Aw, that's too bad. A see a powerful Staraptor (or Sceptile) off in the distance.....could just be the sauce though.

Before I break response down Sheep, I totally understand that viewpoint. Around Reborn, Gyrados is literally Simon Peter if Pidgeot is Bird Jesus. "people will still look for it" - Well, naturally, this is so. The thing is, now, the game -WANTS- to -GIVE- you the Karp. Even the barely adventurous Pokemon Trainer knows that if a guy is trying to sell you a Pokemon, it's probably Magikarp. The difference with having to fish for it is you probably have to actually -hunt- for the fishing spot. I personally think Gyrados is so good because it has a spotlight on it from the very beginning. If you get rid of the event and make the Karp more obscure, that's the first step to making the game better, "stop less patient people from getting it." - As evil as this may sound of me, that's a goal. Now we're getting to where we are weeding away potential users, and this will mean that the other Water type pokemon are getting a better look. This is progress and it should be duly noted. "annoy the more patient people" - There's a trade-off here as well. Remember how you used to get gauged for cash in order to get the thing? Your perseverance for actually fishing is that the price has completely dropped (or Ame could make the fisherman charge you 200 pokedollars for five casts, to sort of insinuate that there may be goodies in the reservoir while not spoiling the surprise...if the catch rate was a little bit less steep than I am imagining.) I would rather spend time myself training my pokemon and progressing through the story, so if getting a potentially gamebreaking pokemon is a burden, then it feels more like a reward for my efforts as opposed to a wrongfully placed Pokemon. That's partially why Gyrados is so gamebreaking. Everyone who talks to random npcs knows that it's available. Ame could pull an update like this and -not- tell people where the Karp has been moved at all. Magikarp is a "special" Pokemon that practically jumps from one side of the spectrum to the other (I also think Gardevoir has the same complex, and ironically, their next on the chopping block together) I don't think people should be punished for raising one because for a while, it -is- indeed a burden, but I think it's issues stem from overexposure and predictable circumstance as much as others see it as being too effective.

Ditto, because why pick just ONE pokemon when ALL of the pokemon can be your favorite?... Okay, FINE.....Jokes aside, my favorite Pokemon is Crobat. I tend to be a softie for things that don't get alot of respect. With Crobat, it blossoms from common cave dweller to one of the fastest, most reliable pokemon there is, and you can usually find one very early on in each game. (Except in 6th gen, where I actually had to hunt for it.)

Ame? A Sadist....Cmon.... *watches a Shofu video where he battles Bennett twice*.....Nevermind, I see what you mean... Welcome, Sgt. Catnip. -
If you're going to make this an argument, Gaunt, I'm not going to take part. Allow me to clarify. You either made the point that you think Magikarp is too good for the Old Rod (which is never the case according to GameFreak) or that you think the only way you should get Magikarp is by going broke and making it rain on some shady fisherman looking for a quick buck. I don't want to make Magikarp effortless AT ALL. The whole problem we have is that Gyrados is too good for a game like Reborn early on. I also don't want to put the Karp on a unnecessary pedestal that it doesn't belong on simply because it -evolves- into a monster. If your willing to waste your time poking around for a Magikarp, then the time you spend hunting for it is your just payment, now you get to enjoy training the thing. You wanna know what I feel is cheap? Getting a level 20 Magikarp with a Good Rod. Might as well be fishing for Gyrados itself at that point. Now, feel free to waste your time pointing out where I stated the obvious and then assuming that my argument is based on said occurrences and nothing else. I'm done with this particular discussion..

......Unless it's a RARE find. Just because you're using an Old Rod doesn't mean you're always catching a Magikarp. If that's all you know about Pokemon, you simply haven't used an Old Rod enough. The point I'm getting at is, make the fishing rate so bad -while keeping the rod the same- that people see Panpour as a quick out instead instead of wasting a lot of time fishing. Secondly, there's no reason to be catching a level 20- something Magikarp and NOT have to really deal with the pains of training a Magikarp in Reborn. At least with the old rod, after you get very lucky finding the thing, you -still- have to work at switch training it. If you see a fisherman dude hanging out RIGHT NEXT TO THE EXIT of a Pokemon Center, your most likely going to talk to him. It's blatantly obvious how you get Magikarp in Reborn, meanwhile, nobody wastes their time with the old road unless they -really- want a lightningrod Goldeen...but with Magikarp right in front of the face, not very many people will want that Goldeen. I'm a firm believer in the phrase "time is money." If you have nothing better to do but look for the 3% chance of a Magikarp that you still have to switch train forever, you DESERVE to keep your pokedollars after finding one.

Gonna have to go with Shuckle here. PULSE machines should probably always mean Team Meteor was messin' around the area. I like Trubbish more than I like Grimer #Gen5Rulz

Slowly but surely, the moon will be above Nuvema Town, and ill be asleep instead of wide awake. #FinalsWeek

^ Take me away, Ocifer. ......I guess i'll go with Vinny this time.

Don't agree with the Good Rod thing....... Good Rod pokes are typically higher levelled than Old Rod pokes....which means "yes, you wouldn't be able to use Gyrados in the early game" but also defeats the "struggle" of having to deal with an utterly useless Pokemon for a good while. The main problem Magikarp has in this game is that it's a very prominent event, with a 100 percent success rate. If you were to place it as a rare catch (with the old rod for those that are patient, and thus, justly rewarded) it would be 1) out of the view early on in the game, forcing those that don't know about to actually have to look around for it and 2) make the water types they DO fish for more often, or save via event, more appealing early on to save time.

