  1. Zephyr Alvin sneered, tapping the side of his head and making a disgusted face. "You need to use your brain more, Raiza. Don't tell me You've forgotten one of the best moves a Fighting-type can learn. Even though it's not Bug-type, it cuts through your puny Ice walls like they're tissue paper!" He pumped his fist and yelled, "Hera, Brick Break, then keep the pressure up with more Pin Missiles!" Hera nodded and jumped through the air, cocking her arm back as her wings carried her across the gap between platforms. She smashed through the wall fist-first, the Ice construction crumbling like a sandcastle as the big Bug-type began firing Pin Missiles at the Sneasel. Her jump carried her to the Sneasel's platform, causing it to rock as the missiles approached.
  2. I'm really into this RP in case y'all hadn't noticed so I usually check it a few times a day. I'll read the posts and do what I can to move everything along nicely provided Chim likes the job I'm doing.
  3. probably :V psh I don't know what you're talking about *whistlewhistlewhistle*
  4. ((Well, here goes nothing. First post guise i'm so excited [[[[[[[[[: Let me know how I did in the OOC! )) Zephyr Alvin smirked as the Sneasel's legs buckled on the platform, his Heracross's low center of gravity keeping its legs relatively stable despite the slippery surface. "Isn't Sneasel supposed to be surefooted on ice? Looks to me like Hera's gonna take this one easy. After all, you made a rookie mistake in sending out a Dark-type against me. I've got the advantage," he said confidently. Hera smashed her hands together, giving a fierce nod to her opponent before the battle began. The Bug expert looked around the stadium at the crowd, then back at Raiza. "I'll take the first move if you don't mind! Hera, use Pin Missile!" he shouted. And just like that, the battle had begun. The Heracross threw her hands in front of her and began thrusting them forward rapidly, firing a barrage of glowing green missiles at her foe.
  5. I'm gonna ninja Chim here and let you all know that I've decided to step up and become more active about my role as co-host. Obviously I'm new to this and it'll take me a bit to adjust, but I know that you're all awesome people and I can count on you all to bear with me while I work out the kinks. However, I would like to reiterate the scope of this RP (it's one of the two biggest active ones) and add that anyone else coming aboard even in a minor capacity would be super helpful, especially since my workload tends to spike during exam periods.
  6. {Zander, Arial, Rene} Arthur pinched the bridge of his nose. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm gonna go to the hotel with Pretty Boy over here. Maybe there'll be a ship captain there who knows my dad and will be willing to share a little information. He then cleared his throat. "I'll go to the hotel with Mr. Moped." He then stood next to Zander, waiting to hear where everyone else was going.
  7. Jacob muttered something about bananas and walked away, followed shortly by a very confused Spitfyre. The second they were out of earshot the young man perked up and smiled, looking down at his Charmeleon. "Take that as a lesson, Spits. If you're uncomfortable just say something confusing and wander off. People tend to be too afraid to really question it," he noted. The Charmeleon rolled his eyes in response and blew a puff of smoke at his Trainer. "Hey, Spits. That's rude. Rude," he scolded jokingly. The pair continued toward the announcers' booth, keeping an eye out for the Dragon-master as they made their way through the fairgrounds and the stadium halls.
  8. {Rene, Arial, Zander, and Roy} Arthur exited the schoolbuilding. He immediately paused to take his D-Pad out of his backpack and slide it onto his arm, smiling lightly at the device. It had begun as a stock D-Pad that he found lying around the docks one day when he was young. But, working on a ship had its advantages. He had had access to parts and tools that most teenagers don't, and as a result he had been able to customize his own D-Pad over the past few years. It was now a deep blue color with teal accenting and glossy bronze-painted strips at the edge of each Monster slot, matching the underwater theme of his Atlantean deck. Once he had it on he proceeded toward the sidewalk. The first thing he saw was Klive speeding away on his bicycle, leaving a group of students in the dust. Hey, some of them were talking about Tenjo's death earlier, he thought to himself. I wonder what they're doing. And so Arthur found himself walking up to the group, recognizing Arial and Zander from the classroom. "Hey, guys," he interjected. He then looked at each of them. "Sorry for the intrusion. I'm Arthur," he began. "I couldn't help but hear you guys talking about Tenjo's death and those illegal duels. Any chance I could come with you? I'd like to shed some light on this too."
