  1. Hey guys, I'd like to know your thoughts on petitioning Ame for a real reward for winning (other than some bs Hall of Fame entry). We all worked hard for the Season One victory and it kind of irks me that the only recognition we have gotten so far is having our names in a list in an obscure thread. Possible ideas that have been thrown in include: 1) Rupees 2) Ace Membership for those of us who do not have it already and are eligible. 3) Custom member title (something like "PokeNations Champion") 4) Custom sprite shop item (such as a trophy to make your sprite hold). Thoughts?
  2. Jacob laughed in Slade's face as the other teenager berated him for not waiting on Danielle. "If I weren't planning on waiting, Teo and I would be long gone by now. After all, I want to find a new member of my squad! Someone who can handle the Ice-types that'll get thrown Teo's way, but who can also kick some serious Steel- and Grass-type butt. Hmm... Maybe a Fighting-type would be good! Or even another Ground-type like Nidoking!" Jacob said excitedly, completely geeking out over the prospect of being able to catch a new Pokemon in the famed Dragon tamer's garden. He then turned to Danielle. "By the way, Devin said that most of the Dragon-types here are his. That means those Altarias-" he said, pointing to the ones flying overhead, "and that Flygon, and stuff like it," he mentioned, pointing out the Flygon that had taken off with Calude on its back. Teo watched it soar in awe, wiggling his in an imitation of the Flygon's wings. "I think the younger first-stage Pokemon are all up for grabs. So let's head into the forest. Stick close, though. We don't want to get caught alone if we manage to draw the ire of one of the older ones," he cautioned. "A lot of Dragon-types are highly territorial." With that, he began walking across the field, being extremely cautious about where he stepped so as not to fall into a pit like Claude had.
  3. Jacob grinned like a madman as Devin led them out to the pond in his garden. The area was beautiful, Hell, there was even a certain desolate beauty to the battlefield, which was littered with pitfalls and the occasional seemingly random gout of fire. The young Trainer pressed the release button on Teo's ball, calling him out. His Trapinch looked up at him expectantly, then began to take in his surroundings. Teo gurgled in joy at the sight of the battlefield, which he immediately attempted to run toward. Luckily, Jacob was able to catch him before he got too far out into the dangerous area. "Teo, no!" he said sternly. "That place is really hazardous. Let's take a detour around it and into that forest," he said calmly turning around to look for Slade and Danielle. Once he spotted the two, he beckoned them over. "Come on, guys! We're losing daylight here and I want to catch a new Pokemon!" he shouted excitedly. He then turned and looked toward Devin Cadmus, also known as 'The Coolest Person Ever to Walk the Earth.' He sighed in admiration. The way he commands the respect of people and Pokemon alike is the mark of a powerful Trainer. I want to beat him one day. Then I'll have proof that I'm a top-tier competitor!
  4. Done posting for tn. Unfortunately the room I'm sleeping in at my grandparents' house is the only room in the house with neither wifi nor cell reception. Til tomorrow, I bid you all adieu.
  5. I move to table this thread for discussion for another 6 months. The RP forum here is still young and a lot of people are still learning how to RP. This requires everyone involved to be on their toes at all time and, most importantly, to recognize the delicate balance between changing background information and going with what others have posted. I don't think we have enough people who are "expert level" RPers, and therefore this could run into a lot of problems before it has a chance to become popular. I'm all for the idea, but NOT YET.
  6. Suddenly, Jory! It's gonna be Mael next.
  7. Jacob nodded. "Chalchi could use some fixing up, although I can't say I'm happy that her Water Gun wasn't powerful enough to knock Flare away. Tomorrow I'm going to start her on an extreme power training regimen. No Water-type of mine is going to be beaten by a Fire-type again, that's for sure," he said sincerely, already thinking of ways to train his Lapras. He began to walk away from the fields and toward the nearest building with a healing machine, beckoning for Slade to follow. "D'you think we should tell everyone else where we're going? Or do you think they'll put two and two together?"
