  1. Yukari raised an eyebrow, apparently otherwise unfazed by Masako's antics. It seemed that the strike hadn't even deformed the cloth of her hat. "Oh? That's quite bold of you." The woman abruptly sunk into empty space and disappeared. "You know, you should be careful making demands of a youkai like myself." Her voice now came from the ceiling; she was in the exact same position, but upside down, without so much as disturbing her clothing. "I don't recall ever entering a contract with you, either. But, you have saved me some effort. . . name your price, and perhaps I'll humor you."
  2. "She really said that?" Yuyuko pursed her lips thoughtfully for a moment. "She might have succeeded. I think whatever you said was reasonable." As if on cue, Youmu reappeared from the kitchen, precariously balancing a number of plates filled with a variety of traditional foods (and a disproportionate number of sweets) in her arms. It appeared that the samurai girl was using her ghostly half as a serving tray. "I wasn't sure what our guests would like, so I made a variety." The foods seemed to be remarkably well-selected; each guest ended up with something fairly close to their tastes, as long as there was a Japanese dish that approached them. Once the food was distributed, she took her own seat at the table, eating a relatively plain meal of fried rice. "I see. Does she have a pile of freeloaders at her house, too?" Reimu grumped, before digging into the rolls of sushi before her. "At least nobody destroyed the shrine this time." A slight smile appeared on Yukari's face as Reimu spoke; unusually enough, it did not seem to be a coy or conspiratorial one. Her good cheer faded back into the typical mysterious mask as she returned her attention to LOTUS. "They indeed came from another world. I only caught a brief glimpse, but I don't believe that the ones who delivered them here were from the same world as the items themselves." The more dangerous smile returned. "Now, what price shall I extract from you for giving this information so straightforwardly. . . ?" She shifted position, lounging further back. "I'm sure I can think of something."
  3. "That's charitable." Tsubasa nodded. "I don't see why I'd damage it." Tsubasa took the mask in hand and looked it over for it before popping it on and seeing what happened.
  4. Lucine hesitantly edged closer to the brewing fight. She didn't want to be there at all - it was the farthest thing from her desires - but she was supposed to be helping, right? "O-opal, get ready." She pulled the Mystic Code out of her backpack, splitting her into the familiar pair of gun-like devices. Lucine didn't hand control over quite yet, though; she was waiting to see if a battle really did break out. "We can, um, try to find another way? I know some about magic. M-Maybe the Class Cards can help?" She loaded Herakles into the Install slot on the gun in her right hand, while the hero called Red Sonja slid into the left.
  5. Kusuke snorted, and resisted the urge to laugh out loud as Leo managed to electrify himself somehow. That amusement aside, he did have another thing to concern himself with. He was about to agree with Satomi, when he got a strange feeling that he'd been in a discussion like this before, and that he'd said the wrong thing. ". . . You know, Satomi, I understand where you're coming from, but sometimes it can be important to remember the small things. Helping someone get their pets back might not be as pressing as fortifying the world against invasion, but. . ." He shook his head, a minor headache starting to come on. He really needed to find a way to sleep better. "Don't get too carried away with the big picture. Bad things can happen."
  6. "He didn't say anything about it." Her hand twitched towards her sword instinctively. She didn't feel any urge to eat human flesh, but yet. . . "I've never heard of a curse like that, but that was back home. So I'm probably not turning into a demon." This last wasn't aimed at anyone in particular; Tsubasa was almost assuredly comforting herself. "I haven't tried to control it." She poked at the scales lightly. "Maybe stand back a bit." Tsubasa herself put some distance between herself and the pair, then concentrated for a moment. A small flurry of scales turned orange before dropping off of her head and exploding. The Demon Slayer jumped just a bit too far in dodging them, before glancing back towards Edmond. "Yes."
  7. "Oww. . ." Lucine rubbed at the spot the tazer had made contact despite there being no visible damage. She suddenly became much more alert-looking when the crash sounded; coming down the stairs, she saw the source and immediately shied away. "D-do we have to fight? We were just looking around to see what this place was." She sidled back up the stairs slightly, pulling her backpack around to her front and reaching inside for Opal - who, blessedly, elected to keep quiet despite the death grip on her triggers.
  8. "I... No, not really, but I have scales on my head. People aren't supposed to have scales." She looked considerably distressed by this development. "I was just thinking about how useful blowing up when someone attacks you is and then this happened."
  9. Lucine primarily responded to the attack with an electricity-modulated squawk of pain followed by passing out.
  10. Tsubasa largely hadn't been paying attention to Cicivexa's planning (likely to his benefit,) instead doing something a short distance away. It wasn't exactly clear what, but it resulted in a small explosion followed by a shriek from the swordsman. "What the hell is this? Why are these here!?" She prodded at the scales frantically, trying to get them to go away without actually setting them off.
  11. "Um... Hello?" Lucine manages, before nearly jumping out of her skin at the crash. "W-What was that? What's going on?" She looked back at the yellow lizard person. "D-did you call someone? We're not here to do anything bad!"
  12. "Oh, hey, a fox. Don't see a lot of those back home." He idly wondered about that for a moment. There were people like the Kaka tribe that had adapted to the seithr that carpeted the world - maybe the animals were better off than humans, too? Not that there was much reason or opportunity to find out. Kusuke crouched down to get a better look at the critter, before glancing back at Mirri. "Hey, you're got some kind of mind reading, right? I don't know how complex animal thoughts are, but maybe that could let us figure out where these two are supposed to be."
