  1. Mistless Peaks Dru nodded, having listened carefully to Shard. "I see that I still have much to learn, Shard. It takes a truly wise mind to teach so much in so few words." The sorcerer looked sincerely at Shard. "Thank you, friend. But why, pray tell, did you bring me here?"
  2. I think the Grumman's kobolds (like the ones in Graterras) would fit in best given the dominance of mammalian life in this world. They could be relegated to scavenging in the Wasteland and southern continent.
  3. Username: Jory Human/Poke: Human (Alex) Reserved Poke: Minccino (Rascal) Preferred Specialty: Wherever you need me <3 Personality: Never rushes into things. Prefers to come up with a plan, then put it into action. When he is surprised by something, it often catches him off-guard due to his need to plan meticulously.
  4. Would I then be able to be a human who has a pre-existing Pokemon partner?
  5. Mistless Peaks The half-Orc chuckled. "Here for a friend, are you? I'd ask you to tell me more, but if you wanted to then I'd already know." He paused for a moment, considering Shard's other question. "In all my years traveling Graterras, I have been asked the magnitude of my power and how it works. Never before has someone inquired as to how this power was acquired. And the simplest answer is, it wasn't. I am a Sorcerer, Shard. It was no coincidence that I found my way to the Shattered Hills. When my abilities began to manifest, I knew the only chance I would have to tame them would be to do so alone. And so I trained my body and my mind to be in tune with the Earth. Rather than being handed my power by Tectaniteus, I had to earn mine. Only by becoming one with the Earth was I finally able to control this magic. It took years of intense physical strain and meditation to achieve this level of power. And the most troubling thing is that I fear when it comes time to face down the Gentleman once more, I will still be too weak do do anything about it."
  6. 1. All races seem good to me. 2. There are enough normal races. 3. I wouldn't even know where to start creating a race.
  7. Didn't play for a couple of months and then I did this:
  8. Mistless Peaks Dru eyed the other peak warily. The stone elemental in front of him seemed to know who he was. The sorcerer was nonplussed given their apparent location. After all, he was the topic of numerous local legends, most notably as an adviser to chieftains. Something about him being a traveling sorcerer tended to make people believe he was some form of wise man. He returned his attention to the elemental. "Some call me Earth-Shaker, yes. Some call me Stone-Caller. And still others call me Half-Bred Scum. But, seeing as you have chosen to appear in my dreams, you likely already know that. What shall I call you?" he replied, raising his hands. He dropped them to the ground in a thrusting motion and stomped both his feet, causing a pillar of earth to shoot up under him, sending him flying toward the other peak. He controlled his flight, sailing through the air with his cloak behind him, his arms spread, and his legs bent under him. As he landed on the other peak he softened the earth underneath him, allowing his momentum to transfer harmlessly into the ground. He then walked nearer the elemental, sitting cross-legged in front of it.
  9. As these are very large masses of land, there will likely be different dialects for cities/regions. Just a thought. EDIT: I would also like to be added.
  10. I'd be sad to see Aervana go. That being said, there seems to be little (if any) interest in actively pursuing that RP, as that entire last bossfight was a back-and-forth between Flux and myself (featuring Marissa). I'd be more interested in this if it weren't the death sentence for Aervana.
  11. Jory let out a sigh of relief as Clemont appeared. He hadn't meant to escalate the situation, but he was glad that he'd stuck to his guns and defended Kenny. "No problem. Now let's see who won that contest."
  12. Jory looked from Erick to Enyo and then at Surge in a panic. They're all gonna rip each others' throats out if someone doesn't intervene. Then, Kenny spoke up. Jory was impressed by the other cadet's courage. It took a lot to stand up to Erick, especially with the knowledge of who his father was. He backed me up earlier. Now it's my turn to return the favor. Jory stepped up next to Kenny, his GAOs following suit. "Erick, just listen to someone for once! Kenny's right. If our CO wants to speak to you privately, then you'd better go and do just that. None of us are enemies here! We all share a common goal, and you calling Enyo out like that didn't do anything except provoke her. We're supposed to be a squad," he said, lowering his voice toward the end. "We're a family. We take care of each other no matter what because in the thick of battle no one else will. Each member of this squad is all that may stand between you and death one day on the battlefield. And when that happens, do you want Enyo to remember your petty one-upmanship or Surge to remember what an insubordinate little shit he thought you were in training?" He paused for a moment to let that sink in. "We're like sticks, Erick. One of us can be snapped easily. But all of us together are unbreakable. So suck it up and get to the med bay. I may not be able to beat you when it comes down to a battle, but I'll die and come back again before I let this squad tear itself apart."
