I think the late game is going to be very doable because Trick Room Mega Mawile, but the Terjuma and GDC arcs are gonna be really though, Angie especially without any access to Steel and Fighting types except for base Mawile.

It crashes/freezes when I heal or catch a mon, which makes the game unplayable. I fixed the healing part by rendering the MIDI music effect with Fluidsynth and preplacing the original MIDI with the rendered file. I can't fix the catching, though. Btw, I use Arch.

Is there still a way to get Rockruff?
dudeguyman replied to NoxiousNights's topic in Official Desolation Club's Discussions
The thing is, Rockruff gets Steadfast as hidden ability, not Own Tempo. Own Tempo Rockruff is basically its own specie, kinda like Battle Bond Greninja, so, even with the Ability Capsule, you still need a specific Own Tempo Rockruff event. Still, Midday form is actually faster, even if it doesn't hit as hard, but it's extremely relevant if you want to use its signature Z move to break the field once it's available, and it gets Sand Rush if you're planning to make a sand team and it can get quite bulky since with 112 base speed under Sand Rush it already outspeeds pretty much anything wihtout speed investment. -
[Fanwork] Aevian Hydreigon
dudeguyman replied to Enatsyrte's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
For keeping child-like features in adulthood, that usually means rounder features (which would be mostly covered by the fur in this case), bigger head, bigger eyes, increased playfulness, and sometimes more specie-specific things, like meowing and purring in cats. Long story short, all things cute. -

Where are you stuck exactly? I couldn't get to Mirage Town for a long time, until I figure out that there's an hidden cut tree on the right of where you find the TM, and it was pretty much a smooth sailing from there. -
[Fanwork] Aevian Hydreigon
dudeguyman replied to Enatsyrte's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
There is one thing I don't like about the lore: Storm 9 happened 50 years before Rejuv, that's not a lot of time for "generations upon generations" of Hydreigons. Making its origin in Miera and make it an imported specie makes a lot more sense. Also, you've forgot (or consciously neglected?) to consider the one trait common to all domesticated species: neoteny. First of all, this line should be smaller than its wild counterpart. Deino 0.7m, Zweilous 1.2m, and Hydreigon 1.5m (so, just slightly taller than a wild Zweilous) should just about do it. Second, it's longer childhood and teens. The Hydreigon line really doesn't need help in that department, but since it's a pseudo you can only obtain late in the story, and training an entire new team is a complete non-issue in Rejuv, we can get away with it. I say Deino should evolve at level 64, and for Zweilous, I see two ways to go about it: just make it level 75/80, or by frienship, to reference it needing a skill trainer to achieve inner piece and evolve. Third, is keeping childish traits even in adulthood. For this, I think that making the central head not much different than a Deino head should suffice. For how you're going to get it, a reward for a side quest sounds about right. -
I've made it all the way to Addenfall town, I've chased the foxes that were attacking the girl in her house, and now I'm supposed to chase them. North, route 3, is where I came from, and, unsurprisingly, there's nothing there. I can't go west because the game says that's not the right way, if I go south, route 4, the path is blocked by two NPCs, and every last building in Addenfall are locked. I have no idea where the game wants me to go.

[Fanwork] A crest for Wigglytuff
dudeguyman replied to Enatsyrte's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
Isn't that exactly what -1 priority does? It loses the buffs after attacking. The idea is that Wigglytuff has to accumulate air to attack, so it moves last. After it's inflated, it becomes stronger (with a UI message being like: "Wigglytuff sucks up air!" followed by the stats increases), then, after it attacks, it loses that air, so it should lose the buffs (with a UI message like: "Wigglytuff returns normal."). The funny thing is, since it loses the stats after attacking, if for whatever reason, let's say a Fake Out, it won't lose the increases, and next turn, if you use a sound-based move again, it will stack another stage at the start of the turn, and but only lose one after attacking. Faking Out your own Wigglytuff to gain a stat boost won't be too much difference than attacking your own sweeper to activate a Weakness Policy, except you basically skip an entire turn, but on a naturally bulky mon that just got +1 Defense and Sp. Defense you can afford that, of course you can only trigger it on command in doubles. There is one thing holding this Wigglytuff Crest back: let's say your opponent tries to wall Wigglytuff's Hyper Voice with a Ghost-type. In Gen 9 Wigglytuff gets Alluring Voice, but Rejuv is Gen 8, Alluring Voice doesn't exist yet, the best Fairy-type sound-based move is Disarming Voice, which still would hit weaker than non-buffed Dazzling Gleam. So, are you going to run Disarming Voice for the defense buff or Dazzling Gleam to just hit harder? You also don't get the defense buff if you go for a status move, unless it's Sing with its 55% accuracy. If we're going for strict competitive viability, I think that flat -50% speed, flat +50% to sound-based moves, flat +20% to defenses is the better option because Trick Room exists, but I think Snorlax still fits the niche of the bulky Trick Room sweeper better. A secondary effect you could add on top of either version of it is to make Sing 70% accurate, like D/P Hypnosis. (80% is pre-nerf Dark Void. You don't want pre-nerf Dark Void, and it was broken on Smeargle.) This buff alone would make it viable in doubles. -
[Fanwork] A crest for Wigglytuff
dudeguyman replied to Enatsyrte's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
You know that Competitive doesn't trigger if the pokemon lowrs its own stats, right? If we're going off of lore, doesn't make it wore sense to give -1 priority and +50% power to sound-based moves instead of a permament -1 speed? This way it works a lot better as a bulky wallbreaker/support outside of Trick Room, but it's not a juicy Trick Room sweeper. - If a sound-based move is selected, at the start of the turn, raises Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, and Special Defense until it attacks, but moves last. -

