YOU KNOW The only thing that's better than having a summer birthday is having one late in the college football season when your Dad can take you to some of the area's biggest contests in relation to the national polls (My favorite birthday memory myself is jumping to "Jump Around" whenever Oklahoma knocked off a Number 2 ranked Texas Tech team in Norman by a LANDSLIDE, catapulting them over a 1-loss Texas team (to Tech) that beat the Sooners into the National Title game.) All the same, you can't pick the date. --- Mike, I'm really glad I can call you my friend, my partner-in-crime, my h@ office-mate, my Boomer, my Five Guys date, and that you think my breath smells nice. <3 Happy 23rd, young'un.

Fairy. ...Although, not as much as before. 1. Dragon did need a nerf, but this could have come by making ICE a better type, reworking how hail works to make it more viable than boosting Blizzard's accuracy, and by providing a type (perhaps Fairy) that wasn't so overpowered in it's own right. Fire should do more than mutual damage, and Steel and Poison types by and large are composed of support and defensive Pokemon. It's HARD to fight Fairies with offensive play styles at times. 2. The biggest stars are Klefki (annoyer), Sylveon (bulky cleric), Florges (bulky cleric), Clefable (Bulky Calm Mind setter), and Azumarill (Belly Drum Champion.) making AV Azumarill the best fairy for someone like me. Unfortunately. Azumarill is OU. Too much defense!!

1. Grass - The most outright disrespected type in the game in -my- opinion. This is a recent development, but I just found me a favorite Eeveelution and I never cared about the Eevee line before using Leafeon. It's still home to my favorite 'mon (Chesnaught) and favorite move (Leaf Blade) - so there is really no contest. -the Celedon gym is GREAT. ITS FULL OF WOMEN- 2. Fighting Fighting has been for a significant while my favorite type. Despite Grass usurping it recently, there's no love lost. There's a Punch move that threatens every mon in the game. 3. Rock Rock is a type that is recently making waves for me. Probably because I've been forced to play my DS to supplement my pokemon cravings and on Y, the only pokemon I had in the box aside from team members and legendaries were fossil mons I apparently wasted time hunting for earlier.

I noticeably drop off in win ability (if that makes any sense whatsoever) after the 20th turn. If I want to win matches, my best shot is to run through my opponent as quickly as possible. Thus, I tend to hold a likening for offensive play styles. I -want- to master balance though. If I don't care about winning, I like to mess with weird game mechanics, like Drain moves, Harvest, etc.

As a proponent of capitalism, I'm not going to be one that is blinded to the evils of it. Unfortunately, there is always going to be a lust and thirst to be something greater than the ones around them. Be it that wealth does turn a man into a monster, I do have to admit that capitalism allows for a man to work his way up. That's an ideal that should be preserved above enforcing that everyone be the same. With regards to firearms, there's no denying the evils of allowing your citizens to bear them, but the premise this country allowed those firearms to be owned on is still relevant. The firearm industry in the United States exists to arm citizens against the possibility of a corrupt government. The Second Amendment allows the citizens the ability to defend their right to decide the direction of their country. Rather than being in place so that men could hunt for food, or even to defend their families, the premise of owning a firearm is based upon the precedents set by the Colonial Militia. Guns are used to defend the country's way of life. It is theoretically possible for citizens to revolt against their established government and their military even today - while the odds may be not in their favor. The horror of the matter in this case is, people own guns under the belief that their targets are other people. Arguably something "wrong" with the country. Arguably a necessity in the defense of "Freedom." On the contrary to people having wealth being the issue, the thing that is wrong with this country is that people can become wealthy without genuine effort. We're not dealing with established "old-money" alone either. Some of our highest-paid occupations are those of athletes, actors, and musicians. Mind you, it's still the freedom they have to accumulate wealth just like those jobs that merit higher pay-grades and it's a by-product of the so-called "American Dream", where one could do what they want to be happy. - Hedonism is a philosophy that praised over true community. - Material wealth can be the lifeblood of a man if he so lets it. - Our enemies are often those around us - at least hypothetically.

