  1. Jacob nodded at Mareek's explanation, giving the other boy a firm nod of affirmation. "Thanks for your input, Mareek. We really appreciate it." He thought for a moment before looking back up at the other student. "If you have the time, it'd be great if you could come with us to confront Evan about it. Or maybe we should tell one of the professors instead..." he trailed off, thinking of their possible courses of action. "If we try to get Evan to talk, then he might just shut himself off further and be completely lost to whoever is trying to recruit him. I think we owe it to ourselves to give him a second chance. I know I'd want one in the same position."
  2. Jacob nodded, a bit stung by the icy reception he'd received. Apparently, time hadn't healed that wound yet. "Mareek, we think something's very wrong here. It involves Evan and that Skarmory. We think some organization is trying to recruit him and that they're the ones who were responsible for that Donphan stampede. If that's the case, I thought you would want to know. I thought maybe you could help us figure out who's behind all this since you want to be in the International Police someday. And if it's nothing, then you stopped some classmates from doing something really boneheaded. What do you think?
  3. Jacob watched as Mareek walked right through the waiting room, surprised at the other student's apathy toward everyone else. I'll have to catch up with him! he thought to himself as he quickly extricated himself from the waiting room and out the door, following the other student until he caught up. "Hey, Mareek, wait up!" he said. "I have something we need to talk about. It's important, trust me."

  5. Roland followed Asgall forward, amazed that the huge warrior was able to move with such speed. Time seemed to slow for him as he fluidly nocked the bow, feeling the string tense underneath the notch in the arrow. He looked at the chair in front of him, then at the werewolf Asgall had wounded. One, he thought as he looked at the wolf's eye. Two, he thought as he saw the wolf's throat exposed as it went to howl. Three, he thought as he remembered where the heart of the beast lay. The archer moved as gracefully as a mountain lion as he propelled himself upward off of the decrepit barstool, hanging in the air like Cupid of old. The twang of the bowstring and the hum of three arrows were heard before the archer hit the ground, rolling forward with three more arrows already removed from his quiver and ready to fire.
  6. Hey guys. I don't think anyone's going to read this, but what the hell. Might as well put an introduction. Basically, this is a thread where I'm going to be putting the poetry that I write. Some of it is pretty depressing, but I want to start keeping better track of my poems. As I find them in my computer or write them I'll put them in here. Enjoy. =========================== Written 2/22 Stuck We open on a young man He seems to be lost No where or one to turn to Simply drifting. He used to wait, but he gave up He gave up searching He gave up hoping To find any kind of happier half. He ambles on Going through motions Taking steps Perpetually in circles. Stuck Unable to find what he used to Look for desperately in the Dark of night. Stuck Unwilling to love himself Like he wants to be loved By someone else. Stuck Living in a cage Of his own construction. Stuck Behind shifting blue eyes. Stuck With his words on the tip of his tongue. Stuck On his own Trapped beneath the weight Of a lonely soul. He finally stands up, His eyes gleaming with long-forgotten hope Only to be battered down By the harsh winds of reality. He sits, remaining Stuck.
  7. I'm Jory. I like to read sci-fi and fantasy, but my writing couldn't be further from that. While I do love to roleplay those, I have a hard time developing overarching worlds and plots. Dialogue is my biggest weakness, which is why I tend to write poetry. I tend to keep my writing as short as I possibly can. Words are precious; there's no need to waste them.
  8. Kizaru smiled. I Wanya get myself over to the Magician's Guild, he mused as he chuckled quietly to himself. He looked at the street signs and set off toward the Magician's Guild, continually impressed by the scale and feeling of realness in the game. He continued walking toward the Guild, observing the city around him as he went. I hope I'll get a good item drop soon. I feel dreadfully underpowered right now, he noted as he saw some guards walk by. I need to at least be able to hold my own against those guys if I'm going to have any chance of beating the harder bosses. Hopefully I'll be able to find a quest or something to help me level up soon.
  9. Jory nodded, approving of Adam's strategy. "Quick, Shredder, make her choose! Give that damn Hypno a Quick Scissor!" he shouted. A blur shot across the battlefield as the supercharged Zangoose fired itself at the Hypno, bounding across the ground with astounding speed. As it approached the Hypno its claws began to glow and it brought them out to the side, leaping toward its foe with uncanny accuracy. However, Shredder became apprehensive as he neared the Psychic-type. The Hypno might try to use Carissa as a shield, so he had to be prepared. He formed a backup plan quickly, sheathing his claws as he threw his shoulder forward with an unexpected Double Edge attack.
