  1. Nick, the issue with that is that there are going to be....somewhere around 16 competitors in the championship tournament. That means that our whole bracket getting reborn rupees would get run up to 9600 Rupees on a generous giver - when the original plan for this maiden voyage season was to just crown a champ and applaud everyone for competing. Let's say that everyone of the winners listed ALSO opts/has to accept the Rupee reward. The whole tournament bracket would get 600 rupees - which adds up to 9600 rupees. The Grand Champion would receive 8000 rupees on top of that 9.6 > making our total 17.6K rupees The RIT Champion would receive 25 hundred by default which would make Kuro have to cough up 20.1K and the Division champions would rack up a 10K total by themselves > making the needed coffers for this season AT LEAST.... 30,100 rupees. That is nearly triple the current amount of our donator's available funds. Division winners would be huge winners in the scenario too, getting 3,100 rupees instead of 25 hundred. The Grand Champion would get even more, racking up a 11,100 amount of winnings > a vast majority of Kuro's current Rupee count at this moment in time. --- So, here's the deal. If you're one of the top 16, your reward is a SHOT at a perfect IV Ditto in-game or some pretty nice change, while also being able to call yourself one of the top 16 best trainers in the competition. We feel that this is pretty rewarding in itself - while also promoting more competition and less "oh, I got what I wanted, I don't have to try" in the actual tournament.
  2. So I heard...that like........Radomus is Anna and Noel's FATHER...like OMGOODNESS how cray is that. There's this one rumor, that like....Dan wears dresses. There's also THIS OTHER rumor...that like....there's a BUSTY LAPRAS around these parts. Like how weird right? Lapras doesn't have boobs that doesn't make any sense.
  3. If Pokemon has taught me ANYTHING, parents SUCK.
  4. Hilda is....actually my name. It's etymology however is actually something I take pride in - It's a shorthand for various forms of 'hild' (i.e Brunhild, Gunhild, etc.) Hild = "Battle"
  5. Division Champion Ensures the highest seeds in the tournament bracket - If you win a champion seed - your walk through the championship tournament should be the easiest of all the tourney competitors. Will win the Talonflame, Ferrothorn, Aegislash, or Cloyster depending on division for use in Reborn. Has the opportunity to swap out the Pokemon reward for a 2.5k rupee reward (for those who don't play the Reborn game.) "The" Champion Is the best trainer in the competition > determined by surviving the championship tournament to the very end. Will receive the Ditto (or 8K rupees) In the event the tourney Champion is ALSO a division champion, they will receive the Ditto/8K as well as the Pokemon/Rupee reward from being the Champion of their respective division. The Reborn Invitational Tournament (RIT) Champion is the best trainer to -NOT- make the championship tournament > determined by surviving the Invitational to the very end. will receive a 2.5K rupee reward. will be rewarded with MORE high-end competition experience in the form of extra matches can overcome what may have been a poor regular season record.
  6. Stop right there, Sunshines... I'm actually a little bit concerned some of our esteemed regulars are claiming this game isn't meant for casual players? Isn't that hardly inviting and respectful to those of us who -do- play the game casually? I'm not going to argue that Reborn hasn't been even more difficult than it is now, nor am I going to say it's a game that is just as easy to have a casual experience with as any main series title. It -obviously- isn't - but this isn't the way to treat each other, regardless of the way their forum posts are worded and regardless of whether or not the original poster searched through the archives for help beforehand. the honest truth of the matter is - most casuals won't really -know- what to expect, and most casuals -won't- have world-beater teams and fancy ability or move-slot tricks just to get by bosses they truly don't know are coming. Most of us have been there, where we find a roadblock to our playthroughs and have to think of a strategy to progress. For some of us, they do go looking for the tricks to save money and items - for others, people splurge so they can use their original teams and move forward. Everyone has a different approach to the game, and while some approaches are vastly superior to others in terms of effectiveness, that doesn't mean the game can't be played casually. The difficulty of a game doesn't determine the amount of time someone is going to spend to progress completely. Ultimately, what separates the "professionals" (or more appropriate term, hardcore gamers), from the casual gamers is the amount of time they spend playing the game, and the amount of effort they are willing to spend to progress. If people drop Reborn on their own because they don't want to go hunt down a Prankster-mon - that's their choice. We don't need to persuade the casual gamer to leave as a community by being up-in-arms whenever they voice their struggles. It's best to offer advice, and move on. --- Addendum: Nobody really needs to start going on crusade for Ame either. She should know her game is a huge hit regardless of what some players say. I understand she -is- a target we, the players, have when it comes to frustrating parts of the game. What this person is experiencing is one of the many emotions felt when playing Reborn. As listed. There are several ways to control these fights and overcome RNG. It's just a part of the casual experience. The first thing casuals will do is wonder why something isn't as easy to beat as they are used to, and part of that will be followed by blaming someone other than themselves.
