Pokémon Academy Chapter 4: Abduction
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Jacob vs. Slade} Jacob walked out of the waiting room, determined to move on in the tournament. There's no way I'm getting knocked out this early, he thought to himself. Especially not after seeing Phoebe's Gyarados. Spitfyre's going to be even stronger than that someday. It's important that we show that strength! The teen moved into his place on the field, preparing for the battle.- 202 replies

[IC] Of Shadow and Flame EP2: Investigation
Jory replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Office Floor Oh, crap, the man moaned inwardly as he approached the security desk. But still, I might as well try to get in. Bark smiled disarmingly at the woman. "Hi. And no, I'm quite afraid I don't," he said, furrowing his brow slightly. He looked around as though confused, taking in his surroundings. "In fact, I'm not even sure I'm on the right floor." His eyes passed over the placard on the second-nearest office's door. "Could you tell me whether a Mr. Johnson works here?" he asked hopefully. "I've got some papers for him. I'm afraid he's been subpoenaed." -

Bark pondered his options for a moment. After putting his plate in the sink the imposing man had left without another word, bringing all his belongings with him. Whether or not he would return later was a question for another time, but for now he had to assume he'd be moving on. Unlike Faust, Bark's journey uptown took a little longer. Public transit tended to do that, especially buses. After an old Haitian woman had begun making hand signs at him and mumbling in Creole, the man had decided to get off a few stops early and avoid any trouble. Thus, he was at a loss as to how to get up to the top of the commercial district when he got there, having been preoccupied with not being lost. Suddenly an idea hit him. He walked into the lobby of the building, doing his best to look like he belonged there. Unfortunately, he'd had to leave his shotgun and his bag behind a dumpster in the alley next to the building, as he was not keen on drawing attention to himself. Once he entered the lobby he made a beeline for the elevator. He hit the button and waited for a moment before it came down. A man walked out and Bark held the door for him before getting in and closing the door. He hit the button for the third-highest floor. As it started moving he remained where he was, because frankly he wasn't sure what he was looking for and it would do him more good to blend in than to try sneaking around with his powers. "What am I even looking for?" he wondered, unable to shake the feeling that something was very wrong. -

{Phoebe's Group- Mega Evolution!} Jacob gaped at the Mega Gyarados, his eyes locked on the huge serpent and the sheer power he could feel radiating from it. "Wow..." he breathed, unable to form a sentence to accurately describe how he felt. He looked down at Spitfyre, seeing the same fascination in the Charmeleon's eyes. The pair looked on, still in awe of the amazing amount of energy the Gyarados and its Trainer were exerting in that form. The Charmeleon looked up at his Trainer, reminded of the promise Jacob had made him when they first battled together. "Char," the flame lizard said quietly, clenching his claw closed and looking back at the Gyarados. This was true power. This was the true path to strength and victory, and Spitfyre would be damned if he was going to let anybody get in the way of him and his Trainer achieving that power.- 1255 replies

Pokemon Academy Ch. 3: Queued-Up Battles

{Jacob vs. Slade} Jacob pumped his fist, smiling broadly. "Alright!" Chalchi brayed happily in response before disappearing into her Ball in a flash of red light. Jacob crossed the field toward Slade with his arm outstretched, going for a handshake. "That was an awesome battle, Slade. You did really well," he said amiably. ================================== {Accumula Town, Unova Region} Jacob's family jumped off the couch, whooping and celebrating the teen's victory. "Alright!" said his uncle excitedly. "He's doing so well. I wouldn't be suprised if he won at this point!" -

{Jacob vs. Slade} As the vines were coming up Jacob shouted, "Chalchi, Body Slam!" The Grass Knot reached up, catching the Lapras in the air and pulling her down. However, by using Body Slam she was able to mitigate the damage from hitting the ground as well as drastically increase the force of her fall. The ice beneath her cracked as the earth crumbled beneath her, collapsing the tunnels made by the Grass Knots on top of the Frogadier, who was trapped inside them. Chalchi groaned in pain, but managed to pull herself upright after the attack. "There's no way Sasuke got out of that, Slade!" Jacob said grimly, his clothes soaked through by Chalchi's rain. -

Bark's eyes snapped open at the smell of food. He yawned and moved over to the kitchen, not even bothering to say hi to anyone as he got a plate of food for himself and tucked in. She didn't do it right, he thought as he observed the canteen exchange. She should've just taken it and left if she wanted to leave without talking to anyone. Just like I'm doing, he noted. -

