Under the Hill - Third Circle: Gluttony
CURIE replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
"Calm down bro, you're making it sound like there isn't more than enough to go around. Like I just said, this guy's loaded. He's got more handguns, he's got a shotgun, he's got a... I actually dunno what kind of gun that is." Edward kept digging through the rat's stuff, undeterred by the old man's demeanor (part of his philosophy is to treat everyone with the same amount of respect, no matter how they treat him back), but instead of putting it In his pockets or backpack, he tossed most of it over his shoulder, save for a few thingies of ammunition for the handgun he already picked up. Another reason he needed a sword instead of a gun-they don't run out of ammo. "Anyway, the rest of your traveling buddies are probably gonna come down from there soon, and they'll undoubtably ask you to share. Meanwhile, I have to... Crap I never planned this far ahead. Now that Quincy's dead I have no idea what to do with myself..." -

So far I've been best with Rosalina. Maybe I just keep getting lucky or something, but Luma seems to consitently be in just the right spot at just the right time. -
Update 18: Shelly and the Linkstone First of all, I’m an idiot for wondering what hold item to give Pumpkin. He’s there to use Light Screen and Reflect, of course I would give him Light Clay! Anyway, I had a plan for taking on Shelly and everything- and then I find out it’s a double battle! Actually, that sorta helped some aspects of the plan, like leading off with Pumpkin to set up a Light Screen and a Reflect. Now, anyone who’s fought Shelly with a rock type would advise you to fight Shelly with a rock type. I don’t have any rock-type 6th Gen Pokemon available yet, but I do have something almost as good: a Protean Greninja with a rock type move (Smack Down)! However, I didn’t bring him out for a while. I couldn’t switch in to him until someone died, because his initial dark typing makes it too dangerous, and I couldn’t lead with him because I needed Braveheart to take out that Illumese in the first turn. After taking out half of Shelly’s team, she finally went down due to a critical hit, and Strider came out (they didn’t even attack Pumpkin at all for some reason?). Smack down then took out all that remained of her team, except for the Anorith, which I had Water Pulse for. In the end , Pumpkin was only attacked once, by an Aqua Jet from Anorith (it did 5 damage). This battle was significantly easier than the ones leading up to it! After the battle, I could finally get the Linkstone, and I've finally decided who to use it on. I still haven't trained up Jack and am not using him yet, so it's kinda pointless to use it on him. I used it on Strawberry instead, and hopefully I can find another Link Stone before Kiki.

This was the first time Edward saw a gun fired since he got super powers, and as such didn't know what bullets look like when shot. But even then, he couldn't help but feel suspicious about the old guy's win. He saw the first bullet barely miss, and the third and subsequent bullets hit, but it was the second bullet that caught his attention. It went straight to the old man, was about to hit-and it disappeared. Perhaps the old guy has super powers as well! Either object manipulation, time manipulation, or some kind of force field. As glad as he was that he didn't have to watch an old man get shot to death, he was a little disappointed that he never got the chance to impress Enya. Perhaps he'd hide his superpowers for a bit longer. But now that the duel was over, it was time to get down from here. He tossed the bungee cord over the side of the wall, made a remark to the others along the lines of "If you guys need help getting down use this", and jumped. His fingers were circled around the cord, but not tightened around it. It slid through his hands as he fell, until he decided he was close enough to the ground to start slowing his fall. He tightened his grip and OW OW OW OW OW OW HE FORGOT TO WEAR THE GLOVES! Even with super powers, his hands felt like that one time his finger brushed against a hot glue gun while making a geography project. If he didn't have super powers, the skin on his hands might have been completely torn off! Well, unlike the glue gun incident, his hands felt better after a couple of seconds. He walked over to the scene of the duel. "Good job old timer, although you really should have let me take care of him. I'm much better suited for this kind of thing." This was true as far as Edward could tell, he had noticed the old guy visibly struggling despite the super powers. "Moving on to the spoils-Quincy's pretty loaded, don't you think? Since he won't be using any of these guns anymore, I suggest we don't leave them to waste." He passed the old guy at roughly the distance the bullet was at when it disappeared-no force field, or at least not anymore-and picked up the abomination's handgun. Finally, he had a real weapon. Unfortunately, this was the rare case he would prefer a sword over a gun. With his super powers, he's (probably, never actually tried) faster than a bullet, but a blade can be as fast as the wielder. -
It's that "CoroCoro" time of the month again. A leak should be popping up any time now. Obviously, it's gonna have a major section dedicated to Mega Rayquaza, but considering how the magazine usually is, they'll probably reveal at least one other new mega this issue. Please don't let it/them be mega Lati@s, the only thing that could be more dissapointing than last month's issue (all the new megas were ones we were 99% sure would happen anyway) would be an issue where all the new megas were ones we already saw.

