  1. "Thank you," Lux said as he took their invitations and led Beverly into the party. He scanned to his left and right, not noticing anything particularly out of the ordinary. "Nothing in particular is setting me off, Bev. How about you?" he asked discreetly as he steered the couple toward the groups of people talking on the lawn. If we're going to find anyone, we need to mingle. The bar might be a good place for that, he speculated, reminding himself to check that area later in the evening. For now, it seemed as though the bulk of the party was still outside. And where there's people, there's talking, he said to himself as he awaited Beverly's reply.
  2. Jacob nodded at everything the Professor said, taking his red Pokedex out of his pocket. He opened it and, when prompted, entered his student ID. The main light on the device blinked a couple of times, and then his trainer information page showed up on the screen. Balance... 100 BP. Everything's in order. I should battle someone for a little extra BP later. After all, I'll probably need it soon. The young Trainer smiled and scratched the back of Teo's head. The Trapinch made a satisfied gurgling noise, causing his Trainer to giggle. "Teo, shh!" Jacob said, stifling his laughter.
  3. You didn't miss it. It's the 28, so you're still good in EST. Thanks to everyone for posting here! It means a lot to me
  4. Jacob nodded. "Sure thing! We need to watch the presentation though." With that, he looked up at the stage, ready for the presentation to begin.
  5. Jacob arrived at the Contest Hall, looking up at the facade in awe. The building was an extremely impressive work of architecture the likes of which simply did not exist in Accumula Town. It seemed to be styled similarly to the famous Castelia City Contest Halls where many a renowned Coordinator had made appearances. "Wow..." the young Trainer muttered as he approached the front doors, Teo walking lazily behind his Trainer. The two made their way up to the upper viewing area and, upon spotting Ryan and Kage, walked over to them and took a seat next to Ryan. He chuckled as he looked over at Kage's sleeping form. "He had a long day. What about you?"
  6. I want to play this week. I compiled a list of Pokemon we CAN use. Later I'll post ones I think are viable with sets.
  7. What about moves that hit more than once, such as Tail Slap?
  8. Jacob briefly considered following Devin into the forest, but decided against it. After all, if Devin said it was dangerous, he was probably right. However, he took a moment to gape in awe as the Dragon master's Haxorus made short work of the gate into the forest. Dang... he thought to himself. I don't know if Teo will ever be that strong, but I want him to be fast anyway. He shook his head and put Teo down before beginning toward the Contest Hall, beckoning for the Pokemon to follow. "Come on, buddy. Let's head over to the Contest Hall and make sure we get good seats. From what I've heard, Redwood's welcome address is something that we shouldn't miss."
  9. Jory panicked, immediately grabbing Neffi and diving out of the way of the huge tail. "Keep firing, Oliver!" he shouted as debris and shrapnel showered the earth around him from the barely avoided impact. "Whatever that thing is, it sounds angry! We need to figure out a way to beat it fast. Kenny, we're gonna need Ryu for this one," he began, devising a plan in the hopes of keeping the group alive long enough for help to reach them.
  10. Jacob took off after Devin. A fire? he asked himself, confused as to what its source might have been. He'd never really experienced anything being on fire before. The Accumula Town Fire Department did an excellent job of keeping most domestic fires under wraps, and many people kept Water-type Pokemon around the house anyway. As the Trainer ran with Teo in his arms, it occurred to him that Kage might have trouble following him. Doesn't matter. He can take care of himself. If they need my help, then this will be infinitely more important.
  11. Lux grinned at Beverly, the woman's black dress going very well with the young man's fitted black ssuit with a slim black tie and a white collared shirt. Simple yet elegant, he thought to himself, glad he'd picked such attire for the situation. He looked at the woman again. "You know, just because we're here on business doesn't mean we can't have fun while we hunt down that official. Let's head inside," he said to his partner, leading her toward the well-guarded entrance to the grounds. Hopefully Cedric had taken care of his end and they would have no difficulties getting into the event.