First off, ....Big dreams, small stature Twenty fo' years, watching chilluns an' pastors wonderin' where my heart is, to pasture, but the way I feel, it's a natural disaster. Years pass, wrinkles show, still no Masters No money, no food, not even a Bachelors Throwin' stones so hard, one can call me a spellcaster Trouble-town raised, yet ya' girl ain't changed, Brown hair, brown eyes, and somehow still stayed, Got no record of my own, but the label's still made, and I don't even have to say, what I've seen played. ....and I'm done. I hope some of that was actually...decent. Haha.

I've become so good at offending people, I do it without even trying these days.

Don't let losses get to you Vince. As a host, I can safely tell you that for most competitors this -IS- the preparation. Just keep grinding it out and don't forget to have fun. The moment you start making it a job and not a game is the moment you've lost.

Mega-Lucario - I think if we're talking about "dreams" - we want to be capable trainers who instead of sitting behind a screen using a PokeSim and "math" to teambuild we would actually have a "bond" with our Pokemon. Lore-wise, that's exactly the power it would take to be able to activate the keystone and Mega-Stone. A capable trainer has that bond. From there, it would be with a Pokemon you could rely on and through my dabbling in competitive play, I've realized that Mega Lucario is actually very stout in comparison to the legends it contends with in Ubers. I would want to be strong enough to challenge any legendary, and I would want a non-legendary Pokemon to be strong enough to do so as well. Hence, Lucario is my ace. Gardevoir - the Emotion Pokemon is a great reminder that Pokemon are our "partners" and not tools. It's often speculated that Gardevoir is capable of communicating in nearly-human-to-human mannerisms in some of the fanfiction I've read (NO, NOT THAT KIND OF FANFICTION....YA NASTIES...) In a dream Pokemon journey, I would want to be able to communicate effectively with my Pokemon as they are also my travel buddies. Aegislash - It's a WEAPON. Despite being an inanimate object made animate Pokemon, it has a reasoning behind it due to it's ghost typing unlike Magnezone, Electrode, or Slurpuff. I've changed my tone about Aegis competitively. I do feel like it may be an Ubers pokemon after all. It's certainly capable. It also reminds me of the countless hours I've spent dreaming about RuneScape. Krookodile - Krookodile ain't got time for dat. The epitomy of "strong" Pokemon. Especially in a dream. Also a badass. Crobat - Crobat's speed makes it one of my favorite things to use in any situation. It's poison typing further assists my ability to deal with annoying-ass Fairy type Pokemon, and this thing was one of my first PokeAccomplishments. I didn't know I was going to get Crobat when using Zubat in Gold - but I did. And it's a friggen good 'mon. Druddigon - My tier has always been RarelyUsed, and properly bred and trained, there's a lot Druddigon brings to the table. There are lot of other Pokemon I like and would have used if more - namely my boy Chesnaught who is my favorite Pokemon of all time. I just came up with this one on the spot based on recent experiences.