Update 17: Grind ALL The Pokemans! (Except one) As said above, recently I’ve been grinding a lot. The level cap is 35, but some of my Pokemon get awesome things at level 36: Strider evolves, Strawberry learns Energy Ball, and Braveheart learns Flamethrower. So I let the Pokes go over the level cap to get their cool stuff, and then brought them back down with Common Candies (and then I let Braveheart evolve). The ones who don’t get cool stuff at 36 get cool stuff at 35: Sassy learns Extrasensory (which I replaced Light Screen with), Apollo learns Buldoze, and Pumpkin learns Reflect. Oh right, Pumpkin. I’m only ever training him up to 35, where he learns Reflect to go with his Light Screen. Later on when I get TMs for weather and Swagger, I’ll teach them to him, and his Prankster ability makes sure he always goes first. So levels don’t matter to him past this point. I never did train Jack, because he’s weak to the next two gyms. Maybe I’ll start grinding him when I’m coming up to Kiki. Anyway, nothing going on story-wise, but I’ll take on Shelly tomorrow. One more thing- I’ve added a list of the team to the first post in this thread, so that it’s easier to tell who I’m talking about when I refer to my Pokemon by nickname.

To answer Notus' question, the Bungee cord isn't "standard" equipment, but Edward brought it because he expected to do some repelling at some point (and not expecting superpowers). Bungee cords, due to their insane strength, are used in rock climbing as well as bungee jumping.- 1735 replies

Update 16: The Orphanage-Shelly’s Gym I never really appreciated how tough that one orderly battle is when you aren’t using a ground type. Strider had changed to a normal type for most of the battle, and he was still taking massive damage! I tried getting Sassy in to use a Light Screen, but she got Parahaxed. I ended up having to switch out, use Apollo as a sacrifice to heal her and cure her of paralysis, and switch back in, the hax was so bad. I then remembered that Strawberry knows Aromatherapy and felt like an idiot for doing what was essentially a waste of money. When I finally beat it, it was time for an equally annoying battle: Victoria. This time, however, I had no qualms in using Strawberry- the one who completely shuts her team down. Except Pignite. Turns out that thing’s Heat Crash will one-shot ALL, YES ALL of my Pokemon. I had to sacrifice Apollo yet again (this just isn't his day lol) to paralyze it and restart until I finally got some hax off of it. Once it was down though, Strawberry easily took down the rest. Next up, the gym. Honestly, did ANYONE ever complete this puzzle without the internet’s help? I know I didn’t, either in my first playthrough or this one. In the gym trainer battles, I noticed that Apollo seems to be lagging behind the rest of the team. That’s kinda sad for him because… Well, I’ll get to that later. Also, there was this annoying Anorith that got the Aincientpower hax literally three times in a row! Today was full of hard battles, and to top it all off, it turns out the Linkstone event doesn’t even appear until AFTER you beat Shelly!

Edward sat cross-legged on top of the wall, watching the scene play out. He until the duel was over, and if the rat won, he'd throw the bungee cord over the side and repel down, and then... well, he actually hadn't planned that out yet. He guessed he would convince the thing to duel him next. So it had a name- or rather an alias. Quickshot Quincy, huh? Edward thought he was beginning to understand this thing. And with this understanding came an idea on how to get it to duel him. Also, the pretty-eyes-cute-girl is Enya. He never was good at remembering people's names, but he'd make sure not to forget that one. Normally, he was a patient guy. He had to be, otherwise he couldn't have gotten a Feebas in his Pokemon Emerald game when he was 10. Oh, and yeah the whole Scout thing helped too, but mostly the Feebas. But now he was getting impatient, not because of boredom, but because of tension. He was hoping they would just start already ((HINT HINT PEOPLE) -
Yeah that's not happening anytime soon. Trevenant is episode 13, I'm on episode 4.

Well, if you live in Europe then there's several events going on where you can get a demo code (it's gonna be the smash bros. demo code rush all over again isn't it?). Still no word on an American demo. You know, that one country that has more 3ds players than all the others combined?

"If this old guy really does lose, it's my turn next" Edward thought to himself. "I have to make a way down there." He could have just flown down, but he didn't want to show his super side just yet. Instead, he looked through his backpack (the fact that this thing was still intact was a superpower in itself!) and pulled out a thick metal spike with a ring on the end. he then drove it into the ground/top of the wall he was standing on. This ended up requiring super strength, but it was pretty unlikley anyone would notice the difference. Pulling out a bungee cord next, he tied it to the ring. When the duel's over, he'd drop the rest of the cord over the side of the wall and repel down. -
It's a weird feeling when others catch onto your ideas. Anyway, is this with or without Expert Mode?