  12. Jacob smiled at Drake's praise of his Trapinch. "Thanks! We've been training really hard to get here, and now that we are we're gonna keep up the good work! Hopefully by learning more from you and the other teachers, Teo and I will become the strongest team here!" He paused, looking the Dragon master over once more. "Drake, do you raise anything but Dragons? I know that by the time I'm done here, I wanna raise a whole team of Pokemon who aren't Dragons. Man, it would be so cool to train a Milotic or even a Clefable!" He looked up at the teacher again. "Do you have any advice for me as far as raising Teo? I know we're supposed to take your class to learn that, but I want him to get strong, so I need to know everything!"
  13. Jacob smiled proudly as the renowned Trainer praised Teo. "Thanks! We've worked really hard so far, and coming here means that I'll be able to help my best friend be the best that he can be!" Jacob said excitedly. His expression changed to a thoughtful one when Devin asked him about Kage. He asked me to cover for him, so I'll definitely do it. He cautiously began to answer the teacher. "Kage is my roommate, and I think we're gonna be good friends. He's a really nice guy who has a lot of pride. But it's the good kind that self-motivated people possess, not the bad kind. He's from Mossdeep City. Isn't that cool? I wish I lived somewhere a little warmer," he said quickly, trying to change the subject.
  14. Lux got out of the car, scanning the area as he emerged from the vehicle. So far so good... he thought to himself as he took a step forward, watching Beverly disembark the car. He gestured for her to link arms with him. "Remember, our mission is to find the official and press him for information about the new government program that's looking into the Pillar. We need to get access to any information they have about it. Let's keep a low profile. The last thing we want is to advertise the fact that we're Awakened." He looked toward the house, noting the military-looking men guarding the entrance. "We don't want to run into any trouble here. We're outgunned."
  15. Jory crept up behind Jake, shocked at the Mudkip's amateurish behavior. She's gonna get us all in trouble! he thought to himself, wondering how any good could possibly come of the Mudkip's action and anxiously watching the Servine for a sign that it had noticed the group.
  16. Jacob was left standing awkwardly as he watched Kage dash off. He turned to the man with red hair, who had a definite air of authority about him. The teenager realized he hadn't introduced himself yet and hurried to rectify the situation. "Oh! Hello, sir! I'm Jacob Robertson. I'm a new student here, in the Trainer program. He pointed toward his Trapinch, who had become curious about the contents of his Trainer's tray. "And that hungry fella is Teo. It's short for Teotlatl, an ancient desert deity!" He stopped speaking abruptly, realizing he'd begun to babble.
  17. Can confirm that North American cafeterias are large rooms, typically with multiple serving stations and no table service.
  18. Jacob nodded. "Of course. Let's go." The pair headed to the cafeteria, where Jacob got in line and got his food relatively quickly. Despite the fact that it was the first day, the people working behind the counters knew what they were doing and were able to serve the lines quickly and with few issues. After filling his tray with food, the teen exited the cafeteria and, seeing Ryan, took a seat at his table. "Hey, Ryan, glad we ran into you here." Jacob began picking at his food, waiting for Kage to arrive before beginning to tuck into the main portion of his meal.
  19. Streak broken Q~Q

  20. Jory shrugged, a bit confused by the presence of the Servine after he followed Jake up to the next floor. He looked at his partner with concern. "Are you sure you don't want an Oran Berry? You look like you're about to collapse."
  21. Having followed them outside, Jacob nodded after a bit of consideration. He's proud, I'll give him that. And that's going to make him a tough trainer for sure. I'd definitely want him on my side in a battle. He quickly realized his mistake. "I'll keep my mouth shut. But I think you've gotten the hang of taking care of yourself. I respect that a lot." Jacob smiled and turned to Ryan. "I wouldn't worry about it. I was close enough to the truth. It wouldn't have been much longer before I realized." He paused, glancing down at his stomach. "But I'm really hungry. I haven't eaten all day. What do you guys say to going and grabbing a bite to eat?"
