  1. Looker is? I thought he only appeared in Rejuvenation
  2. If they REALLY were effective, Gym Leaders wouldn't need to-... But... This is Pokemon universe, police IS useless there. Unless one of them is some talented Trainer with ranks - like Nanu - they ain't gonna do anything good. All tasks and threats have to be solved by high ranked League Representatives or some random 10-year olds from who-knows-where.
  3. Yeah, I know that. Actually, that was my speculation before someone else had said this to me. Is this true...? Maybe yes, maybe not, time will tell If that was true... Then that explains one "weirdly illogical" part. In the Glass Factory, Anna's dialogue changes whether player defeated Solaris on Pyrous Mountain or not - if you didn't, she would be worried, if you did, she would show to be more calm (I don't remember the exact dialogues, I'm sorry). So, if the reset indeed happened, that means two things: - her Nostra is a true, flesh-and-blood Jirachi, and her wish was to go back in time, to avoid the tragedy - we're living in a Undertale universe, and Anna is a player, and we just a random NPCs If you mean the policeman, then no - he was the MAIN Fairy Leader. Ame did mention she was going to call the reserve (quite a delayed decision, m'lady), but since Adrienn has returned... No necessity
  4. When they discovered Corey is an Agent, an entire squad was sent to the Gym to arrest him. But of course they, professionals, needed a help of some random teenager from faraway region that just wanted to beat the League for fun. ...not my fault they're dumber than a pile of rocks! And fighting while splitting up when vines and grass tentacles are spreading across entire ward?! Whose idea that was!? THEY GOT A GYM LEADER KILLED BECAUSE OF THAT! If protag didn't free Adrienn from the Citadel, we would have a trouble finding another Fairy Leader. Apparently there was a Reserve, but other than knowing that it exists... And Terra, despite her... everything, might be one of the smartest in Reborn. Because... creating a different "dimension" inside a computer?! That's impressive. ..unlike my OC who doesn't even know how to access PC. Instead, if he wants to rotate party, he has to ask his butler Sebastian to trade him Pokemom from Altro City in Sacroc. This is very much possible. If her computer has some sorts of connection with the region, she may cause more mayhem... or maybe help the protagonist, because she had a change of heart. I wonder how Lin would react if her only 'friend' betrayed her. Or maybe Terra has something to do with Lin and her invinciblity...? We are so fucking close to the end, yet so many mysteries are yet to be solved. Also... When will we meet Savage? He was mentioned only once, and then never again. And I'm still curious if he will play some role in the plot, or he's gonna be a post-game addition.
  5. Elias is a genius manipulator and could easily trick most of the Reborn into believing he is just an old holy man and close co-worker of Ame as an one of the Four Heavenly Kings (AKA Elite Four). Of course, there are some exceptions, like "200 IQ" Radomus, yet still. And who said that just because Fern was less involved in Team Meteor, he will get away? He's an Agent, and El's an Admin/Commander (at least I assume that because that makes sense if you analyze various sources and compare them), but lower rank doesn't save him. He has allied himself with organization wanting to "destroy" Reborn - if Ame, or any of the higher ranked, discovered it, which could happen - Fern ain't the most wise of the characters... consequences would be. Luckily for him, she-... No. No. No dark jokes anymore. Just he was lucky.
  6. Victini makes more sense, as she practically always wins, even in the most sticky for her situation We don't know whether she's immortal (or she even exista in a metapsyhical sense at some moments) but definitely not a human as Lin: is able to be underwater; breath, talk and move freely without any assistance of oxygen tank or any other shit can tank Samson's (canonically the strongest human in Reborn Region) hits without even flinching and OHKO'ing him back Spoilers to "Pokemon Reborn: Adventures" There is a theory she has some kind of bond or association with Giratina (or she IS Giratina), but we need to wait for the conclusion. One thing that complicates things is the scene in Shade's Gym, where Lin is "judgment cut'd" or "Signora'd" (depending what you'd like to call it) but this CANNOT be the actual scene of demise. As Shade claimed in the Water Treatment Center, "only two will be taken" (I don't remember the full quote), referring to the scenes in the Gym. These two were already taken: Shade and Kiki. The third - Amaria - survived, so Lin should survive the incident (does not mean she will survive at all, tho) But a part of me wants to say: What if "taken" should be treated more literally, like "taken by somebody". Corey's corpse (and maybe soul too; seeing Poison-type Ghost in thier battle with the name "Corey"; but that might be just a mindgame) was taken by Shade, but Kiki's not. (and also why there is no scene of "Final Farewell" there, just transition to the scene with Victoria not giving the Badge because of League rules, and everyone act like "almost nothing catastrophical or tragic happened". There should be some little funeral scene, imo, to pay respects to her) But if that was the case... does that mean Shade will take Lin's soul (assuming she has any; which is very unlikely), and either banish, destroy or... "absorb" it...? Shade is very suspicious - he/she has always acted in player's favor, and has made an alliance with Elite Four Fantasia and Dark Leader Luna. He/She might backstab us, in the least expected moment, to cause a major twist... but I'm not throwing away the possibility he/she will be Lawful Neutral to the very end.