  9. Jacob shrugged. "Why don't we just do both? We can have Avis tell Professor Cadmus to meet us near the booth and wait there on the off chance that Avis isn't able to get in contact with him."
  10. Jacob waved to Danielle, smiling as the cheery girl and Lana approached the group. "Hey, not at all! How are things going inside?" he asked excitedly. "So I think we decided that we're all gonna go tell Professor Cadmus together so that he has to at least pay attention to us. The only problem is that we're not sure how to get to him before the end of the matches today since he's in the announcers' booth," he continued. He thought for a moment, musing out loud. "Maybe we could just wait outside the booth? He'll have to go get food or go to the bathroom or something at some point, right?"
  11. {Lane, Paul, Charlotte, and Klive} Arthur's fist unclenched as he turned to Klive and took a deep breath. "You're right. She's not worth it," he said venomously. "I'm going back to class," he said curtly, picking up his things and storming off back to Class 2-2.
  12. Murdoc, I just imagined Kage thinking he was stepping toward her but actually stepping in completely the wrong direction and waving his stick angrily at nothing.
  13. Yeah I guess you're right. Should I edit? I thought you had said to try and get personal stuff wrapped up before the second topic ;~;
  14. {Lane, Paul, Anna, and Charlotte} Arthur stood up and slammed his hand on the table, his frustration boiling over as his sea-blue eyes turned from calm to stormy. "You don't get to tell me how to honor my mother. The blood is on your family's hands and no one else's! Even the media said the accident would have been completely avoidable if your family hadn't tried to cut safety costs! So why don't you 'build a bridge' over your ego and act at least a little bit remorseful. Or do I have to wipe the floor with you in public until I get my point across, you spoiled little brat?" he challenged, raising his voice and not caring that he was making a scene.
  15. {Lane, Paul, Charlotte} Arthur glared at Charlotte, his tone becoming short. "Sure, why wouldn't I want to duel you?"
  16. {Paul and Charlotte} Arthur looked at Paul and shrugged. "It's one of the only things I know about my mother. That she loved Duel Monsters." He spread the cards in his deck and pulled two out, showing them to Paul. "These cards are the only things I have left from her. This one is Levia Dragon- Daedalus." He pointed at the card art, specifically the high Attack stat of 2600. "It's a pretty powerful monster on its own, but it's got an amazing effect. It can tribute any Field Spell I own to destroy every other card on the field. And the icing on the cake?" he asked, a slight grin on his face. "By sending Daedalus to the grave I can upgrade him to his most powerful form: Neo-Daedalus, the Ocean Dragon Lord. Not only does his attack increase, but he can use the same effect as his Levia form. In that form, though, it also destroys both players' hands. Imagine the possibilities. If I draw another Call of the Atlanteans after that, I have an entire graveyard full of monsters to choose from." He then looked up at Paul's face. "So to answer your question, I've been dueling since I learned to read."
  17. Jacob looked down at the book, taking it gently in both hands. He looked back up at James, his mouth hanging slightly open. "Wow... I... I don't even know what to say to this, James." He looked down at the book and gingerly leafed through the pages as though it might fall apart at any moment. "It's an incredible gift. Thank you," he managed, his hand falling to Teo's Ball as he skimmed the information. His eyes returned to James's and he nodded, tucking the book under his arm. "You have no idea how helpful that's going to be. I know Teo will appreciate this too."
  18. Jacob nodded. "You guys have a point. Let's wait around for Danielle and see if she has any ideas. Otherwise we might as well head inside and go watch the rest of today's matches before we have our little chat with the good professor. What do you say?"
  19. {Lane, Paul, Charlotte, and Anna} Arthur looked dissatisfied with Mrs. Reinier's comments, his brow creasing. She's right. I should have been able to end that on the third turn instead of the fourth, he noted sarcastically. Although I'll be facing much tougher opponents in my time here. I'll need to make sure my Deck is up for the challenge. He then turned to address her, his unhappiness seeping into his tone. "Perhaps you'd care to elaborate on what I could have done better, Mrs. Reinier? I know Mr. Tenjo was renowned for his dueling advice. It would be wonderful to know that I didn't miss out on it by having you instead."