The Sheridan Move Relearner is found in a cave west of Mirage Town. You can get to Mirage Town by completing the disappearing tree puzzle in the Mirage Woods north-west of Route 3. -

Nightmare casino poor design
dudeguyman replied to Linark's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
With switch style and and items it's not hard (by the way, did you know Revive resets Mimikyu's Disguise?), but with set style and no items, if you build a good 3v3 team that uses the chess field well, you can probably pull through, but realistically, build for one matchup and F12 'till you roll is your best bet. That it happens while you're locked in GDC, so you can't exactly travel around the region to build the perfect 3v3 chessboard team doesn't help (seriously, the GDC arc existing is more than a good reason to catch any new pokemon on sight). Anyway, I find the gym battle, which happens immediately after, to be way harder. Reborn does do creative stuff time to time (like PULSE Camerupt), but there the difficulty most of the time is from PULSE having absurd stats, PULSE2, opponents abusing the field so that everything OHKOs every possible counter, and hellish gauntlets, and the game throws 6v12s at you like they're rice and you've just got married. Currently, Rejuv only has one hellish gauntlet, and it's a Paragon exclusive. -
discussion Melia concerns me at times
dudeguyman replied to KT541aru's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
As for the Aelita thing, I think the rift is a fine conclusion to the arc: Aelita and Taelia accept each other as mother and daughter, and Aelita never calls herself "a monster that should have never existed" ever again. I don't think that that Keta is actually her husband from her previous life really hit her, at least not emotionally, until later when she started visiting the springs but that's all done off screen. And I don't think there's much of a doubt on her feelings being more complicated than she lets out: according to Venam, everyone in the task force is putting a strong front, and she's the only one without complicated personal matters going on at the moment. This part really does need to be expanded, but there's plenty of time for it. Saki got a lot of exposition because it was a "now or not until way into the postgame" deal. As for Melia, M2 is a key part in understanding her character, imho, especially with Renegade MC insisting there's no fundamental difference between the two ( (Rot13) "Lbh unir n frevbhf vffhr jvgu nppbhagnovyvgl. Lbh arire gnxr erfcbafvovyvgl sbe nalguvat. Rira jvgu gur anzr, "Z2". Lbh pubfr vg gb nyvrangr lbhefrys sebz "Zryvn", orpnhfr lbh qvqa'g jnag gb gneavfu ure anzr, be fbzrguvat. Orpnhfr fjrrg by' Zryvn jbhyqa'g qb fbzrguvat fb ivyr, urvabhf, pehry. Ohg Zryvn jbhyq. Naq Zryvn unf.") With keeping the plan secret, it makes sense, since it does rely on the targets not knowing it: "we have to deepen our friendship or the world will burn or something" doesn't quite have the same vibe as simply saying: "Hey, let's hang out!" As for why she requested access to the Zeight in the first place, it's because events in the ruined timeline taught her just how important MC is, and pushed her to support them the best way that she can. -
There are two Fairy-types you get from a certain someone in Rejuv: Mawile, and Sylveon. Mawile doesn't really need help to be viable, well, at least Mega Mawile and its 678 Attack doesn't, Sylveon definitely could. Sure, it could get a copy-paste of the Sinnoh Eeveelitions crests, which just swap a couple of weaknessess for resistances, which makes sense: they're primarily held back by being slow mons with a terrible defensive typing, but that's not the case for Sylveon, and such a copy-paste would leave it with no weakness, an immunity, and 5 resistances. Instead, something way more interesting can be done with the Sylveon Crest: give it Misty Surge. Hyper Voice gets STAB from Pixilate, the 1.5x Pixilate boost from the terrain, and the 1.5x boosts that all Fairy moves get on the Misty Terrain, it hits with an insane 303 base bower. This concept can be applied to all the eevelutions to make a series crests: Flareon gets Drought, Joteon Electric Surge, etc. That leaves only Umbron, since there's no Dark-type weather/terrain, its crest, instead could allow it to clear the weather and terrain on switch in, which is in character with it being a Dark-type and a notoriously defensive mon.