If I understand the description of the barriers right, Edward could interfere as well. Though it would mean blowing his superhuman cover, which he doesn't want to do (yet). Plus, he respects the rules of an honorable duel.- 1735 replies

Update 15: New Sticker-Under the Stairs Not gonna be using Braveheart for awhile, because I just swept the Scolipede sticker battle with her (Fire fang + Moxie). And since she’s a traded ‘mon, she ended up going WAY over the other teammate’s levels. After restocking on supplies from the new floor, I went under the grand staircase. By the way, did I ever tell you how much that place annoys me? I keep having brain farts and going down paths I already went before, and keep having to loop all the way back to the entrance, and all the while there’s those stupid Digletts! They can have arena trap, which means unless you have a flying type Pokemon in the lead, you HAVE to KO it. And even that wouldn’t be so bad if THEY DIDN’T HAVE SUCKER PUNCH. On the bright side, I got a Heart Scale down there, so I got to reteach Swords Dance to DiggersbyTho. As if she wasn’t already enough of a physical attacking powerhouse. Also Ability Capsule, which is cool because there is a specific Pokemon in the future I want to use it on… I tried out the new Swords Dance in the Aester/Eclipse battle and it did not disappoint! Only problem is that I can’t use DiggersbyTho for a while now. Same reason as with Braveheart.

"Okay I take that as a no, then. But I call fighting the winner next!" Edward shouted down. He expected the hellspawn rat to win. -

"How about I do it instead?" Edward, seeing no one had noticed him, "disappeared" around the corner and then walked back into view, pretending to be a normal human. "Think about it, old timer, you're not what you used to be, and whatever your opponent is, it's not natural. You're more likley to lose your own life than to save anyone's. And I may not look it, but I'm a famous shot where I come from (this was actually true, in the Rifle Shooting Merit Badge event, he was the best shot in his Troop. That's not saying much though because most of the rest of his Troop were terrible shots). Let me do it, and the worst that can happen is you lose some random guy who came out of nowhere and you don't care about." Not yet, at least. If this new plan works out, they'll definitley be caring about him in a minute or two. But until then, he HAS to convince the old guy to let him do this instead. -

Yay, it's great to see my girl Rosalina is getting the top tier! I haven't even played the full game yet (meaning I can't play as her yet), and I already know she's gonna be my favorite character. -
Update 14: Lots of choices all at once Up to this point, the team I had was composed of pretty much the only available 6th Gen Pokemon at the time. But once I beat Corey and gained access to the Lapis Ward, it was choices overload (or at least compared to how it was earlier). The Gardevoir wannabe talking Gothitelle finally appears, which means I got the Soul Candle, which means I got a Pumpkaboo. If you’re curious, you get it by bringing a Soul Candle to one of the Pumpkins in the Graveyard during the nighttime. It’s male so I named him Jack (really creative name, I know). Should I train him up or not? And should I grind Apollo yet? In Lapis Ward, I went to the flower shop and got a Spritzee (female, currently unnamed), should I use her over Strawberry? Should I join a Magma/Aqua gang yet, and if so, which one? Wild Espurr live in the Aqua hideout, should I get and train a male one? And most importantly, an event is coming up where I can get a linkstone, should I use it on Strawberry or Jack (or Spritzee)? Well, I decided to train Apollo but not Jack, at least not yet. After looking over stats and movesets, I choose to stick with Strawberry. I’m not going to join either gang until I have to in order to access 7th street, because it was so painful to hear Gossip Gardevoir talk about it and tell me she “didn’t think I was the type”. Not to mention, it adds a new challenge to the game, not being able to get Rain Dance, Sunny Day, or a Bike until much later on. But since I can still run around in, like, 8 tiles of the Aqua Gang alley, I went ahead and caught a male Espurr, naming him Pumpkin after a cat I used to own. And of course, I made sure he had his hidden ability. Not gonna train him up yet though. And I still haven’t decided on the linkstone… Oh, and in the new Opal bridge battles, Strawberry learned Draining Kiss. This is awesome because he can attack just a liiiitle bit stronger now, and the HP regen of it makes him even more insanely bulky!

To me, the deciding factor on wether or not there's gonna be a Delta Emerald is if the Battle Frontier is in ORAS. In both this and previous remakes, Nintendo's made it clear that they always remake EVERYTHING in a game when they remake it. They also always add new stuff, but never take away old stuff. So it's obvious that either there will be a battle frontier in ORAS, or there will be a Delta Emerald with it. And if the frontier is in ORAS, then there really won't be a point in a Delta Emerald, because at this point, they've already included everything else from the origional Emerald.

I HOPE. Because everybody means Milotic too.

Here's some speculation: what if Dragon Ascent is a Dragon-Type Flying Press?
-
Small thing: the "Dragon Ascent" move is called "Finishing Blow" in Japanese. Does that have a source or is it just speculation? If it's just you speculating then you're saying it too matter-of-factly, people might mistake what you're saying for something that's actually happening, and get falsely exited.

But wait there's more! As the truly first mega evolution (eat balls Lucario!) the way Rayquaza mega evolves is different than other megas. I swear, if this means it can carry a held item... Anyway, considering all the stuff and lore and backstory he's getting in these games, it makes me think there won't be a Delta Emerald. Look at Zygarde, X and Y didn't give him anything, but Z obviously will. I'm thinking that they intended to do Delta Emerald at some point, but have by now decided "eh, we'll just throw it all into these first two games." If my theory's right, then mega Milotic BETTER be in this (in Emerald, she's the champion's signature Pokemon).
