  1. not that, if you think about it that cage is flimsy (at best) and your Pokemon have moves to break something like that easily (cut for example) not to mention fire moves. P.S. Almost forgot my opinion on the topic: it would be cool yes but Ame has already a ton of work for e16 so maybe later? It is not a "critical" improvement so it can wait imo.
  2. This scenario is already happening, right now we have technologies that could easily destroy the world (the atomic bomb for example) and somehow we're still alive, like someone already said regulations will be made (just like always)Ninjed
  3. Thank you all for your answers people (even the negative ones) i'm surprised at the fact that this idea doesn't get as much opposition as i thought it would (and that some actually support it like i am). Still i want to remind you that while these "upgrades" can be dangerous and certainly will be used to do bad things they can do good too (so that balances things a little) anyway i'm not trying to change your point of view so if you have some (constructive) critique and concerns feel free to express them.
  4. Whatever you want, literally, be it entertainment (so yes playing videogames is a serious answer) or scientific discovery, or learning everything you wanted but didn't have the time for or even exploring the universe to see it's beauty, or...exc exc. After you did all this (and lived a VERY long and interesting life) you can go to sleep to awaken after 1000 (or more) years to experience something new but all this talk about "eternal life" is distant future stuff in the near one the best we'll probably get is an extended life and a more resistant body what's bad about that?
  5. I'm not sure if this is the right place for a topic like this (if not please move it) but let's begin. Recently i finished Shadowrun: Hong Kong and one of the NPC (Racter, my favorite) was "obsessed" with this (controversial for someone) idea so i thought about asking everyone what they think about it. For those of you who don't know what this 'movement" consist of here's an (incomplete and noobish) explanation: The "goal" of transhumanism is to enhance and eventually transform humans into "better" life forms via bioengineering or cybernetics (or other means i know nothing of) to overcome our natural limitations. If you played or know of Deus Ex you basically get the picture (even though that game "explores" only one of the possible paths). Now (if you want of course) tell me if you agree with this idea (or not) and why...ah another thing! If you have a better "explanation" please write it and i'll edit my post. P.S. Almost forgot to state my opinion: I'm all for it (the sooner the better) why? Because i want my cool cyberarms...no but seriously i see only benefits in making ourselves "better" and yes of course there will be risks and accidents but that's normal when a totally new technology comes out, the cost of such upgrades will be prohibitive (at least at the beginning) but hey it was the same with PC, the "moral" aspect of it doesn't concern me in the slightest, it will happen (if we don't destroy ourselves first like Racter said) and nothing should stay in the way of progress (this is of course my personal opinion).
  6. How i missed this till now? That's what i get for visiting only certain parts of the forum...anyway i wanted to say only one thing: respect
  7. Shadowrun Hong Kong: so good but so many bugs

    1. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Eh... bugs aren't too big an issue unless they are gamebreaking imo lol. Also, quite a few games are riddled with bugs etc and are grea.t ~((any Elder Scrolls game that's ever existed.))~

    2. AuthorReborn

I'm with you there. Sometimes when Izzy is going into the Matrix I question if the Matrix will load at all.

    3. Gaunt

      Gaunt

during my playthrough i encountered only 1 (Partially) gamebreaking bug (had to restart the mission and choose a different "approach" but still managed to go on (the rest were minor things), i think i'll replay the game when they make the director's cut

