  1. Emma is like, the worst liar in the world. And Rean is so dense I am ashamed to be represented by him in the game's world.

      Oh and yes, that bonding event with Rean helping her be girly was sweet. As I said, I find it to be a close call between Laura and Emma for fav love interest. And mind you, Alisa herself is not a bad character by any stretch of imagination but... Most of the prologue was about her. That instantly put me off, so now I cannot bring myself to like her as much.

      Chapter 4 was when I started getting really into the game tbh. Seriously, there's no turning back after this point.

      Welp, I am just about to start that very chapter. We'll see how it goes :D

  2. You know, I would have enjoyed the fanservice-driven swimsuit sequence A LOT more if it hadn't come after a string of 5 cutscenes in a row. Between all the talking and the loading time, I haven't been in control for almost 40 minutes straight. THis is ridiculous.

  3. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-326014503 Weird spectators are weird.
  4. Turns out Fie wasn't Emma's cat. I am a bit disappointed ;-;

      There's so much I could say right now, but I will refrain due to spoilers. Anyways, Fie starts out kind of meh, but she'll be one of your best units by the endgame due to her speed and counters if you really raise her evasion.

      Yeah, I figured as much. I have enough experience with RPGs to recognize the archetypes of the various characters on sight. I am just sad because, between her cat-like habits and the way Emma's cat is shown in the opening, I was expecting Fie to be exposed as some kind of shapeshifter, but at least as of Ch 3 it doesn't look like this will be the case.

  5. Update: I have ultimately decided to run EQ on Rayquaza. Also I am testing the set that Follow suggested for Groudon, which I had forgotten to address in my previous post. And so far I am undefeated in this series of test battles, and my ranking has improved quite a bit as a result. My latest battle (in which I played horridly because it's 1:30 AM and I am sleepy, but I still won, also because once his Groudon and Ho-oh were down, I more or less knew Aegislash was perfectly capable of handling the rest of his team pretty much by itself): http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-325773209
  6. Gaius' post-battle interactions are so funny. The guy is about half a meter taller than everybody else, his model towers above the rest of the party... Particularly funny with Alisia and Fie.

      Just saying it now....it's Alisa, not Alisia

  7. Welcome back! I am SO glad to see you are ok. Believe me when I say, I was so worried after what you said the day that you left :/
  8. Fairy Tail Episode 116: The battle between Gray and Ultear is really well done, easily the best of the arc. It's a pity their relationship was never expanded on, there was a lot of obvious tension between the two, and I think it would have been nive for Juvia to have an ACTUAL love rival...

  9. Fairy Tail Episode 115: Gray silencing Ultear's gloating by punching her right in the face never gets old. After some 100 episodes of her being built up as a major bitch, it feels satisfying to see her get her comeuppance. Specially when you consider what happens next...

  10. Fairy Tail Episode 114: So, it is implied that Azuma had his strongest spell, Terra Clamare, backfire on him because he tried to use Fairy Tail's power to cast it, and it ended up empowering Erza instead of hurting her. My question is: why not stating it outright, instead of just implying it? It would have felt less of an ass pull that Erza won after "discarding all defense", taking two big hits to the face, and still getting up...

  11. Although I dislike how the player never gets to choose what he'll say during social events, I still find Rean to be a very relatable character. In particular, I find it both humorous and realistic how his facial expressions constantly betray his thoughts, causing him great embarrassment. That scene when studying with Emma being the perfect example.