  7. "Emotional depth of a half-blooded turnip" Hmmm... Quite a puzzle he'd given to us. "Emotional depth" could mean the recipient is someone with a rather complicated/mysterious and very complex personality, and "half-blooded" - since that means "connected by blood, but having only one common parent", so it's very possible this is a conversation between siblings. I think it must be either between Fern and Florinia, or Hardy and Titania, as we do know nothing about thier parents, unlike the case with Charlotte, Laura and Saphira, when we know all three had the same parents. But I might lean more toward the former two, because of the "turnip" part... It's a plant. Both of them are Grass-tye specialists, and Grass Leaders of Reborn League (at least we assume, because there's a chance Fern got revoked from his position after making an alliance with Meteors)
  8. With the given set, Swampert is more bulky specially than Garchomp. And since both have x4 weakness, and both of those types they're weak to are Special under this field, then well... (Reuniclus used for both calculations is the same aside from different typing of Hidden Powers; and Garchomp set/spread was taken from Reborn Wiki) I hope you do see now my point.
  9. Alolan Sandslash is his ace? I've thought it was Walrein... Welp, nobody's perfect. Each of them use other forms of Lycanroc, which are so different I actually took that with a pinch of salt. There're not completely different Pokemon, but at the same point they aren't basically the same, like forms of Basculin, so it's okay for me.
  10. Makes sense. Actually, the same goes to Amber. (from Rejuvenation, not from Genshin Impact)
  11. Me too. But the ace is the most important one - being a namecard for the Trainer. When you think about any major Trainer, we always think first about aces. Usually
  12. Ambitious. I like that; yet don't soar too high, or you might meet with disappointment..
  13. Yeah, I guessed as much. I've never experienced POL, but I did hear some stories: some intriguing, some heartbreaking, and some... really hilarious. Now when you said this, I've come to realization that every time an ace repeats itself, then it is one "real" character and one fictional character (except Gardevoir being Radomus's ace and Adrienn's some Pokemon), which somehow makes more sense; those "real" characters have aces from POL, and the other have them because it suits or makes connection.
  14. Well... That connects to the "lore" part, but honestly I had no idea that-... Apparently I've missed some dialogue.
  15. I do agree. But these Pokemon aren't aces of nobody, so that's fair game. Because if ace of one Trainer is used by other, the aces ain't unique anymore. So, assuming Gardevoir is Radomus' ace, there is a overlap within Adrienn's team. But that's the tiniest one. The other, more egregious ones, are Luna and Zero using Umbreon as ace (but technically Zero as ZEL has 3 aces, so there can be made an argument), and the worst one - Solaris and Terra using Garchomp as thier ace. I ask... Why? Why does that chaos of a girl have the SAME ace as one of the main antagonists of the game? Especially since Garchomp suits Solaris both in terms of personality, as in lore, with Alcantara family using and praising Gible's evolutionary line? Why does she even have a Garchomp, moreover as her ace? To add on difficulty? Other that Dragon dealing neutral damage to everything and potential high chance to have increased Crit Chance, it doesn't benefit from it as much: Dragon is special, and its Special stat on this field is only 85. Yes, it can be repaired with the usage of Assault Vest, but honestly... I still think Swampert is the better choice here. With higher Special stat under this field (95, to be exact), better typing defensively (less weaknesses, more resistances), acceptable Attack of 110, and good moveset (with STAB and Ice, it covers all Pokemon for at least neutral damage, so just toss on Rock, Fighting or Poison attack). Also, it also can have Assault Vest for even stronger Special, and doesn't have to rely on drawbacking-Draco Meteor. Yeah, there ARE three problems, but all of them are relatively tiny: first is x4 weaknesses to Grass, but Garchomp also has x4 weaknesses, to Ice, and both types under this field are Special, so they could tank those moves similarly (Garchomp has higher HP by 8, Swampert has higher Special by 5 + Assault Vest boost). Other tiny problem is the Speed, but making Swampert's spread a Specially Defensive (252 HP, 4 Atk, 252 SpD, Gentle or any of the "neutral" natures) should do some work. The last one is... Quagsire Quagsire and Swampert are both Water-Ground Pokémon, so that makes an unwanted overlap. But why this isn't a problem, imo? Because Quagsire is holding a Synthetic Seed, transforming it into BIRD type; being weak to absolutely nothing and also resisting nothing. And with the spread and moveset... It's so fucking annoying to fight! Like-... It can burn, it can freeze, it can boost itself even more, and it can Recover! Plus it's so bulky in both sides! Not dangerous, but annoying - it's like all those Clefable users on Showdown; they just never die! So, Quagsire would serve as an annoyance; just like Terra is to Samson, Ciel and Alistasia; and Swampert would crush everything on its way. I've thought about Mega Swampert honestly, but after an hour of analysis in the bus, I realized it would be underwhelming in comparison to Garchomp, so I opted for regular Assault Vest one.
  16. Metagross is... already Radomus' ace. If you think Gardevoir isn't explicitly his Pokemon. As it's his highest level Pokemon, aside from her, in the Gym Battle. But in the Glass Factory, the second highest leveled one is changed to Espeon
  17. First you claim you know. Then you say you don't That contradict each other. Also... are we speaking about the same "owner"?
  18. Sorry I'm bothering, but I want to ask the question.

