  2. I keep seeing ads for the Muppets everywhere, and they keep SAYING the show is sooooo funny, but they actually make it look sooooo unfunny.

  3. To be fair, there's an explaination for this. Most of those major characters are based off of real people, who were all gym leaders in real life.
  4. I kid you not, I've been trying to get a shiny Absol in X for so long, I've found THREE other shinies. An Inkay and two Zangooses.

  5. You think Seel is an uncreative name for a Pokemon? Look at the Japanese names, especially for gen 1. For example Moltres is called simply "Fire".

  8. So I noticed your post in the "lack of player independance" thread, sorry that I didn't think to have Edward react to hearing the sounds of other characters. That was because I assumed that since everyone was in different parts of a vast maze, that they would be completley seperated from each other, at least for the time being. At one point, i even considered having my guy run into some other people by chance but thought that you actually wanted to keep everyone seperated. Anyway, in case you guys were wondering what all his "souvenirs" were: Circle 1: A book that contains all the sins of a dude named "Christopher Weston Chandler". The book makes this guy sound like a complete garbage can of a human being, but maybe that's just because it's listing only the bad and none of the good, so Ed doesn't want to judge too quickly. When he first opened it, a shadow monster came out, but he tore it to shreds and kept the book. 2: A Rose that appears to never wither. Honestly, this one doesn't really have a story to it. They were everywhere, so he picked one up. 3: Containers of Flan-like desert that seem to never go bad. He picked it up as a potential food supply, but only ever ate any of it while in the circle of gluttony. Apparently that's the only circle where he ever needed to eat. 4: Several mishapen lumps of gold. They used to be gold coins, but turns out they had a psychic connection with a dragon who then incinerated Edward. This was, incedentally, where he learned his weakness to extreeme temperatures. Anyway, Kenny was able to sever this mental connection by destroying the coins on a molecular level and putting them back together. The putting back together part didn't go so well, as you can see. 5: A white gi for some sort of martial art, given to him by Akuma who made it sound like it has some sort of connection to the Satsui No Hado. This one's a really long story and I feel like it should be told in the IC thread. It also may play a part in the future. 6: A lottery ticket, that will apparently win the grand prize and make him rich in two year's time. You see, the people of the sixth circle can see the future of earth, but never the present. Edward got this ticket in a deal with a guy named Epicurus, in exchange for a bunch of info on modern science. 7: A slightly curved sword given to him by Atilla the Hun. This one's also a long story. 8: He actually has two souvenirs from the eighth circle. First, he found the tar pit where polititians are boiled, and he knew he had to keep some of the tar for himself because he hates politics. He had to keep it in an insulated thermos, because it is perpetually boiling just like how the rose never withers. That was going to be his souvenir for the circle, but then the fight against Cacus and his pet dragon happened, and he just HAD to keep one of the dragon's scales for himself. 9: Well obviously he hasn't had anything from the ninth circle yet. EDIT: somehow I said "furnace" instead of "thermos". Quite the difference lol
  9. And there she was. Somehow, deep down he knew he couldn't avoid meeting her. Or rater, "her". He didn't doubt for a second that she was (probably) an illusion of the maze. First of all, the last two times they met she tried to kill him on sight. The first time she almost succeded, and the second time he punted her accursed teddy bear to the bottom of a river. The same bear she's holding right now. And there's no way she could have physically keep up with him just now, except if she wasn't even there in the first place. The reason he didn't want this meeting to happen, is because he had no idea how to respond to it. Should he destroy her? Laugh and tell her up front that he knows she isn't real? Pretend like he can't see or hear her? Act as if he was afraid she'd throw another train at him? If he's right and she is just an illusion, then it shouldn't matter what he does. But what about the possibility that she is real? Nah, what he'll do is act like the last two meetings never happened. Act like he did back when she considered him a friend, and hopefully she'll act the same way in turn. "It's because it fears me. I've been moving through it faster than probably anyone it's ever seen, and being a maze it must hate the thought of someone finding the exit in record time." He was on his feet. "I'd love for us to catch up, we probably have a bunch of crazy stories to tell each other, but right now I- er, we need to get moving again." And that meant he had to do something about the spike. It wasn't just stuck, it was frozen over like his fist had become when he tried to falcon punch the wall. He struggled trying to get it out for a bit, but even his superhuman strength could not make the thing budge. Did he have anything that could help get it out? No he didn't think so. He didn't think he had anything to act as a replacement, either. Closest thing was Atilla's blade, but there's no way it would last. The Falcon Punch wasn't a good idea for obvious reasons. Maybe the Supernova? Wait, how about he takes this opportunity to test limits of the illusion in front of him? "Hey, do you think you could magic up something to help me get this thing out? Or better yet, something to replace it?"
  10. I've made it to stage 100 on Latias itemless, but is going to 150 feasible without items? Because if it isn't I shouldn't waste any hearts on a lost cause and get back to coin grinding.

