{Inside the Conclave} Jacob looked angrily toward the stairwell as he heard shouting coming from it. He gave a meaningful look to Shredder, who nodded in return. The veteran then turned to look at the rest of the people inside the floor. "If you all wouldn't mind, I have a little bit of rage that needs tending to." His voice was flat, but there was an unmistakable wavering in it that belied his true anger. He strode purposefully across the room, picking up his jacket where he'd left it earlier. He reached into the pockets and took out a pair of open-fingered gloves. However, they clearly had more weight to them than just cloth as evidenced by the way they moved when he lifted them up. He put the gloves on and punched his fists together, settling the lead shot in the garments across his knuckles. "Shredder, Swords Dance," he said softly. The Zangoose closed his eyes and began stretching as they neared the top of the stairwell, which was only wide enough for two people at a time. Just as the pair reached the top of the stairs, they met the group of Acolytes. The first one was taken by surprise as Jory wordlessly rocked her in the face with a straight right. A sickening crack was heard as the Acolyte screamed and clutched her nose, getting sent back down the stairs in a mess of blood and the tangled limbs of another Acolyte. Shredder jumped the next one just as she released her Simipour. Jacob dodged the immediate Water Pulse and let Shredder deal with the Water monkey using a devastating Mega Punch. Jory's foot connected with the next Acolyte's face as she tried to climb the stairs, sending her back down into the heap that was the other two Acolytes at the bottom of the stairs. "Anyone else want a turn?" he snarled, daring them to try to take the top of the stairs from him.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Jacob} The young man looked at his friend quizzically, not really understanding the question. "You mean this whole Evan thing?" A sly grin overtook his face as he shook his head. "Hell no. But if Professor Cadmus told us to be careful, then that's what we need to do. So from now on whenever one of us is investigating, he or she needs to have a partner with him. No one is going up against this alone. If it has one of the Elite Four worried, then there's not a shot that any one of us will be able to be effective. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that we should be even more worried." He paused, thinking for a moment. "My brain needs food to work, though, so let's get on that. Then let's head over to the forest. I have something I want to take care of before my next match," he said vaguely, hoping that would be enough information for Danielle to agree to go with him.- 1255 replies

[IC] Of Shadow and Flame: Beginnings
Jory replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Bark watched the action unfold, a light grin on his face as the others attacked the beast in a chaotic swarm of magical attacks. Suddenly, a girl cried out about crazy people. He scanned the battlefield and realized that standing in the fray was a somewhat young-looking girl. The man sighed and loosened the sling on his shotgun, taking it in both hands. "Frickin' white girls," he muttered as he took off toward the girl. Once he reached her he looked back toward the Beast, then again at the non-combatant. "I don't know what you think you're doing here, but believe me when I say that the safest thing for you right now is to come with me." With that said, Bark took off back to his hiding spot in the blown-open wall. -

{Jacob} Jacob sighed in disappointment as Professor Cadmus walked away. Dang. I really wish I'd been able to ask him about my new strategy, he thought morosely. Then, his head perked up at Danielle's suggestion of getting lunch. "Oh, wow! That sounds like a great idea!" he said excitedly. Spitfyre eyed him carefully, not sure why his Trainer was getting so excited about food so soon after lunch. "I already ate, but during events like this I just get so excited that my body burns up all my energy and ohhhh I'm super hungry now! Let's go eat," he said, gesturing to Danielle to lead the way.- 1255 replies

[IC] Of Shadow and Flame: Beginnings
Jory replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Bark blinked a few times. One moment a Transformed magical person had just flown through the wall in front of him, and the next thing he knew the warrior was back on his feet and engaging the Beast. A Beast? Here? he thought to himself. A bit crowded. Better make sure no one gets hurt. He stepped through the hole in the wall carefully, avoiding the rubble as he approached the battle. The imposing man was still wrapped in shadow, unable to be seen by anyone who wasn't looking closely at him. He continued to observe the fight as another combatant dropped in from above, hoping he wouldn't have to step in. It's one thing to protect humans. It's another when there are Protectors involved, he thought with a sigh. This might get a little dicey. -

Schick. Schick. Schick. Schick. The sound of plastic on metal grated against the oppressive silence as Bark watched his surroundings, years of experience teaching him to never let his guard down. His hands deftly loaded shell after shell into the chamber of his Remington Model 870. These Americans know how to put together a gun, he thought to himself as the shells slid smoothly home. Let's just hope I don't have to use it. The rather large man slung the weapon over his back, tightening the strap so it wouldn't clank against him unnecessarily. He didn't know what he was there for, but he was. It was some primal urge, as though a beacon had been put up for him to follow. A long time ago he'd learned to trust his gut and it hadn't failed him yet, so he'd followed the mysterious force to here. And it seemed as though he was getting close to his destination. I'll find whatever it is, he thought. He began walking toward the hospital in the distance, making sure to observe his surroundings as he went. It wouldn't do to get ambushed so close to the source of the pull. -
Jacob's team has also undergone some pretty extensive overhaul. He'll be taking a team that goes along with his career goals. Tune in next time to see Jacob make his decision about his new Pokemon!

