  1. vs. Sigmund 10 This was the tenth battle vs. Sigmund. I obviously stopped posting redundant losses. But this one was a win. The certain placement of Pokemon so that Salamence didn't get hit by Electivire's Rock Slide. That made a difference. Repitition is killer. Don't mention that, now I'm going to struggle through league thinking about it (except I already beat Noel so...)

  3. Let's give Sigmund a 10th battle

  4. Ryan C here. I admit the title was lame, but team #6 isn't! One of my favorite songs from my childhood, Brown-Eyed Girl is the poster song for the brown-colored team. (M) @ Custap Berry Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Slack Off - Stealth Rock - Roar Weather lead. Hippowdon has high enough Attack to not need a lot of EVs invested in that category. The STAB attack is Earthquake. What, like what was I supposed to use, Mud-Slap? Anyway, Slack Off seems to be something of a trademark for the hippo and is essential to be a tank. Stealth Rock works well with Roar to rack up damage, a tactic I can't recall ever using before. The Custap Berry increases Hippowdon's longevity by allowing it to use either Slack Off or Stealth Rock before the opponent kills it. @ Life Orb Trait: Sturdy EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Smack Down - Earthquake - Rest - Curse Surprise special wall and physical attacker. Regirock is thoroughly underestimated for its walling capabilities; its defenses in sand are at base 80 / 200 / 150. That is just sickening. It doesn't hurt to have base 100 Attack either. The attacking starts with Smack Down. Seems like a weak STAB at first, but alas, it's not that attack that people should be worried about. After that, Earthquake is inevitable, which means it's either getting phazed or it's getting destroyed, and if I predict the former, I will be able to Curse right in the opponent's face. And when stuff becomes problematic, it's time to Rest, and with those defenses Regirock can sleep well knowing that in all likelihood it's not getting taken out. (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Flame Body EVs: 244 HP / 44 SDef / 220 Spd Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Lava Plume / Magma Storm / Fire Spin - Torment - Substitute - Protect Counter-choice weapon, right from Smogon. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. This Heatran allows me to troll a lol and either phaze the opponent or stall them like crazy. Although Lava Plume is the recommended attack, I'm also looking at Magma Storm or Fire Spin which would trap the opponent. Torment makes shielding against attacks. Protect and Substitute help to stall out the opposition. (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Hi Jump Kick - Rapid Spin - Foresight - Rest Spinner. Hitmontop is bulky enough to be a pretty good spinner with only two weaknesses. Hi Jump Kick is the STAB, although with some risk entailed, but I'd have to Rapid Spin before doing so as a miss kinda kills it. Foresight guarantees a use of Rapid Spin or Hi Jump Kick, although a switch to another Ghost-type would damage it good. Rest heals HP and status, and Hitmontop is bulky enough to use it effectively. (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sand Force EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Hasty Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Stone Edge - U-turn - Gravity Gravity sweeper. Trust me. I am the master with unconventional strategies, and this one is tried and true. And no, I did not reference Smogon for this one, even though it's up there. Gravity is what makes this set. It negates Ground-type immunities and slashes Evasion, making moves like Earthquake and Stone Edge better than ever. U-turn takes on what Earthquake and Stone Edge can't hurt. So yes, it is a crazy offensive team, although I do wish it had more Speed. The ability Sand Force is better than Sheer Force in sand as it gives the same boost to the attacks without the loss of added effects. (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Early Bird EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Seed Bomb - Sucker Punch - Nature Power [Earthquake] Resister. Shiftry is only here because it resists Surf and Earthquake, which no other Pokemon on the team did. It is weak to Fighting, like a lot of the team, but Lando can resist and Hippowdon can wall. Anyway, this guy isn't too fast but if he gets a Swords Dance, he's going to slug away, especially with its STABs, Seed Bomb and Sucker Punch. Nature Power gets some coverage and gets steels which the other two moves wouldn't touch. Early Bird is more useful than Chlorophyll as I'll want to keep sand out as much as I can. The exportable is here. Might as well give it a shot before you chime in, right? First 5 battles: 1. 2-0 loss vs. Fabian.. 2. 4-0 won vs. the corrupt mod. 3. 3-0 win vs. [ironfist]I'mTooLazy. 4. 6-0 loss vs. [Nirvash]Charizard. 5. 4-0 loss vs. crep. Have at it! Next time on the monocolor series, I reveal my kinda dark side - I mean, team!