  7. Cheers to Nintendo and may Mr. Iwata be in peace. There aren't many in the video game industry who will leave a profound stamp on gamers hearts like this man has.
  8. Man, if I had known -this- was up for grabs, I would have competed myself. I think my division got the best pick of the lot. <3
  9. GET YOUR MATCHES IN, NOOBS <3 this message is approved by Ice Beam Gyarados
  10. Hitmonlee is a VERY scary Pokemon in RU. Scarf Reckless is one way to go about things - and the easiest way to deal with it is to get it locked into HJK on a Ghost type Pokemon - HOWEVER, Unburden Hitmonlee is particularly scary as well, especially if Liechi Berry or Normal Gem. Typhlosion is prone to getting it's Eruption damage lowered by priority attacks like Sucker Punch. If you're having a problem with Typhlosion -OR- Delphox for that matter, find something with Sucker Punch. This will also take care of offensive minded Mega-Banette - Utility MBannette will need to be played around Regular Meloetta ALSO doesn't like Sucker Punch - and a great check/counter for it is the seldom used Spiritomb - which carries the move. --- Don't let people tell you Glalie is only good for going boom. Not the case. Return is just fine - as Glalie is a fast Pokemon that will cause lots of damage even without being spent on the turn. --- Your team has a stark weakness to Fighting type attacks - and Durant's biggest use in RU was to counter fairy types that are no longer in the tier. Durant would be a good thing to swap out for Spiritomb - and Delphox outclasses Typhlosion imo.
  11. Even if if we do talk about APR and Hax stats, we obviously know that things like sacking Pokemon off and using status inflicting moves like Will-o, TWave, and Toxic are a part of the game are strategical options. Those stats are REALLY just for fun - especially when at this point, this is all we have to write home about.
  12. INKNONOININKNAGHBOA- Yes. I recorded everything backwards. Mike's gonna fix that post, and I'm gonna be 30 percent more awake when making the next newspost. This means the best competitor was Rupe.