{Jacob vs. Slade} Jacob knew what he had to do the moment the Grass Knot was fired off. "Chalchi, this is why we did all that defensive training! Tank the hit, then use Water Pulse!" The Lapras gave a grunt of pain as she allowed the vines to wrap around her. However, just as they became tense around her she used Freeze Dry on the vines. Although she took substantial damage from the attack, thanks to her training and strategy she was able to shrug off the worst of it. "Now, fire!" Jacob ordered. The frozen vines shattered and Chalchi fired a Water Pulse down into the hole. After it burst, soaking the tunnel in water, the mist from Freeze Dry froze the hole over and trapped Sasuke inside. -

I'm gonna have Bark investigate the suicides since it's the most human interest-y option. Faust, if you want to coordinate some stuff you should PM me :^) -

{Jacob vs. Slade} "Chalchi, ignore the smoke! Crush the prison, now!" With that, the Lapras threw herself on top of the icy prison, shattering it and crushing everything remaining inside it. The Trainer looked over to Slade, pleased with himself. "I'll bet Sasuke's getting tired by now, Slade. All you've had him do so far is sprint around at full speed. No one can keep that much effort up for so long. If he even managed to escape Chalchi's attack, he's gotta be exhausted from cutting through the ice." -

{Phoebe's Group} Jacob's hand flew over his mouth as he heard the story, appalled at the Grass-type Elite Four's callous attitude and lack of caring toward Pokemon. "How could she do that?" he said in a near-whisper, horrified at the prospect of someone hurting a defenseless Magikarp. "I don't understand. I just... First Professor Cadmus's Hydreigon's story, and now this?" He sighed, looking upward. "There's so much pain and misery in the world even without people needlessly hurting others. But to add that to the mix makes it even harder to deal with." Jacob looked resolutely toward Danielle. "When I'm a world-famous Trainer, I'm going to do something about it. You can count on it!"- 1255 replies

{Jacob vs. Slade} Attacking the only part of her that can really dodge? Okay, I guess you're asking for it, Jacob thought to himself. "Chalchi, dodge and use Freeze Pulse! Keep him locked down!" The Lapras lazily moved her head to the side, avoiding the Lick attack as her body gave off an immense amount of cold. drifting a freezing mist along the ground as Chalchi fired a Water Pulse down at the Frogadier. Just before it would have contacted the Frogadier it burst, firing a cone of water at the Lapras's foe instead of the normal Water Pulse. The cone began to freeze rapidly from the ground up due to the Freeze Dry, threatening to catch the Water-frog since it would be difficult for him to maneuver out of the double-sided attack whilst vulnerable in midair. -

{Jacob vs. Slade} "He's revealed himself! Freeze the vines, then use Body Slam!" Jacob countered. The Lapras's naturally cold skin and her Freeze Dry attack stopped the vines about halfway to the ice, preventing the Pokemon from taking damage other than from the initial contact with the vines. She then reared up, causing the thin icicles around her neck to break. As Sasuke missed her neck with his Cut attack, he ended up underneath the Lapras's stomach. She slammed down, hopefully using her superior size to trap or cause serious damage to the Frogadier. -
Why should Tacos get to stomp around like a giant, while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? What's so great about Tacos? Hm? Pixl is just as cute as Tacos. Pixl is just as smart as Tacos. People totally like Pixl just as much as they like Tacos. And when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody, huh? Because that's not what Reborn is about. We should totally just stab Tacos!

{Jacob & Slade} "Slade, you walked right into this, so I have no pity for you! Chalchi, use Freeze Dry on the mist!" The condensed water in the atmosphere that was completely surrounding the Water-type frog, as well as the ground underneath him flash froze due to the rapidly decreasing temperature. The rain began to turn to hail as it approached the battlefield, bouncing off of the ground and buffeting the non-Ice type combatants. -

{Jacob vs. Slade} "Spitfyre, Iron Tail! Block the Cut!" Jacob shouted. However, the elongated battle had taken its toll, and the Dragon Rage had inflicted enough recoil damage to hurt. The Flame Lizard's fatigue showed as he raised his glowing tail to block the Cut attack but failed, instead getting knocked down to the ground. He began to get up slowly, clearly struggling, when Jacob cut in. "Enough. Spitfyre, you've done more than your share of the work today. Take a good rest," he said calmly, returning the Charmeleon to his ball in a flash of red light. Jacob grinned. "Awesome move, Slade. But I still have another Pokemon left!" With that, he took Chalchi's Ball off his belt and threw it in the air. A burst of puffy white clouds flew out of her Ball, followed by a swirling vortex of white and cyan snowflakes. Then, the Lapras hit the battlefield. She brayed loudly, looking around at the lava field. "Don't worry about the fire, Chalchi!" her Trainer said encouragingly. "Let's get this show on the road! Chalchi, use Rain Dance!" The Lapras nodded and threw her head to the sky.Dark clouds quickly began to form above the Arena as a downpour began. The rain hissed on the bars and lava, but the actual battlefield was still wet from Sasuke's attacks. The rain evaporating just above the lava threw up a cloud of steam that hung low over the Arena, impeding sight for short Pokemon. -