  8. Chalchi gave a cry as she was bitten, slumping to the ground. "Great job, Chalchi. Return." Jacob said as he hit the button on Chalchi's ball. Man, that Reversal really took me by surprise. And by all rights that Bite should never have landed, but Chalchi and I will work on that later. Jacob gave Slade a thumbs up. "Nice going on overcoming a type disadvantage. But you forgot one crucial thing about our battle." With that, Jacob threw Teo's ball, releasing a tired but still standing Teo. "You had Flare use all his energy on that last ditch effort instead of dodging. Teo is still able to battle. This match is over," he said calmly, pressing the return button on Teo's ball. He then walked across the field, extending a hand to Slade. "That was a hard-fought match. I should have seen that Reversal coming, especially since I knew that Flare had that move in store."
  9. Chalchi let out a despaired cry as she was hit hard by the Reversal, the attack leaving a clear mark of injury on the Lapras's side. However, she was able to weather the hit admirably, her sheer mass keeping her in the same position as when she got hit. Her eyes took on a much more different look than they had beforehand. She looks... angry? Jacob thought, surprised at the sudden one-eighty his Lapras had done. I guess she doesn't like to lose either, he thought to himself with a smile. Chalchi was breathing heavily, and it was unlikely that she would be able to take another attack like that. "Chalchi, while he's close use a continuous Water Gun! Hose him down until he's done for!" he ordered. The Lapras looked to her trainer and nodded, fire in her eyes as she remembered the training she'd done with Teo earlier that day. She fired a jet of water at the Growlithe that was right next to her, ready to adjust to any sudden movements he might make.
  10. Issue resolved thanks to a very cooperative and friendly ExLink.
  11. >Not great with battling tactics >Trains with Jacob and Slade You do realize that Jacob and Slade are both excellent battlers, right? That's why these battles get so ridiculous so fast. Just ask one of them for help.
  12. Is there a prize for the winners, seeing as this was supposed to be the replacement for Reborn League? *taps foot expectantly*
  13. Jacob shook his head. He just won't stop with these ridiculous antics. What did he think was going to happen if he did this? Jacob wondered. "Chalchi, Water Pulse on your tail, now!" he shouted. The Lapras prepared another blue orb of water, firing it directly at the oncoming Growlithe, whose forward momentum on the ice could no longer be stopped due to his proximity to Chalchi. "No matter what, follow that up with another Freeze Dry!" Jacob continued after realizing that the missed Water Pulse had doused yet another portion of the battlefield in water, figuring the Freeze Dry would affect that area as well as wherever the next Water Pulse hit, whether it be on the Growlithe or another miss.
  14. Ember is a material attack. It's basically sparks of magic substance in a jet of hot air.
  15. Jacob grinned. Perfect. "Chalchi, look behind you and hit him with a Water Pulse!" Chalchi's flexible neck was easily able to look behind her, and as she locked onto the airborne Growlithe's trajectory another blue sphere began glowing in her mouth. She fired it directly into the Growlithe's path, forcing him to choose between abandoning his attack and landing on the ice or taking the super-effective attack head on.
  16. Jory gulped audibly. In the six months he'd been at Fort Bexly, he'd spoken directly to the General on maybe one or two occasions. Now he had volunteered himself to be interrogated. What the hell have I gotten myself into? he wondered as he began to form a response. "Well, sir, the airstrip came under heavy attack by what appeared to be a similar GAO to Cadet Cannon's. One of those big rock snakes, sir. It was extremely powerful and it had a full squad pinned down. So I told Kenny to have Eve attack it while I did the same. However, I was not clear enough in my instructions. Eve burrowed under the the GAO, which was so massive that I suppose the weakness in the earth created by Eve's tunnels was enough to cause a sinkhole. However, sir, as a result of this maneuver my life and Kenny's life were both saved, in addition to those of our GAOs and any personnel who that rock snake GAO might have reached. Additionally, sir, because of this we were able to mobilize quickly enough to capture an enemy operative alive. Were it not for the destruction of the tarmac, it is entirely possible that that rock snake would have wiped out half of our squad, as well as much of the airstrip crew that suffered despite our victory."