While creating the update to Ame's "semi-canon" team, should I:

    • limit myself to Pokémon available only in Reborn (canon Pokémon from Gens 1-7)
    • use some Pokemon from Gen 8 (new ones and Galarian forms) and Aevian Forms from Rejuvenation (because Reborn and Aevium are, sorta, connected to each other)

Please, be honest with me - say what you think, not what I want to hear.

    1. Dark Legend

      Dark Legend

I think should limit to only Reborn. Maybe, if, Ame was in Rejuvenation, then you could use Aevian forms

    2. Aphelli

      Aphelli

Honestly? I think you’re overthinking this. But it certainly also depends on what you’re trying to do. Is it more of an Ame-themed team, or something that in game would be a good Champion team?

I believe the latter requires to stick to Reborn availabilities (absent any compelling reasons). But if you lean towards the former, I wouldn’t be shocked if Ame had a Galar Pokemon or an Aevian form – within reason: she’s not Aevian or Galarian (unless you want to make her so), but she’s a traveller (as suggested by the first game scene).

PS: you said you were writing fanfiction. Could you give me the link, please?

      About fanfic...

I'm repairing it, as there were quite a few holes (literally) and I think not so much emotions in dialogues, and the aesthetical descriptions sucked; I'm not an English native speaker so my vocabulary is limited

Of course, over the time, the writing style was better, but wanted to refresh everything.