The point of this thread when I made was just to see what everyone in the community has seen in their day-to-day lives. Not everyone is an American and thus not everyone is going to have the same problems with how their country or it's governing bodies operate. This isn't a rally for change because quite frankly some things are going to be disagreed with by...a MAJORITY of you and it would be ineffective here. Politically, I am actually a "Moderate" (which means in some communities I either look somewhat Liberal to very Conservative depending on others' point of view.) Liberal Ideas I can get behind: - Changing the American Justice System in a manner that treats ALL citizens as innocent until proven guilty AND in a majority of our smaller cases, human beings who are trying to rejoin society when they are released from incarceration. The death penalty, if it has to exist at all, is something I am a huge advocate in minimizing nationwide. Furthermore, we need to invest the tax dollars we DO pay to criminals into their long-term return to the outside - instead of merely keeping them in years worth of time-out and sending them without any hope back into the streets where they will inevitably be re-arrested. Conservatives far too often side with the victims, while Liberals focus their efforts elsewhere, but hold the defendant in higher esteem. - Sparing the student in as many education costs as possible so that a college education is more accessible. It -shouldn't- be a business. - Making food cheaper or more available to those in need without requiring them to apply for government programs. (I.e. working with farmers and businesses to provide for those who have less and compensating them in return in the form of taxpayer dollars we get back from no longer needing to pay students thousands of dollars for an education. - Managing the Military budget so that instead of laying off soldiers who do important jobs, we aren't investing in as many pointless endeavors using their deserved earnings. (not a fully Liberal pursuit, because the other goal I would have here is to keep the military as large as possible.) Conservative Ideas on this list: - Rectifying the usage of the word "Tolerance" - It's a Liberal buzzword that is often blown to a proportion where we're talking about tolerating a National Security issue in the future. There are things that as Americans, we should indeed live and let live, but not everything. (On the flip side, Conservative thinkers need to -also- think about some of the things that don't apply to them at all and have no risk of ever doing so.) - The only place the defendant gets an "equal" shot at justice in America is if that defendant is "Famous" or rich, (and, yea Neo, of a lighter complexion. That is definitely the case and it's definitely wrong.). I -do- believe in things like influencing the "entertainment industries" to add additional consequences to any high-profile defendant. We shouldn't be encouraging the idea of ballplayers or actresses getting off with crime scot-free. (The case is different with high-profile "religious" figures, such as Tim Tebow or Christian book authors. Many folks on both sides of the political spectrum cry for those figures to be (pun intended) crucified, and it often damages their reputation for a good long while. People also need to know that everyone sins, and as such, we can forgive our brothers and sisters too.) - The "Indoctrination" argument. Many Liberals rally behind the buzz-term "open-mind" too. Due to being the group who's party is the party-in-power as of late, they get the dishonor of being the culprits on this list today - but right-wingers are guilty of this as well under a similar circumstance. I don't care if your university claims it's a liberal arts university. If you can't present an argument (only using this for example purposes) to your Atheist professor and expect to pass based on the work you put in making the argument due to the instructor's bias ALONE. You are -not- getting a liberal arts education. This goes to the extent of only one form of creation (Evolution/Big Bang) being taught in science courses instead of all possible options (as Evolution and the Big Bang are just well substantiated theories.) in the public school system. Indoctrination is a problem because if you choose to teach people - especially our children - of one viewpoint. You are denying them the right to make their own decisions about the world around them. All of that to say, there's problems with the country all over the spectrum and all over the demographic and due to being in the middle of the spectrum, I can see all of the flaws for what they are. I guess I'm a bit prideful in that, but it means nothing unless people -do- make efforts to solve all of the problems on my list.
-
Things Wrong With America - It's possible to own an Escalade, an iPhone, high-speed internet, a two-story home, multiple pairs of shoes or lingerie, and still be eligible for food stamps. - If you don't have the same views on something as the instructor, even if you have logical reasoning and all the work you would need to have on the page, you're at risk to fail. - Those in poverty tend to weigh more than those with wealth. - The Tale of Two People and Tolerance - One has no tolerance for things that don't hurt that person at all, and the other promotes tolerance for everything. - Celebrities are either impervious or frail in the public arena, depending on who or what they associate with. - It's not Freedom unless you can take it away from someone else. - To be a "Rebel" is to be a conformist. - The worst crime of the land? Not murder. Not rape. Not theft. Not embezzlement. - Offending someone. - Criminals may as well not be citizens - but taxpayers still pay for them. (The American Justice System in general.) - Education is a business industry.