  17. "Chalchi, that Flame Burst is a paltry attack compared to anything you can fire off! Douse the field using a Water Pulse!" A bright blue orb appeared in Chalchi's mouth and she fired it directly at the Flame Burst, causing the flames to dissipate close to the Lapras. The Water Pulse burst on impact, making the field near Chalchi rather wet. "Now use Freeze Dry to turn this field into an ice rink!" the Trainer ordered. Chalchi let out a cry and a shockwave of extreme cold emanated from her, instantly turning the wet field around her into a large patch of ice. Good. Now he can't approach Chalchi without sliding around, and his Fire attacks can't get past her Water Pulse.
  18. Jacob nodded at Slade's words, his anger ebbing a bit. However, the razor-sharp focus that came with his rage was still there. He remembered Igor's words from the first time he'd felt this way during a sparring match: "Jacob, you need to learn to harness your anger. If you can bring it under control, you will emerge victorious. But if you let it control you, then you'll never be the kind of Trainer you want to be." As the young Trainer reflected on these words, he realized they applied to far more than simply martial arts. "Alright, Slade, let's go! Chalchi, start the match off by using Confuse Ray!" he ordered. Chalchi's eyes glowed a strange green color as an odd light display began coming out of them, the mesmerizing pattern traveling across the field toward Flare.
  19. Teo got hit by the Sonicboom, getting knocked back several meters. The Trapinch still stood, but he was clearly in pain. His Trainer recalled him to his ball. "You did awesome, Teo. Return." Jacob's mouth then opened as he looked over at Slade, the Trainer rendered speechless. His face contorted into one of fury quickly and he lost his temper. "Are you KIDDING ME? You had your Pokemon cause a stoppage in the match by feigning being fainted, then continued to attack?!? I've never encountered a more dishonest, underhanded, and overall deceitful tactic in my life. This isn't a war, Slade. It's a friendly match. It's shit like that that's the reason the LT system exists in the first place! Teo could have gotten really hurt, and you just made your Magnemite attack itself into fainting. I hope you're proud of yourself. I really do," he continued, absolutely dripping in sarcasm at the last part. He then shook his head, trying to get some of his anger out. How could any responsible Trainer allow his Pokemon to battle itself into injury? he wondered, completely aghast at Slade's tactics. I never want my Pokemon training with his again. It's one thing to push them hard in training to teach them how to battle; it's another entirely to let them do it in a live fire exercise. Jacob looked down at the other Poke Ball, smiling. But Chalchi's up next against Flare. That Growlithe definitely has more speed than Chalchi, but she'll be able to outlast him no matter what. Jacob tossed the Poke Ball up in the air. "Chalchi, it's up to you! Let's finish this battle!" he shouted as the ball burst open. A ring of extremely large snowflakes surrounded Chalchi as she was ported onto the battlefield, bursting in a shimmering shower of sparkles.
  20. The way I usually write Pokemon depends on the species. Something like Lapras that's capable of understanding and learning human speech generally thinks in words, but Teo does not. He is just as intelligent as Jacob, but because he is a Pokemon and not a human, his impression of things tends to be much more literal and grounded in the world around him rather than some complex thought process.
  21. Lost to Azery. I have the log if we need it, but it's not disputed.
  22. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a Mega Charizard Y featured in anything because Ashe's is gonna turn into Y.

    1. Skullkin
    2. TurboAura

      TurboAura

Just watch him get Mega Latias just for Nintendo re-shipping from Pokemon: Heroes.

    3. Cepheus

      Cepheus

When Ash gets a Charizard Megastone there better be a battle between him and Gary using a Mega Blastoise!

Like: "hey remember our battle in the Johto-League? Well my Blastoise will not lose again against your Charizard!!"

  23. This is the most fabulous alliance.
  24. Jacob simply stared at the result of the series of moves, rendered speechless. I've never seen Teo able to do anything like that. "Hey, Teo, that was amazing! Slade, I guess having such a strong opponent really brought out Teo's inner strength! Your strategy was awesome, but a double type weakness is really hard to overcome. Considering that, you were incredible. I've never been more proud to help someone train," he said sincerely, smiling at the other Trainer. "Now let's get on with the battle. I believe it's Flare's turn."