Bark shook his head. "Kid, I may be friendly, but even I need some alone time every so often. Helps me to think more clearly, you know?" he replied. "In any case, I'll be down in a bit." The large man ducked through a low doorway as he walked down the hall, finding the staircase at the end. He quickly climbed up to the roof, sighing in relief as he gulped in the semi-fresh urban air. He moved over to the edge and sat down, dangling his legs off the tall building while he reflected on how he'd acquired his own powers. Do I have some kind of responsibility to these kids now? he wondered. I don't want them to end up like me, resenting the people who brought them into all of this shit. But then again, sometimes it's more helpful to just mind my own business. Last time I tried to step in, it didn't end well... he thought gloomily. Damn these kids, being all idiotic and whatnot! But can i really trust the factions to make sure they don't turn into eugeneticist animals like the Preservers? -

{Jacob & Danielle} The pair managed to follow Ryan back to the gymnasium with Avis and Arete's help. As they walked by the door, they spotted the other kids congregating near Phoebe, the Water-type Trainer! Jacob nudged his friend, pointing to all the Pokemon that were out. "What do you think is going on in here?" he asked in hushed tones, looking back at his Togetic and Charmeleon. Spitfyre remained silent, warily eying the other Pokemon and sizing them up in case he had to battle them. He snorted derisively, deciding that he could probably take on all of them at the same time. His Trainer sighed, knowing the look in his Fire-type's eyes. "Spits, remember to stay humble. The fastest way to lose is to underestimate your opponents," he said quietly before looking down at his belt. I can't wait to get to know that Seviper, even if she seems a little short-tempered, he thought to himself.- 1255 replies

{Arthur, Arial, Rene, Ken, & Zander} Arthur nodded, thinking back to the vision. "I mean, it would make sense. After all, it is the ACID Golem of DESTRUCTION," he said, enunciating the two main words to emphasize his point. Suddenly, Zander appeared and walked over to the table. Arthur narrowed his eyes at the other boy, and, in the shrillest voice he could muster, shouted, "YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US!" The blue-haired youth then chuckled and gestured to a desk near him, signaling to Zander that it was actually okay to sit with the group.

I'm just gonna teleport Jacob and Danielle to the area Phoebe's in since they've been "walking" for about 3 pages now. Which building is Phoebe in, again?

Bark chuckled as everyone began eating, waving off Bobby's offer. I remember the cravings. I guess the girl's having them too, he noted, realizing that increased appetite might be a common symptom of recently awakened magic. He then addressed Bobby's question. "No, thanks. I just ate a bit ago. I never go where I might have to fight on an empty stomach." He paused, looking around the room before sighing. "Listen, kid, is there any way I can get to the roof from here?" he asked Takeshi, suddenly looking quite restless. -

{Jacob vs. Slade} "Alright, Spitfyre, while he's setting up it's time to show them why we're the most prepared! Use Warm Blankie!" Jacob shouted, smirking at the maneuver's ridiculous name. Spitfyre dug a tiny depression with his paws, then leapt in the air and fired a Dragon Rage into it. The weakened earth provided the perfect cushion for the shockwave, sending Spitfyre flying high above the field. "Now, finish it!" Jacob shouted. The Charmeleon fired a wide Incinerate that blanketed the Frogaadier's half of the field in flames, leaving little room for escape. -

{Jacob vs. Slade} Spitfyre looked around at the fake attacks, beginning to get confused. Luckily, his Trainer had a handle on the situation. "Spitfyre, don't let the distractions fool you! Use Incinerate again!" Jacob ordered. The Blaze-boosted attack performed just how Jacob had predicted, dissipating the fakes and hissing to a halt where it came into contact with the Water Pulse. The heat also had the added effect of carrying the smoke upward with it, lifting the vision barrier enough that all combatants could see through it with relative ease."Again!" Jacob shouted. A wide cone in front of the Charmeleon was once again filled with flame as the Flame Lizard went on the offensive, trying to catch the agile frog in his attack.