  13. Dru breathed a sigh of relief was he was informed of the true nature of the school. It wasn't that he hated wizards in particular. He just thoroughly disapproved of the way they tended to group up and exclude others seeking knowledge of the arcane. "Good. I would be more than happy to join all of you in going. I am interested in seeing more of this 'Spellcaster's School'."
  14. Dru frowned. A school? Probably a wizards' school Those stiff-necks don't even know what it is to truly wield magic. He looked over to Abraham. "Sir, please tell me this isn't a wizards' school."
  15. Learning more about my Jewish identity in a college level course was moist dolphinately the right decision.

  16. Dru watched Sigurd burst into laughter only to see Xavier and Nero talking to a Grumman's kobold. I haven't seen one of those in ages. I wonder what he's doing here in Nevermore? the sorcerer asked himself. Then, Sigurd mentioned something about Odin's table. "I'm sorry, but I wasn't quite paying attention. But if something important is afoot, we should go make sure we're informed about it, correct?" the half-Orc asked the templar rhetorically. With that, Dru excused himself, sliding out of the booth. "Are you coming?" he asked impatiently, gesturing toward the dwarf's table.
  17. Flux, can we get Chapter 2 finished up please? AFAIK, nobody else plans to post until that thing has been brought down.
  18. Jory's jaw dropped as the sea serpent was released from its capsule. It was far and away the largest new GAO, and may as well have had a "Certified Badass" sticker pasted onto its forehead. The cadet turned to Kenny. "That only means she can't win a prize. If she wants to show off her new GAO, well... I think she's deserved it. Nice going, Greyjoy," Jory said calmly, smiling at Enyo for the last part.
  19. Jory gaped at the bird that Nathan had caught. Not only was it large, it was also badass to the extreme. The cadet marveled at it for another moment before smiling and reaching down to his belt. "I know I wasn't a part of the bet, but I caught someone too. Alright Oliver, come on out!" he said quickly, pressing the button on his new GAO's capsule. There was a flash of light, and suddenly the reptilian GAO was standing on the ground next to Nefertiti. He stood up on his hind legs and crossed his arms, carefully inspecting the other cadets' GAOs. "Vyle!" he said excitedly, looking up at Jory. His trainer nodded. "You're a part of the team now." Jory turned to the other cadets. "This is Oliver, my newest friend. He's not the biggest, but he's certainly got the skills to fit in here." The GAO nodded in assent and appeared to smile at the praise.
  20. I'll probably end up with a Trapinch next. I figure it's better to spoil it than get it taken by accident.
  21. Jory frowned and pressed the button on Neffi's capsule. She looked up at Jory worriedly and nuzzled his leg. The cadet smiled down at his GAO and scratched her on the head just behind her right ear. He then looked up at Lionel. "It's Sampson. He got cut up pretty badly by a swarm of those huge bee GAOs. Even after he went down, we were able to fend them off thanks to Oliver and Kenny's GAOs." Neffi looked up at Jory, eyeing him carefully. Her trainer was quick to retort. "I was getting to you. Bragging really doesn't become you, Neffi." The GAO snorted derisively and lightly butted his leg. Jory sighed and turned back to the other cadet. "Neffi also did a great job. She helped take down the queen." Nefertiti nodded proudly, confirming her trainer's tale. Now that Sampson's being taken care of, we should head back to the gate. I want to see who won the contest!" With that, Jory began moving toward the gate, beckoning the other cadet along.
  22. Enyo shouldn't be too hard for me to beat because Neffi is the strongest GAO here gg seeing as I (will) have a Nidoqueen that can feasibly learn Thunderbolt and Earthquake.
