  1. Forget that, how about the time he didn't notice there were more than 8 gym leaders despite it being advertised on the download page? If you're too vague about something he'll never find it and you'll have wasted your time.
  2. Oh right, I'd also mention that every gym leader* has their field notes available somewhere BEFORE you fight them, so he should never be going into a gym match unprepared, should he want to actually succeed at nuzlocking this game. *except Noel for some reason. And anyone whose field can be set on fire. I don't know why Ame put those two field notes so late in the game.
  3. There appears to be a mistake in the Icy Field's readout.

It says that Rock moves are ADDED Ice type, meaning they should be Rock/Ice moves and do neutral damage to pure Ice types.

But I used Power Gem on a Beartic and it took "not very effective" damage, meaning the move must have been changed to pure Ice type.

If that's intentional, there should be an arrow and not a plus sign in the readout.

  4. He went in the department store and STILL missed the whole sticker sidequest thing... Anyway I'm not this "mysterious person" feeding him info, but if I was, or if that person was reading this, I'd add: How to get those field readouts he missed To read that darn Pulse Dex he was just handed (it's Shofu and the field effects all over again, seriously. DON'T LET IT BE SHOFU AND THE FIELD EFFECTS ALL OVER AGAIN. We already saw the beginnings of that this episode with Cacnea's Sand Veil) Link to my sticker guide Point out how and why Nature Power is act
  5. Yeah, it's the dude next to Nurse Joy who wasn't there earlier. Thamill walks right past him at the end of the video.
  6. I'm not faulting him for missing them, just saying he needs to find them if he's so dead-set on this challenge mode where he has to win every fight on his first try. If he doesn't read the Desert Field notes in particular, he risks: > Losing Tiki to field-boosted Sand Tomb because he didn't even consider it'd be a threat, especially if he doesn't notice the Super Potion guy > Losing someone to an attack he didn't expect to be field-boosted, like Needle Arm or Pin Missile > Missing out on Kiki's Sand Attack being actually useful for once And that's ju
  7. Had time to watch the whole video, he really did walk right past the department store Well it's good that we finally have a youtuber who actually looks at the field effect guide! He missed four of them though, and one of them is for Florina's field which he's REALLY gonna want to see. Maybe a should tell him about those... and the fact that he can use common candies, too.
  8. I currently don't have time to watch the whole thing; did he REALLY just walk past the department store? Well if he did, let him know about it and also my sticker guide. I just updated it to be more spoiler-safe for new players like him.
  9. He hasn't lost a Pokemon yet and I don't feel like watching old videos looking for a death, so does someone who actually follows him know if he releases Pokemon when they die? Or just box them? If he boxes them he could pick them back up when (if?) he runs out of Pokemon and the Nuzloke becomes impossible. If he releases them we have a problem. Also HOW has he still not put 2 and 2 together on common candies? It's one thing to just be dumb, but every other comment is screaming it at him and he doesn't pre-record these.
  10. This guy isn't the brightest bulb in the box is he? >haha why would anyone use a Common Candy it lowers a Pokemon's level, how useless >oh no my Pokemon is too high level and won't listen to me! Whatever will I do? If only there was a workaround to this! >oh hey cool the game handed me an explanation on field effects including one for the boss I'm about to fight >lemme just not read it Inb4 he continues to complain about a lack of grinding spots even after unlocking the re-battle trainers. Although I don't think the game explicitly t
  11. Oops, looks like I missed Ame's birthday.   Happy belated birthday Ame!

  12. This is actually hilarious, I didn't even know such hijinks could be found before Julia- no, before even meeting Fern. I'm looking forward to what laughs are to had when he actually gets into the game. >Local man thinks he's gonna nuzlocke Reborn blind >People warn him >He tells them they're wrong because he beat the tutorial battle >Spends all his money on a Premier ball and 3 Potions >Two seconds in, almost dies to a Ducklett >Uses all 3 Potions to survive the Ducklett >Now he's out of items and money >Has big brained n
  13. I don't actually watch this dude's videos, but it's great to have another big source of publicity. Hopefully this one doesn't get increasingly disillusioned with the game as he plays before quitting because of how much the glass factory sequence sucks. Notice he mentions that he WANTS to keep playing, but won't if the video doesn't "get enough likes". I dunno how much is enough for him, but looking at his other recent videos it's outdoing all of them in terms of views. Hopefully that translates to enough likes.
  14. You'll never guess what my encounter for Digglet's Tunnel was.  A 5th Zubat.

Also RIP Red Eagle the Fletchinder (level 18-26)  Sacrificed herself to defeat the Totem Lurantis

  15. I've lost way too many Pokemon now, just from trying to level grind them to replace team members who died in ACTUAL battles.

    SOS battles SUUUUUUCK for Nuzlockes.

  16. Finally unlocked Poke-Pelago and... uh oh, I've been releasing my Pokemon as they die so I don't have enough to make the berry field.  Well then.

  17. Aw shit brooklet hill devastated me and I didn't even fight the Totem yet.  I knew I shouldn't have put off grinding.

RIP "Your Waifu" the Grimer (level 7-18) was too busy trying to keep Zubat alive in a double battle and didn't pay attention to her HP until it was too late.

RIP "Brobat" the Zubat (level 8-19) At least I have three more of the things lol

  18. Man these first encounters aren't working out for me.  Two Lilipups and neither even had the decency to have Pickup

  19. First island down, only losses so far were that Wingull and a Yungoos I had only caught a few minutes before he died.

RIP Bigly (level 9-10)  Seriously HOW did that tackle kill you from full HP, the thing was the same level and you only had -1 defense

  20. The idea of a Nuzlocke's first-pokemon rule is to get you to use stuff you wouldn't use normally, but so far it's all been stuff I've used before.

Also I've got 4 Zubats and counting.

    1. Commander

      Commander

Dupes clause is useful for that. Personally, I think it's more for people less skilled as it ends up having you in situations that aren't favorable. Oh dear lord Mossdeep Slaughterhouse brings back memories.

Nah, man.  Dupe's clause is for people who can't handle the rules and want an exemption.

    3. Ojama Yellow

      Ojama Yellow

alternatively for people who are sick of the fucking sixth poochyena in three gyms jesus fuck emerald why did you axe zigzagoon spawns

  21. Well, this Nuzlocke's not off to a great start.  Half the team is Grimers and I've already lost a Wingull to being an idiot while level grinding.

RIP Linda level (5-6) you basically didn't do anything.

At least I beat Ilima without a death.  That guy's Smeargle is crazy strong for something so early in the game.

  22. If you were nuzlocking gen 7, would you count "Route 1" and "Route 1: Hau'oli Outskirts" as two separate areas?  They're each a different section on  the map, they each have their own title cards, and each a different description, but at the same time...  they're both Route 1...

    1. seki108

      seki108

That's a bit of a tricky one.  I might say no, but looking at Bulbapedia, apparently they got different(?) descriptions in USUM.  Definitely an iffy call.  I don't know how many other areas you can catch mons in Gen 7 and I don't really Nuzlocke but you could probably count it as a technicality, especially if the game doesn't have as many areas as other games.......maybe?

    2. Ojama Yellow

      Ojama Yellow

i generally tend to count areas with the same name as the same area, but i make an exception for route 1 in alola. not fun at all to carry around only your starter until trainers school.

    3. Seal

      Seal

There are a lot of sub area's and I think there won't be a lot of Pokemon to catch if you don't count sub area's.

  23. After 3 and a half years of forgetting about it completely, I've finally finished the 6th gen monorun.  Until episode 19 of course.