  12. I would like to point out that I didn't post that GIF just for the sake of joking around. In fact, that GIF is the perfect way to explain the point of view of an outsider like myself who, while not capable of the subtle reasoning Hunter has delighted us with, still has something to say on the matter. Donald Trump is a frequently bored, always self-indulgent man who, courtesy of his money, will engage in any given activity (be it a Wrestlemania headliner or a political election) essentially because he can. I am italian, meaning that I've had Berlusconi as my president for 20 years, and now I am in the middle of this new catastrophe called Grillo. While different in political views, background and wealth, both man have something in common: they more or less barged into the political scene with little warning, essentially because they could. So I think I am the most qualified to warn you american people against the dangers of such an attitude: a man who has no clear ideology, and is into things for little more than shit and giggles, is not to be trusted.
  13. My time is very limited, so I will make just a quick post with the main points I wanted to bring up. I hope this addresses everything that has been said, if it doesn't well, cut me some slack. University is a cruel mistress this time of the year, you know. 1) As expected, the Moonblast-Megahorn-Rock Slide set for Xerneas that Sonikku suggested turns out to be the superior one. I am editing the OP with it. 2) Aegislash is way too important for me to ever consider removing it. Particularly when you consider that the suggested alternative is weak to Fairy and I already have two such weaknesses. I am sorry, but I am not so foolish as to consider venturing in Ubers with 3 Pokemon weak to Xerneas and only one able to check it, specially when you consider that the check in question (Groudon) would have, in such a line-up, to take on many other threats that Ttar cannot deal with (Like Mewtwo X) on top of the ones it already has to take on. That would cause way too much pressure to be applied on a single Pokemon, resulting in a less efficent team. 3) I still think you guys are making way too big of a deal of both Ho-oh and Yveltal. In an average ladder session of ten battles, I face the former in six at the very least, and the latter in four or five, and I never have the slightest issue with either, not even if they are together in the same team. Leaving aside strategic considerations, it is a fact that both are weak to rocks, and both are slower than Kanga (with Ho-oh being slower than Rayquaza as well). You could argue that I don't have a "safe switch-in" but firstly, that depends on the move they use (and besides, burn hax nonwithstanding Giratina does count as a reasonably safe switch-in for Ho-oh), and secondly, "safe switch-in" is a concept that has lost a lot of meaning in Gen 6. Besides, Sonikku has not suggested any changes in line-up, only in movesets, so even by agreeing with him the "safe switch-in" issue would still be there. And Ttar is destroyed by Ho-oh's EQ much more handily than Groudon is. So even assuming that this problem was real, you guys are failing to provide a solution. 4) I am still not thrilled at the idea of having one single Fire move in my team. Of course, in most cases that hardly matters, but there are situations in which I miss V-create way too much for my likings. So yeah, I am still iffy about replacing it with EQ, I'll need to test some more before deciding. For now, I am editing the OP with Sonikku's set for Xerneas. Thanks a lot for that.
  14. Both Alisia and Laura remind me of characters from Fairy Tail (Lucy and Erza respectively). Although this might have to do with me playing this game and watching FT in the same period.

      I wasn't talking about Reborn <.<

      If it was just Laura I could forgive you for misunderstanding, but I don't recall Reborn having a character named Alisia...

  15. Knowing you, by the time we get there (well over one year) you will have forgotten everything already
  16. As usual, I am impressed by your ability to come up with what is essentially a plot of your own, starting from scarce information. This is what I wanted to see, it was an entertaining read. What really impresses me tho is the fact that you actually got some things right (and some completely wrong, although your ideas are almost as compelling as our own). Of course, I cannot confirm nor deny anything, but here are some things I would like to say: 1) Yes, Looker is THAT Looker. I would NEVER pull a bait and switch on you guys, given how loyally you follow us. It would be a complete lack of respect, and I respect our followers. 2) No connections to the anime whatsoever. Our plot is completely original and has no ties with any existing Pokemon canon (with Looker being the obvious exception, but even in his case, we are going to give him much more character development than your average game would do). If you are curious about Brigit's name, I will gladly enlighten you: it was chosen specifically to fit a recurring theme we have used in picking the names of most characters, from the baddies announced here to Cat's father. If you don't see the theme, try and search through the topics tagged #TomasElliotPresents 3) A fun little fact: Brigit and another person WILL be fought in a double battle to prevent them from committing a major crime. However, it will happen in the post-game, and the circumstances will be largely different from those you imagined. Still, nice thought process
  17. Fairy Tail Episode 113: the debate is still open to this day. Is the whole Tenrou Tree business a very intelligent plot device, that fits nicely in the whole backstory of Mavis and the island, or is it just an ass pull to have Erza win in dramatic fashion against Azuma?

      Though that entire arc still irks me to this day. I remember back when I was reading it in the manga when it was still in progress over 5 years ago thinking that we would actually see Fairy Tail being utterly thrashed. Kinda disappointed when that didn't happen...