Xenpurgis theory - nanomachine plague
dudeguyman replied to cyberfox096's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
This is definitely interesting. A giant mech is also an obvious giant target, and that alone gives a city full of strong trainers, like GDC, a chance to fight back, but how are you going to fight something too small to see that's going to kill you before you even begin to understand what's happening? But this also means there's not going to be a rift Stakataka battle, which, let's be real, there's definitely going to be a rift Stakataka battle. -
are Ledian and Cherim good?
dudeguyman replied to Gengar768's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
I haven't looked into Cherrim a lot, but the Ledian Crest is busted. Full IV, 252 Attack EV, Adamant Ledian is like it had 740 Attack whenever it uses a punch move, git it Iron Fist with the Ability Capsule and it's going to be like it has 888, and does learn Mach Punch. 888 Attack Mach Punch is busted on its own. Then, the crest also makes secondary effects proc twice, and Ledian learns Power-Up Punch, which means it's a mini Mega Kangaskhan but its main move has priority. Survive one turn to land a Power-Up Punch and you're going to have 1776 Attack Mach Punch. On top of that, it has access to Drain Punch for healing, and all the elemental punches for coverage, and U-Turn, which is U-Turn, except it won't hit hard at all. -
I'm stuck in Beryl Ward. I've beaten the Pulse Tangrowth, got access to the hidden room in the gym, but the former gym leader is nowhere to be found.

Wasn't Ch. 3's Marble Mansion in a parallel universe? And I think that the person that cries for help and the one that accuses MC of betrayal in Terajuma are different people. Also, if the Genesis Syndrome came from the Archetype being forcibly stripped from Maria and put into Melia, wouldn't M2 suffer from Genesis Syndrome in her universe as well, instead of getting it only after the switch with Melia? Seriously, the more you think about Maria/Melia/Melanie/M2 in general the less anything about them makes sense.

Ideas for Fire Fairies
dudeguyman replied to Zohnical's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
If PorygonZ with far better stats and Adaptability has its biggest competitive achievement making Porygon2 able to run the Evolite, I doubt this A-Absol is busted, and running a setup sweeper without a sash is risky. Sure, Fire and Fairy are good offensive types, unlike Normal, but with mediocre speed and being about as frail as Dedenne (I have it at 252 HP with the crest, and it still dies to a sneeze!) if think it makes a good wallbreaker, but not much else. Sure, if you send it against a wall and somehow manage to stick double Tremor Dance it's gg (even with single Tremor Dance it's going to outspeed most things), unless the opponent has Sashed/Sturdy/priority mons. A way to nerf it, rather than changing its ability, would be getting rid of Tremor Dance: if anything that's the thing that might cause problems. A lot of regional forms don't get a signature move anyway. It could get Calm Mind for a setup set, which, of course, it's not nearly as good. Another more crafty nerf is keep Tremor Dance, but make so it also gives -1 Def, the idea is that it becomes a glass cannot that literally dies to Quick Attack. We can go a big more heavy handed with that nerf: For where you would be able to find it, Valor Mountain (Angry) and Carotos Mountain. The latter is Ch 2, which is definitely too early. Valor Mountain would be during the later parts of Chaper 8, where you do get some very interesting pokemon already (like A-Gastrogon, the MVP of my mono Fairy run). But I think that being an event pokemon after you backtrack to Magrodar Crater after the GDC arc is fine: specie power creep plateaus in GDC (maybe it's locked behind a Strenght puzzle?). -
Rejuvenation Metagame
dudeguyman replied to cyberfox096's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
Pokémon is already the biggest and most recognizable franchise on the planet. Using the Pokémon world, lore, and mythology as a substrate for your own world, lore, and mythology at this point in time can be seen as nothing different than doing the same with Tolkien's or D&D's, except that with Pokémon you risk Nintendo lawyers coming after you butt and that we're less to used to Pokémon being used in that way thanks to the risk of Nintendo coming after the author(s)'s butt. -

I think it's the 11th or something. Anyway, when Melia talks to MC remotely via the Zeight, Aelita and Venam are off-screen and one of them checks on MC claiming to have heard a familiar voice. Melia is confused on how Aelita/Venam might have possibly heard a telepathic message to MC, and, later on, she pulls the same trick with both of them on screen but neither of them hears anything. This reeks of Karma.