  13. Caution - Vulgarity and adult topical humor
  14. Hello again! Week -2- is officially underway. I want to stress using the forums and PMing any opponents early in the week to set up matches. Mike worked very hard to ensure timezone issues wouldn't be too prevalent, but obviously a few people will slip through the cracks - so you all will need to be proactive! RUBY Fruitdealer and 99 Losses are practically neck-and-neck at the top of the division statistically. Fruitdealer had quite a bit of 'hax' assistance against ShinyMeganium, but that was the purpose of his team. Pixl's pokemon just needed glasses against 99 Losses missing FOUR attacks, who ironically has no losses and one win. SAPPHIRE After bodying Jelly, Moony holds a slight edge over fellow 1-0 competitor AuthorReborn statistically - with 6 Pokemon left standing as opposed to AR's 3. Both came out of their battles without much getting in their way RNG-wise. EMERALD We have a cluster of winners on top of the pile in the Emerald division. Void edges all of them out for the pole position with 5 'mons left serviceable. Vlado Vladimir was left with 4 remaining Pokemon, and won with literally zero hax againt him. Dark Desire had three pokes available, however this match may not have been as close as it appears with a bit of timely luck by Mumpelfink, it was still a good game. Sir_Bagel held on for a 1-0 win to bring up the back of the leader's pack, he lost his Charizard which could have done some serious damage to Sparky's team, but also got 3 flinches and 3 crits later on the game (All 3 flinches mattered, only 1 Crit did), all in all a very crazy match, and my pick for game of the week. AMETHYST Lil' Baby Rupe, Trevo, Mikzal, and MMM make up the cluster in a unique form of two ties - determining a tie for 1st and a tie for 3rd respectively due to the amount of remaining Pokemon. Rupe and Trevo didn't lose any partners in their respective matches - despite Rupe getting a lot of hax against him still managed to bodybag his opponent, Trevo received the 6-0 due to an opponent's no show. Mikzal had three Pokemon remaining and got off scotch free from hax, while tied competitor MMM had a bit of poor luck but still managed to pull out the W. Sapphire and Amethyst are currently boasting the first three tournament brackets at this point in time with ease - considering the record and insurmountable average margin of victory at this point. Statistically, the best-in-show trainer is Lil' Baby Rupe - getting a bodybag without too much statistical help -and- having to earn it via battling. Battle of the Week: Sparky vs Sir_Bagel Player of the Week: Lil Baby Rupe
  15. Well Tomas, the honest truth about Reborn is that it's not quite as dependent across the board on specific pokemon -and that the competition format is much different when Reborn competitions are running. For example, instead of climbing a ladder, you're fighting for a spot in a tournament, or wagering for tokens, or taking part in team efforts with other trainers, or following interested twists and limitations each and every week. My best advice would be - participate in Reborn events. They provide a different kind of feel than simply mindless laddering - and they don't necessarily need to be used with a cookie cutter team.

  17. If you aren't a SCRUB you use Oran Berries over Berry Juice... JS.... (Nice Guide, AR~)
  18. YES. STAR-KIN -IS- CUTER THAN ME. I AGREE.
  19. Hello all. We're currently nearing the middle of week 1, but do remember that each day you wait, the harder it may be to set up a time for you and your opponent to battle - so it's recommended that you send your pms on the forums and determine days and times to meet-up during the days PRIOR to Wednesday each week. This doesn't mean you can't actually -hold- your battle later in the week at all - but rather it gives both battlers a sense of how much time they have to prepare their teams as well as makes both battlers aware of when the match is in advance. IMPORTANT: Please remember that the week for battling ends on SATURDAY at 11:59 PM. Yes, it is different from PRCL and Nations. This is so the comittee get's the weekend-cap to look at the data and evaluate it before the work week comes back up on Monday. For those of you Americans out there - think College Football season - where College games are held on Saturdays to allow the NFL viewership on Sunday. The Early Birds this week hail from the Emerald Division. Having played 3 matches already this week. The Tortoises of the week hail from the Amethyst Division - with only ONE match played so far. Hopefully we see some top notch bouts from site's host-gem's ranks. Ruby and Sapphire have played two matches a piece. In just the short time we had - we got everything from a nailbiter to a bodybag. The 6-0 took place in the Sapphire division scrap between AO members Moony and jelly. - I'm not sure how much of a dog Jelly really was in this battle, but the margin of defeat surprised me. Emerald quite possibly hosted the best match of the season at this point - a 1-0 decision reached with some help from Lady Fate herself aided Sir_Bagel over Sparky. - We've all been there, putting our hopes on the powerful yet fickle Fighting type move known as Focus Blast. If this match speaks for the entire division - Huk, you might have the "Group of Death". Make sure you all get your battles in! These replays are very fun to watch, if nothing else. Hilda out