  11. I microwaved a plate for 30 seconds and when I took the plate out there was an ant running around on it. How exactly did it survive? A human's flesh would deteriorate in there after 2 seconds and it was in for 15 times that time

  12. You know that guy in 7th street who trades his Piplup for drugs? After you do the trade his dialouge is the exact same as it is before the trade. That a technical oversight on Ame's part or does it mean there will be more drugs in the future to trade him for more Pokemon?

  13. Update 57: Bennet As mentioned earlier, Bennet is the only trainer in Iolia Valley other than Luna herself, so not much happened of note before I got to him. Actually no, something significant did happen: I caught a Carbink. You may notice that put it in “not yet trained” with Amaura and Shiny Noibat. That’s because if you look at Diance’s Pokedex entry, it says she was once a Carbink that underwent a sudden mutation. I can 98.65% guarantee you that’s how Diance is to be obtained in Reborn, and when I do get her I’m going to use her on my team due to her being the only 6th gen mega in existence. As of now, at least… Anyway, on to the only non-gym leader battle in the valley: Vs Bennet. Since you need Rock Smash to go through Iolia Valley, I needed to sacrifice a slot for Slavetho. My team of 5 against him consisted of Braveheart, Strider, Pumpkin, Strawberry, and of course, Dashie with her Nuclear Trump Card loaded (or I guess you could say unloaded). He led with Larvesta, so I sent Strider and OHKOed it with Smack Down. Yanmega was next, but sorry to say Smack Down only almost killed him. Despite being rock type and not weak to signal beam, Strider was one-shot by the attack since apparently the field boosts it. Pumpkin came out to set up screens, and the increased Special Defense only allowed him to barely survive Signal Beam. I had to sacrifice SlaveTho in order to get Braveheart in, and she proceeded to sweep the rest of his team. That battle started out really intense, but then turned disappointingly easy really quickly. I can’t wait to see what he’s like as an Elite Four member. Since Rock Smash is a forgettable TM in this game, I could theoretically go back, get a better team, teach one of them rock smash, come back to Luna, and replace Rock Smash. But before I do that, let me try Luna with the team I have right now and see how I fare.
  14. Minecraft: Where you can carry 63 more blocks of solid gold, but not that stick.

  15. Update 56: Pre-Luna Preperations After falling for the most obvious trap in the world, going through a stealth section (hey Ame, you should make it that you have your Pokemon taken from you during that section, it’ll make more sense as to why you can’t just beat the guards up), solving what’s probably the most obscure puzzle in the game, and sitting through a cutscene that disappoints in its lack of a climatic boss battle, I’m ready to go back to Iolia valley. The battles in that cultist place were tougher than the ones in 7th street, but the holy field helped me more than it did them. Psychic moves boosted? Sassy, Pumpkin, Strider. Fairy moves? Strawberry and Dashie (as if Dashie’s pixilated attacks weren’t already wrecking balls). Special normal moves? Braveheart has that covered with Hyper Voice. Before I go to the “valley of the shadow of death”, however, there’s even more stuff to do around 7th street that I’ve just unlocked. I fought and defeated that old hag Craudburry, who got one-shot by all my attacks despite having higher leveled Pokemon than anything I have faced in a while. I finally got the TM for Rain Dance from it, and taught it to Pumpkin instead of Misty Terrain. After that I was able to rematch the leader of Team Magma, and boy did the new TM help with him. I then got the TM for Sunny Day from him. I’ve been wanting these moves for a while, and intend to have Pumpkin use one or the other depending on the situation. I can think of a certain gym leader in the future who will make me really glad I have Rain Dance in particular… Anyway, I can also do the Order of the Helix stuff now. That’s why I made a point to get a Helix Fossil earlier despite not being able to use it, because they won’t give you any missions if you don’t own one. I had to make two more exceptions to my sixth gen only rule, to gather the messiah and the slayer of trees. This was so that I could aquire the fossils for Amaura and Tyrunt, who ARE sixth gen Pokemon. I may or may not use Arorus, just like I may or may not use that shiny Noibat. Speaking of Shinies, remember that woman who gives you the Chespin egg? Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll ever use Chesnaught. I used my new Lucky Egg to bring everyone to the level cap, which is something I normally don’t do until I’m just about to face the gym leader. But since Iolia Valley only has one trainer other than her, and since he’s a toughie, there wasn’t much point in me waiting. Oh, and I checked the Beldum event, and it still didn’t work. I guess you have to wait until you’ve beaten Luna.
  16. Not many things could make Edward angry down here. If you hurt or damaged him, his friends, or his stuff, what did it really matter? Next time he or they died, the damage would be undone. But being forced back to the start of the maze, after all the progress he had made, while he was already running behind everyone else? THAT made him angry. "Kenny you idiot, I told you we had to go seperate ways! But noooo, you just HAD to try and one-up me, just like you always have (don't think I didn't notice your sneaky little attempt to steal my dragon kill back when we fought Cacus), and just like every time it ends in disaster! Look how it turned out this time, BOTH of us back at the start again! And this is what, your third time being sent back here? I don't even know what to do now, you may have ruined my entire mission!" He was already up pacing the icy floor, his whole body searing in pain, but he barely noticed. "There's no way I can pull that trick again, and if I did you'll probably ruin everything for the millionth time! How am I supposed to-" and then he heard the humming. "...no. Nope. Nopenopenopenopenope" The voice was headed this way. It was probably an illusion of the maze, since this is the circle of treachery and all. But at the same time, there's a chance it's the real deal. He did not want the source of that voice to reach him, because when- why did he say when? IF it did, he would be forced to make a descision he reaaally didn't want to make. For probably the first time since learning he couldn't permanently die, he was filled with dread. Panicking, he slid his backpack and fumbled through it, pulling out a metal spike. This thing was originally to be dug into the ground somewhere, so as to provide a stable tying point for a bungee cord used for repelling. Up until now, it had largely been useless due to his unexpected ability to fly. But now he had thought of a new use for it. He slung his backpack over his shoulders once more and did that sideways pushy thing again, except this time on his feet instead of lying down, and this time as fast as he could while still maintaining his balance. He was aproaching the wall where he turned right last time. The voice sounded like it was coming from that way, so he had to turn left. Allowing himself to fall backwards he dug the metal spike into the ground on his left side, and the resulting drag pulled his arm back and caused his body to swing wide and slide down the left passageway. It also left a deep gash in the floor, but that healed over in a few seconds. Edward was already long past it, though, and he never noticed. Pushing himself to his feet once more, he kept "skating" like this for about a minute or so, turning haphazardly turning with no real direction in mind, only to get away from the humming. But no matter where he went, he could still hear it. As a matter of fact, it seemed to be getting louder. It was bound to happen eventually: He hit a dead end. As he approached the wall, he did the dig-the-spike-into-the-ground-so-that-I-could-turn thing, except this time to do a complete 180. That particular turn, despite being incredibly fast for most people, seemed to take ages for him to complete. Becasue somehow, he knew that when he turned around, she'd be there.
  17. If I'm reading Serebii's screenshots of next weeks episode right, it seems Serena's gonna take the Eevee she just got in today's episode and shove it into its first battle against Tierno. And remember how much of a badass Tierno's Squirtle was? Well now it's a Blastoise. Chances of victory: not too high.