  20. {Mareek and James} Jacob looked toward Mareek's pocket, a slight grin still etched on the teenager's face. "Nice to hear from you too, Java. Just give me a moment." He took the last bite of his crepe and looked toward the bench. "Hey, James! Get over here! We're talking about telling Professor Cadmus." He then looked back at Mareek, smiling inwardly at the fact that he'd clearly managed to reach the other student. "So, Java, you mentioned talking to Professor Cadmus, right?" He put his hand on his chin, thinking for a moment. "I just saw Avis flying overhead. That means Danielle and Lana should be here momentarily. We're going to wait for them, then the five of us can go together. With such an organized group, he'll have to at least listen to us. Mareek, I'd be more than happy to hear your thoughts on that. If you have anything to add to the plan, I'd love to hear it."
  21. {Mareek, slightly James} Jacob nodded understandingly and placed a hand on Mareek's shoulder. "It's alright, Mareek. I know what it's like to put the blinders on and charge headlong into something." He looked back at Spitfyre, who was occupied watching a few Combee buzzing around a nearby tree. "When we were training for the tournament it took Arete and Spitfyre literally setting my pants on fire to get me to sleep one night. All's forgiven as long as it doesn't happen again." His hand returned to his side and he looked around, a faint grin on his face. "As much as we have going on right now, it's just amazing to me that I'm even here. It's been my dream to win the Winter Cup since I was a little kid. I think my friendships and my grades may have suffered a bit for it, but it's all worth it to me. And to know in my heart that my Pokemon are behind me one-hundred percent makes it all the sweeter." He looked Mareek in the eye, determination on his face. "As long-winded as I've been, I'm getting to my point. I can see the same passion in you when it comes to stopping whoever's behind all this. So how can I blame a passionate guy for... Well, for being passionate?" He looked back toward the stadium. "You're the reason I've been pushing my team so hard. When we battled for the first time, you more than earned my respect as a person and as a Pokemon Trainer. In the finals, I can already tell you and I are going to put on a show that'll be talked about for years to come. Any tension between us is natural. When two fiery people meet, sparks fly. Just know that despite our rivalry, we're on the same side and I'd be honored to call you a friend."
  22. {James and Mareek} Jacob smiled lightly as he saw Mareek come into view. "Hold that thought, James. Look who just showed up." He stood up and approached Mareek, trying to look as amicable as possible. "Sure thing, bud. I assume this is about earlier?" he asked casually as he took another bite of his crepe.
  23. Chim and I just wrapped up the first duel of the RP! Unfortunately it was 13-year veteran against someone who hadn't played in a bit, but Chim did really well at controlling the field toward the end.
  24. {Lane, Paul, and Charlotte} "Nice to meet you, Paul. Now, Lane, let's get this duel started." With that, Arthur began cutting his deck. He then put it in the proper position on the table and drew his first five cards. "You can take the first move," he said casually. ============================================================== The score was 8000 to 1200 Life Points in favor of Arthur, but with the field in Lane's control thanks to his Diamond Dire Wolf and Impale Lanius, things were beginning to turn south for the blue-haired youth. "My turn," he said. He took a deep breath and drew his next card, then looked over his hand. Praise be to Daedalus, I've drawn the right card, he thought to himself. I have Big Wave Small Wave, Atlantean Dragoons, and Legendary Ocean. "Unfortunately for you, this duel has ended as quickly as it has begun," he said calmly. "Your biggest misplay was using Soul Charge when you had my entire field empty last turn. You could have at least put a dent in my Life Points that way." He grinned. "My first move is to play Legendary Ocean! This field spell increases the attack of my fearsome WATER mosnters by a full 200 points! It also reduces all of their Levels by one." He then dramatically took another card from his hand. "Now I summon Atlantean Dragoons in Attack Position! His effect allows all my Level Three or lower Sea Serpents to attack your Life Points directly! Normally he can't benefit from his own effect since he's a Level Four monster, but thanks to Legendary Ocean he qualifies for it! Now, I attack your Life Points directly and claim my victory!" He smiled as he marked down the last deduction from his classmate's Life Points. FLAWLESS VICTORY, he thought to himself, managing to keep a straight face despite the Mortal Kombat reference. "That was a good duel, Lane. And your Diamond Dire Wolf play that took Poseidra off the field really had me worried! I think with a bit more practice and a little deck tweaking, you'll be quite the formidable opponent." He reached his hand over the table and smiled, waiting for his opponent to shake his hand.
