  1. The confusion (status) animation for the ones I did. Did you know that circles are really hard in this editor? Because circles are really hard in this editor. I'll probably go back and touch it up more still because I have yet to make peace with it. Although I don't think the few levels it sunk makes a significant difference in EXP gain, especially since the other Pokemon your facing are of course weaker in comparison, if that were true I wouldn't see it as a problem. Imo less EXP = better because that leaves more room for the level cap. Even so I'm really not concerned about the amount of EXP in a section. If it were a lack of gameplay that would be one thing. If teams are underlevelled then we tweak the opponent levels (which is exactly why this change was mind.) I don't see the actual numbers as worth fussing over though. Golduck was just because Psyduck is available early in like every other canon game and it's also a goal to give Pokemon that aren't usually available early on a chance. All canon tutors will be available at some point, probably before E4.
  2. Okami LP part 4:

      Ok-Ame.

Because I'm sure that joke hasn't been beaten to death.

      YAY! MORE OKAMI!

  3. jesus christ why I've corrected the opening post. They're on the animation team. Bazaro left for the military though, which I knew would happen but he helped out a bit before then. No! I, well. I hate Ferrothorn. And Serperior when I'm not using it. And... Scizor is, okay, ish? ... Actually, it's quite possible. But that wasn't intentional. it wasn't actually in that nuzlocke that was linked, i hated it before then because i just waNTED IT TO LOVE ME AND IT WOULDNT NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRIED Q~Q There's at least one of every type there, mostly good/popular stuff that wouldn't otherwise be available until much later in the game. Tentacruel/Cloyster/Starmie/Slowbro... all of these were OU or close to it within the last two competitive generations. Availability was determined in Gen 5 so strong Pokemon were shoved to the back. The fact that they happen to all be gen 1 is just conincidence. You first. But this community is primarily for the game now so like. nawh brah, get over it. It's hard to keep anything secret when people open the game in RMXP and post everything they find. *casual shade* I see. I didn't realize they changed, but it probably won't be updated because that would be a -lot- of work for very little return and pad out development times significantly, which as everyone already knows, is a huge issue as is. Hi that's me. To clarify at Kuro's response, this isn't about the gym leader battle, it's about how the level curve after that battle changed in a recent update. I feel pretty secure in the changes as they are but I'm always open to feedback. I feel like you mentioned this before, but I can't recall the details. Nonetheless, I'm not particularly likely to change it back to how it was entirely, but it's possible to find an in-between point maybe if anything. No promises, because I prefer it as it is presently. Yes. Most of the others on the team have very specific tasks and purposes (except Inuki) which means the 'everything else' falls to me. So that would still be me. And that's how it should be, because I shouldn't expect anyone to work on my game harder than I do. The first one only half applies to me since it's my project, but I've been doing game development since I was wee child so it feels normal. As for the code side, I leave most of the difficult things to others because I honestly am not much for scripting. The field effect project was the first thing I really did with Ruby since before that I just scavenged and copy pasted stuff. So we'll go with that. No Probably not All non legendary pokemon will be available in the course of the main story (probably not wasteland tho) Certainly M4d sk1llz. Titania Absolutely I'm not too familiar with other fangames' evil teams of evil but the canon bar is pretty low so let's say yes Absolute not. Nope. I don't agree, but others share the opinion. Considering what's coming up in the story? Hmm. See above, Titania. Terra. If anyone besides me is fully in the know then they've read the text file they're not supposed to read, and must be burned at the stake. There's a mix of both of those things though. Some guesses are impressive. Some are, uh... creative.
  4. I am. Y'all can skip at your own risk. But I imagine it'll mainly be used like you said, or in replays. I know that personally, since I've played the beginning of the game approximately 2947491 times, I'm very much appreciating it.
  5. Got a lot misc scripting stuff sorted over the past couple days. My to-do list is down to under 400 items!! ...I know that's still a lot, but we're going places, okay?? About half of what's left is still fixing/polishing previous stuff, but we will get there eventually >~< I feel compelled to reiterate that the existence of these other teams (the scripting/animation team) aren't serving to speed up development in the short term so much as they are taking time in development off of things I would need to do later. Because that's getting into the game sooner, even though this update is taking forever, I think it'll show when it's played through that the project as a whole is more polished both in terms of visuals (yay new animations and windowskins) and functionality (less bugs, new features like text-skip and internal volume control), as well as the quality-of-life stuff I'm rounding out like the Field App, PULSE Dex, speeding up battle flow and so on. That said, in the future I'm also going to try and write down less retroactive things to change because this has been pretty ridiculous ngl. Necessary, but ridiculous.
  6. The stars on the right side indicate which items can be selected for lists/explanations. Noted about the status. If that's a common concern it can be redone. But yes, this will be the only way in game, or out of game barring third party archives. This is because each field's description will be unlocked by finding collectibles in the overworld or (potentially) from sidequests (they won't be that hard to get and in general will be accessible before major battles on each field). But in order to make the process of discovering those rewarding, it's important that the information is actually worth something-- not just something that can be looked up in three different other places.
  7. giving me orders, who the hell do you think-- ok. This Nightmare animation comes from Mde, and I was a huge fan as soon as I saw it. It's rounded out by a new Nightmare sound, which is nothing but a wicked cackle.
  8. It's more complicated than that due to some script complications. Plus, I want to do it myself for two reasons. One is so that I can continually check everything and make sure there are no errors. Two is that there is a constant goal here of rephrasing this information as clearly and concisely as possible, so I think it's best if, since I'm the person who understands fields the best, I'm the one rewriting their descriptions.
  9. All right, I now have all of the field app graphics for existing fields made. Next up will be putting for them into the scripts. The field dex is already coded, so this basically amounts to a lot of tedious data entry. I think, however, it is less data than is in the graphics themselves, so my hope is that I'm now over the hump for development. Don't quote me on that or anything tho. oh just saw this This system will replace the upper floor of the library, the website detail, and the included text file-- though they may or may not vanish until E17, we'll see.
  10. I mean, where's the lie tho I won't say good bye, because you know I'll still be around. ^~^
  11. boop. Okami p3