  10. {Waiting Room Exit} "Wait up, Danielle," Jacob said hurriedly as he and Spitfyre rushed over to join the girl. "Mareek's got his battle going on right now. It's actually against Lana of all people as well. We're best off waiting for him at the end of the tunnel he'll go through after the match is over." He then pondered what Danielle had said. "Yeah, Donphan aren't usually that aggressive. I'm not a betting man, but I'd be willing to put money down that those creeps in black were the ones who scared the Donphan so they could go after poor Evan over there." He looked over to Evan, unsure of himself. "Maybe Claude or I should go talk to Evan after we see what Mareek thinks. If he has anything to do with them, I'd like to give him the opportunity to redeem himself. He's a student after all. And once you get past his Krabbyness, he's actually a sweet guy."
  11. {Waiting Room- Jacob, Danielle, and Claude} Jacob looked carefully at the Pokemon's charade and thought deeply for a moment. Not TR... Rhyhorn stampede... Black... Jacob looked puzzled for a moment before his eyes lit up. He stood abruptly and snapped his fingers, startling Spitfyre. "Guys, I've got it!" He looked to all of them and then to Zared. "The people who caused the Rhyhorn stampede weren't poachers or Team Rocket! They were dressed in black." He looked off into the distance for a second and looked back. "Maybe the Donphan stampede wasn't the end goal of that. When we found Evan he wasn't in any shape to walk, but we found him by following Skarmory's tracks away from where he fell from the road." He looked to Danielle and Claude again. "What if somebody moved him? Say, a couple of folks in black?" Jacob sighed. "We can't know for sure. We should talk more about this with Mareek. Let's go find him."
  12. {Waiting Room- Spitfyre, Jacob, and Danielle} Spitfyre nodded vigorously to Zared, his eyes narrowing as the Mawile relayed the information to the Charmeleon. He cocked his head in curiosity at the mention of the fifth Pokemon. Come to think of it, Spitfyre couldn't seem to figure out which Pokemon was the strange Trainer's fifth either. He nodded his thanks to Zared and walked back to his Trainer. He tapped a claw on the young man's knee to get his attention, then pointed to Evan. "Him? We found him in the woods during the trip. What's up, Spits? You're acting weird." The Charmeleon then grabbed the Trainer's hand and splayed his fingers out. He curled in one finger and did his best imitation of a Vaporeon. He then continued to imitate each of the other Trainer's known Pokemon until he reached Jacob's thumb, at which point he simply shrugged. Jacob nodded. "So you don't know his fifth Pokemon? Neither do I. I bet if anyone would know, it would be Mareek. He's always got his ear to the ground when it comes to research." Jacob paused momentarily. Then, Danielle approached him. "Sorry for breaking your concentration, Jacob, but this was one of the only quiet places left without Evan butting in. Do you have any thoughts on this?" Jacob nodded, gesturing to Spitfyre. "I already got filled in. I was just telling Spitfyre that we should ask Mareek about it. He probably knows everything there is to know about all the battlers here." He then smiled at the Coordinator. "By the way, that was an awesome win you pulled out earlier. Congrats on moving on."
  13. Dru looked at Sigurd in shock, then back to the guardsman. "I apologize for my friend's brusque manner. We have been on the road for far too long with naught to eat but travel rations. Add that to the fact that many here still grieve from the recent loss of one of our own and... Well, you'll get someone like him," the sorcerer said pointedly, using his head to indicate Sigurd was the target of that statement. "Hawk's Roost was hit as well. No survivors save those that assailed the village. And I would warn you once again of the Grave Earth. It is an unnatural thing like nothing I have ever seen before. Please, keep your people safe," he said quietly. "For the sake of those who couldn't be saved."
  14. Jacob listened carefully to the conversation as Arete played idly with his hair from her seat on her Trainer's shoulder. I wonder why Evan's being so hostile. Nothing makes a person mean like having something to hide, that's for sure, he noted, though not thinking much of it. At least he has that Skarmory. That bird's a powerhouse, especially with so few Pokemon around here being fully evolved. Teo and Spitfyre were busy mock wrestling. Jacob wasn't surprised to see that despite his small stature, the Trapinch managed to come out on top the majority of the time. Finally, the two seemed to have had enough of their play fighting and approached their Trainer. He nodded to them and returned them to their Poke Balls. However, Spitfyre simply dodged the ray of light and looked at Jacob with chagrin. "Fine, you can stay out. Go play with Danielle's Pokemon," he said calmly, closing his eyes as he thought about the next day's battle. Nadia's a tough opponent... Spitfyre approached Avis and Zared slowly, not wanting to provoke a negative reaction. He raised a claw in greeting and looked between the two, realizing he'd interrupted something. He cocked his head and blew a puff of smoke out his nostrils, expressing his curiosity.