  8. No explosions this time but there's a gruesome death so that's a plus...wait a minute...*looks at his magma member of the year award* you killed one of us! Vengence will come just wait for it seriously though watch out for our leader he's stronger than he looks ...also #freedobby
  9. You do have a point...ok no more bible citations from me only logic and common sense.
  10. So in your opinion i should read a text i fell asleep with only to be able to discuss with a theist? Can't i use other sources? Also i don't ask them to read atheists works so i expect the same treatment in return...but wait there's more! I believe that every religion is false/wrong so following your proposition i should also read every "sacred" text from every religion there is...wow i'm sure i'll enjoy every bit of it...nah i think i'll pass on that and continue being bias and ignorant but without the need to lose entire years of my life just to be more informed about something i find not true.
  11. Did you miss the second part? I tried to read it
  12. Ok let's make an example: you enter a cemetery and see an open mausoleum with the body/bodies inside missing...the place doesn't seem looted...what is your first thought on what's happened? Resurrection? Probably not...but this is the "situation" you are describing....ah yes forgot to add: after some time 500 people (that you don't know and never met) told to the press that they saw the person buried in that mausoleum walking around...what is your first thought this time? I didn't know that other disciples (beside Judas) betrayed him...hmm that rises a question though: how did this "new" religion spread so fast and what did the other disciples do? For the record i did read only a "short" version of the bible plus all the parts in which the book contradicts itself (like a good atheist should) so yea i don't know the book in it's entirety but i know it well enough (for my needs), honestly i tried to read the entire thing MANY times but it was (really, no offense) not interesting enough to keep me going (i always fell asleep after 10-15 pages). as we can both see our points of view on this matter are incompatible so i have another question. When (some time ago) i asked about your opinion on extraterrestrial life you said that it is possible right? so my question is: doesn't this conflict with the "belief" that we are (supposedly) the "chosen" creation of god?
  13. The season finale was epic (the intro too). For a moment i though you meant your Pokemon with that title and don't worry all my emotional support goes to you
  14. Aaand i'm back (sorry for the late reply but i was busy with work) with my answers: 1) About the "disregarding" thing: we already had an argument in our previous discussion so let's not repeat it again here ok? 2) About how i perceive the bible: you are aware that i'm atheist right? So what answer did you expect from me? Knowing my point of view it's obvious i would respond in that way. Sure some passages of the book contain (relatively) accurate historical data (we know that because other sources confirm it) but so can a novel (set in "ancient times") does it mean whatever written in that novel is true? No it isn't. We can both make some small/non critical concessions to better understand the opposite point of view sure but in the end it's pointless as they are directly opposite from each other and i'm pretty sure neither of us will "give up" what he/she thinks is true. I can promise you one thing though: if after death i'll end up in hell i'll send you a letter with my apologies ok? Now i's like to address (part of) your last post (if you're still willing to talk to me that is) and say that if you look at the probabilities practically everything Mael said is more likely to occur than a "supernatural" phenomenon simply because (as Jericho previously mentioned) we have several (confirmed and documented) cases of those and none of a "resurrection". Let's pass to the three points now: 1Q) Who is the grave robber? 1A) Really? No seriously really? Do you think we know everything that happened 2000 years ago? Nope, so why do you think there should be traces or documents left to confirm a "grave robbery" happened so many years ago? The good thing is that even if not confirmed it is still more likely to have happened than something "supernatural". 2Q) Guards asleep 2A) Same as 1A 3Q) 500 people "saw" him after death 3A) Let's say that the prophet of a new fresh religion suddenly died, his disciples still want to spread "his word" but need something to give it a boost...what can they come up with...hmm...oh i know! They can ask other people to lie for them (or disguise as him or...the list goes on) and "create" a myth about his resurrection...tada! New acolytes and converts join said religion (DISCLAIMER: all characters and events in this story even those based on real people are entirely fictional, thanks South Park)). If a serious answer is required see 1A
  15. Congratulations to you both
  16. Why do they need the gems to destroy "the heart of Reborn"? Maybe they'll just blow up the Grand Hall
  17. And i replied that it is "unfair" to cite the parts of the bible that support your point of view while "disregarding" the explicitly wrong ones as "poetical narrative". If i use the same approach i can say that i consider the parts you are citing (or even the entire book) as "poetical narrative" (which i do btw)
  18. As those doors (probably) contain Legendaries we'll get to them post game i think
  19. The second one...well in part, i'm saying that the author took for granted/true things that we now know are 100% false (remember that long list i pulled from that atheist site? That one)
  20. It isn't accurate precisely because there are many errors in it...and this is going nowhere (exactly like last time)...hey we have free will right? Then my free will is to wait for a logical answer not a supernatural one. The End
  21. Let me get this right...wait for it...wait for it...now you took one thing from the bible, crunched in some numbers and called it a 100% confirmation that god created the universe, to this i have 2 answers: 1) If it is so perfect and definitive why there are so many other theories about it? If it's really true why it is not a commonly accepted fact in the entire world? 2)"please don't use this source because i don't personally believe it to be accurate" is exactly what you said to me when i was trying to argue the fact that genesis (among others) contained many inaccuracies and false information
  22. Ahh...Hilda you are citing the bible again while i explicitly said i do not consider it to be accurate and that is why i think there is not enough proof to support your theory, you can be happy with your answer now i will wait.
  23. Oh are we going to start again? Ok then...round 2 FIGHT! Of course the universe exists, we can see it around us and we can measure the matter of which it consists in every possible and imaginable way, can you say the same for god? You are of course right in saying that the creation/beginning of the universe is not explained by science (only theories exist) but you forgot to add the most important word: "yet" it has not been explained for now (it's only a matter of time). Now you want me to (metaphorically speaking) believe that a "supernatural" phenomenon is the answer to said question without providing any tangible (measurable and verified by various sources) proof, like i stated earlier the bible (for me) is not it (again, for reasons stated earlier), in this case logic dictates to (at least) wait for said proof (from either side) before making a decision on the matter, add in the fact that most "supernatural" occurrences considered before to be "miracles" or "divine signs" have now been explained by science and in the end the "biblical" version of the beginning amounts to nothing more than a theory (of which there are plenty). About "miracles": i didn't try to prove anything, i just find "strange" (as in suspicious) that all those "miraculous" things that (supposedly) happened so long ago don't happen in our time...like really nothing...but we already had this discussion did we not?
  24. No one here is named Guant there is one fellow named Gaunt though...he says hi btw^_^no but really is my name so difficult? It's not the first time someone says it wrong. On other matters now: Like i promised in my previous post i'll try to convert you all to atheism explain to all why i don't believe in the existence of gods. From what i know the only "proof" believers have is an old book filled with many contradictive (or sometimes outright false) information about our world (no surprise here as people at that time were not very good at science) so it is not reliable in any way. Another thing that irks me is that in the bible you read about "divine intervention" and "miracles" at every corner but in our world today nothing of the sort happens, if you ask yourself "why" the most direct and logical answer (of course it doesn't mean that it's correct but still it's the most probable one) that there is no one to "do" those "miracles" (and let's not mention that the existence of a "being" with infinite power is simply impossible). To conclude: sadly i can't prove that god doesn't exist, the bright side is that unless another "divine intervention" (on a world scale) happens believers can't prove their point either but still my ramblings can demonstrate that at the very least his "existence" cannot be confirmed and in these types of scenario i always choose the most plausible "answer". P.S. the "train dilemma" was cool...also i found that i'm probably a psychopath (i chose 1 for both answers)