I -do- like the side-quests content wise. Extra lore and interaction with NPCs that you find just by talking to them are very good things. I just don't think that a Pokemon should be the reward 99 percent of the time. In Reborn, where the region is supposed to be barren, it makes sense story-wise to have all of those side-quests due to the region only now recovering from years of near-apocalyptic decay. It -does- provide the stigma that you need to "Side-Quest-2-Win" - which shouldn't be the case because it's a "side-quest" and not a main plotline, but at least there's a narrative behind it. Not my favorite mechanic in Reborn, but it's far from the least favorite due to being salvaged by common sense and lore. I think Reborn's gym battles are ideal - keeping the Potion-spam tendency over having things like Choice Scarf, Eviolite, or Berry Juice in Julia's case. .......That wouldn't be fun. In my opinion - the challenge, especially in the earlier gyms, should be presented by the Pokemon's synergy and any strategical motiff the team may be built around - such as Boomburst > Self-Destruct, or being a Sand team. There's also original game mechanics, like Field Effects, in fan games that could potentially be there. To me, if a Gym Leader is potting up, it gives off the impression that they want to win as badly as I do.

Sorry Se7enites, Hukuna giving the RCBA selection comittee hugs first. <3

Props for battling RIGHT ON SUNDAY though! It's alright. Nobody needs to be undefeated in this event anyway. You just gotta be better than everyone else. I didn't get my first PRCL win until I beat Jericho on a Monday (which was the start of the week in that event.) Which is kinda relevant for Sparky in this case too I guess. Sometimes you just "have it" and if you can get your opponent to play before they're ready early-week magic can occur.

Hello all! This week marks the last week of the first month of the season. After three, we have some developments! Ruby Deadpool currently holds a half game advantage over fellow undefeated contender Pyrrhon. Both of the competitors have had a smooth ride avoiding any kind of status or hax against them - although both have been endowed by bye weeks. 99 Losses and Fruitdealer, having dropped one division match so far, also trail behind Deadpool a half game back. Comittee-member Swimming95 sits in the middle of the pack at a 1-1 split with a bye. Pixl and ShinyMeganium are behind the curve with one win and two losses, with Meganium suffering a tiny bit with Paralysis this season. Hobo21 will continue to chase the first "W" from the cellar. From the Clipboard: Pixl has missed the most attacks in the Ruby Division this season, with a whopping 4 wasted turns so far. Leader Deadpool has on average of 4 'Mons standing rounded up, while Hobo21 will be looking to avoid staring at 5 opposing Pokemon left ready to fight for his opponents on average if he hopes to get the dubb. The first way to avoid falling behind, competitors, is to show up to compete! Sapphire With only a game and a half separating the top of the leader board from the bottom of the barrel, Sapphire is the closest divisional race at this point in the season. AuthorReborn is the only undefeated Blue in the field, thanks to two "W's" and a seemingly well timed early Bye. Trevo, Moony, and Jelly are half a game behind the leader with two dubbs and an "L". PWB and Kookies are tied near the back of the scrum with a 1 - 1 split, trailed closely by a 1 - 2 Sparky, who has endured some horrible luck to start. From the Clipboard: How bad has the hose been for Sparky? He's the division leader in taking critical hits with 5, and has flinched 3 times, along with 1 burn and 1 bout of confusion. Status has been tough on him. Moony has been put to sleep twice, burned twice, and has taken 4 critical hits, yet has found a way to stay on top of the curve at 2 and 1. Amethyst The Amethyst Division on the other hand looks very top heavy by comparison, based on the numbers, with MMM and Mikzal both currently undefeated AND tied in average remaining Pokemon with 3 (Hold on, ya'll tell me when those two fight, I'ma go mark that match on my calender....).... Rupe and Imperial are behind the leader duo by a full game at 2-1 a piece, and then we see Wash, Vince, The Phoenix, and Xiri still searching to get a win on the board at 0 - 2, back two and a half games. All four have had one bye week so far. From the Clipboard: Rupe has managed to stay on top of the curve despite missing 5 attacks, taking 5 critical hits, flinching 4 times, being poisoned twice, and failing to move while paralyzed twice. Those numbers have contributed to closer matches on average as well, as he only has around 2 'mon left standing. Emerald Dark Desire is the only remaining undefeated Green on the board with an average of three Pokemon remaining -and- more than one match played. Vlado Vladimir, despite the one loss, is ahead of Void due to games played at 2-1 as opposed to 1-0. Vlado, Void, and Azery are behind DD by a game. Dobby has an even split after two, followed Sir Bagel (1-2) and the cellerdweller Mumpelfink (0-3) From the Clipboard: In Void's one match, no status or hax has been used against him. Poll Positions: Deadpool, AuthorReborn, Dark Desire, Play-In Match between Mikzal and MMM Hilda's projected Title match at this point: AuthorReborn vs. Dark Desire **PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT PROJECTIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE EVERY WEEK, and are JUST BASED ON CURRENT RANKINGS** #UpsetWeek #OOOREWARDS