  20. nononononono - You see, to the believer, heresy -is- a bad thing and -is- the main reason churches don't go about this - aside from higher ups having their own not-very-Christ-like spells of lacking love for their fellow man regarding this topic. Eve was explicitly MADE to be helpful and a boon to Adam. Personality and compatibility are not questioned - especially the latter due to the fact. I wouldn't know about other societies, but the Judeo-Christian one has never taken same-sex couples in higher regard over heteros. The deal with Homosexuality not being intended is determined later on in the biblical timeline - where we see God's stance on the issue rather overbearingly in the razing of Sodom and Gomorrah. Logic would have it given all of the textual evidence, that God wouldn't destroy two cities if the chance of Homosexual couples being a part of the design existed. That just would seem like a bit -more- of an overreaction than it would look to secular parties. If God made a Steve for an Adam - would God raze their hometown the moment they find each other - if it was His intent? No, because then it wouldn't be an act against God in the first place. You actually brought up a rather interesting bit of information by bring up "fruitfulness" - in that it's quite possible that God may only be found in "fruitful" relationships - which means there -is- no chance for God to be in a relationship that would not have the possibility of bearing children, which would then mean that pastor would have to explain that to the couple. If you were to ask -me- personally, God is in every -person- whenever they accept Christ as their lord and savior. This means that there is quite the possibility that the entire "Christian" argument is debunked because accepting Christ into your heart as Lord would fill the God-shaped void for the individual and wouldn't need God in the union - Here we have an outdated covenant (the covenant with Adam - Go and be fruitful) clashing with the Messianic Covanent of Christ - a covenant very agreeable to Homosexual individuals. This is where the beliefs fall on the active minister - Even if the theology is exploitable, the government doesn't have a right to force him or her to conduct the ceremony unless they can explicitly prove the refusal of service was due a "hate crime" against homosexual people and would have to be -very- careful not ot violate the minister's rights granted under the 1st Amendment in doing so. There's a book that I'm going to recommend to you here Mael, because C.S. Lewis would do a better job explaining the distinction of "Love" than I would. It;s entitled "the Four Loves" These loves are known as Empathetic love, Friendly love, Romantic love, and "Agape" being unconditional divine love. The concept Christians have here is that not all love is the same. Because of this, it is possible to preach "Love" while not being an advocate for same-sex romantic relationships, because Romantic love is it's own - in a group of others.
  21. Genesis - through the Adam and Eve narrative, which is why the obnoxious Christians out there compose their arguments as "It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." The argument however has nothing to do about sexual intercourse or the purpose of it -being- one man and one woman biblically - it's just the precedent that was set, followed by later reactions from God that would indicate homosexuality not being a part of God's original intention when it came to instituting romantic bonds. The constitution of the traditional Christian marriage happens when a man and a woman have sex for the first time, using all genitalia that was designed for the purpose of procreation. Biblically, the phrasing reads "The two became one", followed by God's command to "Go and be fruitful" - and is interpreted by scholars to indicate that from then on - Adam and Eve would become one unit - a married couple. The biggest concern with the right of refusal however isn't "Oh my goodness this is a couple of men/women trying to wed and we don't agree with their choices." - but rather "Oh my goodness, God wouldn't be a part of this union - so therefore it wouldn't be - traditionally - a marriage and it would be a waste of our time doing the ceremony, along with being heretical." The note there - is that the worry isn't sprouted from homophobia or discriminatory mindsets - you could come to that realization without being rude to a homosexual couple at all. Naturally the "Why is the ceremony heretical" question will follow, but then you have to explain that God wouldn't be part of the union - and that in a Judeo-Christian marriage, God is a part of it, and it is used to glorify Him in return even before the concept of reciprocated love between two individuals - which is what rules in the realm of "Civic Marriages" held by the municipal annexes in this country. You wouldn't have to tell them their wanting to be wed is "wrong", or "sinful" in the slightest. You would have give them your theological reasoning and it would fall on the couple to respect it as your right to worship freely.
