles are not biologically antiquated - and should only be held in consideration if your personal belief system calls for it. The real issue is selfish living and negligence.

Everyone gets the idea of love completely wrong. - Men, you guys have a variety of different innate wants and desires. Some of you out there are arrogant and want the finest piece of ass you can find for bragging rights and end up objectifying those you catch - and not only does it come across as pig-headed - most of the time it DOESNT. WORK. Eventually, you find out that the flame dies, and neither of you are open enough to continue the relationship. The other side of the spectrum for dudes is that they are either completely desperate or completely hopeless. Some of the other guys out here may lock themselves in their rooms and not even talk to the girls out there - and it's a shame because being a hermit leaves a lot a good girls without a lot of good guys. - Women, it's already been pointed out that there's something about the "bad boy" that's alluring. Some of us are into the sex just as much as "men" seem to be and make those poor judgements in quality. Some of us hurt ourselves and like the men who hide in their bedrooms also withdraw to our shells. We're NO DIFFERENT than they are - and we come with the added drama of being better at letting our feelings go on average better than they do - the fount of "drama". Notice a pattern here? Everyone wants the sex. Everyone hides. Everyone wants to put their arm around the arm of their prize. and yet, NOBODY -really- dates for the reason they should. Biologically, we're scouting out potential mates. Socially, we're looking for lifelong partners. Hilda's argument for faulty relationships being related to ill intent - the Weiss' Argument For Continuence. --- If a couple are dating for selfish, fleeting, carnal, or non-existential reasons, the relationship is faulty. People are dating for selfish, fleeting, carnal, or non-existential reasons. Therefore, the relationships said people have are faulty Therefore, the relationships will fail. --- My advice, in specifics to the original poster, is to lower your expectations and re-assess what you are looking for. Please do not fall into society's trap of dating for the hell of it. Look for people that have a genuine potential to grow old and DIE with you - and still look smoking hot while doing it. Patience is key.

I can't blame Erick at all for his stance on the matter. The fact of the matter is that Malcolm X was just as influential in the civil-rights movement as MLK was. The notion of Black Supremacy is equally as strong as White supremacy - except that it's a lot less bloody and much more of a "positive" movement founded on self defense as opposed to being oppressive. The Liberals - and their sway in Hollywood and in the sports scene - can influence these types of African Americans in this way very easily. Nonviolence? Blacks and Whites are all humans? The earlier years of Malcolm X's life were spent preaching QUITE the opposite. And depending on how you look at it, it's riots like those in Ferguson that indicate that Whites have NOT done blacks enough justice in order to warrant fluffy words like "colorblindness". It's also indicative that the older issue of "white supremacy" is very much still a thing. This is where Carson will have to be the next incarnation of Martin Luther King - because the opposition will realize that Republicans are content with equality, and the blacks that feel like the world is owed to them for past oppression will make quite the voter base in response. The thing is - so long as we're still dealing with a hundreds-of-years old issue going the other way, Blacks are allowed to have that entitlement no contest. White people will need to at the very least admit that their ancestors were wrong and that issues are still there. I personally agree with Neo on Carson - He'll need to do better as a representative of Black America in order to shift support from the liberals. I don't agree that he needs to be militant -or- like Malcolm X in ideology, but I do agree that he needs to be more vocal, and passionate, and bear the standard rather than being passive and appealing to white voters with words of integration.
-
That's like me saying if you're not a woman, you should just not talk about abortion because it doesn't pertain to you. Yet - no, we're allowed to let all of our candidates debate about that. I tried to message you but it would seem like your message box is completely full or locked or something - but as a forced aside. Do you think I'm wrong - or only that my position is out of place because I'm not black? I don't think I did anything out of line personally. I didn't break the "don't use the n-word if you ain't black" rule. I didn't make a statement vilifying blacks in any way, and as I am talking about a presidential candidate in the country WE BOTH live in - I don't think you can say that I'm not entitled to discuss potential roadblocks for that candidate. P.S. If I had to vote for president today, Carson would be the guy I vote for.