Don't worry. Jacob's starter doesn't evolve at all for the next 10 levels. Everyone has their own evo pace.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Zephyr} Alvin looked in on horror as the Sneasel closed in on Hera. "Hera, do something!" he shouted. But his orders were given in vain. As the Heracross cocked her arm back for a Brick Break, the Aerial Ace connected. It sent Hera flying backward. She skidded across the ice, barely stopping at the edge. The Bug and Fighting type stayed down, defeated. Alvin quickly recalled her to her Ball and walked out of the arena, his face set in a mask of rage.- 1255 replies

{Arthur, Dominic, Setsuna} Just as Arthur was about to respond to Mister Arclight's question, his D-Pad buzzed. He looked down to check the message, confident that either one of the others could handle the conversation. He clicked the screen on and selected Zander's message, quickly reading it: Sounds good, he thought to himself. No need for a reply at this point. I'll update him when I can.
-
{Hiss, Dominic} Arthur stepped down from the bus and looked around, grinning lightly. He saw another youth waiting by himself. Must be the guy we're here to meet, he reasoned. He approached the young man and gave him a nod, waiting on the girl to introduce them. He looked at the two students, giving each of them an appraising glance. They can handle themselves, he decided. He then looked down at his D-Pad and opened the teacher's group message to the class. He scrolled through to Zander's name and selected it, setting him as the target for a new message: At East Heartland Bus Station with 2 other students. Following a lead from samurai. Guy named Ike Johnson is curating a museum exhibit in town. Something about Ancient Egyptian mythology. Probably connected to illegal duels. Any news? Will update later, AS

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Zephyr} "Hera, keep trying with Pin Missile!" Alvin shouted. She shouldn't be winning! I have an advantage! he wailed inwardly. That Sneasel is just too quick! He winced as Hera took another direct hit from Rogue's Icy Wind attack, a thick layer of frost beginning to accumulate on the fighting beetle's carapace. Her movements were becoming slower as a result, and she was clearly struggling to keep pace with her opponent. Her breathing was becoming labored from taking so many direct hits. It looked like one more good hit was all it would take for Rogue to claim victory. {Jacob} The young man nodded to the Professor, a look of relief washing over his face. "Thank you for believing us, Professor Cadmus. If you need us for anything, let us know!" he said resolutely. He stayed with the group, waiting to hear everyone's reactions before heading off.- 1255 replies

{Jacob} The young Trainer looked to the other students. "Well, I suppose it'd be best to start from the beginning," Jacob began. He then proceeded to tell Professor Cadmus all the information they had gathered about Evan and his possible ties with a criminal organization. He also reiterated their desire for Evan to be treated as a misguided and otherwise unwilling participant. "Does anyone else have something to add?" he asked his friends.- 1255 replies

I'm often checking the RP in class or when I tell my parents I'm studying, so I rarely if ever listen to the music. Personally I prefer when there's no music posted, as I have an overactive imagination. I essentially see everything I read as a movie complete with bgm. -

Of Shadow and Flame: a Q/A session with Takeshi
Jory replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Takeshi, are the Protectors all a part of the same faction or are there different subgroups within them? Same question for each faction. -
{Important Action} There's no reason to keep tailing him now that we've gotten the info we need, he thought to himself. It doesn't seem like he really knows anything else. Arthur stepped out from the shadow of the door and waved to the girl from school, keeping his hands level to ensure she knew he wasn't a criminal. "Hey, it's cool. I'm Arthur Seward. We go to the same school. If you're going to be going to the Port to find that Mr. Johnson character, I'd be happy to go with you. It's not safe to go alone these days," he said calmly. "What do you say?"

Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Zephyr} Alvin looked annoyed as the Sneasel got up, laughing at the whole scene that had just unfolded. "Look at your Sneasel! She can barely stand and you're seriously coming back for another beating?" he taunted, knowing full well how infuriating he was acting. There was just no way that snot-nosed brat Raiza was going to beat him with such a huge advantage in Alvin's back pocket. "Hera, Pin Missiles again!" he shouted. However, just like earlier the attack was too slow to catch up to the quick little Dark-type. Hera shivered as the Icy Wind attack hit her, having to yank her feet off the ice when they stuck to it from the cold. Her limbs began to feel cold and her movement became more sluggish as the Icy Wind attack struck home. "Counter it with a Focus Blast!" Alvin shouted. The Heracross charged up an orange ball of energy and fired it at the ice in the Sneasel's path in an effort to at least slow the counterattack.- 1255 replies

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Zephyr} Alvin laughed loudly as the Sneasel rushed directly in. "I already told you, Raiza. There's just no way your Sneasel is going to beat Hera by charging in head-on! If there's one thing Heracross are renowned for, it's their brute strength!" He then pointed at the field and pumped his other fist triumphantly. "Hera, Brick Break! Show that pesky little runt who's really in charge!" The Heracross cocked her arm back. It began glowing white as she thrust it forward, meeting the Sneasel's Aerial Ace head-on. The ice underneath Hera began to crack as the blows met, then the energy built up burst outward in a shockwave. The impact of Hera's Brick Break sent Rogue flying backward as Hera slid backward across the ice still on her feet, the shortsighted strategy of running directly into a double weakness not really working in Raiza's favor. Alvin sneered at the result, his Heracross damaged but definitely still in fighting shape while the Sneasel seemed to have gotten the worse of the encounter. "Is that really the best you can do? You'll never make it to the next stage in the tournament if you don't think before you attack!"- 1255 replies