Swag Jockey Grasshole has challenged you to a battle....

SHEEP......you sniped me! Good play sir. Sorry, I don't run a innovation business in the Pokeverse. Tempest.

I love how everything goes right back to Gyarados. One thing you could do is to remove Gyarados is just remove the event and make it a very rare catch from the the fishing spot in Peridot. Don't have the time for a silly Magikarp? Go save Panpour instead. No need to replace it.

It's a bird...no it's a plane.....but it's certainly not Zeph... Mikzal.

OTP. - Was there. - Was Beautiful - So Wow

^ That exchange was entertaining. If we are talking about mountains, I would love to see Skarmory make a debut. With Reborn's scarcity in Flying-type support TMs, i don't -at least at this moment in time- see why it can't be done.

You can actually find another Protein in the Peridot Ward if you poke around the rubble and rocks in the city (as you would if you had an itemfinder)....If you were to purchase the 'Karp, that second Protein would help you get back your investment.

You mean like how Shade convinced Luna to flee from El, Sheep?
-
I don't know if you would have -had- to do the Aqua or Magma gang event beforehand (I know you did for a shot at couple of Pokemon, and a certain useful key item) but if you didn't I would suggest going alley hunting throughout the city and be ready for a few (at this point in your adventure, cakewalk) battles. Helpful hint: Corey's body fell in the ward at least one of the gangs' hideout alleys are located in.
-
There's nothing to suggest Shade -really- has that big of a role in the story. He's very restricted in dialogue, which doesn't help lorehounds in the slightest when it comes to pinpointing his purpose in the story. What we do know is that he is the active custodian of death for the Reborn Region, as well as the acting Ghost gym leader for the region, and that he is pretty good at predicting future events. We know that he has a relationship with Luna and the twins that is seemingly positive, and that Corey is now one of his active Pokemon. Finally, we know that if the player character needs a favor of Shade *such as turning on the power so that the railnet door to the Yureyu building would open up* he would oblige. Shade's role to the player character is to reveal the consequences of some action, it seems to me. Let's roll through the footage again. Corey: The player character seemingly disagrees with Corey's ideals, and then defeats the Gym leader in battle. *Beginning a cycle of dismay* Then, Heather bursts in and announces that she is leaving Corey for good and takes off. This action combined with the feeling of defeat leads Corey to take his own life, leaving the player character partially responsible. Kiki: Cain is unable to stop Team Meteor alone at the top of Mt. Pyrous, but is able to stall just long enough for the player and Victoria to reach the top of the Volcano. The player and Victoria then stall for more time enough for Kiki herself to make her way up to the top. This means that the Camerupt on the PULSE machine has lost valuable time to simply destroy Apophyll Beach. The player loses to (or bores, depending on the outcome) Solaris, and Kiki is forced to intervene. Cal is ordered to stop her Medicham from attacking the Camerupt, and as result Medicham is thrown into the volcano, followed by Solaris' Garchomp slaying Kiki. Because the player and Victoria arrived at the right time, Kiki was killed via Garchomp (don't feel too bad, she could have been one of the MANY dead on Apophyll via lava instead.) There is no real way to know for sure what Shade's motives really are.

The "good" Doctor may not have the best methods when it comes to treatment, but you can't say he doesn't have skill at making a diagnosis. All four of those are very believable. For instance, Noel is "losing" the ability to "hear" Nomos, and is often times trying to correct his sisters visionary or auditory ticks Laura has the "ticks" of someone who would be diagnosed with OCD. ...Charlotte may be the patient Sigmund least understands, and thus might be the most debatable diagnosis present. Aforementioned was the episode where Anna mentions her "scars"... Her emotional psyche's that is. Charlotte could actually be in the "anger" stage of the Kubler-Ross cycle of guilt, or could justify her conduct by totally attributing it to her hatred of Sigmund. This leads me to Saphira... Saphira might have Post-Traumatic Embitterment Disorder, which is modeled after PTSD. Remember when Charlotte burned the house down? That's one unfortunate event that probably had an effect on the entire family, and Saphira is no different. With her though, we know her by her famous quote. "Revenge is a dish best served...Now." and we know that even after killing half of Team Meteor's work detail that she isn't even remotely close to quenched when it comes to vengeance. The only suggested form of "possible" treatment is "wisdom therapy", and I am willing to bet that while an orphan, Sigmund didn't go that route in the slightest, thus, heres what we must assume would remain with Saphira after she was released. - a lust for Vengeance - an attachment to what she still possesses (in this case, think Family) - a resistance to change (this one is a stretch, but think of taking on the entirety of Team Meteor and killing people before moving out of the house.) - a bitter demeanor (we can't really say Saphira is all roses.) In a way, she's a lot like Charlotte, but seems more reserved. This is referred to as embitterment, as opposed to active rage. That's about as close as I could come up with though, so hopefully watching Dr. Hilda embarrass herself by providing a diagnosis entertained you all.

Few things, if you are playing the Reborn game, you might consider playing in a room without windows on the first floor, because it is designed to mold you into the best Pokemon Trainer you can be. - Remember when you used to not give any rips what your pokemon's abilities were during the story? Might want to look into those. Natures are still up to you, you may breed for them later on. - If at first you don't succeed, try to find what went wrong. It isn't always "HAX", even if it may seem like it is. - Pokedollars are your friend early on. If you can, no matter what others may tell you, try to hold onto them early game. Other than that, do hop on Pokemon Online. Cheers.