I could just make everything more and more expensive as the journey goes along and -then- enforce the pay-cuts. I would do my very best to make sure it wasn't Grind2Win. The big issue with grinding being your best solution in most cases - is that you use a lot of consumables. Other rough ideas. Pokemon above the level cap cannot use a Pokemon Center to heal up - forcing consumables to be used. Pokemon above the level cap can't learn new moves, including Technical Machines and Hidden Machines. A Pokemon may not evolve by any evolution method so long as they are above the level cap.
-
now a HARD cap is another solution I didn't think about. If you weren't PUNISHED for "maxing" a Pokemon by going "overboard" like in Reborn, but unable to grind above the cap, it prevents the player from getting too overpowered while rendering the need for backwards rare candies and caution unnecessary. Reborn kinda operates on a soft cap - where the Pokemon can go over the cap, but it stops listening to you even if it's not a traded Pokemon, making using it ineffective. I personally would only use this in effect with the LAST available gym leader to prevent experience farming during the time the next episode is in development.
-
I personally would stop experience gain from any sources (trainers or Pokemon) if it were possible. I think that harsh prize-money cuts coupled with barred experience gain still benefits players who prefer choice over forced problem solving. As a player, having choice is something I personally value in Pokemon games > so I wouldn't subject other players to playing the game on "my" terms if there's a way they can play on their own. Especially if you could still catch new Pokemon and especially-especially if you would battle/re-battle trainers and get no experience - but earn money, I would still be able to find reasonable amounts of game time after the end of an episode. If that scenario wasn't possible, I would prefer the cap to preserve the integrity of my future releases - but if it can be helped like the situation above, I would be inclined in my own game to put experience on hold. I absolutely don't think the cap is "unfair" and it's only bothersome from a preference perspective and not really a "holy crap this makes the game hard" perspective. --- I'll still play Se7en with or without the cap - and with whatever you folks decide to roll with. I was just posting this thread for discussion sake.
-
I can definitely see a cap being necessary due to the way the game is released. ...if only there were some way to stop the player from gaining experience after they reached the end of the available upload.
-
Attention other Forum Moderators: I wasn't sure if this thread was more suited for the Pokemon Fan Club or the Fan-Game Expo. Please move this thread accordingly. Thanks! - <3 HW Hey guys. As I was taking a shower today I had the wonderful urge to play Reborn...yet again. (There's probably a gazillion threads of mine with the same opening sentence.....Geez....) and I got to thinking about what makes Reborn enjoyable for me and what makes me want to pull my hair out. We've all been there with this particular game that brings us all together, and if you're still here, either you like some of these folks a whole lot, or you think the "Pros" Reborn brings to the table greatly outweigh the "Cons." I -then- decided I wanted to think of a list of things -I- would aim for if -I- were a lead developer for a Pokemon fan-game. For those of you on budding projects, such as the gang working on Se7en, some of my ideas (and those that others come up with and share because they disagree with me!) could be something you factor into the game-play aspect of your project. For those with some degree of fleshed out product (Ame, Jan, etc.) you can consider the ideas in this thread for future endeavors or rewrites after-the-fact. WARNING: Many of my points will contain what may be considered negative feedback on Reborn, as it will be the game I use as a basis for familiarity with most readers. Let it be known that I -LOVE- Reborn. The game is the reason I showed up to this community in the first place, and I've gained so much from it, including friends and opportunities nobody else would give me. I'm eternally in Ame's debt. - That being said, this list is 100% my "opinion" - and as such won't be agreeable with anyone, even the game developers, throughout. In fact, I'm not very agreeable with Ame most of the time, but it's okay because she still loves me anyway. <3 Also, if you are in process of playing the game, there -may- be