  5. +Nirvash: Nirvash has muted Raichu-Cats笑 +Ikaru: It's a good gesture, Brave, but you see, +Kirito: Next step would be a permaban, I think. Silver: ^ +Ikaru: Kaito gets it. +Godot: ... 11. Not having Wish on Blissey was the result of me thinking that I'd give it to another Pokemon. Smogon even suggests Healing WIsh on Mesprit. But with Protect, Wish sounds like a good idea. I think Signal Beam is needed on Gorebyss for overall team coverage issues. Otherwise I had only U-turn on Psychics. I don't have Grass in mind when Gorebyss comes in - in fact, Grass is the type that inclined use of the Sash. That and I can't always count on rain incase Mesprit went down bringing weather. It's only eight turns, which isn't too much when you think about it, and I need to fight on.
  12. Either or. I found that the Sash worked better as Gorebyss is usually faster anyway due to Swift Swim, and I don't really wanna risk a wasted turn, even from something like Serperior that could take it out with Leaf Storm and get +2 Special Attack in the process. If it survived, Serperior is dead the next turn from Signal Beam. But you know, it's situational. Each has its own benefits, but I prefer the Sash to survive super-effective attacks.
  13. That was the first kind of Milotic I thought of for this team, but this kind of Milotic works better with Blissey. Also Haze stops boosting/Baton Pass teams.
  14. Ryan C here. If you thought I didn't want to do a purple monocolor, you obviously didn't see what limited choice I had for pink. Team #5 go! ...as you can see, my choice for songs was pretty barren, too. Meet the pink monocolor, which will probably be my worst monocolor yet. @ Damp Rock Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Rain Dance - Psychic - Thunder - U-turn Weather lead. This is how low I've sunken to find a good lead. I take that back, actually, because Mesprit is a decently balanced Pokemon. But the idea was to find something that could set up something else so my team could work with it. And that something is Rain Dance. With the Damp Rock, rain also lasts longer so there's more of it to take advantage of. Thunder will then take over. Either that or Psychic, its STAB. Krookodile is immune to both of those moves, but not to worry, it can deal decent damage while escaping from Krooko with U-turn, leaving the others to annihilate Krooko with boosted Water attacks. (F) @ Silk Scarf Trait: Scrappy EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Curse - Milk Drink - Heal Bell Curse attacker. Ah, Miltank, my old nemesis from ten years ago...we meet again, but this time, you're under MY control! Bahahahaha! Anyway, this is a better Miltank than Whitney's for sure. Body Slam is the STAB which has a chance of paralysis. It doesn't abuse it as well as Jirachi, but it hits harder with it after a Curse or two. Milk Drink was made Miltank so damn annoying in 2nd gen (I guess in 4th as well), but al least it's useful. It is also bulky enough that it's capable of making great use of Heal Bell. (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Scald - Ice Beam - Recover - Haze Hazin' defensive rain abuser. Scald is a burning Water attack that sees a power increase to 240 base in rain. Ice Beam is for Grass-types like Virizion who try to fight through rain. Recover is one of those moves that you take whenever it's there. Haze is a necessity for how bad this team is, and allows it to prevent the opposition from getting a step ahead. Its EVs and Marvel Scale help to allow Milotiic to take Physical hits better, which is what the set is meant to do. (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 156 SAtk / 100 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Thunderbolt - Ice Beam - Protect - Softboiled => Wish (Hyrule) Special wall which is designed to work with Milotic. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam give Blissey some surprising offensive prowess, which can catch some others off-guard. Protect allows me to see what a switch-in wants to use and if I need to switch. Softboiled is the recovery move that everyone on this team save Mesprit seems to have. I chose this over Chansey so that I didn't have to stick to OU with this team. That and Chansey is really ugly. @ Leftovers Trait: Synchronize EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Nasty Plot - Aura Sphere - Psyshock - Surf A much needed attacker. It is pretty straightforward, and unfortunate considering this is all that could come from me out of its awesome movepool. Nasty Plot provides a healthy offensive boost, in time for Aura Sphere to break evasion boosts, Psyshock to punish walls, or Surf to abuse Mesprit's rain. Man, there isn't a whole lot to this. (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Surf - Signal Beam - Shell Smash - Baton Pass Man, I must have been crazy when I thought about doing this pink monocolor. But here I am. This is the Swift Swimmer, which is essential in pretty much any Reborn team with rain. Surf is the power attack. Signal Beam hits some stuff that other Pokemon can't hit too well. Shell Smash needs no introduction. I also prefer to Baton Pass it to something like...heehee...Blissey, if I don't get hit by priority. and the item choice is the Sash to Pass the Smash. Heh, sounds like a children's rhyme. If you think you can make this team work, feel free to take the exportable. First 5 battles: (in tier BorderLine unless otherwise stated) 1. 2-0 loss vs. GGson. 2. 6-0 win vs. tttj (won by forfeit). 3. 6-0 win vs. PT Abyss. 4. 2-0 loss vs. Black-Raichu (PBC OU). 5. 2-0 win vs. Dreamerz. Have at it! Next time on the monocolor series, we get our hands dirty with a color that's actually useful!
  15. Yo. Ryan C here. This team is boss but i'm noticing some things. The BL tier is my domain, how dare you trespass If you're running Zoroark, I think Gallade should be moved to the back. Most super effective attacks thrown at Gallade would be named Shadow Ball and Zoroark takes those well. It's also good to know that Zoroark's weaknesses are both resisted by Gallade, so it probably won't take anything it won't survive. I would also recommend moving Zoroark to the front as the opponent's not yet prepared for its special onslaught. That and both Gallade and Zoroark learn Night Slash. You have a Razor Claw, but no attacks to abuse the high crit-hit with, in fact the only move it can use to do so is Slash. You should give it a Razor Fang so Iron Head has a better chance to make the opponent flinch. The combination of Muddy Water and Scald is useless. You should get rid of Muddy Water as its power is pathetic for an 85 accuracy attack. If you're looking for spread attacks, you might as well replace Scald with Surf; at any rate, you should find some kind of coverage move. Hidden Power [ice] is probably the best way to go. EDIT: Reading Washman's post below, yeah, he's right. But still, there's better things than the Razor Fang, like Life Orb or Occa Berry.

  17. *** Nirvash kidnaps Ame *** Nirvash: You wanna do my Philosophy homework for me? [LGND]Ryu forfeited against [ironfist] Ryan C. +Amethyst: I'm sorry, but I clearly can't. Nirvash: You totally could. I'm being 100% serious. +Amethyst: Because if you knew the material well enough, you would know that I would not be doing your homework for you, I would be doing it for me. Nirvash: ....You just went all Philosophical on me, didn't you? +Amethyst: Did I? That depends solely on your own perception. Nirvash: I concede defeat, o great tree.
  18. That sadness when there's only three days that you can do league because there's only one leader left to battle.

  19. Yeah batchu, Sandslash is a spinner, and a pretty good one too as it has awesome defense. Problem is, most of the attacks it's weak to are Special and its Special Defense is bad. Oh well, Skwayz is right though. Better a slow spinner than no spinner at all, especially when three Pokemon on your team are weak to Rock (with no one on the team resisting it), and Toxic Spikes will ruin Sashorus as well as prevent Raikou from PP stalling, which would be the main reason for having its ability on it unless you indulge in seeing it convulse from repeated Electric attacks.
  20. According to the Pokedex, Espeon is purple. The Pokedex is what I go by for these, even if it says Bronzong is green.