  13. Lucine continues to fiddle with the tools, seeing if the vibration has any meaning, and how they react to an infusion of magic.
  14. Korinna just rolled her eyes. If they weren't all already dead, she would be worried about all these theatrics getting people killed. That said, they were endangering her chances of ever crawling out of this hole and getting her revenge. She elected to take her irritation out on the nearby skeleton. Thwack Bowaton B
  15. Kusuke resisted the urge to sigh. Satomi seemed to refuse to care for herself at times - not that he had a lot of room to criticize. "I see. Well, just keep in mind that not everyone that dies is killed by a shot to the vitals. You have to watch for the smaller stuff, too." He glanced at Leo, who seemed to be pressing forward. He'd have to follow him, make sure he didn't do anything inventively stupid this time. "Don't feel like you can't rest while you have the chance. I think this place is mostly safe, so we should be all right if we decide to." Kusuke gestured towards the errant mage. "I'm going to. . . back him up. Yeah." The look he gave Satomi made it clear what his real intent was.
  16. "Uhh, Satomi, you should probably get patched up first." He moved slightly closer, getting a better look. It bothered him that he couldn't actually help this time; the wounds were definitely old enough that he couldn't fix them without sending all of her back, and that wasn't an experiment he was keen on doing. "What happened, anyway? It looks like a wild animal went after you."
  17. Justine glanced down at her blade for a moment. A blade that had only tasted the blood of one of her allies thus far. A tool of justice that had thus far only caused harm. Was it a metaphor for herself? She still wondered if she was really making a difference, if she really belonged here. Her grip tightened. If it was going to be an allegory for its owner, then she was going to write out what it was saying. "Attacking my sister was a mistake." The performer darted in, steel catching the light as it flashed towards the cavalier's throat. M-14, stab mage C! (after the space is freed up)
  18. "Oh, a U-boat? What an interesting development. I suppose, if it would be any one. . ." Her musings were cut short by Rory's question. "Ah, silly me, I nearly forgot." A small gap in space opened up directly in front of the hunter, and out spilled six slips of paper. Miko Ticket x3 obtained! Cherry Blossom Ticket x3 obtained! Reimu tilted her head at Empi's question. "I don't know if it's exactly what you mean, yes, but it's usually my job to deal with problems that arise in Gensokyo. I exterminate youkai that are becoming too much of a threat." The lack of reaction from the multiple youkai in the room might have indicated that "exterminate" didn't mean what it usually meant. "I made some modifications to your abilities so they would fit within the spell card rules. Outsiders such as yourselves would have little practice with danmaku, so I gave you a helping hand. Rest assured that you won't need to worry about them functioning oddly anywhere else." "Ah, you really are from Outside, aren't you? Danmaku is the art of bullets. It's a way to resolve problems that relies less on the power of the combatants and more on their skill and grace." "It also allows beings such as myself or your tengu friend to attack humans without killing them. It would be quite problematic if we had to stop."
  19. "I don't need to defend myself. I did what I could to protect myself and others with the information I had. If you have a problem with that, you're not worth talking to." She sighed. Demons were easier to deal with than people, at times. They tried to eat you, you cut parts off of them until they stopped. Action, reaction, no thoughts, just doing what needed to be done. "Especially after I helped fight those things off. Which were already there, by the way." Granted, she hadn't intended on luring them, but good things happened when you just went with the flow. "Do you think it was better that they showed up when we were all alert, or would you rather it was after people had gone to sleep?"
  20. Kusuke turned the device over a few times, mentally comparing it to the notes in his head. "I could probably duplicate this. The methodology would be a little different, but given sufficient ambience. . ." His musings were cut off when Frigus opened a door and revealed a portal. Glancing at the two who seemed to be proceeding to the alley, it didn't take him long to decide to follow, despite the headache that was sure to follow. Leo hadn't screwed anything up yet, but given his track record, it was only a matter of time. The time traveler couldn't help but watch him out of the corner of his eye - at least until Mirri called him out, making him jump slightly. "What?" He vaguely remembered her being. . . psychic? Kusuke couldn't remember if she'd explained it. "I'll try, I guess. No promises."
  21. Kusuke spent a moment longer peering at the menu before following Mirri out and back to the party. The Ethers probably weren't actually what he was looking for, but it was worth a shot. When was the last time I slept? He wasn't sure if he actually remembered, which probably should have been more worrying to him than it actually was. He tried to get over the fact that they were being briefed by Leo of all people, and resolved to double check the information himself later. For now, though, he'd thought of something. That. . . otter person, Law, if he remembered correctly. He reminded Kusuke of someone else. The tech he carried around also gave off a familiar impression, despite not resembling anything he was familiar with. "Hey, Law, do you mind if I take a look at that? I want to see if I can puzzle out something about how it works."
  22. Tsubasa glanced between Cicivexa and Travis, then shrugged and went back to eating.
  23. "The weapons look like something you could find back home, but other than that, no, not really." He shrugged. "I think it's been a while since we last met." He couldn't help but frown; the last time he could remember them meeting was... Unpleasant. Not that it had much to do with her. ". . . hopefully things go better here."
