Where does one acquire a Ghastly within episode 17.
Azeria replied to Merely Curious.'s topic in Reborn City
You're saying "Outside of Destiny Bond" yet Destiny Bond is a key part of it's moveset; being one of the select fast users of the move, It makes it so it never truly gets walled because even if it 'does', It guarantees the kill regardless, meaning it'll have put in work regardless. I've recently done a Ghost mono and Gengar was absolutely the most key member of the party, both in part due to it's awesome support movepool(Hypnosis, Curse and Destiny Bond are great.) and Shadow Ball hitting hard as ever. Besides, Poison moves are pretty meh coverage, Dazzling Gleam hits Dark Types anyways and Ghost+Fairy coverage is superior. -

Jaggi's Ground Monotype Run [Amaria down - see you again in Ep18!]
Azeria replied to Gentleman Jaggi's topic in Team Showcase
@Gentleman Jaggi Aww. No Gastrodon solo. Pretty cool strategy none the less. Surprised you didn't try using Sludge Wave with Swampert to set the stage for Excadrill to go ham though, what with him now being immune to all water moves and being able to set up on Rotom for free. I guess you thought you'd at least give her a fighting chance, or forgot Swampert got that. Surprised you didn't hunt for a choice band so Torterra's wood hammer could barrel through more easily. I'd personally wager to say if you use more of Ground's Pokemon, Amaria could've been among the easiest leaders in the game for you. -

Bug Monotype run of Reborn (Latest Defeated Leader: Amaria)

Ah. Misread that then. I would've thought it a cool twist if her choice in Mega Pokemon changed between paths, having her using them in both. But having 'Darker' ones in Mega Gyarados and Sharpedo on the Reshiram path, while the lighter themed ones in Swampert, Blastoise that she currently uses in the Zekrom path. Just my 2 cents there.- 294 replies

In a way, yes. At the same time it's incredibly disappointing, seeing as she's been hyped up the entire game as this overwhelming wrecking ball.- 294 replies

Bug Monotype run of Reborn (Latest Defeated Leader: Amaria)
Azeria replied to Jess's topic in Team Showcase
Water is an incredibly versatile type, it's that her team itself is just not using those options properly and ends up being extremely rigid, any change in condition and she falls apart. Honestly she'd have benefitted so much from a Tentacruel along with Kingdra on her doubles team, as well as Tentacruel on her singles. They're so good on these fields, and Tentacruel can immediately take advantage of Murkwater if it's changed to that.- 294 replies

Bug Monotype run of Reborn (Latest Defeated Leader: Amaria)

And to most Water immune Pokemon, those moves will barely be doing a thing. Cradily curbstomps her, Gastrodon curbstomps her. Ironically both also get Sludge Wave so they can even turn her field advantage against her. Heck back in Alpha, I used Cradily's Sludge Wave in combination with Excadrill to 6-0 her cleanly. As for Shedinja, I don't really blame Ame for forgetting about it, it's like, never used...but then she put a Nincada egg super early, at a point where Pokemon variety is low. So I imagine more people could be coming to her with it.- 294 replies

Bug Monotype run of Reborn (Latest Defeated Leader: Amaria)

Her true weakness isn't Grass or Electric types, it's pretty much anything with a water immunity giving ability. Put any of those Pokemon in front of her and she's practically helpless.- 294 replies

@Gentleman Jaggi As of public release; Amaria has Megas on the Reshiram path only. Her teams got changed from Community; which is where Jess seems to have beaten her in. And yeah, watching Shedinja stall her to death isn't really interesting, but it's super satisfying considering what she tries to do moments prior in the Reshiram path. She deserves it.- 294 replies

Tbf they barely needed anything other than Shedinja here lol, Shedinja hard counters Amaria's entire team and a good majority of Titania's- 294 replies

You could've also used a Shedinja with Safety Goggles and the WoW TM from Mirage Tower to hardstop everything but Aegislash. Interesting strategy none the less.- 294 replies

Doesn't really matter. Gengar needs 2 moves to be good; Shadow Ball and Destiny Bond. -

Jaggi's Ground Monotype Run [Amaria down - see you again in Ep18!]
Azeria replied to Gentleman Jaggi's topic in Team Showcase
I feel pretty sure that reason most people prefer the Reshiram route is because there's just -as of now- objectively more and better content to play through. Not a big fan of how the split was handled. Nice Titania fight by the way, by far my favourite boss in the game now. -

I'll defend Greninja any day, it's an awesome Pokemon but Ash-Greninja is just outright unnecessary. Where's my Mega :[
-
I won't defend it's overusage in reborn; it's outright unecessary on Fern and Solaris, but there's a very good reason why Scizor and Scyther are fan favourites. The design is just very generally appealing, and it's ironic that it's so good offensively when it has 2 of the worst offensive types. It, Forretress and Heracross are pretty much the first actually good bug types, so gotta give it props for that.
-
@Wolfox Hey, no one said Ash-Greninja was not a plague upon this earth
-
Duskull. Dusknoir is by far my favourite ghost type and I like it's baby stage just as much. Comparatively my actual favourite Pokemon is one I much prefer in it's final stage despite being incredibly cute in it's base stage.