spoilers ahead that I won't spoiler-tag for the sake of continuation and clarity. Read at your own risk. 10. Redemption for Hidden Machines and Emphasis on Exploration. It's a pretty popular opinion that NOBODY likes Hidden Machines - in MOST Pokemon titles, main-series or not. Hidden Machines serve an exploration purpose, giving the player the sense of clearing an obstacle in order to progress, effectively making him or her a trailblazer along the way. However, traveling the world of Pokemon has a distinctly linear feel, which limits the ability Trainers have to actually value the HMs as valuable moves. They are not nearly as effective in battle, and in most games cannot be conventionally removed from a 'mons moveset. However, this can be greatly changed if there was less of an emphasis on linear travel. Imagine playing through the entire storyline and beating the Champion, only to find out you only visited roughly HALF of the region you now reign supreme over. To see perhaps the best implementation of HM usage, look at X/Y - games that focused more on HMs being beneficiary exploration tools and less mindless obstacle clearing moves. Cut, Surf, Waterfall, Rock Smash, and Strength were used more to obtain things like TMs and battle items such as Leftovers, and were for the most part completely optional. Expanding on this to make whole AREAS of the map, perhaps hidden towns and villages, Pokemon you wouldn't find on the standard routes, accessible would arguably redeem the Hidden Machine, and if implemented correctly, wouldn't be so essential for completing the story if you choose to play straight through. 9. Either a more difficult experience -OR- Toggle-able difficulty. Reborn's bell-cow experience is that it's HARD in comparison to the main-series titles. I do feel like that's almost an essential part of the fan-game build-up however. If you as a developer are not willing to push the envelope here, then at least try to make a mechanic akin to Black/White where there was a "Hard Mode" version of the game. There's a lot of nitpicky ways developers -should- go about installing and preserving difficulty in their games, some of which Reborn does miss the mark on in my opinion, but if the game is harder than the usual product, it's probably more memorable than the usual product. And that's -always- a good thing....unless it's too hard for some reason. 8. Networking Capability I don't know how many of you guys have read of Kurotsune's recent endeavor, but in the future it may be possible to battle and trade with friends through Reborn. Fan games are prone to being very lacking in post game content, so the ability to battle and trade really does expand the game in a great way. It's still really innovative and I'm not making any promises, but stuff like this is AMAZING and will really provide incentive for pressing on - especially if the fan game is free and you have access to the internet. 7. AVOID Level Caps. I understand the argument for implementing this mechanic- but I don't think players like this mechanic so much as they like the effect it has on the game's boss-battles, and thus I do believe another solution is possible. The problem level caps pose is that they force the player's hand depending on the difficulty level of the game and other variables, and in a Role-Playing-Game like Pokemon where the player is rewarded with nearly infinite choice, forcing a certain strategy isn't always the best mechanic. While avoiding the criticism of being "grind-heavy" is good by enforcing players not have the level advantage over the NPCs, it limits the players' choice and can really be the bane of pure autonomy-centered players who would rather do things their own way over drawing inside the lines. Of course, I -DO- understand how level caps uphold difficulty, but there are other ways to be anti-grind than outright capping. My suggestion here involves the players MONEY returns. If a player grinds -past- a suggested stopping level and uses the Pokemon in battle or has it on his or her team, the player is rewarded with less MONEY than he or she would normally receive. Things like that make suggestions to stop and try to use strategy and defend the game's difficulty overall because money is an essential part of a player's run, while ALSO not stomping on the player's ability to make his or her own decisions. 