      Yay!!! More Okami :D

  12. This is a case that falls into the posts-without-substance category, since the topic was just two words (granted, repeatedly, but that's arguably worse). So as for removing the section from the Recent Topics part on the index, that was apparently a dirty lie because that feature looks to be broken and is therefore frozen in time forever. Interesting. But shhhh it'll be okay no need to worry...
  13. The excessively ordinary title is due to the fact that I really want to make the topic called "Heard you were talkin' shit" but the annoying little voice in the back of my head won't let me. That said, let's talk shit. Namely, shitposts. Because "shitposting," as you punk kids call it these days, seems to be the new word in cool and has been making a ruckus-- or rather, has been making shit hit the fan, I wanted to take a moment to talk about our stance as a community on this. Shitposting has been around for approximately ever and is a fairly normal part of many forums. It's pretty much why the forum Wasteland exists: so that it has a place to go. The recent backlash against "excessive shitposting" seems to have come into effect mainly with that happy new term, but the content of such posts really hasn't changed at all. As such, I want it to be known that shitposting in and of itself isn't against the community rules... not that I'm encouraging it. And, members, if you don't want to see that stuff it's as easy as not reading it. Nonetheless, we are making a few minor changes to account for recent trends: The Wasteland as a whole no longer gives $R or increases post count, and Wasteland topics will no longer show up in the Recent Topics hook on the index. In short, we're trying to leave the Wasteland as a place where y'all can be silly without any real consequences (positive or negative). That said, it does not mean that that forum is immune to the rules. It's still part of the community, so make sure your posts aren't problematic. In particular, observe the forum rule mandating that each post should contribute something. If your topic is just an image, then it can go in the Funny Images thread. Or if it's just a few words, maybe it doesn't need to be posted. Anyway, have fun! But not too much fun. Here to make sure that you absolutely and under no circumstance have too much fun, we've got a couple promotions coming around to the fun police server moderating team. First up, LidaRose is taking on a mod position after having been around for lord knows how long. Secondly, Jericho climbs up the ladder and picks up the b& hammer. Thanks to both of them for (in one case, continuing) helping out around here!
  14. inuki i want you to know that i love and respect you as a person
  15. cue ame forgetting to say what she's working on lately again The 'graphic updates' section may have hit 100% finally but does that mean that ame gets to be free of making graphics??? hahahaha no never What I've been going through lately is making the images for a new feature that was very briefly announced on the showdown server approximately forever ago... I suppose I'll announce details of it at a later time, but here's what the images themselves that I'm working on look like:
  16. we'll be staring in this major motion picture relaunch coming to the silver screen in spring 2016 so i hope you all come see the show and support us!!
  17. E16 has the option to limit how many save files are kept, yeah. Anywhere from 0-100 with just 1 as default. However, that won't apply retroactively, so just delete any back-ups you don't want to keep.
  18. As a personal note, while I do appreciate the concern for me that some have voiced, I don't want that care to turn into animosity. That won't help anything-- and honestly, this all meant a lot to me, but I'm okay. And I'll continue to be. So no need to worry about me. ^~^ But I think this thread has served its intended purpose. For the sake of not letting create continual argument, conflict, or more disdain than is natural, I'm going to go ahead and lock it.
  19. Lord, mobile... How does anyone make long posts on this? I want to clarify a few things here. Hunter and I have already talked about this a fair bit, particularly since I'm the one who found out in the first place. All of that happened before this thread was even made. Obviously I'm hurt, but he's already apologized, and I believe that he learned his lesson. As such, personally I've already forgiven him. Regardless of the details, he's someone I care about. Right now, my priority is making sure he can feel comfortable being himself. This is why I say that it's brave: I may have found out, but I didn't force him to write this. He made this choice, and I'm proud that he did. Yes, it's late, and it comes only after being caught. But I imagine that someone in such a situation would be scared of losing everything by telling the truth. I think it takes a little reassurance that someone will stand by the person no matter what, in order to give them the courage to go the rest of the way. I offered him a hand to help pull him out of this mess, but he still had to be the one to take that hand and make the jump. And he did. That's not easy to do. While I understand the conclusion that the amount of sympathy around this instance might encourage future happenstances, I don't agree. This, and similar events in the past, did not happen because somebody wanted sympathy for coming out of a lie. It happens because someone made a mistake, and was afraid to admit it. Viciously bearing down on one person for it will not prevent people from making mistakes in the future. It will discourage them from ever coming clean about it. That's not what we want. In regards to the auth, I repeat what was said before: the details of someone's name or gender do not severely impact their ability to maintain the community. That said I'm not promising anything one way or another. Any decision will be made between existing staff. If anyone has particularly strong feelings about it, you're free to message me. I would prefer it not be discussed here though.
  20. Thank you so much for being brave enough to do this. I know it isn't easy, especially on top of what I put you through. I hope you know that even if we're not together anymore I really do want the best for you. With any luck, as we have in the past, as a community we can work past this and that there following, you can feel even more at home here.
  21. boop. these are all done. here's a handful. But I'm not free of graphic stuff yet. Next up is a small collection of miscellaneous things, and then a lot of very tedious image creation for a previously touched-upon new feature.
