  1. Disclaimer: This thread's purpose is to discuss what the author deems to be issues with the PokeNations weekly contest that may have been caused by negligence or unknown causes when the project was launched, and as such, the author is not directly accusing any one nation, nation leader, or individual outright when suggesting that the problem is due in order to pursue an advantage in the contest. That being said, the author has the right, and will exercise it, to point out where potential scenarios cause these issues, and is willing to openly discuss whether or not these scenarios are helpful or do in fact, hinder the project. Hello everyone! To open what may be the most controversial thread I have ever composed, I would like to establish MY background as it relates to Nations, and explain that I am not raising awareness because of the situation I myself take claim in. My name is Hilda. I've participated in a nations battle once, and I lost that match. (The battle log can be found in Week 3's match-ups thread.) I also have been given the opportunity to compete this week, which means by the end of this week (Week 5, for reference), I will have participated in 40 percent of the challenges thus far. While I have enjoyed this project, the planning that is associated with it, the challenges the unique weekly restrictions bring, and even the fun teamwork it takes within your nation to try and find success, I want to bring attention to something that I feel is very alarming. On average, each Nation currently has 20 members, and total, there are 118 registered, nation-allied battlers as of the time of this post. If everyone was being given the chance to compete, the average amount of rosters one combatant would make on average at this point (Week 5) would be ONE roster. If you pay particular attention to specific battlers week to week, you know that isn't happening. (I myself just admitted to making my second roster this week, for reference.) The larger issue is that for some of you, you haven't even seen your name on a roster yet. So, that sentence above is the chief grievance I have with Nations so far. Below, I'll point out a few possible reasons why, you, my good sir or madam, may not have gotten the chance to compete in this very fun team-oriented contest.
  2. The Pokemon on that statue plinth, is Servine from a side perspective, giving it that kind of "eeveelution" body type from afar. Having played Skyward Sword, that most definitely looks a lot like the place you initially fight him, even though it's clearly a Pokemon stage.
  3. Ah, it's as riveting as college football can be. This week was the end for undefeated teams, and as an added bonus, nobody is an all time loser anymore (Go us!) Fantastic work, W4 roster.
  4. Reporting a loss to Kamina of Ruin. He had 3 pokemon remaining. I don't think I need to provide a battle log to prove that I lost, but I lost. trust me. Was a fun match though. EDIT: Ah, it was already taken care of above, with the battle log. Very nice.
  5. NOPE. I delete them from my nets whenever I remember-.... Fine, I like cookies. The next person is more of an avid competitive battler than I.
  6. I absolutely LOVE the Flip Book stage because it could potentially be a LOT more than is revealed in the picture. - Hooktail's Castle - Cortez's Cave - Goombario's Verdana - Flipside...? ...I mean, it's a book, so it would be kinda silly if it only had two pages....of course, most of the changes to the stage could be more subtle, justifying keeping the images to Sticker Star (a DS title) and the S.S. Flavion Also...I HIGHLY DOUBT a Shulk 'reveal'..but that's not saying he doesn't make the roster. I think Shulk will be a hidden unlock-able character. He certainly won't make the starting roster, with Link, the Mii Fighter, and four Fire Emblem swordsmen already aboard. and the picture of 'N's Castle' is the front steps of the Unova Pokemon League...perhaps that stage changes, like the Fire Emblem one in Brawl.
  7. Dunno what Vinny thinks, but I thought it was neat. Tempest.
  8. Hey, everyone needs to calm down. We still love you, Temp. We promise.
  9. If you guys weren't a bunch of losers before.... Joking. Thank you all, and LEGGO.
  10. Sup. hmm.......I'm gonna try Rose again.
  11. I'm afraid my walls don't tumble down after walking around me seven times. Rose?
  12. I guess predicting yourself to go next is cool as long as you don't answer your own request... Sheep?
  13. Rose, I'm going to go with cats. Dogs want way to much attention. Money or Fame?
  14. "Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment." - Proverbs 12:19 Your confession has been heard, friend, as have your prayers. Thank you for allowing yourself to let it go, because it allows us as your peers to see who you really are. That shouldn't be something you are afraid to tell from now on, because you have already righted the ship. As Jesus said to the adulteress that was not stoned because her accusers also had sinned, "Go and sin no more." You've got my support from now on.
  15. I guess I have a lot of thoughts, seeing as I have just now been caught up on the news. - Mega Swampert's Swift Swim -should- make it a more viable Pokemon than it already is, and will increase it's viability in competitive play a bit more. - I really LOVE Mega Sceptile's design, as well as it's Dragon secondary type.....but LIGHTNINGROD?....It has only a few minute uses, such as negating T-wave.... - I think the unique thing about Magic Bounce Mega Sableye is that it will provide guesswork, as regular Sableye (Prankster) has a completely different niche. - Mega Metagross. Cool. - The gameplay images are pretty neat, and the character designs are everything I have expected. I am generally pleased. - If Kyogre was not the superior box-legendary of the 3rd Generation already, it is for sure now. Although the Fire typing of Primal Groudon does give it some needed attack upgrade.
  16. I can't speak for Telos, but I'm the one who showed up. Vinny.
  17. In an illustrative approach. I want to be the staff that aids the weary man as he treks. I want to be the vessel that is used for the Creator's work. I want to be the most to those that are the least. I want to be yoked to the one who saves. I want to be strong in my own weakness. I want to be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, gentle, faithful, and in control of myself. I want to humble myself in my victories, and take heart in my defeats. I want to be still, so as to know my battles will be won. I want to serve my purpose. (This response is not to invite contention as to the legitimacy of certain beliefs, but was to answer the question asked in the title of this thread.- EDIT)
  18. Oh, well in that case, your imaginary protagonist looks VERY similar to the original one. Ah, it shouldn't turn out too bad, given what you have already displayed.
  19. From pure art appraisal standpoint, I think it's beautiful, and I really think your style gives the characters that much needed definition that only fanart/manga/anime interpretation could bring. From a comparative standpoint, Alice (I think that's the portrayed protagonist's generic name) has a similarity to Amethyst (IRL, not in the game) and Luna, in which she has bangs that crest over the shoulders. It's sort of a silly staple that I looked for when searching for fan art of Alice on my own. Be it intentionally (as in, you wanted a windswept effect when creating your masterpiece) or not, It was hard for me to put two and two together who the female was. This is hardly criticism, she's excellent portrayed. Things I -would- request if you took them. - Vero (the "white" protagonist), or Kuro (the "dark" one) alongside...Fern in similar fashion to this photo. - Top Hat Radomus. - In-Game Ame. - Ms. Craudberry confronting any player character. - The player watching one of Shade's monitors in his gym. - A college-try of Shade himself. - Charlotte cigarette-singeing Dr. Connal. - Ghost Kiki confronting the player at Byxboision (spelling may be horrid) - Florinia crushing a league challengers dreams.
  20. Certainly. It isn't -as- scary as your typical horror movie in the fact that 1) most of the time the person that is allegedly possessed will acknowledge that something is wrong to those around them in the form of something coming out at them or that they are experiencing some sort of symptom, and 2) there typically is not extreme contortion of the body. What DOES happen is that the host will speak out of person, have an aversion to religious music/scripture, have unnatural brute strength while possessed, and will, when exposed to any effective exorcism technique, emit a loud, again unnatural scream. Bible studies are not always intense studies. As opposed to your typical classroom setting, it's more of a cross between listening to a sermon and participating in a book club.