Fortunately, I have finished the first semester in "undergraduate education" already, so I have 3 weeks of free time, and I'll try to repair it completely, so I can move on.

  19. Maybe a one-way ticket to Distortion World~ I know the owner, they'll be interested in new tetant, as the old one is quite... emotionless
  20. Wasn't GTA VI, much or less, confirmed? Or that was just a random pick from YT have I found in recommended?
  21. Is that so? If yes, then forgive me. I just have VERY bad experience with meta slaves. And yes, normal Absol can be described as "niche". Unfortunately, only "niche", as in its' competitive tier of PU it has a strict rivalry with the only actual PU Dark type - Scrafty. The Pokemon isn't fast, it's really slow, but it isn't a problem since Absol already woundn't outspeed much of a anything. And Scrafty is much bulkier, plus has access to both Bulk Up and Dragon Dance (don't ask me why). Yes, Scrafty does have x4 weakness to Fairy, and that's a clear benefit in Absol's favor, as there are some Fairy Pokemon in the tier, like Ribombee or Aromatisse. Also, while I was checking... Are Galarian Articuno and Glastrier in PU too? Glastrier I get - despite me very liking the design, it's typing is awful defensively, and lacks of reliable recovery. But G-Articuno? With solid attack, good speed and decent bulk? Maybe that's because it's offensive moveset is bad, with the only non-Normal and non-STAB special attacks are Ancient Power and Shadow Ball. But what do I know? I'm not a competitive expert
  22. If that was the case, we would already have great-grandchildren sooner than V19 would come into existence. No offense of course to anyone
  23. And who said it has to be a head/neck? I mean-yeah, but only because it's used by A Exeggutor and Tropius. I always imagined Dragon Hammer to be used by Pokémon who have powerful, long limbs. Not necessarily necks and heads, but arms, legs and tails. And maybe normal Tyranitar won't get much use of it, my fanmade Sacronian Tyranitar will (especially when Mega Evolving, when it gets STAB). Also, in my game, I'd love to do some balancing; bigger or smaller. Fe.: giving Dragon Hammer chance to drop opponent's Defense or flinching, to not make it "just a bit stronger version of Dragon Claw" I'm just not a meta slave, duh. I care not only about tiering, but also asthetics, lore, and other elements. I'll be honest - I spit on those who care only about usefulness in games. Be that Pokemon, League of Legends, Genshin Impact or any other... Those belong to the most toxic people of the community; I speak from experience. And also weebs and other who cannot accept the existence of other dubs than Japanese.
  24. Looking back at it... I'm not really proud of my first "project" here - creating Ame's potential team.

While I've really worked on it, and didn't intent to fuck this up, I had made a grave error: I had mixed the game and anime logic too much. Like... WAY too much.

In short, focusing too much on lore and personality of Ame, both in games and my fanfic (which on its own isn't a bad thing; both can cooperate with each other as there are no major contradictions in neither of them; mainly because Amethyst didn't show much, if anything, of her OC's backstory and daily life), but trying to create a team, which would suit both in games AND anime, and additionally forcing her to have half of her team be in a specific type, when in given type speciality (Dark) there aren't many canon Pokemon which would suit her; the only are Absol and Umbreon (which is both the ace of Luna and Zero, so it wouldn't work out). If I had access to fanmade Pokemon from other games, I could even create a full Dark team which would be perfect this way and that way.

But without it, that team gamewise was... mediocre at best, and lorewise wasn't perfect either.

I've been called out because of that a few times, and I won't be defending myself - I really, really screwed up. And since I'm a perfectionist, I'm gonna repair this mistake asap. So expect in a some time a solid reboot of this project.

    1. Gastronely

      Gastronely

Haha, dude, chill. I heavily relate to the perfectionist argument, but don't beat yourself too much about it! You did it for fun, and everyone has the right to agree or disagree

    2. Oscarus

      Oscarus

I'll be fine. But I need to, being called out many times... Just for peace of mind.

And if next time any meta slave or anything dares to question me-