      Mind you, the heroes ARE supposed to win in the end. But the way it was done kinda irked me too. Plus there is another issue I have with this arc, but that is a story for another episode.

  18. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-325129514 I can assure you the stream of hax wasn't nearly as funny for me in that moment <.<
  19. Don't get a-head of yourself now. I am saying this to both Red and Cepheus. We ARE going to deal with the whole concept of crime in a rather mature, realistic fashion (as in, no cartoon-ish mafia or astronauts or eco terrorists or medieval knights or whatever Team Flare are supposed to be, but criminals behaving very similarly to how criminals would behave in real life), but this is still a Pokemon game, never forget that. Elements like fantasy gun control (scroll down until you find the Pokemon example) are still there. Also, may I say that I am more than a bit disappointed by Cepheus? I purposedly slipped in, when writing this e-mail, many elements that one could spot by reading between the lines, that would hint at the existance of a larger backstory behind this whole thing. And there are mentions of a certain "major company", as well. I was expecting Cepheus Logic to find and piece together all such elements, but it would seem he let me down this time ;-;
  20. Lol I knew that those two simple words, "Codename: Looker", would be enough to cause a riot. Indeed, the one and only globe-trotting Interpol elite agent is back!

  22. Exactly one year ago, this was the way I approached Zim. The discussion that was started from these very words soon lead us to sharing our fakemon ideas and from there, the incredible adventure known as Pokemon Se7en was started. I would like to thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart, staffers and fans alike, for making all this possible. I would like to thank Ame, as her forum is what made this fateful meeting possible in the first place. But most of all, I would like to thank Zim: we have had our differences and our problems, our happy times and our sad times, but by sticking together through all that, we have both grown and improved as human beings, and our dream has come to involve and embrace more and more people every day. Here's to many more years together, my friend. As many as it may take to see this incredible adventure through its end, and many many more. Phew, I am getting all teary already, maybe I should move away from the emotional stuff: I believe there was a promise of a big announcement for the anniversary, right? Well, here is a plot twist: there's not going to be anything of the sort. No "the following announcement" banner, no mildly ironic/snarky/trolly comments from the staffers, no new artworks of Pokemon or screenshots of new functionalities or whatever. Instead, what we are going to do is to publicly divulge an e-mail: who sent it, and to whom? And what is the e-mail about? And what does it have to do with the anniversary of this project? Well, read on to find out! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: New assignment in the Graterras region I acknowledge my mission, I shall begin preparations to reach the scene post-haste. To send you my reports, I will be using the usual channels, with the following credentials: ID No.: 1627384973 Codename: Looker
  23. Frankly, I have never felt threatened by Ho-oh. It is slower than both of my physical attackers, and its Def is not that great, so it is easily worn out. The only think it can do against Giratina is hope to burn with Sacred Fire (which is admittedly a very real danger), and I use fully defensive Groudon, so even with EQ Ho-oh should not be able to get past the beast (meaning that I can set SR and roar it out, which will make it MUCH easier to kill next time it comes in). This being said, you are right in saying that my set for Xerneas is not optimal: I will test both of your sets and see which works the best. As far as Rayquaza goes, I am sorry but I would NEVER consider running it without Dragon Ascent. The sheer brutality of that move and the fact that not many Pokemon in Ubers actually resist it makes it just that important to run. Remember, my strategy revolves mainly around wearing opponents down: Dragon Ascent is pretty much guaranteed to kill anything that is below 80% health and doesn't resist it, so yeah, between that and the only-for-Groudon Aqua Tail, I have no doubts. Which leaves us with the eternal debate between EQ and V-Create: the former has better coverage and is not trolled by King's Shield, the latter is more powerful and can beat the occasional Ferrothorn/Skarmory. I will be the first to admit that those two falls aren't NEARLY as common in Ubers as they used to be last gen (again, blame Primal Groudon for that) but... Yeah, I'd rather have more than one Fire move in the team just in case. Although your point in favor of EQ is equally valid, I am not denying that, so I might try switching around the two moves and seeing how it goes. This is all. Thanks for the Xerneas' sets, I had honestly forgotten about Megahorn, I instantly went for CC because of Dialga and Steel Arceus, but well, I do have outs to those, so maybe the Moonblast-Megahorn-Rock Slide set could be the best one.