  22. RCBA Season 1 is officially underway! Several matches have already been recorded and there are several more throughout the week! Just to let everyone know - This thread will serve the purpose of being a weekly newspost area. Here you will be able to find the currently division leaders, as well as get a glimpse into what the committee might be thinking as the season goes on and tournament brackets begin to fill themselves in. Later in the season when rankings are able to be shaken out, they will be posted here as well, along with indications of which players are "on-the-bubble" for the championship tourney. Friendly reminder. There are three types of situations you will find yourself in during the regular season, week-to-week. DIVISONAL MATCHES - In these battles, you will be battling someone IN your division, and the stakes are somewhat high for these matches - because if you want to be in the tournament NO QUESTIONS ASKED you want to be the division champion. Winning and Losing divisional match-ups affects your divisional ranking - and you are looking for the best Win/Loss ranking you can possibly get here in order to compete for that championship bid. NON-DIVISIONAL MATCHES - Non divisional battles take place against opponents who are in a division OUTSIDE of yours. A loss to these opponents doesn't affect your divisional standing, but -can- hurt you when all the players are ranked and tournament seeds begin to be doled out at the end of the regular season. The importance of divisional matches is to be the very best - the importance of NON-divisional matches is to -avoid- being the worst. Still a win you want to pursue! BYE WEEKS - Just like in several athletic sports - Players may find themselves without an opponent a couple of weeks this season. This one's easy to comprehend. You get the week off to work on your teams or focus on life outside of this competition. --- Remember, You don't have to battle IMMEDIATELY as a new week starts. So take your time to team build and practice before challenging your opponents each week. Also, make sure you winners (or generous losers) out there submit your battle log to it's appropriate thread! Lack of logs mean that your battle was invalid, so don't forget!
  23. Okay. Just going to drop this one off here. The right of refusal - if taken AWAY from religious institutions - violates that organizations right to religious freedom in America. A church is not a cooperate business, but more-so a community of American citizens practicing their faith by not conducting a ceremony for a marriage their deity isn't going to be part of by default. Yes, there -ARE- Homosexual Christians. Yes, it -will- be inevitable when a homosexual couple attempts to hold a marriage ceremony in a church. Assuming the church is being somewhat biblical in practice, they -SHOULD- deny that couple because it would be heretical to go through with the proceedings. (I am aware that some churches -DO- and I -am- aware that it can be seen as discriminatory to deny people the right to be married when it's a national right given to American citizens and it can be so easily attributed to a citizen's sexual orientations.) The reason a church's right of refusal is NOT discrimination is because the church is NOT denying the couple because they are homosexual, but because the church believes Marriage is only reality when God is involved and Scripture clearly states that in order for God to be involved, there must be One Man/One Woman. To illustrate this. It is perfectly acceptable to be a gay churchgoer. If a Church is being assuredly biblical (under the current covenant-...Gaunt...Mael....) they usually allow the homosexual in with open arms, let them join the choir and small groups and partake in mission trips, and allow homosexuals to apply for being elders, deacons, and church staff - with only a noticeable dropoff of homosexuals in ministerial positions (and by this point, we're not talking about a lot of people and even then it's up to congregational vote and religious institute process -which differs for Catholicism- whether ANYONE gets to preach and be on the payroll - so it's not because of their orientation that there not many gay pastors.) TL:DR - If you want to sue someone because you feel discriminated by a church because they didn't let you marry your gay partner, you would need to sue God Himself - because the biblical church wouldn't use that right of refusal they are granted to deny a marriage unless God wouldn't be a part of it to begin with. Fighting the followers over this would at best be a waste of time, and at worst be a possibly catastrophic infraction of the 1st Ammendment for another group of Americans, divide the country even further, and ruin one group of people for the sake of another. It's at that point that the fight stops being about Equality and more about holding an opposing worldview down.