  20. Update 55: 7th Street Even with the levels back to where they should be, the battles don’t have much to talk about. The only difficulty I had in 7th street was when I fought using the Meowstic siblings, due to how mediocre they’ve become. However, there’s a lot to talk about down here that other than battles. First of all, the move tutors down there gave me something cool: Remember how Apollo had Bulldoze and never used it because it sucked really bad? Well now I was able to replace it with Electroweb! It’s like Bulldoze, except more powerful due to being special and having STAB! Problem is, Apollo is now in the same boat as my two fairies: He only has moves of one type. On a related note, I got the TM for Explosion and temporarily taught it to Jack in place of Trick or Treat, since, you know, Trick or Treat doesn’t work. I also got the Charchoal, finally an item for Braveheart other than the Scope Lens. Next stop, the Nature guy. Remember how much of a physical tank Strawberry is? Well guess what, his nature lowers his defense. I needed that changed ASAP. And while I was at it, I gave Dashie a nature that boosts her special attack, Pumpkin a nature that boosts his defense, and DiggersbyTho a nature that boosts her attack. Then, there’s the whole deal about illegally buying the Pokemon. There are two NPCs selling Pokemon, and one of them is part of the Magikarp quest. He sells you Magikarp for two Blue Shards, but then some weirdo who calls himself “Corin-Rouge” comes in and steals it from you. As of episode 15, this is where the Magikarp quest ends. However, the guy who sold it to you hints that you can find the crook after returning to the city in episode 16. The other salesman sells the Pokemon from the cages in Blackstream Factory. As I mentioned before, you need to buy all of them in order to get the Lucky Egg, and as I also mentioned before, I’ll make an exception for them despite the fact that none of them are sixth gen Pokemon. I of course released them all shortly after buying them. Lastly, I found yet ANOTHER bug: The item it’s referring to is Blackglasses, but I already picked it up. It’ll keep saying it’s there even though it’s not.
  21. Aw come on, what about what Edward did was cheating? Kenny maybe, since he used portals, but Ed didn't go over any of the walls, or try to bend spacetime. Is the fact that he was going really fast what made it cheating?
  22. Super Mystery Dungeon's been out for a few days in Japan now; can anyone tell me (without spoilers) if it's an "explorers" kind of Mystery Dungeon game or a "gates" kind of Mystery Dungeon game?

  25. Fun fact: Smash 4 doesn't have a "Subspace Emissary" kind of mode because Sakurai was upset that Brawl's cutscenes were leaked on Youtube. But guess what Sakurai? Correction he wanted Melee to be his last game. He is really anti sequel apparently.

    4. Rot8er_ConeX

      Rot8er_ConeX

@Trevo - Sakurai actually said during the pics of the day during the pre-release era that he wants the two games (3DS and Wii U) to be considered VERSIONS of the same game. As such, they're both Sm4sh, and the next game will in fact be Sma5h.

@Adamance, Cepheus, Godot - Sakurai knows he is the only one here with the precise mindset required to spearhead a Smash game, but he doesn't want to be known only as "the guy who made Smash".