  15. Jory slid down the ladder, stumbling a little as he landed hard at the bottom and walked forward to clear the way. Oliver didn't even bother with the ladder, simply leaping down the open hole behind his Trainer. The lizard's eyes glowed yellow in the darkness of the sewers, making it clear that this GAO was as at home in the sewer as it was in the dark shadows of the forest canopy.
  16. Kizaru looked at the imp, annoyance flashing across his face. "Tutorial mission? Do they think we're children? I miss the days when they just tossed you in the game and left you to your own devices. None of this coddling stuff." The lepus held out his hand. A green circle bordered by mystic runes formed in the air next to it. Suddenly, a vine rose from the ground and snaked its way upward into the caster's hand. It ended after roughly six feet, growing thick bark. He twirled the newly formed staff adroitly. As quickly as he spun the staff he lifted it high above his head and brought it down with both hands, crushing the imp.
  17. Dru nodded briefly. "No, we weren't. But we saw something very similar to what you described." he said, thinking it ironic how near it was to the truth. "It was truly unsettling. The earth seemed to devour corpses. It fed off of their life force," he recalled, shuddering. "But the people who were devoured were already dead. At least that's a deterrent," he said hopefully.
  18. Roland dashed forward with startling agility, following Asgall toward the sound of combat reverberating in the distance. He took three arrows out of his hip quiver, holding them in his right hand as he ran with his cloak billowing behind him. We must get there in time, he thought to himself. Those werewolves can easily overwhelm a lone fighter, and their howls are bound to attract more unwanted attention. The archer was now right on Asgall's heels as they approached the battlefield, ready to begin fighting as the tips of his arrows glinted in the dim light of the eclipse.
  19. Kizaru sighed and shook his head. "Tutorial? Are you for real?" he despaired, anxious to get into the meat of the game. "Come onnnn...." he groaned as he moved his legs, walking excitedly toward the altar. Once he took his first few steps, the bubble in front of him disappeared. He used the time to acclimate to his new arms and legs, admiring his lithe physique. "Ohoo-hoo-hoo, this is going to be quite the adventure!" he gushed. He looked more closely at the altar as he got nearer. "The graphics are great. It's almost like I'm really here," he joked to himself as he reached the construction, eagerly awaiting his next objective.
  20. Dru looked up at the gatekeeper, his eyes hard from grief and loss. "Fairy tales don't swallow up villages, friend," he said curtly. "As the lady said, we'll not be staying long. Just passing through." He gave the man a curt nod, waiting for his reply.
  21. Jory looked on in concern as the Hypno continued battling with Carissa as its hostage. No, not yet. I can't let the Mother distract me. The most important thing is that we defeat her, he thought to himself as the Zangoose and Scizor sped toward each other. "Shredder, meet that Bullet Punch with your Fire Punch! Go!" the Trainer shouted. Shredder's front paws began blazing as the Normal-type moved ever close to the Scizor, planning to meet it head-on. As he approached his foe he leapt forward, diving toward the Mother's Scizor as he swung a vicious Fire Punch to meet the Bug-type's attack.
  22. Jory nodded. "No, we don't. And you're going to be figuring that out shortly. Shredder, Fire Blast on that Scizor. Then engage!" he shouted as the Protect began to dissipate. A glowing orange sphere appeared in front of the Zangoose's mouth as he breathed in. Steam began to rise off his skin as he roared, throwing his head forward. A large burst of fire was heading directly for the Scizor. The Zangoose then dropped into a Quick Attack, moving rapidly toward the Guillotine.
  23. Jory looked to Adam and nodded. "Right, although we still have the issue of being outnumbered three to one. Be careful," he cautioned. Shredder stepped forward onto the battlefield and Jory smiled. "Shredder, get ready for combat. Swords Dance, let's go!" he shouted. Shredder began concentrating hard, slowly moving his claws around in an artistic display of martial prowess.
  24. Roland adjusted his quiver and his belt before picking his bow up, his fingers running over the familiar carvings as he looked down to make sure all was in order with the bowstring. He gave it a light thrum and, satisfied, picked up his equipment and moved toward the gangplank. He looked around him for Richter and Stig, prepared to disembark in his homeland.
