    Deciding that the dorm rooms could wait, Ryan strolled outside and began doing his daily workout right outside the dormitories in hopes that someone would come by to relieve him of the responsibility that he had placed on himself. Every 10 or so sit-ups, Glacien would use Water Gun to fire some cold water for Ryan to quench his thirst. He was hoping perhaps the boy with the Ralts that he had ran into would come by as he never truly got the chance to talk to him. He thought about what might occur at the 6:00 assembly at the Contest Hall, and how he might run into some of the people he's already met.

    Ryan came to a halt right outside the building that was marked as the Boy's Dormitory. Almost out of breath, he slowly made his way through the door and fell against the wall. Glacien was kind enough to dig an apple out of Ryan's backpack to make him feel better. He sat in silence, eating the apple, waiting for some assistance on how to find his and James' dorm room.

    Ryan was excited to know that he could finally make friends with someone easier! Being with someone in the same dorm solves that problem. "Sure man, race 'ya to it!" In the blink of an eye, he grabbed Glacien and dashed off towards the Northeast end of campus.

    "My key says 202, who knows, maybe our dorms are nearby?" Ryan stopped to look at the map to ensure he was going in the right direction, feeling guilty for leaving Jacob so soon and pondering about the boy with the Ralts. He shook it off, telling himself he'll see them at the Contest Hall later for sure.

    Seeing that James was walking away, Ryan dashed over to him. "Hey man! What dorm are you in?"

    Ryan swung around and accidentally dropped a couple of blue pokeblocks out of his pocket. Before he could react, Glacien leapt out of his arms and snatched all of them up, taking no time to savor the flavor. "Whoops. S'up man, the name's Ryan. Seem like Teo and Glacien both have quite the chompers on 'em! Maybe they were Snorlaxes in a past life! What program are you here for? I'm here to be a trainer."

    "Damn! All these people have shiny pokemon!" Ryan hugged Glacien to reassure him that he was definitely beyond special. Ryan noticed that the boy with the Ralts had yet to notice his presence. He lightly tapped on his shoulder, hoping not to startle him.

    Ryan wore a puzzled look on his face. "Never head of him, I hate to say." He bent down and let Glacien roll straight into his arms. Glacien nuzzled into Ryan's chest and then suddenly shot an interested look towards a trainer seemingly alone with a Ralts. Ryan, picking up on his Spheal's sudden interest, glanced at the trainer and his pokemon. "Perhaps we should meet that guy over there?" He patted Glacien on the head before swaggering over in a failed attempt to exude bravado, hoping James was following behind.

    Ryan heard footsteps approaching him and made a complete 180 to see who it was. He studied the boy from top to bottom, making sure this person would make a suitable friend in the long run. "Oh, hi James. The name's Ryan. WOW! Is that a shiny duskull? Damn, that's really cool. What's its name? My Spheal here is Glacien."

    Seventh in line, Ryan sat, snickering at a joke he remembered from yesterday as the gates had opened. He stepped forward, walking toward the 7th desk, and quickly slipped his paper onto the desk with a huge grin on his face. He patted Glacien on the head as he rolled around excitedly.

    I don't know if it was specifically said, but from logic you could create a theory. Seeing as the champ in gen 1 was your rival, you beat him and become champion. The character, Red, in gen 2 is presumed to be the playable character from gen 1. Seeing as he seemed to have secluded himself on Mt. Silver, Lance would be brought up to Champion seeing as he was highest up.