6. Pokemon should be distributed to reward exploration in ALL senses, not just in Side-questing! When placing Pokemon, it's very easy for fan games to emphasize a certain method of unlocking the better 'mons to use. Reborn has a strong beckoning toward side-quests and that's an executive decision. Perfectly okay, but not how -I- would do it if I were in Ame's shoes. Think back to the days when you found a Pokemon by complete accident just because you were looking around an area for fun. For me, that Pokemon was Chansey in the Kanto Safari Zone. Assuming HMs unlock a lot more map like in suggestion 10, many of the better mons can be hunted for as they are in main-series games - by complete luck - and the way Pokemon are discovered can be more homely and less dependent on talking to every single NPC in the game. The call isn't to remove side-questing in favor of more good 'mons in the tall grass, but to make it so that your community doesn't tell you that all of the quest mons are the keys to winning the game. Even distribution is key as it allows all of the enjoyable experiences of a main-series Pokemon game to be had, while also allowing for new experiences. 5. Appeal to Completionists For a Pokemon title, this is pretty simple. Fan games should always have all Pokemon available upon completion, the day must be saved, and the player should always be the Pokemon League champion at the very end of the journey. However, if you add more mechanics, such as achievements like those in Gen 5, as well as side-quests that don't give Pokemon rewards, those should be listed in some sort of clean interface so that players can try to complete the game 100%. Catch 'Em All. 4. The evil organization needs to have NPCs that make you question your position -and- "Judas Iscariot" figures. The shock value and effectiveness the antagonists will posess rests solely on it's personalities. Being betrayed registers as a memorable and effective aspect of games like Reborn, while topics that make the player question his or her perception of the events that are transpiring or their own morality to an extent (Again, Black and White) leave lasting impressions, at least for me, on the game as a whole. 3. The background of the entire journey has to be SENSIBLE. At the risk of hurting the fantasy element of the franchise, the ideal fan game has to have a storyline the player can comprehend before it can make any appeals to the player at all. Evil organizations need reasonable motives. The story moments need to add gravity to the play-through. Some alliances with NPCs need to be supplementary to the situation at hand and not out of the blue all of the time. Cohesiveness wins the day when dealing with story elements, and in order to be cohesive, the story has to be able to make sense. 2. Steer clear of power creep Mega-Evolution may be the advent of a very bad time in Pokemon. For now, it's not so bad and even makes a lot of Pokemon considerable when they normally wouldn't be - but it's mechanics like this that bring players out of touch with the game. 1. Don't fix what isn't broken. The game is a fan game - it has to resemble the games in the main series and have a familiar feel to them in they way they are played.
-
Fink, thank you. I appreciate you being the kind taxidermist. I'm gonna hang all of these 8-point bucks over my fireplace.

The thing about Ferrothorn is that nothing is going to take it down cleanly and it will serve very dilligently as a status wall and something that will be able to rack up lots of chip damage on opponents. I can see it not being as good as it is competitively in game - but for people that like to employ strategy (and in Reborn you better to an extent) Ferrothorn is able to possibly slow down a few things that might trouble you in the future. Not a good option against Charlotte though. Everyone has a motivation to win in some sense - even if you don't even play Reborn. There's a juicy possibly net winnings of 11,100 rupees on the line. Think of all the generous or terrible things you could do with all of that money. If you DO play Reborn, a perfect, shiny Ditto will give you a great chance to get your hands on the perfect team in the long run. Without cheating.
-
Yeah, it would be a little better if everyone that won the Pokemon rewards played Reborn - but in the end, that's still pretty much all of our donor's funds (the 9.6K if we were to leave the amount to 600 a pop + the RIT champion) -AND- possibly being responsible for coding the Pokemon into the winners' save files. In the future, this could be something that's on the table when we have more funds to deal with and if we want to rack up the prizes each go around. For now though, we should be generous in return to the Dev team and take what they've given us.
